Haha. Yakface reports that these will so far be the chase figures, from cases of the ROTS wave:

Quote
1x Hoth Hangar Han (FOIL) (97571)
1x Darth Vader (FOIL) (97580)
1x Commander Cody (FOIL) (20834)
1x Magna Guard (FOIL) (20830)

This is interesting. Hasbro will no doubt extend the chase feature to other waves. Something tells me that these are gonna be particularly hard to find. I myself will probably only be getting the Darth Vader, IF I can find it.

Phooey. That's all we need.

Confirmed (http://jediinsider.com/index.php?catid=8&itemid=12915) - "foil logo and stripe around the card. Nothing inside the blister will be different from the regular release."

I'll probably track down the Hoth Hangar Han one for my carded Han collection, but the rest I will happily ignore.  ;)

Totally off topic...that picture makes me jealous...I mean, I wish I actually knew two other people locally who collect SW figures, so that we could sit around and BS and talk shop.  They only person I know is Lando The Scoundrel, and he's a great guy, but we see each other like once every two years...

on topic...I couldn't give an s raw rats ass about foil cards.

I'll pass on the foil cards, but will keep an eye out for a that Han for you, Jeff.

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I wish I could have a nerdy conversation in person with a fellow collector, but I know no one else who collects. :( It's what makes these forums fun!

As for the UGH, I'll probably snatch Vader for my carded sub-collection. Whenever I decide I'm going to buy something solely for the purpose of keeping it carded, it's most likely to be Vader since he's a huge icon - it sorta makes sense, to me, to have him carded.

I may do a run of the carded Boba Fett figures.  Normal, UGH if there is one, and the RF mail-away.  That should be a fun, easy run to do.

Too bad they aren't putting all 6 ESB bounty hunters on Vintage cards...that would be a fun UGH run to do also.

That has to be the most clean-cut collection of Hot Wheels guys that I've ever seen.  Most of the ones I've come across have been grubby, greasy looking guys.

Don't forget to add "un-washed" or "pungent".

All the UGH variants for the Revenge of the Sith wave have turned up, and so here they are.

I'm very glad the whole UGH thing is limited to card variation only.   :-\  I don't care for it at all, and don't really see it drawing many people in permanently, but that's just me.   It's a nice wave though, really, and I think I'm even a little more geeked for this wave than for Wave 1...  Go figure.

Clicky the images to check them out!

Grievous looks to have a quite bulky cape compared to a lot of his prototype images too, plus extra hilts.  Yay!  I may add a Nahdar Vebb hilt to mine's cape.

I'm a bit lost.
Does this mean two different versions of the Sandtrooper card?
How does UGH work?

Yeah, I'm confused too. Is the Sandtrooper the only figure from this wave that is being released on 2 cards? Wasn't Anakin supposed to be too? The UGH are the ones with just the Star Wars logo right?

All the figure above will be released on 2 cards*: One with foil accents, one without.

There are 12 UGHs total (so far). Not shown above: Han, Vader, Bespin Luke and Boba Fett (they were on display at SDCC though)

Not all of the UGHs will be released at the same time, they'll be spread out in the case assortments throughout the rest of the year starting with the ROTS wave.

*3 for Anakin as they are changing he name to Darth Vader

EntertainmentEarth has a pretty good breakdown of the cases with the UGHs:

- Vintage Wave 2 (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HS97568B&id=HA-807301583) = UGH Magnaguard, Cody, Echo Base Han, Darth Vader

- Vintage Wave 2, Revision 1 (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HS97568B1&id=HA-807301583) = UGH Obi-Wan, Clone Trooper, Bespin Luke, Boba Fett

- Vintage Wave 2, Revision 2 (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HS97568B2&id=HA-807301583) = UGH Sidious, Anakin, Sandtrooper, Grievous

If you're a carded completeist, you may want to just order the 3 cases now.  If you do, you'll get 1x each of the 12 UGH cards plus 2x each of the regular RotS wave and just 8 Wave 1 repacks.  Not a bad mix and you won't have to waste your time running around trying to find them all...

Cool!
Thanks for the info.
I'd actually just want the the Non UGH versions, that's what I hope to find.

I'm going to stick with 1x of each carded, but not the variations, so I guess I get what I get.  3 versions of Anakin already is pretty silly.

I'm not interested in the UGH.
In fact if I find one and not the regular I'd trade it for the regular one I wanted.
I think the foil looks cool, but I like the idea of them looking as vintage as possible.
Hate that the pic on the Sandtrooper is from the SE.

I kinda like the look of UGH on Anakin's card, for some reason. It looks snazzy with the Mustafar backdrop.
Title: What's the deal with the new UGH
Post by: dta151 on August 7, 2010, 02:28 AM
I haven't been able to find any UGH anywhere, and Target had brand new cases of the vintage and clone wars.I think they are only doing them on the vintage with the foil packaging being like a UGH or chase figure.Has anyone else found any of them yet? ???

I went ahead and merged this into the Bounty Hunt thread... you should be able to find what you're looking for here.

Ok,so the UGH are not out yet it seems. When does wave 2 come out?Next month? Is there a date like the Aug. 6th we had for this one?
Title: Re: Vintage "Bounty Hunt" Foil Cards

I mentioned this in another thread, but basically when things start turning up online in pictures, they're a month or so out...  Hasbro said 6 weeks between waves in 2010 I think, but I don't know that they necessarilly meant 6 weeks out from August 6th's "street date", and so I'm wagering we'll see Wave 2 around early September.  Just my guess though.

The first UGH shipments should start around the release of the ROTS (Wave 2) wave, no? The first UGH chase figures will be first shipped with the ROTS cases, and will eventually be spread out to cover many more cases of upcoming waves and shipments.

These (ROTS wave (http://twitpic.com/2icxfv)) are starting to hit on the west coast.

Boy oh boy, do those look great. I'm glad to see the electricity effect on the Magna Guard's staff is purple and not red, as was shown a couple of times.

This Chase is already DOA, this is all I found left at two stores. I found a mint Vader, Han and Magnaguard today. Anakin, Grevious and Cody were the only ones missing at both stores. I tore open the Magnaguard with zero hesitation, I am not normally a MOC collector but I always have been with the Vintage packaging. The foil card means nothing to me, I prefer the plain card.

I hit an out of the way WM today searching for the Jabba pack, and found the ROTS and probably 5 or 6 of the "foil" carded figures.  I'm not sure how rare these are supposed to be, but they seemed in decent supply here.  Off the top of my head, I believe I saw foil versions of Anakin, Clonetrooper, Boba Fett, Cody, and Bespin Luke.

I found these at Wally today too.  Four of the new figures were foil, which I think is the ratio in each case.  I have no interest in them, so I'm ripping open a couple for openers.

I must be wrong about seeing 5 foil figures then, because I believe there was only one case worth on the pegs.  I may not have seen the Cody, but I'm pretty sure the others (Fett, Anakin, Clonetrooper, Luke) were there - actually, I picked up the Anakin and Fett.
