Who has this awesome book? Wifey got it for me two years ago for Christmas and it is one of my absolute favorites
New copies run for over $100, Half.com usually has them for cheaper though

Hell yeah I've got one of these puppies! Greatest SW reference book ever made. It's basically the SW Bible... 8)
Definitely pricey, but very much worth it. I picked mine up for the original SRLP of $125 or $150 (don't recall) way back when if first came out. You've since been able to find them for a good deal cheaper though. I've seen it on sale several times in the $60 - $75 range.
A definite must have for any SW fan! 8)

I just checked Amazon.com and they want $105 for a new one. I'm thinking with my b-day coming up in a month, this might have just jumped to the top of my want list for that. ;D

Excellent news indeed, and both will be promptly added to my SW library for sure. I love the original Chronicles - probably still the best coffee table SW book. So it'll be nice to add the corresponding Prequel edition, despite my general lack of enthusiasm for those flicks (so far).
And who doesn't love SW posters?! A nice collection of all the posters over the year in one place is going to be very cool as well.
Of course, the price tags are gonna be pretty painful. What was the first one again? Like $150, I want to say, but often on sale from $100 - $125, IIRC.
Regardless of the price tag, I can't wait for these! 8)

Wow, $225 CDN for the OT version. Can any book really be worth that? If it is, I'd love for someone to convince me. :)

Definitely the best SW book out there, by far. I say go for it Jess! I'll definitely be picking up the next one as well. Very nice reference/"coffee table" book. Loads of actual prop pictures (close-up) from the archives, and stuff like that. I'll have to pull mine back out and refresh my memory a little, and let you know some further details on it...

I noticed that too. The one by Take Shobo, is that the original Japanese version?
From reading a few reviews, it sounds like it's a beautiful book, so much to look at. We're setting up a little sitting area in our basement with a couple couches and a coffee table, I may just have found the ideal book for that table. :)

Like others have said, the book is worth the money.
It's book is hefty, definitely not bathroom reading material. I just got my SW books set up and have it out after months in storage. Going to browse through it again shortly.

Strangely, they claim it's a SWS.com exclusive, but it's also listed on Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0811847357/jedidefender-20) as well, and much cheaper at $94.50.
The SWS.com listing mentions it is signed by both authors, Steve Sansweet and Pablo Hidalgo.

I too have the original book and I can not wait for this new one! The custom reference material alone is worth the price. I won't be buying it from the SWS.com that's for sure. I reported the other day on yakface.com that you can get it much cheaper from Amazon ($94.50 + free shipping) or Walmart.com ($87.00 w/o shipping). Bring on Oct 25th!!!!

I was keeping an eye on the OT Chronicles book in an eBay auction - it's definitely still in high demand. It finished for $268.32US or $315CDN (http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4590348561&ssPageName=STRK:MEDW:IT). Wow.

I saw BOTH of the Star Wars Chronicles books at Costco yesterday - only $90 each! They've got the new Prequels version, and an updated cover version of the old OT one. They're both shrinkwrapped, so I can't tell if there's been any actual updates inside of the original OT one. If there has, I'm gonna be pissed!
Anyway, a great deal for you Costco members!

I'm thinking about using my Visa GC to buy it, but wanted to get some feedback on buy.com. Anyone ever deal with them? How are they?

I already had it, but I picked up the OT one for a buddy the other day in a used bookstore for the grand total of $25.00....needless to say I paid more for mine a couple of years ago :P
But it IS an awesome book.
The PT one is going for about $120 at Costco here in Toronto. Probably won't get it though, unless someone here changes my mind with a review. The thought of looking through pages and pages of pics and info on Jar Jar is painful.

Just got it today from buy.com in perfect condition. For those still looking to get it and for under $90, they're a great option.
Have been skimming through it and it's a worthy follow up to the original. Very well done.

Does anyone know if there is any difference between the first release of Chronicles with the gold cover and the updated one with the second Death Star cover? I've been looking at getting this and I've seen both versions of this and want to know if there is any difference before I buy. Thanks.
