Title: Captain America: Winter Soldier: The Toys!
Post by: Scott on July 21, 2010, 09:24 AM
I am really excited for this weekend as it should be our first glimpse at Cap toys.  I don't expect a full onslaught ala Spidey/Hulk/Iron Man but I do expect them to do something.  With the WII/military aspect of this film it will be cool to see if they can incorporate any failed or retooled Indy stuff into the line

wow - I had no idea that these could already possibly be debuted this weekend - that is pretty exciting!

I wasn't sure if we'd see something or not, but it would be cool if we did.  I'm wondering how big of a lull SW will have next year, as Hasbro has a lot of licensed stuff (possibly) going on with Thor, Cap, and Transformers.  Plus, there is X-Men: First Class, but it is being put together so quickly who knows if it will get a toyline or not.  A Cap line (with movie and comic series, like IM) could be pretty cool though.

After the way Hasbro screwed up the Iron Man and Wolverine lines, I have very low expectations. We'll get an awesome comic Cap I'm sure, but we'll also get a million crappy Cap repaints that nobody would possibly want. The line will pegwarm for 6 months and that'll be it.

I myself just want a kickass accurate comic version of Cap since the Marvel Universe attempts were missing details.

I'm hoping for the same sort of thing as the Iron Man and Wolvie lines, that being a separate comic series line on top of the movie line. Here's hoping they'll have learned their lesson from the last two bombs though and not pack in a million Caps with no villains. A nice comic Cap, maybe a new Bucky, Red Skull, Hydra Soldier, Baron Zemo, maybe Crossbones or somthing? That would be neat.

Only one figure, but Hasbro put out a Cap movie figure (http://www.actionfigureinsider.com/main/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/photo37.jpg) today at SDCC, alongside some of the Thor movie figures (pic courtesy of AFI).

Nice! It will be interesting to see to what lengths they go, especially as others have said, being burned by lots of toy lines in the past 3-4 years

A little closer picture HERE (http://thefwoosh.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=96&t=63985&start=15) in the Fwoosh forums, looks pretty good to me.

Yeah, I'm curious to see how things will go as well.  It seems to me that these lines could be pretty successful, and we can all see the problems with them.  But then again, I guess we maybe don't know enough about the inner workings of a toy company/line.  I think that if they were a little more conservative with the number of main character versions (like 50 Iron Men) and included more secondary/villains, it would help a lot.  I would have thought Iron Man had a lot of potential to be a successful line, but it doesn't seem like it has done much better than the others.

When you think about it, you are really right on the nose Scott.  Despite what they might admit publically, there really hasn't been a stellar record with Hasbro's movie lines lately.  I think the first Iron Man line did well enough, but it was a lot more conservative than typical movie lines.  The first Transformers I think was a pretty big success as well.  Other than that...not so good.  Indy, GI Joe: Rise of Cobra, Spider-Man 3, Wolverine, Hulk, and even Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen have all been pretty poor sellers after the initial "rush" it seems.  Plus, it seems like character selection and shipping amounts could do a lot to fix that.  I mean, for the most part, I'd say the actual toys themselves have been pretty good (at least in Indy, the Joes, Iron Man 2, or even much of Wolverine), it is just the waves of only the main character and his variations.

Looks sweet, I'll be looking forward to these for sure! Iron Mans toyline failure is kind of baffling, in the sense that I can't beleive they managed to screw that one up. I mean here's a movie line where having multiple versions of the main character actually makes sense, what with all the different in movie suits, but the case ratios, and saving all the secondary characters till wave 5 (finally getting HAMMER drones) was just a stupid move. They sold well initially, and then instead of having new cases of new figures to put out when the original waves were sold, they send out wave 3, which had 1 Whiplash and a bunch of repacks. I really hope they don't screw up again, cuz these lines have a lot of potential to be loads of fun.

Just saw this (http://www.marvelousnews.com/index.php?catid=23&itemid=13617) over at Marvelous News, some GG scans used in making the Cap movie figure.  Ridiculous amount of detail, hopefully the final figures reflect that.

Comic Book Movie (http://comicbookmovie.com/fansites/comicfigurenews/news/?a=29173) has a pic montage up of some of the upcoming Captain America movie/comic figures.  I'm sure we'll get a better look at things at Toy Fair.

I hope they don't kill this line with 99% of it being Captain America... need to make the other characters too.  That's what helps make Star Wars and GI JOE so successful - variety!

I guess the multiple versions of the same hero works for Hasbro. Despite what we see lingering on the shelves, they had the same attitude for Wolverine, Iron Man, and Spider Man. If it was a poor way of doing things, I imagine that they would've altered their strategy.

I'm left wondering if the "multiples of the hero" thing is Hasbro's decision or something Marvel wants done with their toy lines.

The vehicles shown here in the Toy Fair gallery are hilarious. Good custom fodder for some people, maybe.

I suppose they include a barely articulated Captain America like the Iron Man series had barely poseable driver figures. I don't understand that. Is it cheaper to make a different, less poseable mold than just reusing the ones in the carded series? Must be.

I have a bad feeling about this line at retail.  Bad feeling about Thor, also, but slightly less, for some reason.  Maybe because I didn't see any pictures of Thor riding a 4-wheeler with his hammer hanging out the front so he can run over bad guys...  ::)

Hey, want to hear something funny though?

The 1/18 Military collectors were kinda getting antsy at Captain America hoping for Germans and WW2 stuff...  Wow, they're probably hanging themselves.

I think some of the vehicles cuold make ok GI Joe vehicles, but my oh my...  I will maybe get the one with the WW2 gear on though.  Put him on my WW2 shelf next to General Patton or something.

I'm generally spoiler free on these films because I like to be surprised at the theater, but just from the trailer and the handful of early set photos, I thought this was going to be mostly a WWII period piece.  But the toys look NOTHING like a WWII period film.  It's all red, white and blue and I didn't get the impression the film was any of that.

If that's the case, I find it hard to believe kids and collectors are going to get too psyched to buy a bunch of **** that's not remotely in the movie.  Captain America and Thor are untested at this point so it seems to me that a less is more approach should be taken.

I don't read Marvel comics, but it seems that Captain America didn't have much more of a general public profile than Iron Man did before that first movie opened large.  So why try to stuff all the CA merchandise down our throats?  The Thor line seems to be taking a little more measured step with Thor and some bad guys for him, a few role play items and that's it.  That's a great approach, IMO.

We'll see, I guess.  I will admit one thing, that Strikefire Transport from the CA line doe look cool, just not in those colors.  Is that a re-tasked GI Joe item that I'm not remembering or is it new?  Because, throw some olive drab camo paint on that it would make a rockin' whip for the Joe motor pool.

Just from the pics, it seems like Cap will be getting a pretty big push from Hasbro (larger than Thor it appears).  Not only the figures (movie and comic lines), but lots of vehicles and even a fairly decent sized one the way it looks.  From what I can see Thor must just be getting movie figures, as I haven't seen any mention or pictures of a "comic line" for Thor.  I could be wrong though.

As far as the Cap stuff, I'll likely pick some of it up.  I always seem to grab the best figure of the movie version from these Marvel movies, and I'll likely get a few of the comic series ones as well.  Our little girl already wants the shield and Thor's hammer (she's a superhero fan), so we may check those out as well.  I was wondering what Scott thinks of the lineup, being the big Cap fan that he is.

What I really really want is a Captain America that does not wear a utility belt, has sculpted wings on his head ie...I want this one

And this one sort of fits the bill

So, I am happy :)

I agree that this whole line has a chance to be the 2011 retail version of Hulk...not sure why there is a push over Thor and why they aren't going more movie realistic other than they are holding back some of the stuff due to spoilers.

I don't like movie lines in general.  They smell of retail death before they are even put out there.

It looks like they rebranded the bump-n-go as 'cruisers'.  It's just overkill though I admit if I was a kid I'd be all over the shield.

Not sure I'll buy anything here in this line but if the figs look ok I might grab a Cross-bones or something to that effect.  I'd be really happy if they re-released a classic Red Skull in the line.  Or is that already planned?

Red Skull and Hydra soldiers were mentioned in the press release - but that is all we have on them so far.  So they will be in the line somewhere, we just don't what versions.  I hope we get movie and comic versions of both.

That has been the most maddening thing, they kept showing him without a utility belt and with wings and the one that came to ship would be totally different  :-X

US Agent and Red Skull look good.  What is up with Cap in black pants?  Combo old/new cap?  I just donít understand how crap like that gets made in place of designs and characters people might actually want.  If you needed another figure, why not include the MU Falcon instead?

Why is this figure not in black from the start?

Cynical me says so that then they do a repaint so that there's a double-hit of sales.

my first instinct would be that this was Hasbro making the figure before knowing exactly how it would look or something like that - similar to what they did with the Hammer drones and final battle Whiplash in the IM2 line

My first thought is that they didn't want to make him straight black because of the whole SS/Nazi thing.  But they did a black version for the SDCC exclusive set so, more likely, it's so they can double-dip on him later.   :-\

It's possible that they didn't have the final look of the character in time to pick the paint, who knows.  But you have to think that Hasbro will take any opportunity to make a second sale on a paint change or be able to offer a different color in a 2-pack, box set or store exclusive.

but it isn't just the paint, as I am sure you all are aware and I don't really need to tell you, but in the comparison picture the outfit is all different too.  The super-strappy look.  anyway, again, I hope they do make the version marveluniverse.com is using in the comparison pic.  And I read on one website that someone was speculating the head being a little on the small side because maybe he came with a fake human face mask to put on off.  That would be pretty cool imo.

I saw that because of the movie release this will be released later this year:

It is a nice campy retro flash back in the 12 inch format.  I've got a Dr. Evil from Captain Action I can put this on.

I'm wondering if any one has heard anything about something similar to this being released this year too:

More in scale with the 8" Mego's.  This came out in 2007 and can still be readily found, but for about $50 so if something just as good or better is going to be released this year I've got something to look forward to.

Local Target reset the action figure aisle and stocked Green Lantern, Captain America and Transformers: DotM figures.  the CA figures looked okay, for the three flavors of Cap and one Winter Soldier.  WS probably looked the best.

I checked out the movie CA, assuming it was the movie version, with the helmet and it looks like it should be an okay figure but all of them on the shelf had terrible paint on the eyes.  All but one also looked like the left leg was screwed up by the bubble insert.

If the case you saw contained three Caps and Winter Soldier (wave 1), then you didn't see the movie Cap.  He premiers in wave 2.

Yeah, it was wave 1.  I thought it was movie cap because he has the old style shield, helmet and web gear.  But I'm not paying that much attention to the movie yet so I just guessed.

I wouldn't mind a movie version, but if they're in the same boat as these figures, I'll pass.

Saw the comic wave of figures. Not bad, sloppy paint on a few of them. They need to stop being stingy on villains, as some of old types don't know about WINTER SOLDIER (whose Marvel Universe figure peg warms at TRU) but know Zemo and other baddies.

The frisbee "FLYING SHIELD" amuse me...it's just a frisbee! BUT IT'S SUPER PATRIOTIC!

The motorcycle/ATV toys with the figures stuck in riding pose...hated that as a kid, still do.

Red Skull looks cool but of course they couldn't stick that in Wave 1.  ::)

I'd be interested in some of these if I see them.

Captain America x 2 (one for my son, one for me)

Red Skull x 3 - (one for my son, one for me, one for custom parts)

Hydra Soldier x 6 (two for my son, two for me, two for custom parts)

Madame Hydra x ? (assuming they make her?)

I've seen these at Target and TRU locally as well, but just Wave 1 of the basic line so far (along with deluxe, vehicles, role play, etc.)  I grabbed the "regular" Cap (I believe it is called "Heavy Artillery" Captain America), since the Marvel Universe ones so far have been pretty much Ultimates-styled.  Nice figure.  I don't know how much of the line I'll end up buying (or that will make it to retail, always tough to tell with movie lines), but it is kind of a neat line.  Some nice deluxe, and that larger vehicle.  Sure, it isn't comic (or movie I'm guessing) accurate, but I'm sure kids could have fun with it.

Saw these for the first time today... at least what was left. My local WM only had two winter Caps (the one with the white coat) and a few deluxe figures. I really only want the "normal" Cap so I'll patiently wait for restocks... you know they're coming in full force.

I find it interesting that the deluxe figures are $9.99 in this line, yet the Thor deluxe figures are $2-$3 more depending on where you shop.  You seem to get more out the Captain America deluxe offerings too... weird.  That's Hasbro for ya.

Captain America Deluxe figure lack any swivel arm joints. So much for "deluxe".

And they pulled the Iron Man/Spiderman bit with the jeep-type vehicles, too. Both include Captain America figures as poseable as a 1978 Kenner Luke Skywalker.

I'm not really surprised, just disappointed that this is from the company that made GI JOE, where every vehicle driver (except Deep Six) was as moveable as a regular figure.

What is the "best" CA figure, to everyone?  I'm really wanting one just for with my WW2 figure shelf for fun, and I was thinking the one with the web gear and a Thompson was best, but I'm not real familiar with what all CA's they're putting out either.

Just was curious if there's something better than that?  All the ones I saw had horrific eye paint aps.  Blah.

For your purposes Jesse, I'd either go with the one on the upper left of this pic:

Or the last one on the lower left of this pic:

The 1st one is the comic version, the 2nd one is the movie version.

Funny story though, I've always loved Marvel.  When the 6" Marvel Legends started coming out, I passed because I wanted to stick to 3 3/4" scale.  Then when the this scale started coming out 3 years ago, I said I was going to just stick to Star Wars.  Then one day I picked up Wave 1 Iron Man.  Then Captain America.  3 years later, I have 2 x 8 foot shelves loaded with 3 tier displays of Marvel figures in this scale.

Beware!!

I gotta post pics of this one of these days, it probably is the coolest part of the over 80 feet of such shelving I have figures displayed on.

As it turns out it's way too short compared to the other figures, the head likeness is off too.

The 2 WWII versions of Cap are great though, Crossbones is great, Bucky as Cap (Heroic Age) is awesome too.

p.s.  U.S. Agent is a fine figure as well.  Red Skull is okay I still prefer the SDCC '09 version by a lot.

I stop at a few WalMarts every morning and on Wednesday this past week, I made my usual stop at the one nearest work and they must have just put out a case of Wave 2 - they had both Crossbones and Red Skull on the pegs. I'm not really interested in the comic or concept series figures from this line, but like with the IM2 line, I'm interested in a select figures from the movie. So I grabbed Red Skull and the movie version of Cap.

I picked up US Agent, as well as Union Jack from the MU line last weekend.  I've grabbed a few of the other Cap toys as well, with the best "regular" comic Cap and movie Cap being the first two.  Also grabbed a Red Skull I saw at WM, pretty nice figure.  This line continues to do the best (by far) of the three super hero movie lines this summer - at least here locally.  I think a lot of that is due to comic figures being included as well and grabbing collectors, but it is definitely moving more than Thor or GL, which seem destined for clearance (some parts already starting).

Captain America is moving way better than GL and Thor here as well, Brian.  GL did move at Target when it first hit, but I think that was collectors getting their early fill.  The movie definitley didn't help any.

I spotted a wave 2 Movie CA at K-Mart the other night but I think that's the first I've seen of W2 locally.  As I mentioned earlier, I saw some leftovers at a TRU a couple weeks ago and then spotted one of the deluxe Hydra soldiers at a store on my trip back from Pittsburgh two weeks ago (don't recall the store).

any of these do it for you?

I do want to try to eventually get a Thor and Loki in 3.75" scale with their helms - I really don't want the versions that are currently clogging the shelves.

For the IM2 and CA lines, I'm sticking to just non-gimmick figures from the movies.

So for IM2 I have the Mark I - Mark VI, a squad of Air Force Drones, a squad of Ground Assault Drones, the two Drones that came in the pack with Nick Fury at TRU, Nick Fury and Whiplash. I never got the Target set with the Whiplash repaint and the Sea Assault Drone. And I'd love to get the "Concept" Hammer Drone since that looks the most like the armor that Whiplash wore at the end of the movie - but if they ever made a 3.75" version of that I'd definitely want it.

For Thor - I loved the movie, but I really only want Thor, Odin and Loki with their helms (as opposed to the versions that first came out), the Warriors Three, Sif, Destroyer and a couple of Frost Giants. But the only figures that seem to be around in my neck of the woods are the Thor, Loki and Odin figures from the first wave. Excellent planning on Hasbro's part!  :P

For Captain America - like I said - I'm good with just the Movie version of Cap, Red Skull and a pair of Hydra soldiers. If they come out with a single carded Hydra soldier or a movie version of Bucky, then I might consider those.

The biggest problem I have with these lines is that Hasbro ALWAYS goes all Batman with the main character. There are only so many Iron Man, Thor and Captain America versions that you need or would ever want.

I will NEVER understand the "Comic Series" sub-lines in these movie lines. Isn't that what your "Marvel Universe" line is for? Figures based on their appearances in the Comics? That's where a lot of these figures truly belong. How about trying to plan on some form of synergy between your toy lines? At the same time you're putting out movie versions of the characters of Thor, why not have a Marvel Universe wave that includes a few non-movie Thor characters from the comics?

I want to walk into their offices in Rhode Island, dump truck load of IM2 Iron Man figures on whatever moron's desk has been planning these lines and beat the snot out of him, all the while asking him why they didn't learn ANY lessons from the failure of the IM2 line.

Just once, I'd like them to put out a good solid mix of characters from the movie in the first wave, thus at least getting some variation out onto the pegs. There is no reason why Destroyer and Sif - both of whom were in many of the trailers - couldn't have at least both been in the first wave of Thor figures. If you're going to have the Frost Giant deluxe having the exact same figure for a few bucks cheaper makes no sense, so the single carded Front Giant should have at least been dropped in favor of Destroyer...

Sorry for getting off-topic re: the Captain America line...

I don't' disagree about the separation of the movie line and the Marvel Universe line when it comes to the comic versions of the character.  I don't see what the point was with the first wave of Captain America figures being all comic based rather than get the movie version of him out there.

However, the downside to separating them became apparent with Iron Man.  The IM2 line was and is still clogging the pegs and I have been to a couple of stores that have not advanced their Marvel Universe stock because the pegs are clogged with 3 or 4 versions of IM from that line!  The ridiculous amount of IM figures released last year by Hasbro really boggles my mind.

Captain America, Winter Soldier and Captain Britain have all been in the MU line (was US Agent released there as well?) in their comic incarnations so why potentially bog down the CA movie line by releasing new versions of them?

I agree with you on the ass whooping that's needed in Rhode Island...and it's not just the Marvel team...or movie team, it's pretty much the whole company.

And to echo what efranks said...what if the 1st wave of Cap figures had bombed like Thor ultimately has and they clogged the pegs sooo bad that Wave 2 didn't have a chance of coming out?  That would have meant NO movie figs...they got lucky on that one

I don't understand whoever is in charge of product design at Hasbro.  When you were a kid, did you play with 5 Han Solo's at one time?  I had one Luke and one Han for a long time, and Tatooine Luke flew the X-Wing just fine.  Kids want multiple characters to recreate the story, not fifteen versions of the same character to choose from.  Iron Man at least made some sense with all the different versions of armor he has with different specialties, but they prioritized that over any (ANY!) bad guys.  Hey Hasbro, include the rest of the core characters and watch your movie lines actually sell!   Is there anyone out there who would really prefer 5 variations of Thor to a Thor, Sif, and the Warriors Three?  And I do not agree with anyone who says they need to save slots for more in demand figures to launch future waves.  If you can sell through your core Captain America and Thor figures, THEN it is time to launch a Cap with winter coat or a battle-damaged Thor.  I just don't get why they shoot themselves in the foot right out of the gate.

I don't know; when I was a kid I was stoked to get Han and Luke variations. I have a seven year old who can't get enough versions of Batman. The weirder the better as far as he's concerned.

Our TRU's had Cap stuff on sale for $6.97 today, so I snagged my second figure of the line today - Crossbones.  Our distribution has been pretty lousy and most stores seem to have passed entirely, but I was able to find a Red Skull and now Crossbones, so my luck has been pretty good.

Has anyone seen the regular Hydra Soldier? I've seen him pictured on the back of the new Cap repaints, I'm guessing I just missed him. I have seen the white-glove version of Red Skull, I'm happy with the first version, so I passed on him.

I've seen the movie Hydra soldier only once, at Target about 2-3 weeks ago.  They had three of them - bought two.  One's right knee was already broken in the package.

I picked up a new Hydra soldier today, but the card says "Marvel's Hydra Armored Soldier."  He's got red stripes that go all the way down the front of his pants and a different head from the other Hydra soldier, but that's about it.  Anyone else seeing these?  I'm mostly just army building the Hydra guys for my Marvel Universe stuff so I'm not following the Captain America line all that closely, but it seems kind of weird to me the way they're doing the bad guys.

They did the same thing with the Red Skull, too.  There's a brighter colored versionof him  that's similar to the bright colored Hydra Trooper as well.

Oh, I knew about the comics colors; this is a different figure.  It's no big deal, it just surprised me at the store.  The body is identical, except for the red stripes going down the front of the legs.  The head is a different sculpt with a bulkier helmet.  I looked into it a little more, and the one with the smaller helmet is the "Attack Trooper" and the bulkier one is the "Armored Soldier" or something like that.  Here's the difference:

I haven't seen the comic version though with the brighter colors.

I just wish they had handled this line better... a bit more variety of movie characters would have been awesome.

Would have been great to get Steve Rogers as a puny guy, and also in non military gear when he got all beefed up... Red Skull with human "mask", the chick, Tommy Lee Jones, a US soldier or two, a scientist, etc.  Maybe a Hydra tank too.

But nope, lots of silly stuff instead.  All I ever bought was a good Captain America, Red Skull and a few Hydra Soldiers.

I've seen reports online of both scales hitting, although the Legends stuff has been reported a bit more often.  No sign at our local store yet, although we have had the frisbee shield stocked since before Christmas.  Really looking forward to this line (particularly the Legends), as well as the Spider-Man ones.  Hopefully they aren't too tough to find.

My Target had all of the first wave of Cap Legends today and Red Skull in the 4" line today, plus the new Spidey Figures.

Post by: Brian on January 17, 2014, 11:16 AM
Over the past couple weeks I've picked up the Cap Legends, as well as the new Cap, Winter Soldier, and Red Skull figures from the 4" line.  All the figures are pretty well done I'd say.  It really seems, much like Thor: TDW, they are a little more conservative with the movie lines these days.  Not that many figures overall (at least for now), and in the case of the Spidey line it is either Legends "Collector" figures, or 5 POA figures (where 3 of 4 are Spider-Men).  I remember back in the days of the original Spider-Man trilogy, there would be nearly an entire aisle of figures (again, mostly Spidey).  Anyways, the Cap stuff (and Spidey Legends) are pretty nice toys.

I picked up the 3.75" Red Skull and Winter Soldier today.  Cap in the new uniform looks pretty cool, but I passed for now.

Also, is it me, or does the modern Cap look pretty much identical to the modern uniform Cap from the Avengers 3.75" movie line?

There's now a listing for wave 2 in the 3.75" figure line (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HMVA6813B).  Here's the wave lineup, with the new figures in this wave IN BOLD:

2x Super Soldier Captain America
2x WWII Captain America
1x Winter Soldier
1x Red Skull
3x Shield Blitz Captain America
3x Rocket Storm Falcon

Also listed now (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HMVA6218B) are the second wave of Captain America Legends 6" figures.

3x Captain America
1x Black Widow
2x Winter Soldier

1x Red Skull (Agents of H.Y.D.R.A.)
1x Baron Zemo (Soldiers of A.I.M.)

I found a Black Widow this morning at a local Target.  Initially, she was the only figure I was going to get from the Cap line, so I could complete my movie Avengers in this scale.  I decided that I just had to build the Mandroid, though, and grabbed the rest of the wave(s) so I could do so.  Dammit.  :)

I grabbed the movie Cap figure yesterday after finding one with decent paint apps. It's a very nice figure. There are a lot of cool details and the extra hands were a nice touch. The unmasked head looks nothing like Chris Evans though, and now that I think about it none of the unmasked Cap figures (4 inch and 6 inch) have really looked like Evans. Maybe Hasbro doesn't have the likeness rights?

I passed on Winter Soldier, but I'll probably grab that one later on. No Black Widows to be found, but I will keep searching. I REALLY want to finish off the 6 inch scale Avengers.

I saw the new Cap today from the 6" figure line.  One thing I noticed with this figure along with the 3.75" figure is the different shield.  That does seem to be a potentially significant plot point.  I guess we'll learn more in a month when the movie comes out!

I get the feeling that one of the shields, and it's Vibranium alloy composition, might be linked to Avengers - Age of Ultron.  The clips do show the Winter Soldier catching Cap's shield.  Does something happen to the original shield, perhaps?

Also, while Ultron was supposed to have been made from Adamantium, I get the feeling that along with the rights to the X-Men films, Fox also has the rights to Adamantium.  With that in mind I suspect that Ultron will very likely be made from Vibranium instead.

I found the new Cap (and Spidey) Legends at Target this week.  Really liking the three movie figures.  The unmasked Winter Soldier head is a little wonky paint-wise (at least on mine), but everything else is top notch.  Nice set, and as Scott mentioned earlier, really nice to be able to assemble the movie Avengers.  I'd like to get a second Widow as well, but I feel lucky to have found one at this point.

Picked up CA:TWS versions of The Falcon and WWII Cap to finish off the CA2 3.75" figure line for my collection.

The Falcon figure could have really benefited from having ankle joints to allow him to point his toes while "in flight" - but otherwise a great representation of him from the movie.

I was just going to ask if anyone has seen Falcon yet on the pegs, I've been looking through the pegs at Target with no luck.

I've actually been surprised by the amount of sell through of all of the Cap figures, way more than the Spidey stuff right down the aisle

The Cap merchandise seems to be far more focused than the Spidey stock.  I think that's a big part of why it's sold through as well as it has.  I've been trying to find Falcon, too, but not luck so far.

It doesn't hurt that Cap has a movie that was just released AND Army builders in the lineup.  The spidey line doesn't have a lot going for it, especially given the abundance of Spidey figures available over the years.  And if that's not enough, Spiderman is priced $2 higher at my Target stores than the Captain America line.
