Kubricks / Re: 400% Kubricks
« on: July 29, 2006, 07:43 AM »
Thanks for the heads up! I just placed my order-

I have never dealt with BBTS before, but have seen many good comments on the boards. Any concern about not fulfilling? Should I be looking to "hedge my bet" elsewhere?

I like that R5 unit, and Lando General would be nice as well. I wonder if he would be a chase figure for the ROTJ loaded wave 7? But now that I am thinking about a hooded up Obi Wan, I really want to see one.

I love the idea of spirit Yoda, Death Star Droid, and Captain Antilles. I would like to see them stick a Hoth Leia in there, but maybe she's best saved for the Series 8 I want to see, (all ESB with snowtroopers up the ying-yang). Obi Wan with a modified Jedi Luke robe (two-tone) so we get a hood-up obi would be nice. I'm afraid the 5th is just about bound to be an ewok...

Re: the Wedge figure- I'm sorry you got a dud box from our common Kubrick pimp. JediJaybird hit the Tarkin, and I got the Wedgies. I gave him one in trade for a cool Hoth background poster he had printed out for me-

I almost forgot- I came on here to find out when past years TRU exclusive sets have been announced- are we not having one for 2007?

Auctions like that tick me off. I'm glad you had good luck Brent, but when someone is willing to cut the rules corners to save a couple of dollars, I don't want to deal wtih them. If he's willing to overtly screw ebay it speaks to the character of the seller- a snake doesn't have to bite everybody for me to try avoiding it.

Other Collectibles / Re: Your Interest in the Star Wars Lines

Kubrick is my # 1 now, but that is mainly because Hasbro has released just about everything I want now, if not more. I will still pick up some new grunts and great sculpts  (C-3PO with knees), but one of everything stopped about 5 years ago for me.
I will get every Galactic Hero, unless they start putting 1 or 2 new ones with 6 I already have.
A few OT gentle giant busts will get picked up- I don't know that I will even get the bounty hunters unless they make plans to release another Fett-
I like to have an example of just about every line, so a bust up here and there, a few lego items (that Jabbas barge is looking tempting), doing it up like that.

My problem is will-power. Momaw Nadon got bought, even though I have 3 already- he just seemed worth it. But with just over a thousand loose modern figures, it has to stop sometime.

Mine showed up yesterday, along with another local JD'er, so I guess shipping by region is correct. We were both lucky and they showed up in fine shape, despite using mailer boxes that look meant for something much smaller.

Wow Yujun, that is a strange case you ended up with there. I hope it all works out all-right.
My Veers arrived, so 6 is done. I have to think about that Sacul figure, that's some pretty big scratch for a different head, and I hate to keep it carded-

Ningyoushi has the Vader 400% on preorder for $120.00, $50.00 down (Thanks to Jedijaybird for that tip). No refund unless they cannot fill the order, so it may be worth a little wait to see who else will be selling them.

I tried to get hooked up with Robbyjp, but didn't meet their volume qualifications.

My master case was the same way- on 3 of the 4 boxes the glue had let-go on the bottom flap. It would have been very easy to tamper with box assortments if I were splitting them to sell.
But since you got a Veers it sems very unlikely they were cherry-picking the boxes-

I hope there are at least 3-4 more series of OT (through 2007 at least). If they switch to prequels, I'll still buy them, I will just order single boxes instead of master cases.

Very nice!

Does he have the lightsaber hole in his hip like Wedge?
