1:6 Scale Figures and Collectibles / Decisions- have Darth Vader, do I want Anakin too?

Hey everyone!   I ended up missing out on the first Anakin 12" from Sideshow and end up on the waitlist.   I then picked up the Darth Vader- Sith Apprentice figure but never cancelled the waitlist.   I just got the notification that my waitlist (non-exclusive) will convert to an order soon.   I was hoping folks could shed some light on how different the two actually are and voice their opinions on whether it's worth having a light and dark Anakin other than being completist.

Ok.. so you freed them from the boxes, played around with various poses, alternate hands, saber hilts etc... and have them on display.    What are doing in terms of the boxes?   They're too pretty to just trash, and provide the perfect home for those accessories you AREN'T displaying.   I'm an opener mainly cause I like 'em that way, but also for conserving space but I can't just get rid of these great boxes!

Celebration IV: Los Angeles / Carrie Fisher signing... which figure?

4.5 days and counting until my plane leaves for LAX and I have yet to decide on a figure to bring down to get Carrie to sign.   Anyone have any thoughts?   I'm leaning towards the OTC Leia Bespin figure at this point but I'm so torn!  I suppose I could bring MULTIPLE figures but I'm already bringing my Decipher CCG Oversized Slave Leia card for signing and I'm not sure I want to go beyone $70 at this point.

So which Leia?  VOTC? POTF2 macho? POTJ Bespin Escape? One of the 2-packs? Flashback Madness?

Taking opinions until Tuesday!    ;D

Saga Collection '06 / "The Great Unboxing of 2006"

Hey everyone.. not sure where exactly this should've gone but...

It's started.....

I'm freeing all of my boxed vehicles, 12" figures, and various other items from their cardboard prisons.

Last night: Kit Fisto's Ship, Mace's Ship, Obi's ship (ROTS), TIE Interceptor, TIE Bomber, B-Wing, SAGA Green A-Wing, POTJ Snowspeeder with Dak and Luke, and last but not least, Zev's Snowspeeder.

What will be set free tonight..................?

As a musician, I've always loved the Modal Nodes and the Max Rebo Band (original not SE) and I remember getting pretty excited about a rumor that Hasblo was going to make a 12" Max Rebo Band set.   Of course, that never came to fruition but how about SideShow doing one?  It'd fit into the whole Jabba's Palace motif they've already got going!   

That'd be sweeeeeeet!

Newbies / Hello from VA!

Hey everyone!

Glad to have signed up for the forums here finally!   I've been collecting for a long time and used to be a completist with the 3 3/4 line but have since re-defined my collecting needs to only "new" figures or "radically different sculpts" of existing characters... Hasbro's just made me sick with the deluge of repacks.   

I used to play all the Decipher SW card games, for some reason am STILL playing SWGalaxies, have recently started collecting the FX sabers and am thrilled that the Unleashed have come back in their original form. 
  I also collect  the 12" figures or "dolls" and am quite happy with Sideshow's first product and have been collecting the WOTC SW Minis since they were released (though I don't get to skirmish very often).     

I hope to peruse the forums in depth and am looking forward to spending time at JD!
