Nichelle Nichols crossed the great barrier today.  Now there’s just three main characters from the original trek series/movies.

That was fun.  Lots of possibilities and directions it can go now.

Star Wars just went into full on Marvel story telling mode.  I can't wait to see how this is going to go.

I think I may have said this back, or perhaps in another group...

I came into this show with no expectations.  The plot has moved very slow, but the past two episodes have been really good IMO.  I think Star Wars might be going the way of Marvel and having a bunch of little plots and stories develop that will eventually be tied together.  I certainly hope that's the case.  They definitely have the right guy driving steering the ship..now if we can just get KK to get out of her own way...

There was a hint at the end of the show that this is the case.

Yep.  That's what got me a little excited.  Lot's of Mandos out there to play around with.

I knew the show wouldn't continue to drag, and this episode certainly did not disappoint.  I came into the series with very limited expectations but until this episode thought the show did nothing but drag and go on and on.  I'm glad it finally picked up and seems to be going somewhere.

I wonder if Disney is going to do with SW what they did with Marvel and ultimately have several of these shows tie together?  That would be pretty cool if they did.  I can also see how The Mandalorian might tie together with the Fett series.

Indiana Jones and the Search for the Lost Walker

God I hope this is good, but I'm skeptical just because I felt the last one was so bad.

I have similar concerns Chris.  They have the second and final season of World Beyond starting this week (I think) and that is supposed to be a direct lead in to the Rick Grimes movies.  I fully expect Rick and Michonne to show up in the Walking Dead series finale and those movies need to happen pretty quick to explain what Rick's been doing since he "died" in the show.

Are you watching World Beyond? I gave it about an episode and decided it was just terrible with poor acting, directing, etc.  I won't go back.  However, I've really enjoyed FTWD in recent seasons.

If you did not watch last night's episode, even if you haven't watched the show in a while, go watch it!  They put a lot of great horror elements in it and using Connie's perspective (she's deaf, so they removed the sound), it was done brilliantly.  Then I saw that the episode was directed by Greg Nicotero, so it made sense.

That was pretty cool.

Overall, I can't decide how I feel about this season.  We're what 5 or 6 episodes in and while we can see the bad guys, what's the point?  The episodes don't feel like fillers for once, but at the same time I'm not even sure where they are going.  We've got 24 episodes, so they better start evolving and moving the story quick if they want to tie the finale up all nice and neat...unless they are planning to do something with the movies.

The movies though, they haven't even started production and are just looking at scripts.  If they wait too long, which I fear they have, then the movies might flop just because people will have lost interest.  This isn't Marvel, I don't think they can run TV shows into movies and vice versa.

I'm mixed on moving forward with Marvel.  I'm sure there stories will be great, but it will be hard to get past not seeing the Avengers  It kills me that we won't have Cap and Iron Man as we have known them.

Actually, there was a nuclear meltdown two seasons ago.  How there wasn't one on the nuclear sub is beyond me!

Really?  Which episode?

Finally watched the last two episodes and actually enjoyed them.  For the most part I've enjoyed this season far more than the last few of TWD.  Matt, I wasn't a nuke guy (but I've read enough to be familiar with them), but I was wondering the exact same thing.  Honestly, I've wondered why we haven't had a nuclear meltdown to this point anyway.

As for the timeline, I have no idea where it falls.

The episode with Grace giving birth did not hold my attention too much.  I did not care for it outside the cult dude attacking them.  Morgan should've killed him when he had the chance...that's going to come back to bite them in the ass.

Isn't that the Walking Dead formula?

The last two weeks have been pretty solid, if not a bit rough and hard.  I'm hoping these are leading to a great story and ultimately a great battle.

I know it models the comics, but count me among those that don't love Sam as the new Cap.  I like the way they did it, but I would have liked to see Bucky with the shield instead.  Plus his costume is a little cornball.  That said, I think this is exactly the right time to do a story where a black American finds a way to represent a government that has not been historically kind to people of color.  It felt a little forced at times, but hopefully it sends a positive message to those that need to hear it.

I liked the series overall, but didn't love it.  The chemistry with Sam and Bucky is great and Zemo was awesome.  I could have used more setup with Sharon Carter - how did she get to where she's at now as the Power Broker?  That's a big change from the PB's storyline in the comics.  I also didn't really understand what the Flag Smashers were fighting for.  They want things to go back to how they were before all the Blip people came back, but what did they want to do with all the blip people?  I wish they had come up with a better motivation for these guys - or maybe I'm the only one that really didn't get what they were fighting for.

Curious to see what happens to Walker next.  He kind of redeemed himself at the end (happy ending!), but I thought he was better as a mentally unstable rogue agent.  I would have liked to see him lose everything versus just a court martial, then have some shady government agency scoop him up as a black-ops punisher-style super agent.  As it stands, he looks like just another super strong hero to jump around in the background.  JLD as Val was a nice surprise, as was seeing the raft.  I think we're heading towards a Raft break-out eventually, which would be a fun storyline to watch.

Agreed with just about all of that, especially in regards to Sam's outfit.  That was just weird.  And yeah, the societal commentary seemed a bit forced at times and I wish it would have been more subtle and nuanced.  I think it would have a bigger effect.  And yes, some folks need to hear that.  I was a bit confused about why Bucky's arm seemed to be "under powered" and incapable of doing some things, especially in that last battle.  I know he was fighting some other folks with the super serum, but he seemed to be underwhelming compared to the way we've seen him in previous movies.

I'm not up on the comics, so I have no idea how everything ties together.  I hope to see a ton more of Bucky and Sam in the next set of movies.  I've always been a fan of those two.

All in all, I'll rank this series ahead of Wandavision as far as holding my interest.  I'm looking forward to the next series of events.
