So, JJ heard a rumor on 1:18th about a western line. My hopes are up that it is successful.

Ok, there are so many more details that I will share later when Jesse does his exclusive interview, but long story short.
I've started a western line, with the help of Boss Fight doing the Art, former industry pros doing the digital sculpts, I'm excited. We are debuting it at Joe Con tomorrow. But you guys get the scoop first.

This is apparently getting a butt-ton of press though Paul, congrats. Gonna whip up something here for us tonight/later tomorrow.

Our own coverage of this story is up and features some details. Paul's shared quite a bit with us and it's incredible really. This is the kind of line I can really get into, and I think a lot of other collectors can as well. The customizability alone intrigues me on it actually. A mix/match style for some basic swaps is pretty interesting and would lend itself well to allowing collectors to easily make their own character with minimal effort.
Wish more lines were like this, quite frankly. It only takes some standardization.
Hoping I didn't miss a detail there. Wanted the story to be up tonight once Paul sent me the information. :)
It's awesome Paul, and I really hope it works for you. I know this is something you've wanted for a long time and this transcends being just a line you think could be successful. It's also something near to you, and I know I plan to help out once the Kickstarter campaign is set up!

I think we have the kinks worked out, the page is public now. Kickstarter in just over 30 days.
We ended up with 15 figures in the First wave/series/run.
No "Missouri Train Robber" YET.... but he is on the drawing board.
If you post anywhere other than here, please share this. We are running it pretty tight, but that means a pretty low number to make it a reality. I've told JJ this, but truth be told, I'm not looking to make any $$ on this first wave(other than what I have put in), I want a line of Cowboy Action Figures, so basically if I can get enough people to buy a "Marshall", I can get my copy for free.

They potentially have a "Prairie Wife" and a "School Marm" slotted into one of the upcoming waves. Also, I think I saw something about a shopkeeper's wife/widow type figure too.
Lady Gunfighters/Cowgirls are probably further down the list it sounds like since anything they make has to be usable across 2 or more different figure types...

I think my bro may be going all in. Depends what his car situation is by then but he and I are both excited about it.
I'm shocked if a "calamity jane" doesn't make wv2 list. Shes well known etc.
Paul's put a lot of his heart and wallet into this already I think. I'm hopeful it's working out because I like to see good people succeed and Paul is as honest and genuine a guy as I've met in the hobby of collecting. Not to kiss your ass too much Paul, but seriously I hope this works out man.
Plus I wanna buy Wild West toys. :)

It's awesome Paul, and I'm glad that the out-of-the-gate numbers are spiked like that. I hope it keeps going along and gets fulfilled. I'm really wanting this line to be a reality, as much for you as my own greed. I know it's been a big deal for you to get this made, and I think it's the unique kind of thing collectors are looking for. Like HACKS touched on something different and new, I think this line's exciting because it's a new world to explore/collect, not the same old same old.

Diddly, any of them are winners (except the ones with my headsculpt: Head Honcho, Trail Hand, Marshall and Yarna d'al' Gargan )...
As we unlock more there are some great ones too.
And not to discourage participation, there will be leftovers on the yet unbuilt website for sale too.

I think now that it is has gone from "Dream" to "Reality" it will get at least the first Figure unlocked.
I'm hoping for more, but thrilled to this point for sure.
At least the first 7 will get done. We may have to do a Wave 1.5 to get the first 15 (16 now with KP Trooper) out to the folks, but this was the biggest hurdle.
And now I can actually work on the Horse without thinking it is a waste of time.

OK, I finally scrimped up enough pennies over the past few weeks to go ALL-IN! Changing up that all-in package to guarantee 10 figures plus the Badlands Vigilante was too temping to pass up. ;D
Really looking forward to these, Paul. Also looking forward to re-arranging parts from Buckaroo #1 to custom up a certain fictional TV cowboy figure. Wasted a ton of time as a kid making my little brother ride Tonto to my Ranger.
Also looking forward to seeing how I can re-arrange the parts to get me some Deadwood and/or Westworld figures too. And, based on some of the comments I saw on the Facebook group, I've also started trying to track down extra Sam Elliot and Daniel Craig figures (Golden Compass) for potential customs too. Harrison Ford heads, I seem to have lots of extras of those. (Cowboys and Aliens!) :P

I really wanted to toss in some extra for some extra spud buckets, guns, and such, but the all-in was a $ stretch for me as it is. I'll have to hope I can get some of the gun/loot packs once they make it to the online store in the next phase. :-\

The buckaroos and Boot Hill loot are our ways to get enough pieces for even the non-customizers to be able to cobble together a few figures from all your favorite media.
There are some parts guys that will be selling head sculpts that match our neck ball (all our male figures have the exact same ball and post). I think even one for that figure you are making.

I really wanted to toss in some extra for some extra spud buckets, guns, and such, but the all-in was a $ stretch for me as it is.
Magnificent Seven was on cable last night... watched it and wanted these figures more than ever.
Pinched some pennies while watching Deadwood re-runs today (for more inspiration) and figured out a way to upgrade my pledge to the $800 "Gimme-Two-Steps" level, which includes 3x each of the ten basic figures from the all-in package. That deal per figure just can't be beat in that package, especially adding in the bonus Vigilante figures, Buckaroo blanks, and gear packs. I also had enough to add some extra $ to get the extra spuds and guns I wanted.

Sounds like the backetkit is finally coming soon. Been saving up some pennies... I'm already into this line at the "Gimme-Two-Steps" level, but can't resist buying more beer mugs, barrels, weapons, and blanks.
I have so many customs I want to try out (Harrison Ford/Cowboys and Aliens; Man from Snowy River, etc). Can't wait to see the backer kit! (And can't wait for Stagecoach and horses and series 2 too!) :)

And, yes - I know $28 is a lot for 4" scale figures but it's a very small company trying to get something very niche (4" super-articulated western figures) off the ground basically because of their love for that niche and nothing more. Production runs will be very small and ALL of the profits are being poured into the development costs for wave 2 (and horses and potentially vehicles/playsets).

Want to add in an extra nod of endorsement here.
This line's shaping up to be pretty special. This is the direction collecting has gone to the "adult" market, and you gotta pay to play, more or less, but if these companies are making AMAZING toys, it's worth it to me. The Chicken Fried Toys Dime Novel Legends line is a labor of love by the line's creator/dreamer, and it shows in the details on these.
Who here DIDN'T love cowboys and indians in one form or another? Now you have a collector-focused action figure line for said boyhood daydreams.
These lines being pushed BY like-minded collectors, is what it's all about to me. Toys the way you want them... I've been shunting an increasing chunk of my toy budget to this kind of stuff, and I'm never disappointed I did so. Star Wars still gets some money from me, but these get a lot of my $ because they're just amazing, they're collector-focused and driven, and they're making well rounded amazing collections unto themselves.
I backed this kickstarter too, and will be picking up some extras with the pre-order.

Kudos again to Paul and the Chicken Fried crew for dreaming up a toy line, jumping head first into creating it via kickstarter, and hitting the finish line. I know if was a long road from the 2016 kickstarter, but it's so cool to finally have the finished product in my hands. Can't wait for wave 1.5 with Horses and to see what else we can get in Wave 2!
Next step will be trying to figure out what I need to trade Jesse to get one of his personalized sculpt figure heads to create my own 4" Jesse figure. Maybe make him a 'lil penguins sweater or something... :P

My kids' summer sports are finally winding down, which gives me some time to start really digging into these figures.
Whipped up my first custom last night - Classic Clayton Moore Lone Ranger! Looking forward to whipping up a few more figures this week/weekend.

Not sure anyone else is interested in old west cowboy action figures, but the next batch of Dime Novel Legends figures from Chicken Fried Toys are now available for pre-order on their website (https://chickenfriedtoys.com/).
These were the five figures that were not unlocked during the original kickstarter. We didn't get them then, but we're getting to buy them now - $28 each or $125 for the set of five.
I know $28 is expensive for 3.75" figures, but the price is pretty consistent for small-scale niche collector lines like this at the edition sizes for the figures. Hoping to see the line grow - there will be more figures and even horses coming next year! :)

$28 is cheap to me haha. Acid Rain are rarely u set $30 and some over $40.
These cowboys are an easy buy for me. Unique and stunningly accurate with details. I really am hoping this line continues to expand. I’m really hoping they go to US Civil War at some point. I feel like there is a mine there begging to be tapped.
These new figures are awesome. Bat Masterson is incredibly well done in particular!
