Cool, thanks for the link!  I guess it would only make sense that the weapon would be bootlegged too.

The company that made 2nd and 3rd Gens also made GI Joe bootlegs and many of the 3rd Gens have bootleg Joe weapons. There's also some very rare hybrids of Joe's with SW limbs which are thought to have been made at the tail end of the line just to get rid of parts laying around. Shane has been working on an article about Polish Joe's for a while now and when he's done I'll be updating mine and we'll be cross-linking.

I just received another Polish unused cardback, this one from my understanding in the few post above was used for the figures. I think these 2 cardbacks would look nice framed together.  8)

They were both used for figures, Dale. There's pics of carded ones in my article. They've been there for almost 7 years. ;)

Nobody remembers John though. LOL For some reason Jakub's article gets all the attention now. He helped me a lot over the years with info but he actually got a lot of his information for his article from me.  In fact, many of the Polish sellers know what they know because of my article. Anyway...

I do need to update it though since they aren't 2nds as originally thought. It's just a later wave of 1st Gens. It's thought that the tall cards would have also come with weapons attached but none have surfaced yet.

There's actually some back and forth on RS about this. Cj pulled the $2400 one. I really can't fault him. Yes, the BINs were aggressive but nobody forced people to buy. I agree he should have waited until *after* C4 but what's done is done. At least he was understanding enough to pull the final one and wait.

I still can't wait to get mine. :)

So the seller is one of the sponsors of the coins man that ain't cool wonder what the other sponsors think of this sort of thing.

But it was cool that he paid for the coin out of his own pocket, right? That sounds like a double standard to me. I don't fault him for it at all. Nobody put a gun to the two buyer's heads. Sorry to be blunt but I don't want this to turn into a debate whether people who paid out of thier own pockets have any right to sell what they paid for.

I hope that I will have some luck on ebay and be able to put together a full set of the coins.

A set already sold for $600. We told everybody they'd be hot. You guys better attend the panels. :)

I land Wednesday afternoon at 2:46 PM, and take off Saturday night at 7:51 PM.

I too am staying at the Wilshire Grand.  By myself this time apparently since none of the GalacticHunter regulars are making the trek out to L.A.

Are any of you meeting for breakfast (more like a midnight snack) or planning a time to get in line on Thursday morning?

There's a ton of us staying at the Wilshire Grand too. Feel free to come eat with us if you are staying alone. There's like 40 of us in the hotel plus I think room sales are slated for Friday night so there will be stuff to do and people to meet. Jay Coulston is GH staff and he should be spending quite a bit of time with us too. :)

Make sure to come see me at C4. I'm cleaning out some stuff as I've been rearranging my bootleg goals since about December. I'll have a handful of cool Vader bootlegs to offer up. ;)

Good lord, I hope we receive an schedule soon for all these panels.  It's going to take some serious planning to see all the ones I want!

Trust me, it's going to be tough. I saw the schedule (can't talk about it yet but Gus promises it'll be posted soon) and I don't even know how I'm going to see all I want, work the tattoo booth, walk around, and maybe catch a non-collector event or two. It's gonna be rough. LOL

All I know is I can't wait to track down some coins. BTW the other 8 coins should be posted soon too. They were supposed to be posted last week.

Can't wait to see all you guys!

Man those medallions are nice. I may have to hit those panels just for them.  :)

Don't come to the panels *just* for the coins, come to learn something new. :) Besides, the coins will be random give-aways, during random panels, at random times. You'll never know what you get at what panel.

Dale, what is that ship in the picture?  Just an old toy, or is it a bootleg as well?

Though not pictured it's from the 2nd Series of Model Trem:

I'm organizing the program for the Celebration IV collecting track. I'm very interested in hearing ideas for talks, panels, and activities for the C4 collecting program, especially new topics that haven't been covered before, interactive events, and suggestions that span the diversity of interests & demographics in Star Wars collecting.

Also, if you have feedback on things that worked well or could stand to improve from previous Celebration collecting events/talks, please let me know. Just shoot me an email with your suggestions. Thanks.

Gus posted this over on RS: http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=2267993 and he's looking for input from all collectors so here's your chance to have a say.

I posted this in the C4 section here too but since most panels are vintage related I figured I post here to since Gus did the same at RS. Give in your input so we can make this the most successful Collector Track yet. :)
