I still really like the Slave 1
so I perfer the Shadows Slave1. I
like the purple box
Whats your favorites
-
I like the Tatooine Skiff. Next would be the AT-AT Walker.
I never had them originally but now I have vinty & new. :)
-
I like the AT-ST, AT-AT, Slave I, and the Falcon. The only OT ships I had were the Falcon, Snowspeeder, and a TIE Fighter. The Vintage ships were a lot better than the newer ones. Almost all of them had lights and sounds. ;D
-
I'd have to say my current favorite ship today would be the AT-AT. It's just enormous, has awesome sound effects, and comes with 2 awesome figures (General Veers and AT-AT Driver).
-
Wow, revisiting the love of the POTF2 ship...
I have 2 that I'd label as "good". One that I'd label great for what it is actually.
I'm a ship nut by the way, and that's my focus in customizing right now while I perfect my casting technique and ability...
My 2 choices are the A-Wing and the T-16 Skyhopper...
The A-Wing is great because for a 1985 sculpt the thing holds it's own against even the TIE Bomber of today... It's deco is accurate to a film prop (Almost 100% accurate actually) and the pilot pack-in wasn't great, but there's worse. It's based on the maquette pilot instead of the actual actor's costume from Home One or cockpit shots, so I'm still itchin' for a new and accurate pilot on the card some day.
The best thing of the A-Wing though is that it's actually a TO SCALE ship... Not only that, it's a to-scale ship made from a vintage mold. You REALLY don't see that ever these days, so it's a welcome vehicle to me and that's why I welcome the Saga EU deco.
The T-16 I nominate because it's scale is arguably accurate (There's 2 proposed "sizes" from ILM, and the toy fits one of the 2). It's a new sculpt, fairly simple, VERY accurate to Luke's model he's seen playing with, and other than the cockpit interior I think it's pretty spot-on... I even like the cockpit interior a lot, just it could be better.
Other vehicles in the POTF2 range disappoint me because of their retread feel and they weren't improved much... Vader's TIE would get an honorable mention though as a great new vehicle from the POTF2 range.

I'm right there with you on this one. It was hard for me to find, and at a reasonable price too. Maybe those two are related somehow given that I passed on all the ships initially ::)
This is just a cool, cool vehicle. Huge, maybe not quite to scale, but just awesome. Goes well with the Action Fleet and Tomy versions for a display.
got the AT-AT and T-16 for $70 Cdn shipped ;D
-
I had always wanted an AT-AT since I was a kid, so It was always my favorite. I may have to get a vintage one, although I don't mess with vintage vehicles. Jjust to sate the kid in me.
-
If I had to choose one POTF2 ship to call my favorite....hmmm... that's tough...and a tie between the Skiff and the Awing....both were awesome pieces.
Vintage choice is easy...the ATAT.....I have three vintage ATAT's ;)
-
I kind of like the Bwing. Its just an awesome uniquely designed ship.
-

How about hooking me up with one of those vintage AT-AT's? ;D

Well, I would, but the Emporer had strict orders for the detachment of Imperial Forces kep those three ATAT's and soldiers implaced......Rebels are strong in that area of Hoth ;)
-
Thanks Brian... :'(
-
Oh no man, don't do that......you'll make me cry :-[
Honestly, I rarely trade any of my vintage stuff off once I get it....I'm a serious horder when it comes to ships.......I love vintage stuff so much.
-
I was just teasing Brian. But, when you decide to part with your stuff (if that ever happens), make sure I'm on the top of your list for those AT-AT's and other vintage stuff. ;D

I'll definatly keep you in mind bro.....but I'm hoping to be buried with the vintage Stuff I have now.......of course this means I'll need to be buried iin a U-haul moving truck.....but hey, whatever ;)

The AT AT hands down is the best vehicle in my opinion. However...as far as "Ships" go, the Power FX X-Wing fighter wins that title. The electronics make it so cool, and if it only had a couple of the features (hole for R2 and storage) that the Saga X-wing had....it would be the perfect X-Wing.
Either way, it's still head and shoulders above anything else IMHO.
-
Hmm, that's kind of tough. I'd have to go with the Power FX X-Wing as a ship. For actual vehicle, I'd have to go with either the AT-AT, or the Skiff. Two of the best vehicles made, IMO.
-
Tough question. I have two POTF2 AT-ATs, but that's not my overall favorite.
I think the Millenium Falcon is it, at least for today. I always wanted one of those and when I finally got one, it blew me away with how cool it was.
-
For me, it's a tie between the Tatooine Skiff and the Y-Wing. Both are pretty good.
-
Huh, that's funny, I thought the skiff was one of the worst. It's just so.....basic. Reallly not that much to it, particularly given what they go for. I'm happy to have it and all, but I don't think it rates in the top five.
-
For me, I really like the way they packaged the skiff, for one. It really added to the presentation. The action levers are pretty good, too. They actually work.
-
Ah, that may explain the difference. I got mine loose. I have never seen one up close in the package. Pics look cool, but that's irrelevant. The levers do indeed work, it just seemed so plain to be so hard to get and so desirable. I did get a very good price on it though. I presume the vintage is not so good?
-
The vintage one's identical to the modern, except in the paint deco and packaging of course. It functioned just as well even.
It's one of the rarest vehicles of the line though, and oddly so is it's modern counterpart (Though some areas received tons of these, to the point they clearanced... At the time, some parts of the U.S. didn't even have Target stores, including my area, while other areas with Targets got sparse shipments of the item).
-
I'd have to go with the AT-AT too. I didn't have one when they originally came out, so it has always been the Gran-dady of all toys to me. I picked one up the second I found it in a Toys R Us. I thought the Falcon was really cool too. Third would probably be Darth Vader's Tie Fighter. I had to have one, Vader is the best!
-
I think the appeal factor is pretty up there for me, when it comes to the Skiff. I had a hard time getting mine, first of all. And then, considering how expensive the original is, in the vintage line. Those are some of the things that elevate the Skiff for me.
-
The AT-AT is my favorite vehicle for any toy line, bar none.
-
As far as vehicles go, the AT-AT is far superior in my mind, but for a ship I was always partial to Darth Vader's TIE Fighter. :D
-
I have to agree with everone in saying the AT-AT... It is an incredible vehicle and the two pack-in figures are a nice bonus! I really like the FX X-Wing also, best one to date in my opinion. Don't have the Saga version yet, so my opinion on that may be changed...
-
My favorite ship is the millenium falcon.I sure wish they had made the deluxe version like they did with the X wing.
-
can we say walkers because my favourite one is AT-AT walker
& my favourite ship is the republic gunship or imperial shuttle
wait a wing actually its cool because 1 crases in to the super star destroyer and that crashes in to the death star
-
I'd choose the B-wing or Y-wing but weren't those POTJ ships?
For the one ship I know is definitely POTF2, I go with the A-Wing.
Runner up: Tatooine skiff.
EDIT: Okay, the B-wing was POTJ, the Y-wing was POTF2.
I think i'll stand pat with "A-Wing" as my selection.
-
AT - AT
I also happen to like Vaders Tie and the A-Wing as well, if it reallly has to come down to ships ;D
-
Y-Wing 'fo sure
-
A-Wing and Interceptor, without a doubt...
A-Wing is to-scale, has freaking pop-rivets even sculpted on... It's simply amazing. Give it a decent pilot, and a good paintjob, and that sculpt holds up even against the likes of "X-Treme Detail" 1:18 airplanes and other items of the lik.e
The A-Wing just was a nice ship when it was made, which has lasted even today. THat's a rare quality in a vintage sculpt.
The Interceptor's my close runner-up, again because it's in-scale. It slightly lags behind the A-Wing because the cockpit pod is of course inaccurate. Beyond that it's close enough to suit me.
Give it a rounded (noo battery box) pod and it's at least a tie with the A-Wing... I'd ALMOST like to see it re-released, but only if it were DEFINITELY the same color as the current Interceptor is. I don't want them looking like shite next to each other.
The TIE from KB was supposed to be properly colored, but low and behold Hasbro made it SLIGHTLY different. Enough that you can't swap it with the Int's wings.
A shame.
Beyond these 2 vehicles, I am not fond of most of the POTF2 range, or POTJ. Underscaled is many of the vehicle's major issue(s), but some are simply terribly sculpted... The Y-Wing comes to mind there.
The Speederbikes and Snowspeeder are the rare breed that are overscaled. Wish we'd get a new one of each of these too.
With a new Ewok Glider, maybe a new "simpler construction" Speederbike will happen? Who knows.
-
I'm gonna go with the Falcon
It was my favorite ship in the movies and i was in heaven the day i got this even though you can't put two figs in it properly it still rocks
-
I cast my vote for the Power F/X Xing, beautiful sculpt and the lights and sounds are outstanding.
-
This maybe sound odd, but my favorite POTF2 vehicle is the Cruise Missile Trooper. The only vehicles "new" to the POTF2 line was the Cruise Missile Trooper, the EU ones and the Swoop bike. The AT-AT is my favorite vintage vehicle. ;D

I'm inclined to agree with Anthony here. That FX X-Wing was really nice. The only thing that could've possibly made it any better would've been some type of mix 'n' match red stripes, signifying the specific pilot (Red 1, Red 5, etc.) That, and no dedicated pilot in there. I know that'd cause a problem with the likes of a fatass figure like Porkins, so they'd have to adjust the cockpit a little, or something. Or just include some interchangeable heads in there...
Great ship though.

Not really, I got a Porkins in there (waist up) with an R5 unit in the droid socket. I'll show you next time you're over.

I relly like the SOTE slave 1 and the at-at walker. I also like the y-wing but I can't even find the new toys r us one or the older POTF one.
