According to the guys at the medicom booth there will be more series.  :) No dates set yet, I think they must have been busy with the box set and 400% releases.

Nice! Thanks for the update.

I agree Dan, these guys have been the sharpest of the bunch by a long shot and that's probably why that blue Royal Guard is so disturbing.  We all had thoughts for the chase figures that weren't prequel figures.  I can understand that it might be a creative way to save on tooling costs, and if that was the decision maker, I'm just fine with that.  If it's a harbinger of the future, not so great.

I'm not about to up and drop the line, but a few PT figures will prevent me from ordering a full case.  I'd probably drop back to a box or perhaps even just track down a set without the chase figures.  I think a Maul could be neat but part of the draw for me to this line has been that intelligence Medicom has displayed by understanding the vintage line so well.  There's tons of companies out there doing prequel stuff but only one doing a really good homage to the vintage lineup (no disrespect to Hasbro's VOTC stuff, it's great).

Well, that's pretty hard-core that you'd cut back. I'm such an addict and a completionist that I wouldn't be as happy as if there were only OT figures, but I'd probably continue to collect them the same as always.

They're about 18 hours ahead of us, so it's less than that.

My Yakface arrived in the mail today, so since that series is now wrapped up and because I'm looking at Yak right now, I'll speculate:

Will we see more modern versions of figures creeping into the lines?
I hope not and admit I wish the Yak was a copy of the vintage line instead of the modern release.  It would certainly allow Medicom to extend the life of the OT figures in the line with more variation than appeared in the original vintage lineup.  And it's not like it hasn't happened before, the Vader had the Dagobah version down pretty well.

Will there be more PT figures?
I know some guys are anxious for them, but I really, really hope not.  That blue Royal Guard scares the crap out of me.  Sure, it's nice, but let's be realistic here, the PTs while completing the front end of the movies have a huge component in place that's pretty much nothing more than marketing.  Why did the stormtroopers only come in white when there was such a veritable rainbow of colors some 15-20 years before.  Yeah, I know, Lucas-ian revisionist history is going to have the 2010 release of the OT have all the stormtroopers in different colors, but it doesn't mean I support it.  I'm ok with EU to a small degree, but not revisionist history >:(

And speaking of EU, anyone think we might start seeing so EU based lines in the Kubrick at some point?  Or is that just Hasbro's pet fetish?  I think there's little need, but I really don't have much of a feel for how the Japanese market feels about the EU (or PT for that matter) and I think that drives the design and selection more than anything that happens elsewhere.

I wonder....

Agreed on all accounts. I was astonished and somewhat dismayed to see the Blue Guard, as cool of a figure as it is.

Picked up a Biker Scout at a local Star Wars shop here in town. They had the Imperial Guard and a couple others but none that I wanted. Now if I can just fine the TIE pilot. ::)

I may have a Tie Pilot kicking around...I'll check when I get a chance, and PM you.

There is a market place here, also maybe in the series 5 thread? Being 1 per box, he might be difficult to find on his own..
Cool. I'll refer him to the market place. I figure it'll be a difficult find though.

Thanks!

Is there a place or a thread on this board to post a wanted figure? I have a friend who is looking for a Red Snag, and doesn't know where to ask (beyond looking on eBay) now that kubrickworld is down.

Got this from Philnjill of KW (Darth Doug elsewhere)
From Founder:
"yeah Kubrick World is a bit DOA right now. The hosting service did a one-two with a failed hard drive then decided to close up shop. I'm in the process of getting back the files and look for a new hosting service! ouch."

Thanks for the info. Keep us upated.

I'm with you.
If people are upset then they just should not collect these things.
Nothing Medicom does should surprise anyone.(Snowtrooper in the box set among others)
If you don't know how they function by now then you should drop out.

Broken record but...we were not meant to even have these things, they are meant for the Japanese market.
They love chase figures, exclusives etc.

You think Kubricks are bad?
I hear horror stories from American collectors about other Japnese stuff.

I also heard other stuff as well about GG Bust Ups that would make you scream.
I say shut up and be happy with what you get.

CB

Well said. You're so right man. In fact, there are even some American toy lines that I hear collectors bitching about, in terms of availability of certain figures and the rarity of chases.

Basically, collect what makes you happy, not what gets you frustrated. Isn't the point of it all to have fun?

"the server crashed. He is trying to get it back up, I'm going to try and help him temporary host it until he can find a new server. We'll see what we can do. Just thought I'd keep you guys posted. "

JD guys, sorry to post this stuff here, if you guys want it removed I am sure we all understand.

Adam

Kubricks / Re: Carded Kubricks

Just because there is a separate thread for the Carded Kubricks now...

*snip*

Can't wait to see if we get a few more in 2007... and before you ask, I have no plans to open them.   :P

Sweet pic Jeff...holy smokes!

I only really want a few of the carded Kubricks, but only for openers. I would love to get a Droids Fett, Black Stormtrooper, Droids R2 and Holo Leia. But I'm not in a rush to get them, and the prices never seem right to me.
