Customized clone army's. You pick whcih Battalion you want to play as EI 501st, 212th
Also, play as more jedi, and bring back the Dune Sea, Rhen Var, and Bespin.
AT the same time, expand on some missing things, like Ord Mandell and the bounty Husters after Han Solo and bring in Lando and bespin security ect, this is a start, what do you want to see?

I'd like to be able to "Create your own Hero" characters. Maybe by earning points you can do that.

Here's what I'd like to see...
-The return of the Dune Sea, Rhen Var, and Cloud City maps.
-Snowtrooper armor for the Imperials on Mygeeto. I hated having to fight as a regular stormtrooper when I played on the Mygeeto map on BF2.
-More falling snow on the Mygeeto map.
-Different clone legions for different planets, like playing as the 212th on Utapau, Bacara's Snow Troops on Mygeeto, Gree's Scout Troops on Kashyyyk, etc.
-New maps: Saleucami, Senate Rotunda, Carida, Kalist VI, Korriban, Manaan, Malachor V, and Coruscant (Skyline).
-Juggernauts as a playable vehicle.

I would like to see playing as planet-specific soldiers. More maps, return of Cloud City, etc.

I would like to buy more items. I finish the Galactic Conquest portion again today on BF2 and had over 3,000 credits left. I already had 3 fleets. I'd like to get upgraded armor that you can actually see on the characters. More weapons, Big weapons, Vehicle purchases, more character selection that does not have to unlocked.

Planet and Atmospheric specific troops. No more of this bull**** saying that the 501st was in every single major conflict of the war. Have snowtroopers for cold maps, have camo rebels for forested maps...
More expansive maps with a higher flight cieling.
Much more extensive Conquest campaign, with many more fleets, and more flight lanes. Give some fleets advantages and disadvantages.
How about the ability to fight as local resistance to keep your enemy busy? Gungans and Naboo Troops, Wookies, Ewoks, Sandpeople, etc.

Yes, I would like to purchase a Super Star destroyer, with five wings of TIE Interceptors, and troops lots and lots of troops oooooowww.. I would like to purchase a cloning facility. And guns, Big guns, I would like to attack Hoth with 6 At-At's at one time instead of the pathethic 2.

I'm not a HUGE fan of Battlefront overall, I find it to be too MP focused, and BF2 felt like a bit of a ripoff to me overall.
If I were to improve upon it though I'd try to focus on the ground combat and drop space combat completely. They tout it as the next greatest thing in SW gaming every time a BF is released and so far the aerial combat has blown goats to put it mildly. Leave that to the Rogue Squad series where it belongs.
Hell, if they could combine foot combat of BF with flight combat of RS they'd be sitting pretty, but that seems somewhat impossible at hte moment.
Anyway, another huge gripe of mine has been troop types... Rebel Troopers need to be just RFT's, Commandoes need to be a specialist trooper you can get, not standard... RFT's should don poncho's and trenchcoats for environment-specific looks like Brad mentioned (Camo, etc.), and Hoth outfits for any cold weather environment. Drop Pilots as a character then... Add techs if you want someone to build something as an "Engineer" or something.
Same goes for Stormtroopers... I can bite on Scouts being Snipers, but beyond that, they boggled the Clones tremendously in BF2 I thought. If you're playing a Mygeeto Map you should have Galactic Marines ONLY, with their own variations of each trooper type... Utapau you play as Cody's troop types, etc., etc...
It's a simple matter of laziness on the game's designers not to incorporate that accuracy really.
An increase in troops would be ideal too. Levels in BF2 were terribly short and didn't feel epic in their scale. SW is known for big battles, and they need to stretch gaming to its limits with that in mind I believe.
Lastly... The engine for the game is fairly sound, and while it's easily an MP focused game I think it has more potential for a SP game. I think they need to make a SP focused Battlefront where the MP comes second because it's quite simply "easy" to add MP to games, but making a good SP game with cohesive storyline isn't so much so.
Of course, I could always just hope for good new SP games to come out, but the SW gaming horizon is REALLY bleak. I hope E3 has something good to show us because so far not much else appears to be coming.
Star Wars is sorely lacking a GOOD tactical team-based 1st person shooter though like Ghost Recon, or whatnot. Add a little more wide-open action to it, and it'd be a fantastic take on that genre niche.
Anyway, I repeat... Drop the aerial/space combat. It blows and was a dead spot in both BF's.

My Ideas:
1. Make the clone troopers look more appropriate for the environments meaning not just from the 501st legion. On Mygeeto there should be the galactic marines (the clones who looked like the snowtroopers in The Empire Strikes Back) and maybe even some white clone troopers, on Utapau there should be orange clones, on Felucia there should be yellow clones, on Kashyyyk there should be green clones, and on Mustafar there should be red clones.
2. Bring back all the environments from the first Battlefront, which the second Battlefront left out like Bespin and Rhen Var.
3. Be able to destroy the shield generator on Endor like in BF1.
4. Add more environments like the Coruscant senate chamber, the Naboo Theed Palace, Otoh Gunga, the Trade Federation Droid control ship, Mos Espa, the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4, the Imperial Super Star Destroyer Executor, the Jundland wastes, the Geonosis Arena, Hypori, and the Invisible Hand.
5. Give Princess Leia her lightsaber from the Expanded Universe.
6. Add more assaults and space battles.
7. On the Hoth level, give Luke Skywalker a harpoon gun so he can follow the technique from The Empire Strikes Back.
8. Make Anakin Skywalker a playable hero for the Republic.
9. Add more heroes like Luke Skywalker's wife, Mara Jade Skywalker, Kit Fisto, Padme Amidala Skywalker, Asajj Ventress, Durge, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Kyle Katarn.
10. Heroes in space.
11. Make the emperor the playable hero for the CIS on Mustafar, not Darth Maul.
12. Have two heroes on each side for some of the maps.

I like the 2 hero scenereo. give 2 people playing on the same side a chance to play a hero. As for space hero's, here's a few. Luke, Lando, Wedge for rebels, add Lando as a hero. Baron Soontir Fel would be kewl for the Empire, and maybe some of the leaders, like Tarkin, Veers ect. Some other things that would be good to see are hero's and villans from from the clone wars like asajj Ventress and Durge and durge's army of IG 88's.

I don't really think they would put in General Veers (the imperial General during the Battle of Hoth), nor even put in Grand Moff Tarkin (the imperial officer/governor whose "foul stench" Leia recognized when she was brought on board the Death Star), but I do think there should be two heroes for some of the maps like Polis Massa, Endor, Coruscant, Geonosis, Mos Eisley, Yavin 4, the Tantive 4, Dagobah, Kashyyyk, and Naboo. For Mustafar, they should really have the emperor be the playable hero for the separatists, not Darth Maul. They should also really add in what was in the XBOX expansion pack.

I got another idea. Have some alternate costumes for some of the playable characters.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: His regular outfit, regular outfit with cloak, and even his clone trooper armor minus the helmet.
Anakin Skywalker: Regular outfit, Episode 2-style outfit (both with and without cloak), pilot gear, and regular outfit with cloak.
Han Solo: A New Hope gear, Endor Gear, and Hoth Gear.
Princess Leia: Primary A New Hope uniform, bounty hunter disguise minus the helmet, and Endor Gear.
Luke Skywalker: Farmboy outfit, pilot gear, Hoth gear, Bespin gear, Jedi Knight gear (with and without cloak), and Endor gear.

You made 8 posts on this thread in 11 days, thats too fast. give people two weeks or more to answer, because as JesseJames said they need to think about their answers okay. Also this is one of the less frequented sections so don't expect imediate answers. Its not a chat room okay.
Now to give an answer, yes you have some valid ideas that I think would add to the detail of the game but remember the programers have deadlines and file sixe restrictions to think about plus loading times adn online lag time.
Now my idea is that they should add a new game mode, and improve the AI for the bots. The AI is superior to BF I but they still stand around and do nothing and they still don't use squad tactics or any tactics at all and that bites. Its like two colonies of ants fighting with the victory hinging on you.
As for the new mode, a career mode would be cool. Like an RPG where you can improve your character, choose a class or change classes and you can customize how you look. Armor, equipment, etc.
It would follow you from recruitment or decanting, through training sims, wthe war and peace keeping missions. And you can choose you Clone or Stormtooper legion or the Rebel unit you join. Not mjuch variation in droids though. Like you can choose to decant as an Republic commando or an ARC, or join the Imp 501st or become a elite Royal Guard with missions to protect the Palps.
Also one thing desperately needed is a close quaters melee attack, like a rifle butt or a punch or body slam, a knuckle plate vibroblade would be cool, esp against those damn engineers with the shot guns.
I can see all of this on the uber powerful upcoming PS3. LMK what you think.

PC Gamers get the advantage of downloading player modified games for free, all of which pretty much address most of the desires expressed in this forum. Really, Lucasfilm should just release more powerful mod software and give all the folks over at Pandemic the year off.

The loading screens probably should be how they were in BF1, because you could easily know if the next planet you were going to battle on is in the Republic like Coruscant and Kashyyyk, or in the outer world rim territories like Mustafar and Tatooine.

I would certainly push for more jedi put up all chacters and let them pick out who they want to be I would like to see if the enemy loses the weapon you could use it instead even jedi .more "force weapons"

I would like to see the battle of Coruscant, you could play as jedi, battle droid, clones.
There would be objectives like protect the senate, protect the citizens of Coruscant ect. ect.

I thought BF was great and BF2 was even better. They don't need to change much for me to be happy. I'd be fine with them just 'refreshing' the game and releasing it as such. Like new characters, maps, etc. but leaving the basic concepts how they are. Some of the ideas in this thread sound pretty good, esp. the Clones corresponding to the planets like in the movie, but I think a lot of it is unnecessary. It's already a great game.
I also did like the loading screens from the first game.

- In instant action I'd like to see the opposing side's "hero" enter the battlefield as well.
- I want the bodies to lay on the ground permanently when killed, rather than fading away after 3 seconds.

Damn...that game's going to be huge! Looks like a pretty good story in it as well, compared to BF I and II.

The fighter left the atmosphere and went into a battle in space... That's impressive ****.
Looks like they're working on an actual story for the game's SP too, which is a huge step forward, to me anyway, for the BF series... To me that was why I never was "into" the old ones that much. Played them with the kids some but really kind of dull and the SP was relatively easy... This looks like they're trying to put a Dark Times type story arc into the game to make it more appealing to the lonely sp gamer.
Looked cool to me... I could've done without the uber geeked clapping at the end that gave me some douche chills though, haha.

correction. There WAS a BF3 planned. The company working on it had to lay off a good chunk of their employees which means no more BF3 unless some one else picks up where they left on. Unless someone else picks it up to finish the game off chances are we will never get anymore than that video.

Wow that was a great video. I really would like to see another studio pick up the game and start where Free Radical left off. It would really be a shame for that to never see the light of day.
I really never liked BF 1 or 2 very much. The story was non-existant in BF1 and INCREDIBLY lame in BF2. The game was way too easy, it was almost impossbile to not win in that game. I don't particularly like the 3rd person combat system. I really think BF would have been better served as a FPS. Space combat in II was kind of fun when it first came out, but it got really boring really quick. It was the same **** every time and it was too easy. The whole scale of the battles never felt as big as they had hyped them up to be.
It always bugged me to how you would automatically lose if all your reinforcements got cut off, even if you still had guys in the field. I hated when it would be fairly close and they would have like 30 reinforcements left and my side would have 0 and it would just end while I was still alive. There were a lot more negatives than postives with the first two games, and it looks as if this game would have improved on them. Hopefully Lucasfilm has the legal rights to be able to buy/take all the work Free Radicals have done so far and give it to another studio to finish up.

umm..you do know you can switch the games to fps right?
Personally I hate FPS because they are all the same, and at least for third person you can see your own character in action and have a better sense of your surroundings. but everyone is different.

Eh, I guess it slipped my mind. I'm generally not a fan of third person shooters, I think they work sometimes when there is cover system in the game, but generally I always prefer 1st person. They immerse you much more as a player, and you really can feel like you are the character you play the game as.
As for all FPS being the same, you could say the same thing for all third person shooters. Neither statement is really true though. There are a lot of very similar games both 1st and 3rd person, I'll give you that. But there are enough games different that they don't feel like the same game all the time.
Anyway you paint it, the first Battlefronts were mediocre games at best, and repetitively boring and easy shooters at worst.
