Kubricks / Re: WF Summer 2011? Carded ChromeDome R2
« on: June 22, 2011, 02:22 AM »
Tokyo Hunter has this up for pre-order at 4,500 yen shipped to North America.

Yeah I decided to get this but I always go SAL shipping with Tokyo Hunter. I've never had any trouble and the figures always arrive in good condition and quicker than you'd expect. The total cost would be 3580 yen with SAL shipping to North America.

There is some chatter over at Kubrick Nation of a possible carded R2-D2 figure with chrome dome.  Not happy about yet another re-release from Medicom, but happy to get a possible nod to the vintage R2 with the shiny head.  What would really be cool is if the head spins and makes the 'clicking' noise...

Yeah I spotted that too and have the same feeling towards Medicoms current strategy with re-releases. Sadly I doubt the head will click and if I get one I won't find out!  ;D I'll leave that to the carded barbarians...  :P

No doubt, seems like they have written themselves into a hole when the kill all the interesting Characters and decent actors.

Well they're following the book so GRRM is four books into this "hole" you speak of.

If you like Star Wars and you like Calvin and Hobbes then you should like this design. It wasn't created with any malicious intent so why have a problem with it? As well as being a parody it also a homage, even more than a parody in my opinion. Both IP's are treated with respect and not misused in anyway.

Kubricks / Re: Medicom Parco Toy Exhibiton 2011?
« on: June 15, 2011, 07:19 PM »
Not seen anything thus far...

They're usually held at the end of June so I'm guessing unless there's a date change there won't be one this year.  :'(

so, update on the 21st? does Medicom still do that?

It's the 23rd of each month and yes they do still do that. The last few months haven't been kind to us in terms of Star Wars updates though.

Kubricks / Medicom Parco Toy Exhibiton 2011

Is there no Toy Exhibition this year? I thought there would be due to Medicom celebrating their 15th birthday. Does that just leave Wonderfest as our only chance to see new Kubs in the wild?

Apparently the UK doesn't get this till August. No wonder people download movies with a wait like that.

If we have a thread for this movie, merge away, if not... go see it now.

I don't fancy camping outside of the cinema until 5th August.

R2 can't be too far behind.

2 legged or 3 though? I would say they'd do a 2 legged R2 if they were going to do one.

In terms of wants I don't have any as the only ones I don't have are two of the Fetts and the TC-14 and I'd rather spend my money on something else. As for wishes I'd like to see a Chewie (old or new sculpt) or a regular Han. I'd also like to see a 300% Yoda but I'm dreaming  ;D

The concept is cool but the execution is still Mehbrick. Even so good luck on getting this  :)

Nothing like a bit of show and tell to make the wait between releases not seem as long ;)

Cheers for sharing what looks to be a great set up and collection :)

Nobody doing any customs at the moment?

Beaker is my favourite Muppet but I think Fozzie is the stand out figure here. Rubber chicken in his chewie knapsack? SOLD  ;D
