0 so far, hoping to get at least 1.
-
1, using the other in a custom. :-\

Just 4 so far.....I cannot believe people are complaining about this one - I love it!

What can you do...the helmet sucks big time.
There are those of us who choose to ignore it, and others of us that can't get past it.
Not a good job from the neck up.
-
POint out to me what wrong with it, I think its a good representation :-X
-
I have 5 now. I will get 10.

If you compare the 2 pics, I don't think anything else needs to be said.
-
I've got a pair of these opened now. I don't mind the figure and think it's cool to be able to get Stormtroopers for less than the $10 each from before.
Unless they start showing up everywhere, I doubt I'll pass on this one many times.
-
Well If you really wanted to get picky, even the evo helm is bad. I mean It's undersized. The bust ups head is more or less the right size, and works better.
-
I've got one and now that I've opened it I know I'll get more. At first site I thought it was going to be an issue with me with the helmet. I got over that real quick. I definitely want two more so I can have Luke and Han stormtrooper figs. I look to have 20 more beyond those as well. So I'm hoping to get 22 total including the two "customs."
But as I said, at present, only have the one.

-
I see nothing overly off about the TAC Stormie helmet.....looking at my pic, that is what they actually look like - when you post an IMAX size pic, everything looks weird.
-
I've got two, and both of them became my Han and Luke troopers. I prefer the Evo sculpt myself. It's more to do with the legs than anything else; you can get a lot more poses out of that one. If they could combine those legs with the VOTC sculpt, I'd be all over it.
-
The nozzels aren't painted right on the cheeks, and the helmet just doesn't seem to be very "defined" in terms of sculpt. If this were the first time ever we had this newer sculpt of the Stormie, I wouldn't be complaining. But they've done much better helmets before like Dressel pointed out. So, that's why some people like me are passing on this figure. Which is fine, I can spend my money elsewhere in the line because I already have enough Stormies that I want (and that I like more).
Also, the Bust Up helmet is very cool, no arguments there.
:P
-
I have one which is all I really wanted. I've never liked TKs as much as I do the ROTS Clones so I don't feel the need to a collect a ton of them.
-
I've purchased 21 so far and 4 are on the way from NFC.
Normally, my main goal is 36 (one platoon,) but since I've already gotten the Sergeants in the form of the Tantive IV stomies, I only need 32 to make the platoon. However, I decided that this trooper, with the helmet off, makes a great Lieutenant, so I've taken 4 and added rank insignias. ( 1 for each of my 4 Platoons.) I'll need to replace them, so in the end I'm picking up 36 anyway.
-
I still have a big fat 0 so far. Hopefully soo though. I'd like to get 10 or so total.
-
2 after the Pennsylvania SW Collecting Society's Summer Social... :)
I'm not disappointed with the figure, but it's not without a few flaws. One in particular is the head is too small to hold the helmet, which is among the bigger ironies ever for a removable helmet figure I've found. Usually it's the other way around on that one.
I'm going to be pretty content picking up more of these though. The torsoes on my 2 are ok too, not wobbly and whatnot. I've yet to compare height though, but I think the way the helmet sits so low, it's not helping him look tall... A better (larger) head would've maybe helped that.
-
I've got 5. 2 of them are Han and Luke (the comic pack heads fit great). The others have Duke, Gung Ho and Kir Kanos heads.
-
Only one so far for me, with another one on the way today in a Wave 3 "set" from BBTS. This is a figure that I'll probably pick up whenever I see it though, and I hope they are plentiful. I realize they aren't perfect, but its nice to get a nice Stormtrooper at the basic figure price again. I'd like to get a couple extras to do headswaps with the comic pack Han/Luke. I tried that last week with the one Stormie I have, and it seems to work pretty nicely. I only saw the VOTC Stormie at retail once, so I'm happy to be able to pick more up at the basic price if/when I see them.
-

I thought about doing the Han/Luke thing. Then I thought about how it would be another $22 for the extra Han and Luke. Then another $15 for the extra pair of stormtroopers.
Then I thought about how Hasbro is nearly guaranteed to release this on their own volition later on, and I decided I could wait.
Plus, that's two less Stormtroopers for the shelves.
-
I havent seen any of this wave except for a lone Vader here and there.
-
Well, I found some at lunch today and went ahead and picked up a couple more. I have four now which is more then enough.
-
I got two tonight in my case from New Force Comics.
-
I am currently at 3 and not quite sure how many I want in the long run.
-
Well, I'm still holding strong with an army of one...not for lack of trying though.
-
I plan to replace half of my VOTC Army with these guys.
Perhaps a few Sandtroopers (Evo, Tin and Saga) with them as well.
I'll probably stop at 12 though.
-
Just found my first one!

Paul, if you do this - let me know. Maybe we could work out a deal or trade for your old ones? I like the VOTC version just fine.
-
Same here Paul. I just need 5 more VOTC oness to reach my stopping point.
I got two more with my NFC case bringing me to 23.
-
I have 6.
-
3 more the past 2 days and Im at 8. 2 more to go.
-
I'm up to six now, and I think I'm going to stop now.
-
Doubled up from 3 to 6 today.
-
Saw lots of these on the shelves at TRU tonight (with Biggs, Darth, and a few of the Legends figs).
They looked pretty good in person. I thought the helmet would bug me from the pics, but maybe not.
I have 5 coming in various cases over the next few months (Hasbro is packing this one in heavy rotation so there should be plenty), so I didn't buy any tonight.
-
I ripped mine open yesterday, so I am at 1.
And I have to admit, its a lot better in person, but it still has a couple issues. Nothing too bad, though, and Ill probably try to pick up a couple more for my growing army.
-
I left one on the shelf at Target yesterday. ???
-

You've officially been completely emasculated.
-
I've got 4 and I think I'm stopping there. It's a nice figure, but the helmets on mine look kind of warped.
I've got at least 20 VOTC and a bunch of Tantive ones, so I don't have a burning need for more.

Um, I know you're helping me with Rebel Honor Guards, but if you could also hook me up with Stormtroopers too... Please let me know. (and AOTC Clones.) Yeah I know, I'm asking a lot....Thanks for the help you've already given me as well as any future help.

I bought two of these, although I don't know why, seeing as I have over a hundred Comm-Tech stormies (I know the new sculpts are vastly superior, but a guy really only needs so many stormtroopers, you know?). I opened one last night, and the weirdest thing happened. Within minutes of taking him out of the package, the helmet started turning pink. It was really slight at first, so much that I thought there was some weird light coming in the window or something. But after a few minutes, the thing was very clearly pink.
Anyone else experience this on this or other figures? Is there a way of reversing it? I thought about sticking it in some bleach or hydrogen peroxide, but thought I'd check in here first.
It sucks because I was planning on letting these guys go helmetless, and to use the helmets with the comic book Han and Luke. I want to remove the baby blue hues to the comic pack stormies, but now that I've got a pink helmet to go with the powder blue detailing, I may shoot for a 501st PRIDE parade brigade or something.

It sounds to me that you had some kind of oil or some other substance on your fingers when you opened it. Either that or the last batch of mushrooms you ate were the silly kind. Probably the former, but with you li...lib...liber (you know)....you never know.

Interesting idea, but you should build a grand clone army to accompany your rainbow brigade of stormies. Clones with fushcia highlights, you know. And I just happen to know a customizer on these boards who I'm sure would enjoy helping you with such a task. Which brings me to...

Other substance? Like what? Hmm....
Could've been shrooms, or it could've been oxycontin (aka hillbilly heroin). Oh wait, Sprry isn't a ne...neo...neoco...nah, couldn't have been oxy.
Perhaps the helmet was exposed to an unusual amount of light?

Yeah like a pot-growing lamp.

Matt, you're retarded. ::)

Received two more yesterday. I'm up to 25.

Got another 4, taking me to 29.
With 2 more on the way from NFC, 5 more, then I'm done.
-
After a trip to TRU, I have 1.
-
any minute now i will see these.....right?..of course....any minute now...
-
I have 8 total:
7 from the Capture of Tantive IV Battle Pack
1 of the removable helmet type. I bought it today. After I opened it I noticed that the right leg is about 1/8 inch longer than the left! I apologize for the crappy picture. My camera sucks.

I finally snagged one for junior and must say, this figure as a toy, sucks ass.
The torso is so loose he can barely stand and the helmet falls off when the figure is tipped upside down.
And did they mold the head in black and then add the flesh toned paint? Already the paint has rubbed away on the tip of his nose leaving a black spot.
-
It is too loose for sure, and the helmet just kind of hangs there - but he stands neutrally and has good articulation. He's good for filling in the ranks if nothing else.
I'm up to 7 now.
-
The torso is so loose he can barely stand and the helmet falls off when the figure is tipped upside down.
I've noticed the same thing with this figure. I've only been able to snag two so far, and one of them is quite loose like you are describing. The other one doesn't seem to be quite as bad. I did notice the loose helmet with both of them though. It didn't seem to be as bad when i was messing around and popped the comic pack Han/Luke heads on them, which I hope to do permanently once I get some more Stormtroopers. I'm debating whether to pick up more of these (which I certainly would if I saw any), or to grab another Tantive pack to get a couple more. Both seem to be good figures in their own right, and I just wanted to build up my Stormie ranks a little more with something other than the Commtech ones.

My army used to be totally Commtech Stormies. Although I love the sculpt, the lack of posability really made those extinct. If I may recommend, the Battle Pack Stormtroopers are MUCH better than the removable Helmet version.

You can email Hasbro about your defective Stormtrooper and they will replace it. Hasbro will even send you shipping materials.

I have had that happen with a couple from the Saga Sandtrooper. I think if you turn the left leg clock wise a bit, it will help even it out.
-
OK, I feel good that I have bought the only two of the TAC Removable Helmet Stormtroopers that I have seen in my area. I still need one more. Like many other people I plan to turn 2 of them into Han & Luke, but my son still wants a removable helmet Stormtrooper, so when I find another one I will buy it. Then I will replace the crappy perpetually looking up head with a Death Star Gunner head.
Then onto everyone's big complaint, the helmet. Good To Go Customs has an awesome Stortrooper helmet. They are out of stovk right now, but eventually they'll have 'em again. So for those of you who are not happy with the helmet that came with the TAC Stormie, that is a possible solution. Or you could use the POTF2 Stormtrooper Helmets! :P

I'm up to 9 currently
-
All the ones I have gotten, are stiff and the paint is nice. I'm just lucky I guess.
-
it could just be on the way the figures are taken out of packaging. i noticed when i just pulled the sand troopers out they would be really loose..but for two of them i cut the plastic off around them and they are stiff. or i could i have been lucky with that lol.
-
I'm up to a grand total of two. Just considering them for customs of Han and Luke. The Tantive IV Stormie is still the best version of the Stormtrooper for this army builder.
:P
-
Bought 3 more wave 3 Stormies today while on vacation, so I'm up to 5 of that version and another 4 of the tantive version.
-
I'm officially at 31.

HOW DO YOU DO THAT!?! :o
Well, I'm still at 1 and Id be fine with getting a few more, but Id actually be okay if I never see another again. 8)

I love it when guys like Anton (and most of us army builders in this thread) are in the hobby. Seriously, it's because of you guys that the hobby stays healthy for this many years. I laugh when I read how Hasbro thinks half the market is kid purchases! Really, if one person buys 31 of a figure that another only buys one of, how is it that kids supposedly make up half the business? Bravo to us (I know we do it for ourselves, not for Hasbro, but still) for keeping SW toys coming to the shelves!
-
I just got my first three, thanks to fellow collectors. I could not find these anywhere.
-
I laugh when I read how Hasbro thinks half the market is kid purchases!
Actually, Hasbro probably is right on that matter. The past few times I've been to Target, there is at least 2-3 younger kids checking out the basic figures, lightsabers, etc. After all, if the adult collectors don't buy the Luke, Mace, Obi-Wan, Anakin, and R2 repacks, then who does? Kids.
On the topic of the Stormtrooper, I've still got one. Likely all I'll buy (or find, for that matter). Though I still don't understand all the negative thoughts about this figure. It's essentially an improved repack of the VOTC Stormie, what's there to dislike? If you're not a fan of the Jango clone head, just leave the helmet on.
-

I have seen, surprisingly, a good number of kids buying SW toys, but I guess what I meant was that if some of us are buying a couple dozen of one character, then surely kids can't be half the market when likely they only buy one of each character. For myself, I get at least one each of the main OT characters and multiples of the army-builders. Already that should be more than any kid. I'd estimate my figure buying is equivalent to at least 3 kids, and there are far more high-spending collectors than me!
-
I am not really into this one too much I have a total of 6 and 2 I converted to Luke/Han. i prefer the Tantive Stormies for army building. I should start buying more of them......I only have 10.
-
Finally got my first over the weekend, but I must say I'm not too happy with him as he has a big fat nothing for accessories other than the basics, blaster and helmet. The head sucks big time. I'm not a big fan of the seal man look and I don't mean the special forces ::). This line is rounding out with less and less it seems. Even the TSC figures has stands. Now Hasbro is selling stands separately, what a load of crap. I don't if I want to get any more of these as I'm not to thrilled with the one I got. I'll have to wait and see if I find any more. Would be nice if they would do what they are with the E2 and E3 Clones. Man there are so many everywhere. I coulb build an army of about 75+ of each with one stop a Wal-mart.

14 thanks to another pair from Paul.
-
Yikes - 17 after a early morning trip to Target.
-
35 now. I was going to stop at 36, but I need one more for my Vintage/Modern display.
-
I don't think I have a limit on these - I'm still tempted to use two for the Luke/Han versions - but with Hasbro certain to release them later on, I don't see any need to spend $17 per right now.
-

Word from Curto is that they are coming.
-
I'm at my max of 37. Break down is: 32 to fill out a platoon of 36 (the other 4 being squad leaders represented by Tantive IV troopers,) 4 are custom Lts (Imperial rankings added to the armor) and 1 to stand in my Vintage/Modern counterpart display.
With 16 Tantive IV stormies, 59 VOTC Stormies and 37 Cleaned Saga Stormies I have a total of 148 Stormtroopers (including the 4 officers) making up 1 company of 4 of my official Imperial Battalion. Well over 210 if I included all my Commtech Stormtroopers and excess cleaned Saga Stormies I have up for trade.
-
I'll stop at 36. At that point I'll get rid of my Tantive IV and VOTC ones. I think this is a superior sculpt/update (to this point, there is room to improve) and in my collection that means everything that came prior has to go.
-
Sadly I'm only at 5 of these. Though I want to get 40 of them. You fellas that are stopping, could you help me out at all??
-
Ahem - if you're dumping Stormtroopers Paul, I know a local guy who wants some. Oh yeah, and that local guy is me.
-
I could use 5 more VOTC Stormies if a deal can be made...

got my first one today. cool figure. i am aiming for 8 more or maybe just even it out on 10 depending on how many i see...well atleast when i can actually get them up North that is.

Stormtroopers in Stock at HasbroToyShop.

I only picked up two, though I have seen plenty of them. I made the two I got into a trooper Luke and Han using the heads from the comic packs. I like the figure a lot, but I have a ton of stormies already.
-
A little OT, but I managed to acquire the last VOTC stormies I needed, so my Stormtrooper company is now complete:
64 VOTC
32 TAC
32 Saga (converted Sandtroopers)
16 Tantive IV (sergeants)
1 Lt. (TAC with rank insignia)

I stopped by TRU last night on my way home. They had a ton of Wave 3 figures with the exception of Jawas and McChewies. There were at least 18 Stormtroopers on the pegs. I somehow managed to pass on them all so I'm still sitting with 4.
-
I picked up another one last week, and I have one included in a HTS order that should be coming sometime this week, so I think that will put me at 6 total. I did head swaps with the Han and Luke comic packs to get some "normal" Stormtrooper versions of them. Otherwise, I'm leaning towards picking up another Tantive pack to get some more nice Stormies, just because all of the basic versions I have had so far are fairly loose and all of the helmets fall off quite easily. Granted, I could use some tacky or something to fix that, but we shouldn't really have to. It is hard to pass up Stormies when they are on the pegs for basic prices, it seems like it has been awhile since that has happened.
-
i am at 2 :) both in which i got from the states though.
-
Found 5 more and jumped to 23 today.
Since we're keeping score...
50 VOTC
23 30th
27 Commtech
8 From the Battle Pack.
And I think there are 2 or 3 Lucas Troopers mixed in.
-
My grand total of Stormies...
1 30AC
1 Commtech
Woo!

If you're looking to build your army, might I recommend army building with the Capture of Tantive IV Battle Pack Stormtroopers rather than the TAC versions. The TAC's tend to have some problems (one leg longer than the other, easy for the helmet to go missing, the center chest articulation is hard to hide) I am much happier with my battle pack stormtroopers.
-
Yeah, but the Tantive IV stormie doesn't have a holster. ;)
-
Yeah, but the Tantive IV stormie doesn't have a holster. ;)
isn't the entire belt wrong for the tantive stormy?
-
Yeah, but the Tantive IV stormie doesn't have a holster. ;)
isn't the entire belt wrong for the tantive stormy?
Yeah, but isn't there a problem with nearly every Star Wars figure? Besides that holster sucks. It's really not even a holster. It's just a plastic flap that you poke the gun through. Besides how often is a Stormtrooper's E-11 holstered? They're usually holding them in front of their chests or blasting something. I leave the blasters rubberbanded in my Stormies hands. It's easier than having to dig 'em out of the accesory bag and set 'em up. It's just there and ready to go.
-
I'm into the Tantive IV Stormie too. Just my favorite all around Stormie, if not all around army builder that's been made. I know it's not the most film accurate because of the belt, but I really don't mind. Also I wish he had a ball jointed waist, but again I'm ok without it. Something about this Stormie just seems "right" when I set them up in a diorama. I've got about 40 of them.
:P
-
I'm just a VOTC/TAC trooper fan myself. It better suits my needs in my diorama.
-
I just picked up 2 from HTS, with my McYoda order. Now I just need to find compatible Luke and Han heads...
-

VTSC Endor Han ought to work. I don't know about Luke. So far, many of the ball jointed head Lukes look really bad, nothing like Mark Hamill. Maybe one from the VOTC Line or VTAC Bespin Luke.
-
Why would you try to use anything other than the Comic Pack Han/Luke heads? We already know they fit on those bodies, and under those helmets nicely.
Found 2 more at lunch today - I'm at 26.
-
i actually found that the white stormy helmets dont fit on my comic pack luke and han :(
-
I bought 2 and have another coming from HTS. Even as a 99% OT purist, I'm really liking the head they gave the stormtrooper. :)

My preferences are VTSC Pilot Luke and VOTC Han, but would be fine with the comic pack heads - I'm just not willing to pay $20 to get 2 heads! Any customizers out there have a bag of extra heads? My main concern is getting the head on the peg, not too worried about the helmet fit on the actual head.
-
I'm just not willing to pay $20 to get 2 heads!
That's why I didn't do it either. That, and because I'd bet a dollar that Hasbro puts those heads on the new SA body soon enough anyway and we get the whole figure for $7.
-
I wonder if the Good To Go Customs Stormtrooper helmet would fit those heads?

Got two more tonight... Last two Target had.
I really don't see a problem with the helmet myself. I think it looks quite nice, and it's possible to get it to sit a variety of ways on the figure's head too. I'm perfectly content with this figure... Getting as many as I can find at this point.

Same here - you have to be looking pretty closely IMO to find problems with this guy. When the 30 or so of this guy is mixed in with 90 other stormtroopers, I won't be noticing his slightly puffy helmet or whatever.

I gotta agree too. The helmet doesn't look that bad to me. I have two of these. My only complaints are one of 'em has one leg longer than the other (but that's kind of a cool novelty) and I don't care for the scarred face. Jango was scarred by something that happened in his life. Although these are his clones, they wouldn't have the same scars because the same event did not happen to them. Does that make sense to anyone?

and I don't care for the scarred face. [/color]
Scarred face?
Hold the phone a second...
The helmet is removable? 8)
-
Looks like I landed 8 more today - at $3.00 each.
Go figure.
34 total.
-
What how? 3.00$ thats insane, tell me how you did it.
-
Beats the crap out of me - apparently the Wal-mart that Paul frequents is clearing out Wave 3 - and put out several fresh cases worth at the same time. It's lunacy, it's got to be some sort of mistake, but that's how they're ringing up.
-
You guys both have the most disgustingly insane luck with this hobby. :)
I got two over the weekend... I find them in two's and three's here and there, never more, sometimes less, and that's all... They're still very uncommon figures around Pittsburgh. Wave 3 in general is uncommon and you're lucky to see anything from it other than Biggs or Vader. For that matter, Wave 2 is difficult to find except Han or the Death Star Trooper. I've still yet to see a Rebel Guard on the pegs in a store!
This 30AC drought's getting really friggin' old because, not much is around anywhere, save for the Obi's/R2's and odd Mace's most people are used to.
-
If they keep that up Rob, snag me a few.

Amen brother! Darn Transformers - Taking all of Hasbro's attention! I'm waiting as patiently as I can for the Jedi Luke.
-
About the 30AC drought thing, I have a connection at Target who says that they've been doing their annual inventory over the past few weeks and will be doing it for a couple more. This means they have brought out all of May and June's old crap out from the back and it will sit there until it all sells. Once that happens, which in my area I can tell probably won't be long, you can expect to see tons of new TAC on the pegs; if you're in the right place at the right time, that is. Until then, Target's not the best place to look for new stuff. Hope this helps... :)
-
2 more arrived today from JACKOFTRADEZ in a trade. I'm digging finding more of them over time too... But at this point, I'm down for more of just about every army builder from 2007. It's been a REALLY pricey year with that aspect of collecting, and a SA Stormtrooper ain't helping. ;)

Finally got to download some pix...

There's 149 pieces on the board. Here's the break down:
64 VOTC
32 Saga 2 (cleaned Sandtroopers)
32 TAC
16 Tantive IV (Sergents)
4 TAC Lieutenants
1 Veers Captain
-
Nice!
I finally re-did the loose figure wall, and I finally got a solid count on my TAC Stormies - I'm sitting at 51 at the moment, plus 50 VOTC, 4 Tantive, and a handful of various other sculpts.
Anton - PM coming your way.
-
HOLY ****! Dude that is amazing.
in terms of the thread i am at 6 so far. Aiming for 10-15 in total now.
-
Damn you out class my TAC 3 Stormies, SL/TSC 2 Sandtroopers, TAc 1 Death Star Trooper, TSC 1 AT-AT Driver.
-
That repainted Veers in Stormtrooper officer colors looks really sharp! Very cool display, Anton. Your pic reminds me of just what a good figure that TSC Veers is compared with some of the other Imperial Officer offerings. The Ozzel sculpt is kind of weak in comparison.
As for your Stormtrooper display? WOW! I would have to combine all of my CommTech, VOTC and 30AC Stormtroopers to come close to what you've got on display there. I think I've only bought about a dozen or so 30AC Stormtroopers so far. Army building has subsided for me, somewhat.
