Quick idea/suggestion:
One feature I enjoyed from RS was the "new reply" indicator next to each topic. It makes it a lot easier to see which topics have been responded too since my last visit.
It'd be awesome if we could incorporate this feature on the boards.

Yeah, I think we have those -
(http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/Themes/classic/images/off.gif) = a Forum with No New Responses
(http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/Themes/classic/images/on.gif) = a Forum with New Responses
Inside each Forum, threads with new replies are marked with a (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/Themes/classic/images/english/new.gif).
Is that what you meant? :-\
edit - after popping over to scum, I think I know what you mean... Do you mean how each thread has a number in parenths beside it? Like this?

Where the ( 8 ) tells you exactly how many new replies there are, instead of just using the (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/Themes/classic/images/english/new.gif) which tells you there are new replies, but just not how many.

Jeff - yep, that's what I was asking (the second half of your post to be more specific).
Guess I really never noticed the "NEW" next to each topic - I can live with that (but the numbers would be nice). :-X

My 2/100 credit:
The (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/Themes/classic/images/english/new.gif) and (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/Themes/classic/images/on.gif) indicators are two of my favorite features on this board. The (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/Themes/classic/images/english/new.gif) in particular makes it incredibly easy to get caught up on posts. Some other sites don't have these, or if they do they aren't quite as clear. Numbers would be handy, but not absolutely necessary IMHO.

I actually don't like the way RS does the numbers. Maybe if we could do it a bit more tastefully?

Hi, I just joined JD. I've also posted frequently on Galactic Hunter. One the features I like over there is the ablilty to open a thread directly to new posts (whenever its new to you). I hope this question makes sense. Does JD have this feature? If so, I can't figure out how to make it work.

I think I know what you mean BrentS (welcome aboard btw), however I'm not sure you can make it work or if it just does... I thought ours did that, but now I just can't tell.
I'm sure Chris (the boss) can address this when he sees the thread though and tell you if it does or not... I'm obviously not the most savvy to be answering this. :)

Yep, we have the same feature here. Clicking the "new" icon will take you to the newest post in a thread. Hope that helps.
