In case you missed it, K-Mart is running a "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" deal on Star Wars this week.
At my particular K-Mart, the selection sucks and the stuff is over-priced to the point that you aren't getting much of a deal anymore ($30 EVO sets, $10 basic figs), but it's worth a look if you live someplace where K-Mart doesn't totally suck...
-
I'll continue talking to myself in this thread to let you all know that my local Target dropped the basic figure price today to $6.99 on all three lines (Legacy, Legends, CW). You might want to check your local Targets and try to get a reciept adjustment for anything you bought this week.
I figured Target would price-match Wm & TRU eventually, but I wasn't expecting it to come so soon...
-
Thanks Jeff - Next time I go grocery shopping I'm going to get $2 back!
-
I've noticed Target dropping prices all week. I bought 3 figures there on Monday for $8.99 each, and on a time killing trip there yesterday I saw they were $7.99. Good to see they're matching WM and TRU, too bad they're all picked over.
-
I went to Target today to find the last 2 evo packs which I did and they had figures for $6.99 as well.
I only bought 6 prior to the drop but just out of principle I will take my receipts for the adjustment, they are bastards, I am getting sick of their quick drops. Price it right the first time.

That didn't take them very long, they had to be hurting from Wal-Mart and TRU have a more competitive price. Now I'm looking forward to the eventual 10-20% sale Target will have in a couple of weeks so I can score me the V-19 and Spider Droid. They always do these sales after a few weeks of a new toy line launch...
-
Good to know they're dropping prices. I'd written them off out of principle till they started to be competitive, so now I can put them back on the list of "OK to buy from".
-
Saw Target's price drop as well. I knew the $8 price point wouldn't hold when I saw that TRU's price was $7.

Pretty sure they're going back up to $8 across the board so consider it a one month break.

Check the front page here for that 10-20% off sale at Target. ;)
And thanks to our Target Sources for the tip.

Well that didn't take long. I was expecting the sale to hit the week after the movie came out, but this will do just fine. Time to score those vehicles I've held out on, maybe find me that damn Rebel Pilots 2 Evolutions set.

$8.99?! Are you sure? $9 a figure is seriously ridiculous.

Good news! I'll have to gather all my receipts together again for another price match next week... :)

I knew this would happen. Good thing I held out on a lot of things, though I did get quite a few price adjustments at Target this morning. The AT-TE is marked at $89.99, but the Falcon didn't have any sale markings on the shelf. I assume that sucker is on sale as well, no? I didn't feel like lagging that huge box up to the scanner.
-
I don't believe the BMF was on sale, none of the stores I was at today had it marked anyway
-
The only things I bought at Target were the AT-TE and battlepacks, due to the ****** pricing at Target, so I may try to get the AT-TE adjusted if I can. I'll give it a go anyway and see what happens.
I got my $20 vehicles at TRU I do believe as they were not out at my Target when I stopped by that day. I did however pick up 2nd's of the V-19 and Homing Droid today. :)
-
Glad I held off on some of the vehicles. I scored a Homing Spider Droid at Target today, and even with tax the sale price was $17 and change.
-
Hey good news! Went to my local Target and they slashed their prices on TLC and CWC to $6.99. Bad News TRUS raised their prices on the same figures to $7.99. I was going to talk to the manager and let her know that Wal Marts was kicking their ass in the price wars. I refuse to buy a $7.99 figure..not going to happen.
-
Was very unnerved to see that KayBee raised prices on TLC figures. $9.99 each? It's like they want to go out of business.
-
Does anyone understand the TRU pricing logic? Offer the figs for $7 when they're hot and people would have paid whatever for them, but now that the excitement has died down, they restock, raise the prices to $8 and ditch the free Grievous offer. Seems like a good way to make less profit in the beginning and next to no sales from here on out. ???

and what funny is they have the TAC Legends figures for 6.99 still..the same ones repacked for the Saga legends line
-
I think TRU always planned to have the figs at $8, but had to reduce the price so people would actually go to Midnight Madness.
-

Holy crap! They were $8.99 on 7/26! I bought Saesee and Padme there. How is that place even is business still. I am sure they are very excited about the new Robocop movie coming......
And TRU raising their prices is sad, I wanted to give them the support. Thankfully I already ordered my next two cases from NFC. I hate shopping at stores for the bulk of my collecting.
-
My local Target also raised prices to $8, matching TRU. Looks like I'm buying exclusively at Wal-Mart now, unless I see something totally exclusive and rare that's worth the money.
-
Exactly. I'm a WM guy now if Target and TRU are both gonna go to the $8... If WM goes that way, well then I guess that's just gonna be what it is then. :-\
It never hurts to call the district offices of any of these companies and complain either. I suggest it as basically the only thing you can do to raise a stink over it.
-

I did exactly that. Sent a complaint letter to TRU about them jackin up their prices so shortly after the MM sale. I did get an apologetic response and said they would be forwarding the issue to HQ. I don't have a lot of faith that it will do anything, but we'll see.
-
You'd be surprised. I may just do the same thing this week Jman... The more the better I say.
Target here is indeed up... It sucks. I'll likely be forced into making buys there too as really nobody here is restocking jack it seems, save for Target restocking a case here and there. WM's not moved a single thing since the 26th. TRU, well they're too far away for me to bother checking.
-
My local TRU jacked up the prices on not only the figures, but seemingly everything else over the last few days. All three figure lines are up to 7.99, with the Starfighter vehicle assortment going from 19.99 to 24.99 for no apparent reason (other than that's what TRU charged for the 30AC Starfighter assortment). Target jacked up their prices to follow suit, with the basic figures back at 7.99 after only dropping to 6.99 on Monday of last week. Wal-Mart's still holding steady at 6.63, but I don't see that lasting much longer once they get wind of the other retailer's pricing strategies.
On a bizarre note, TRU is running a "Buy One, Get One at 50% Off" sale on SW comic packs, Galactic Heroes, and SW TFs this week. Naturally, TRU didn't restock for this sale, and have nothing but Mouse/Basso and Tarkin/ST from the 30AC line on the shelves. But hey, if you're looking for any of the peripheral stuff and your TRU is better than mine, it might be a good time to stop by.
-
If they had the Luke/Imp Chick or other comic packs, that would be an ok sale to get some fodder.
I noticed comic packs were $13 at Target last night, along with $8 figures... Yeesh... I hate price hikes. All attributed to rising oil prices right? I wonder if we'll see prices come down with oil?
Yeah, I don't think so either.
-
Couple of savings ideas for those feeling the pain of Legacy spending...
#1 Comic Pack sale this week is buy one, get one 50% off. They are still $11.99 at TRU, so huge savings over Target if you can find what you want. My TRU didn't have any more of the new ones, but they are the same DPCI at Target, so if you find new ones at the Red Dot, buy those and return your TRU ones. I found my new CPs at Target last week and picked up two older ones at TRU today. Excluding tax, I spent $26.58 at Target versus $17.98 at TRU for a savings of $8.60.
#2 I received a coupon booklet at TRU while making my purchase and it has two coupons good for 20% a single item. One can't be used until 8/15 and the other can't be used until 8/22. These are perfect for big ticket items like the BMF or AT-TE. I was groaning about paying $40 for my B-Wing this week, but I took it to the service desk with my coupon and she took 20% off my B-Wing, which knocked it down to $32. She noted that the coupon wasn't supposed to be used until later in the week, but I asked her nicely and she fixed it anyway. ;D
Still not a fan of the increased pricing, but there are some good deals to be had at TRU!
-
I noticed that our local Target jacked the basic figure price back up to $8 again too, just a week after dropping it down to $7. I haven't checked our TRU in awhile, but they haven't had any basic figures stocked since MM anyways. Wal-Mart has a pretty good supply of Wave 1 (and repacks) from both lines, and are currently charging $6.94. I hate to say it, but if the prices stay this way, I might have to start checking WM regularly again - as much as I hate going in there.
-
Woot! TRU Can is having a sale on their figures until The 16th. $5.97 for all basic figures (legends, legacy and clone). I am just happy I kept my receipt cause I just called and they said they will do a price adjust without the product for me today :) Now I just hope I can find the rebel V2 set that was reported being spotted at that TRU.
On another note I am very surprised to see that the AT-Te is selling at $5 less than in the states at WM yet it is being sold for $130 at zellers. Price for this years items are so messed up. TRU vehicles go for $30. Yet at WM they are $27 but at sears (the place that never gets SW stuff anymore unless its the holiday season) is selling them for $25, although I have only seen the clone helmets at sears anyways.
-
I hate to say it, but if the prices stay this way, I might have to start checking WM regularly again - as much as I hate going in there.
That was the first store I hit on 07/26. :-X
-
These figures are not going to move much at 7.99, so it's safe to say that at Target especially you'll have a large selection come clearance time.
TRU is another story - they'd rather have the figs on the shelf for 3 years before marking them down.
-

I found the same situation in Chicago. Targets and TRU are back up to $7.99 for basic figures. TRU is also back up to $24.99 for vehicles (7/26 they were $19.99) I am glad I bought this crap when I did and got my price adjustments from Target during the sale week. I wanted to pick up some Legends Clone Troopers today and went to WM purposely to save a few bucks. The WM's here have a great selection as they were all late to put out this crap. It's a shame for the prices raises, I wanted to support TRU more this year. I was relived at the MM sale when they wer $6.99, that was the best surprise as I expected $7.99 off the bat. They did get $600 in one shot from me on 7/26 so I gave ample support already for this year.
-
Are you guys sure that the TRU sale is this week? I stopped in and they didn't know anything about it. They said the latest ad comes out next week.
On the annoying side, I did take some comic packs up to purchase (to see of they came up on sale,) but somehow, the legacy comic packs, of which they had a ton, weren't in the system yet. ???

Which sale are you referring to? The buy one get one for 50% at TRU should be on right now - they have signage up and it automatically rang up that way on Sunday. Someone also posted cheaper prices on basic figs, but I think that was at TRUs in Canada.
-
Yep, buy one, get one 50% off. There was no signage up at my store either. :(
-
I stopped in at TRU yesterday (which did have the sale stuff posted), and they had raised their prices up on figures ($7.99), battle packs/GH cinema scenes/etc. ($24.99). They had finally restocked since MM, with the pegs full of figures, and evolutions packs (Sith repack and 1 Imperial Pilots) on the shelves. No GH cinema scenes, comic packs, etc. though.
-
Check out this lett I received back from Target Guest Service after complaining about the price moving from $8 down to $7, then back up to $8 the next week. I'm going to print a few copies, shred them, and spread them over my garden as I believe this will make great fertilizer. >:(
"Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and feelings about our price matching policy for the Star Wars action figures. We've established our policy as one way guests may expect value and low prices on all our merchandise. Target doesn't price match or price adjust with other competitor stores. (REALLY? I used to work with Target for Ctgy Mgmt and we would specifically audit local Wal-Marts to check prices!) I'm sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this may have caused.
We're always looking for ways to make the Target experience better for every guest. As a result, I'll make sure to share your comments with our Store Operations team.
Thanks for shopping with us. I hope we'll see you again soon at Target.
Sincerely,
Garry
Target Guest Relations"
Thanks Garry - definitely hope to see YOU on my next shopping trip so I can tell you what I think in person. I'll be picking up my SW from Wal-Mart despite the added gas prices and inconvenience of getting there, or worst case spending my $8 per figure at TRU.
-
Pretty good deal over at Brian's Toys...yes I said Brian's Toys. Spend $75 on in stock merchandise and get 4 figures free!
Go to This Link to sign up for the four figures (http://www.brianstoys.com/store/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=FREECLONEWARS2008), then put $75 worth of instock goodies in your basket.
When you check out, use this promotional code to change the price of the four figs to free:
FREECLONEWARS2008
I bought all of these at retail, so just returning them will net me over $30, making my BT purchase $50 instead of $80...not a bad deal!

Ughh, my local TRU's are filled with idiots! The first TRU I've been trying to score the Buy One get one half off comic packs wouldn't honor the sale, saying the comic packs weren't part of it, despite the fact that I had the ad. I went to a second and almost walked out with the same result. Turns out, at least my TRU's have a glitch in the system, only one of the three sets is keyed in for the sale which is throwing them off.
-
http://www.brianstoys.com/store/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=S8L3CCLONETROOPERFELUCIAC9
??? I assume you're pointing out the crummy prices at Brian's? Not very helpful. ::) Let's try to stay on topic...
I'm not a big fan and have never ordered from them before, but there are good deals to be had with this offer. Try this one:
http://www.brianstoys.com/store/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=S8L3CCASEASST0223
Witht he freebies, you get 16 figures for about $5.70 a piece, which is about 30% lower than Target and TRU prices. AND its shipped right to your house.

A WM I visited today had the Droid factory 2-packs for only $3 each, several Naboo yellow guys and Kitiks for $3 each, and the Lando/Stormtrooper comics pack for... $3 each!

This was in Hammond, LA, which is about a half hour east of Baton Rouge. They've had big clearances like this in the past too.
-
Time for a roadtrip! :D
-
DB, if you stock up on any of those droid packs, let me know. I'd love more of the droids if you've got extras.

Looks like WM is having a "sale" on SW this week complete with Sunday circular - even though no pricing has changed. I have a feeling they're going to be raising their prices pretty quick.
-
Any current discount codes on HTS?
-
PONY10 expires 12/31/08

Thanks.

So according to Yakface, TRU is now back to $6.99 for basic figure prices.
I think this is just a sale price for this week, though I've sent complaints about the pricing to two seperate folks at corporate and on their TRU survey. If others are complaining, maybe they will make a longer term price change?
-
If we're lucky, WM will maybe force the hands of the others to lower prices. I'd be content with just TRU coming down anyway. Target, they're a greedy one I've noticed and jack prices up regardless of competition, so we'll see.

Well the best way to get their attention is to just stop buying from them...7.99 is just way way way to much..

I've made sure to mention the 15% price difference between TRU and WM in every response I've sent to TRU. ;)
-
Went by my Local Target today $7.99 with a Walmart less then 2 miles down the road why would I pay a $1 more? I hate going to WalMarts, but still a $1 is a $1. Anyway it just gives me an excuse to cut back like I had planned for a long time. And with these prices it makes it just that much easier to so. So far I have bought a total of 4 LC figures and have no more interest till the wave with more Jabba's palace creatures,Ewoks, and Jedi. No more Hans,Lukes,VAders, R2, C3PO,clones, Chewys..well you get the hint the standards they always roll out..year after year.
-
The best part about shopping at WM or TRU versus Target is that I go into those stores, buy or do not buy Star Wars and leave. I can rarely get out of Target without purchasing something else. :-\
-
TRU is running a sale this week on Battle Packs and Mid-Sized Vehicles, 25% off, so they're $18.74 in stead of $24.99.
-
Just an FYI that you can get $15 off any order of $99 or more at EE when you use this link (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/hitlist.asp?id=HA-807301583&spotlight=317) and enter the code 4503080 during checkout.

Any TRU online coupon codes? I can't seem to find any
-
Not sure if this has been brought up yet or not, but I stopped by Target this morning before work...
Assault Vehicles - $21.99
Battepacks - $21.99
Evo Sets - $21.99
GH Cinema Scenes - $21.99
Lightsabers - $21.99
Target doesn't usually have isolated price increases/decreases so I'd expect this to be a nationwide thing. We're getting less product and we're paying more money for it. Yay ::)

Yikes! I have been buying less and less a Target, especially Comic Packs & Basic figures. More reason not to shop there, their prices are starting to kick it K-Mart style.
-
Lightsabers and Battle Packs are $21.76 at Wal-Mart now too... not sure about the rest as I didn't see any. :-X

I so picked the right year to stop collecting carded/boxed.

Picked two Commander Fox's at local target for $3.50 each. I saw them on the pegs and I knew they would be discounted so I scanned and sure enough.... ;D

No idea, but it worked for me about a week or so ago.
Just a follow-up for people to watch out using this code. I ordered 2 Legends figures ($6.99) and a Legacy figure ($7.99), then used the code. To my surprise, I got 20% off and free shipping, so order came to $18 and change. ;D
My order came a few days ago and figs were minty, but here's the catch - despite an email confirmation, the invoice with my package showed that they charged me $23 and change. >:( Not sure how they think that's remotely acceptible - I've received no other communication that my order price should be different. I wrote them a scathing email about it, so we'll see what happens.
Point is - if you use this code, be sure to check your hard copy invoice to make sure they didn't jack your price back up.
-
Not that it's SW related but most IJ stuff is on sale at Target this week... Saw vehicles were $15 and change, not too bad there.

TRU in Canada is doing the same thing. 25% of all Indy toys...the end is coming closer.

Pretty convenient that code expires just as lots of new stuff shows up. However, disc10 works, knocking off 10%. Not sure when that expires. It worked for me just now, picking up Ahsoka and Cody.

Just a quick follow-up to this. While the invoice didn't show the discount, they only charged my CC $18. Sounds like the discount just doesn't show on the printed invoice, so all is good!
-

Not sure what stuff you're referring to. They had Legacy Wave 3, latest line of legends, and the W2 Clone Wars figs when I placed my order.
-
But they didn't have GI Joe wave 10 or the newer vehicles from that line until the code expired.

And another HTS promo code: MDCREW, good for 20% off until 11/17.

I wounder if they will do the 25% off + free shipping again this year like they did last X-Mas time.

I don't think there are too many people here who shop at K-Mart, but this week they have Galactic Heroes Cinema Scenes and the boxed lightsabers on sale for $14.99. Basic figures are $4.99. They didn't have any basic figs I wanted, except for a couple 30AC (Stormie and Juno), so those were the only ones I got. No Cinema Scenes at the two K-Marts I went to yesterday.
-
KM's are like fly **** here so I'll hit them up to see what's doin'.
-
$4.99 figures eh? That's a great deal these days... was at Kmart on Saturday and they were stacked with army builders, so I'll swing by there after work tonight. Yay.
-
Yeah, the 30AC figures rang up at regular price, like $8 or so, but I had the flier with me. It says soemthing like 'Star Wars 3 3/4" figures $4.99'. I don't know if they only meant the Legacy and Clone Wars figures to be on sale, but the flier didn't specify, so I made them change the price on my purchase.
-
No 30AC here, but they had Wave 2 Legacy remnants so I got 2 IG Lancers, a Quad Gunner, and a Dust storm Han (customs) all for $20-ish. There's those rare times KM comes through. $5 for a figure that has an $8.39 price sticker on it is great...
What's even better though? 3 of my figures have a $12.39 sticker on them (I **** you not). Yes, my store was apparantly thinking these were $12 figures.
K-Mart... The store that just doesn't get what they are doing wrong.
-
I hit Kmart tonight and all the figs (Legacy, Legends, TCW) were ringing up at $5.

What's even better though? 3 of my figures have a $12.39 sticker on them (I **** you not). Yes, my store was apparantly thinking these were $12 figures.
K-Mart... The store that just doesn't get what they are doing wrong.

Weird.
-
Anyone gonna take this to WM for pricematching by the way? I'm thinking of giving that a whirl tomorrow actually... $4.99 figures are a steal. They should honor that as long as you take the flyer with you. I know one WM near me has like 12 pegs full of good 30AC figures (army builders and such). Lots of Legacy too... May have to go see what I can scoop up there. :)

I forgot about WM price matching policy....

I thought about that, but seems like a hassle to have to go to the service desk and I'm pretty much caught up anyway. If anything, I'd buy some Kmart figs and return them to other retailers with old receipts, but even that didn't seem worthwhile. Maybe I'm just being lazy.
-
Cashiers should just alter the price at the register, no need to go to CSR desks... I used it twice tonight and picked up 8 Wave 2 & 3 army builders.

Where did you use it at? I've never had any luck getting the cashier level person to make these price changes.
-
As long as you have the ad with you, you should be able to just show it to them and get the adjustment. I used it once in a Lawn & Garden checkout, and once at a 20 items or less at the front of the store. No problems. You just have to specifically show the price listed in the ad.
Irony is that I've had more trouble getting the people that work at the store the actual ad is for, to do anything for me. :) KM sucks.
-
Saw the figures on discount at KM here. They were not list in the ad though. ???

I meant which retailer is letting you ad match. ;)

WM... They're the only place that does price matching anymore as far as I know.

Thanks! WM is pretty far from my place and I only get there a handful of times each year. :-\ Glad this is working out for others though!
-
Sounds like me and TRU. None of those anywhere near me... WM's, much easier to get to, and Target getting the same way. TRU though, is impossible to get to unless you're hitting a mall sometime.
-
Looks like an early version of TRU's Black Friday Ad (http://www.blackfriday.info/sales/toys-r-us-big-toy-book-black-friday-ad.html) has hit the net:
Lego Star Wars The Twilight - $89.99
Lego Star Wars Republic Attack Gunship - $129.99
Star Wars Galactic Heroes Cinema Scene - $24.99
Star Wars Republic AT-TE Walker - $99.99
Star Wars The Legacy Collection: Millenium Falcon - $159.99
I'm not really seeing any "sale" type discounts there, everything looks like normal price. Bummer, I was hoping to see some nice deep discounts this year... :(
-
Yeah, I was wondering if i misread the prices or what, hah.
Oh well... If they did figures, B2G1F I'd be there... Even with their rape prices, it's not a bad deal.
Use those $4.99 K-Mart ads out there to clean out WM folks. My store's down to bare bones... Maybe I'll see Wave 4 sooner rather than later then!
-
Looks like an early version of TRU's Black Friday Ad (http://www.blackfriday.info/sales/toys-r-us-big-toy-book-black-friday-ad.html) has hit the net:
Upon closer review, even though it's on a Black Friday Ad site, the linked ad there is apparently just an upcoming TRU ad/catalog and is not the "official" Black Friday ad... that's what I get for trusting stuff I read on the interwebs. ::)
-
Checked my K-Mart today, and didn't really need anything. It was nice to see $5 figures though! If I collected PT and EU stuff, there would be tons for me to get. Maybe next time 8)
-
My local Target in Socal now has TLC and CWC action figures at $6.95
-
I noticed our local Target had dropped the Legacy Collection and Clone Wars basic figure prices to $6.94 here as well (exactly the same as WM), while the Legends stuff remains at $7.99. Of course, they are all mixed on the pegs together, so that should make things nice and clear for parents looking to buy their kiddos a Star Wars figure. Plus, I'm sure the higher price point will certainly move all the pegwarming Legends out of the way :).
-
My local Target in Socal now has TLC and CWC action figures at $6.95
Some of my Target store are doing the same as well. Price cut.
-
I noticed the other day that the price has gone down, at least for Clone Wars figures, which are now being sold at the amazingly low price of $7.64 (as opposed to the original $7.99). ::)
-
I know I'll practically get shouted down for this, since no one shops there, or believes they are still open, but I say KB is doing a toy sale this week. Galactic Heroes 2-packs are $5.99, Mighty Muggs are $9.99, and if you spend $30 you get a Star Wars shirt, I think its or, you get a $10 gift card to use on your next $30 purchase, atleast that's how I read the ad.
-
KB doesn't do sales often so it's a bummer basic figures aren't included, as their stock is sometimes decent but prices suck. They had overstock of the military line I collect for like 3 for $10 though, and that's outstanding. KB's are still around here, but now there's only two I think within any worthy driving distance for me.
If they, or TRU for that matter, were competitively priced, I'm sure I'd be there frequently.
-
So KMart is doing another $5 figure sale this week. That's twice in the last 3 weeks or so. I'm wondering if they are hurting bad and are hoping to drive sales in the rest of their store. WalMart actually has more than two figures on the shelf though, so I'll be taking the ad there if I get anything this week...
-
At $8.50 or more a figure, I imagine they're desperate on some level, haha. Still it's the best SW figure sale since B1G1 sales at TRU really. I'm down for a trip to KM on a whim just to see if they've got any army builders I want. The last $4.99 deal I got quite a few IG Lancer droids, and some Quarren/Mon Cals... Also a couple Quad Gunner Clones. Had I seen Scuba Clones I'd have gone nuts stocking up on those.
-
My Target had the big vehicles marked down trough Saturday today. The AT-TE was $89.99 and the BMF was marked down to $124.99. Not a bad deal if you haven't picked them up yet.
-
Was able to take advantage of this weeks K-Mart deal already. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
-
Does anyone know if there are any HTS codes out there?
-
Does anyone know if there are any HTS codes out there?
I was wondering the same thing. I know the MDCREW one seems to be expired, but I was curious if we've got any current HTS codes as well.
-
I just got the latest HTS catalog in the mail, and there's no codes to be found. They are offering free shipping on orders $75 or more, though.
-
DISC10 for 10% off
SW2009 for 10% off all Star Wars toys
Nothing great but those seem to be current ones.
-
Kohl's is having a sale on their Star Wars toys. You can pick up basics and GH sets for $6.79 each. I finished the wave 3s from Legacy and CW with this sale.
-
So kohl's is now marked down to where everybody else is basically at? ::)
-
So kohl's is now marked down to where everybody else is basically at? ::)
Yup. At least they're carrying the newer waves of various lines as opposed to "the big three" I also get a lot of 15% off coupons in the mail so yee-haw and stuff.
-
Hey, credit is due to them for simply doing more than TRU is, and they're not a toy store nor do they carry a big toy department. TRU is the one screwing the pooch here IMO. >:( I've not bought a basic figure off them in quite some time.
-
holiday25 for 25% off and free shipping over $50 good till 12/15 at HTS.
-
I think its only today and tomorrow, but the local paper had an add for sales at TRU and it mentioned one Star Wars toy. It said that "Classic" Star Wars Battlepacks are on sale for IIRC $15.99. It said something along the lines of it include Luke, Wampa, TaunTaun, etc. Which sounds like a particular Hoth pack, but the picture was of a Clone Wars pack with Anakin and some STAPS, sorry I'm not up to speed on all the battlepacks. So, its either only a couple packs on sale and they used the wrong picture, or Battlepacks are on sale at TRU today and tomorrow. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, I saw these tags placed at my local TRU on the Legacy BPs
(http://www.yakface.com/2008/december/truBPsale.jpg)
-
Outstanding sale. I see a lot of STAP packs disappearing suddenly.
-
New code for HTS- GIFT20, good for 20% off a purchase. It expires Dec. 15th. :)
-
And another HTS code- holiday25 for 25% off.
-
So as you all know KB is closing. The one near me has everything 40%. So Legacy figs are like $6 and the remaining 30AC are like $4 something.
-
Are there any HTS codes that are currently working? I was about to place an order for a few little gifts (not for Christmas, but shortly after), and the holiday25 and gift 20 ones don't seem to be working for me. Just thought I'd check before I placed an order.
-
The Target UBP's have had a Price cut. They're $54.99 now.
-

There's some decent deals there. I stocked up on some army builders there. And some of the leftover VTAC figures are about $5.
-
My wife and I hit KB yesterday on a lark. Wow. It happened to be the last day and there was almost nothing left.
-
I noticed that "the big three" are all pretty much wiped out of everything Star Wars with the exception of the six breasted lady.
-
I drove by a KayBee near my house and saw a guy standing with a sign about the clearances. Prices are now 50 - 70% off.
-
One Wal-mart I visited had the Legacy A-Wing on clearance for half price at $15! Check your WMs, guys!
-

Thanx I will...
Edited: **** I'm too late the AT's are gone... plus the A- wings still at $29
Last time I went it had two AT-TE at $64.00 I'm so tempred to buy both even if it has the legs issue...easy fix.
Also had 3 Gunship left at $49.99 and the next two days two were gone I bought the last one, now I have 2 CW Gunship need a 3rd or 4th to the upcoming gree clones... so I have one for Cody squad, Fox squad, I have Rex left alone...
Thanx again mate :)
-

Hey dude. If your Wal Mart still has those, I could use up to three. If you could help me out I'd be very, very grateful. My local stores never stocked them. PM me if you can some A-Wings.
-
Saw my first BMF on clearance at a Target out East from me - $100. Didn't buy it, but it was good to know they could be had on clearance locally.
-
Greg- I should have elaborated in my post, but the WM I visited was on the way back from an out-of-town trip, so it's quite a distance. My local WM never got any A-Wings, but if somehow they show up, I'll let you know!
-
I really wanted to pick up one of those new A-Wings as well, but they never hit our stores locally either. I keep hoping they are being held for a later set (post Christmas), but I don't know if that's likely or not.
-
Those were sporadic here at best... One WM has them still I think, but only one and I haven't been there in a while. I saw them at maybe 40% of the WM's I visit though. Not good odds then. They had a ton though, which was ironic. Some stores had nada, others had a deluge of them.
WM's distribution is its major flaw. If they were as structured as Target on distribution, they'd be a much more appreciated source of figures I think. You can at least count on Target to have the stuff in stock at every store at some point... even if they won't get it for you and won't put it out for about a month after it's release. ::)

I couldn't have said that better myself.
Beautiful :'(
-
$7.99 for basic figures at Target? Bogus.
Though, it does seem like prices go up this time of year and then correct themselves a few months down the road.
-
So, how long before we're back down to $6.99?
I'll agree with the good Mr. Anton about the price changing each new year. Though it seems that until now it was more when the lines/packaging changed. For example:
'04-'05
OTC:$4.99
POTC: $6.99 (And we thought that was high)
'05-'06
ROTS:$4.99-$5.99
TSC: $6.99
Spring '07
TSC: $5.99-$6.50
TAC: $6.99
Summer '08
TAC: $6.99
TLC/CW: $7.99
This year kinda ruins the system. I was expecting a price hike with the new red packaging, but not now. I am hoping that a price reduction comes sooner rather than later. I have yet to see the outrageous $9 pricepoint. I didn't like $7.00, but it seemed like the balance point between over priced and bargain. I'm buying one of each figure (if that) until we're back to $7.00. If that doesn't happen, I'll do my army building at Toy Shows. I kinda regret getting four Space Clones yesterday at Target. At $8.00, one of each is tolerable, doubling up is a sting, but army builidng is overkill.
-
but army builidng is overkill.
Amen. I'm glad I don't need any more platoons of 36.
-
Figs are $8.79 at my nearest Target now. I don't evern want to think about it if I find Legacy wave 5 there.
-
Does anyone know of if there is a valid free shipping and/or discount code for Hasbro Toy Shop currently?
-
I think smile8 is good for 10% off, but that's thirdhand news. It's worth a try.
I noticed a $7.46 price on SW toys at my local WM. I guess I missed the memo, since that was news to me.
-
Just not worth it anymore.
-
Well, I saw yesterday that the Target where I do most of my buying has raised the basic figure price to $8.79. After the ANH wave, I think I quit. :-\
-
Well, I saw yesterday that the Target where I do most of my buying has raised the basic figure price to $8.79. After the ANH wave, I think I quit. :-\
$8.19 has killed the Titanium line for me. $8.79 will do the same for basic figs - that is until I find w5. Is Hasbro forcing us die-hards to quit collecting, or is it Target?
-
Well, we have been known to pay $10, $12, $15, $20 for a single carded figure in the past. Hasbro upping the price is just a reaction to our buying habbits. Of course, those where "exclusives". I wonder if the entire star wars line will become "exclusives" eventually.
-
I wonder if the entire star wars line will become "exclusives" eventually.
I highly doubt it, even though it is starting to happen to Mighty Muggs.
I dunno, $8.79 is just way too much for me, I can't support collecting anymore. I'll pick and choose a few of my favorites every now and then (Wave 5, ICMG) but I'm pretty much done with actively collecting these. And when you think about it, as long as they can raise the price of the basic figures, they can pretty much raise the prices of everything else because it'll still be a 'deal.' For example since basic figures are $8.79, they can get away with making comic packs $16 or making battle packs $30. So it really sucks that this is happening to the line. :-\
-
The price hikes are really starting to sting. I haven't seen anything over $7.99 here personally, although that is high enough. If we start hitting closer to $9 on average across the country, that will really make me think twice as well. I've been one (of the few) that is collecting most of the Clone Wars line as well, but I'm starting to think I might have to let those go - or just pick up a few here and there (like Kit Fisto, etc.). If they are going to start charging this type of price for the basic figures, I really hope they slow down the releases per year, or I'll never be able to keep up.
-
I just keep thanking my lucky stars that I decided to cut back on my collecting habits with this line.
-
Well, if Kohl's had some current stock (like Wave 5) in, they'd have a pretty good deal (BOGO free, I think... Even BOGO 1/2 price would be almost a steal at Target's rates!)
-

Yeah, it is. My wife told me about it and I saw it at the Knollwood Kohls, but all they had were 2 Yarnas and 2 Malars. Need to try the Maple Grove one.
-
The Knollwood Kohl's hasn't gotten any new figs in months. I'm thinking maybe they are done carrying SW stuff. Has anyone seen a Kohl's that has gotten stuff in lately?
-
Had to run to Rite aid to pick up medication and perused the toy isle, figures are up to $12, even the FF 8D8. :o
-
So that is where the FF 8D8 went! ;)
-
I got you all beat! I just paid 9.19 for the BAD Tattoine wave at Target. It's in a fancy twon, I wonder if the next one over (in the less afluent area) will be cheaper? Yes, army building is over.
-
You knew it was coming...the local K-Mart has raised the price for basic figures (Legacy, CW, and Saga Legends) to 8.99. I grabbed another MagnaGuard this morning and found this out at the register, so needless to say, he's going back in the morning. :-\
-
There appears to be a lot of good products coming out in 2009, but I have to be very choosy as to what I buy. What a shame. I guess it's just the sign of the times. Time to invest in the lottery ;).
-
Army building is definitely over with (except for a few figures) and I too am being very picky with what I buy. I'm already down to basic figures only, maybe 2 comic packs a year. Also for what it's worth I've bought maybe two Star Wars items at Target over the last year, their prices are just insane.
-
I'm not buying basic carded figures for a penny over $7.99
That's my limit.
-
Army building is definitely over with (except for a few figures)
Mercifully, waves seven and eight have no army builders, so I can pick a few extra Hoth rebels without breaking the bank.
-
i am about to do an order at HTS; anybody know of any promotion codes on discounts and/or shipping?
-
I think smile8 is good for 10% off, but that's thirdhand news. It's worth a try.
Thanks. This does work. I used it today for a purchase.

I noticed in GH's weekly Q and A this week, they mentioned how the days of the $20 vehicle are going to soon be gone. I've seen it mentioned before, but I noticed that our local WM has raised their vehicle prices to $24.77 now ($24.99 at TRU). Surprisingly, I think Target is the only one currently at $19.99 (some stores might be $21.99 now that I think of it). I guess it goes hand in hand with all the other price hikes lately, but it really is too bad. The vehicles for $20 always felt like a pretty decent value for the most part, but some will seem less and less every time we jump $5.
-

I'm okay with $20 to $25 for the new mid-size vehicles. New sculpts are totally worth that. Its just unfortunate that the repacked/repainted stuff will have to cost that much as well, buecause it will likely sit and kill the distribution.
-
Not too many more new $20 vehicles to do from the OT anyway. Not going have much of an impact on me.
-

No longer working. Anyone know of any new ones?

I saw on another site that "SW2009" should be good for 10% off SW merchandise. I've not used it though, so I can't confirm it; hopefully, it will work for you.
-

Thanks. I did see that, but was ordering Marvel Universe figs and it wasn't giving me a discount. I found 5 of the figs I wanted in stock and didn't want to pass it up, but it was going to cost $50 with tax and shipping. :P
How's this for a discount though...while searching for Hasbro Coupons, I came upon an Ebay offer for a $100 Gift Certificate to Hasbro Toy Shop for $54.99. I gave it a shot and got the code in about an hour. Went to Hasbro and it worked fine - even allowed me to use the GC for Tax and Shipping! I had to find another $55 worth of toys, but just picked up other items I bought from retail and will return those (prices were actually cheaper on comic packs and battle packs at HTS anyway). On top of that, I used the SW2009 code to knock another $5 off the extra SW items I bought.
So I ended up spending $55 + $3 over my $100 total, but I'm planning to get about $60 back on my SW returns (2 BPs and a comic pack), so I got my 5 Marvel Universe figs for -$2! Sweet!
-
I went to Target the other day and saw that there's a temporary "Price Cut" from $8.79 to $8.24. Yipee. ::) They're gonna have to do more than that to move all the Yarnas and Ak-Revs. I keep noticing a 1st Day of Issue Ak-Rev that's just been sitting there every time I've gone since July.
-
Yet another Battle Pack price hike...Every Wal-Mart in my immediate vicinity (about five of them) have raised the prices on their Battle Packs from 21.96 to 23.96 in the past week. Target is still holding steady at 21 and change, but I'm sure that won't last.
So, Hasbro drops the fifth figure to keep prices at the 20 dollar price point, only for retailers to increase the retail price by 4 bucks anyway, meaning the Battle Packs really aren't a deal at all now with four figures (which are usually repaints and retools) at right around what you'd pay for four individual figures at retail to begin with. Stuff like the Yavin Hangar set I can stomach, but for them to drop the Nikto figure from the animated Jabba set and STILL have WM charge 24 bucks for it is just ridiculous.
I think that all these prices going up is going to come back and bite Hasbro and retail in the ass. >:(
-
Target is still holding steady at 21 and change, but I'm sure that won't last.
I was at Target today and they were 24 something. :-\
-
BPs have been $24.99 at Targets in my area for months.
-
I see Han's Hideout (http://hanshideout.blogspot.com/2009/03/on-sale-at-toys-r-us-this-week.html) has posted that TRU is running a sale this week offering the "starfighter" vehicles and battle packs for $14.99 each. Not too bad. I've been contemplating buying an AAT, so if our store has one this price might finally get me to do it.
-

My TRU was doing this sale too, but they didn't have any battlepacks left :(
They did have about a dozen B-Wings left, though none of them came up as a valid item when I tried to do the price checker, to see if they were on sale. So I took one up to the customer service desk to do that price check, and the woman found a bar code under a sticker, but it wasn't coming up on sale. So I made the argument that since it is a Star Fighter, it should be 40% off. She gave me the discount! Whoo hoo! With the discount and before tax it was $24.99 if anyone else wants to give it a try.
-
Technically a B-wing is a large size ship and not a normal $20 small ship that the discount is suppost to apply to so you really shouldn't get the discount. I really don't think most places will go for that unless they just want to get rid of you. But heck if you can argue well enough you could get a large wing TIE for 40% off instead of $39.99. I wonder if they would give you the 40% off on a BMF. :o
-
I think that all these prices going up is going to come back and bite Hasbro and retail in the ass. >:(
I sure hope so - I have a feeling that's what killed the Titanium line and I have a feeling Hasbro wanted that line to fail for one reason or another after all these years.
**Also - the Speederbike BP had both Speeders facing each other in the ad, but mine (which is in storage) had both facing the same way.....IIRCC.

At at least one Target near me that has its basic figures at over nine dollars after tax, nothing is moving! I've seen the same exact figures sitting there for weeks, even from the animated line which is surprising. There are even 1st Day of Issue Ak-Revs and Yarnas in a few places. So I definitely wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro and retail (retail especially, and especially Target) eventually learn a lesson from this after sales drop, and eventually get a clue and lower the prices. Otherwise stuff just won't sell. I know I won't be buying much.

I really don't think most places will go for that unless they just want to get rid of you. But heck if you can argue well enough you could get a large wing TIE for 40% off instead of $39.99. I wonder if they would give you the 40% off on a BMF. :o
The ad was a bit ambigious in that while it said
"40% OFF ALL Star Wars Battle Packs & Starfighter Vehicles
Sale 14.99 ea."
it did state that "ALL Star Wars ... Starfighter Vehicles.." (TRU caps not mine) and since the B-Wing was labelled a fighter, it was reasonable to include it in the 40% off (from my perspective). You're right though. I think it did come down to the person at the counter. I was polite to her, my two year old was charming, so I think she was willing to make a reasonable exception to how the computer wanted to process the sale. I agree the intent of the sale was for the ships we consider in the "$20" line (TRU sells them for something like $22, right?). But i think the wording of the add was such that the woman could reasonably make an exception.
So the moral of my story is that if you want to bend Toy R Us' sale a bit, give it a try, just find the most Grandmotherly looking clerk, bring along a smiling toddler and give it a try. Otherwise if you work for Toys R Us or their lawyer, I didn't do this, it was a guy I know. ;)
-
Hmmmm....I wonder if this would work for the Lars Homestead; it is a battle pack (I think). How long does this sale last?
-
If you guys can get this to work on the B Wing or the Lars Homestead then more power to you, but when the ad says 40% off and then lists the price $14.99 to me that isn't ambigious. That means a specific original price which the B Wing and Lars HS are not.
-
Thru March 28th. I didn't try and scan the Lars set. Though I'm sure Phruby's (and TRU's) point still applies. That this is meant to be on items that would lower the price, after the 40% discount, to $14.99. Not sure if you have an older sibling that has a toddler or anything David, but maybe you have can borrow a puppy or something instead ;D
-
I'm going to maybe run to WM and see if I can find a Hoth set or two. Wouldn't mind more Hoth scouts...
I'm partially tempted to try it on the STAP set for the Clone Wars but the droids bite so it'd be a waste of cash I guess just for the STAPS.
-
B-wing was reduced to $29,99 I think, when I scanned it it doesn't say expiration day, just the starships & battlepacks wich where none but the Obi one till 28th.
-
I hit TRU and they only sign they had in the isle was 20% off Starfighters and BP's.
-
I don't recall if there was a sign or not, but the ad definitely said 40%, not 20%, off.
-
I hit up a local TRU yesterday and saw the 40% off Starfighters and Battle Packs sales sign as well but didn't end up buying anything.
-
I'm going to check TRU tomorrow, when I pass in the vicinity of one, because I wouldn't mind 40% off an Endor bunker BP (which I waited on). Wouldn't that make it about $13?
-

$14.99 plus tax.
-
This is probably old news, but the two Targets I stopped in tonight had regular figures marked down to $7.49.
-
I saw their "price cut" sign. Now it's just an arm and part of a leg! :)
-
I stopped by our local TRU yesterday to see if there was anything worth picking up as far as vehicles and battle packs with the sale, but they were entirely sold out. Apparently the sale worked, but $15 really is a nice deal on a number of those things.
-
Target's got a big hooplah going on right now.
Their Sunday ad simply lists the FU lightsaber and "select other SW toys" beign on sale, but when I stopped by my local Target today I'd say everything was on sale. Here's a brief rundown of my sighting:
-Basic figures... $6.99
-Evolutions sets... $15.99
-Vehicles $16.99
At least I think that was the prices I noticed. I bought a Reb Pilots V2 set but nothing else... The Ultmate Battlepacks were not on sale however, but I think everything else was to some extent or another, so it's worth it just for extra Rebel Pilots in my book. :) I know I saw battlepacks on sale and comic packs as well... NOt bad prices in this day and age, though my basic figure selection was unfortunately almost all Legends and Clone Wars figures. Not one good Legacy basic figure to buy. :(
-
All the sales happen when I'm caught up. :P
-
Don't know if it's nation wide or whatever but Target has all Legacy and Clone Wars figures on sale for $6.99 and all Comic Packs are $9.99 until 4/4. Didn't see anything else on sale. If this belongs somewhere else, sorry.
-
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that sale is nationwide. I checked our local Target yesterday, and they had nearly all the Star Wars stuff on some sort of price cut. Basic figs $6.99, comic packs $9.99, vehicles $17.99, battle packs $19.99 (I think), and the evolutions were on sale as well (can't quite remember the price, but I think it was in the $17-ish range as well. At our store, Galactic Heroes and the UBPs didn't seem to be on sale at all though.
-
Don't usually go here but i found myself in a k-mart today and saw that all basics were on sale for $4.99
-
They had a $4.99 deal not long ago advertised in the paper, and god that was nice to take around to WM at the time...
Thanks for the tip since I tend not to go in KM if I can avoid it too, and now there's some reasont o actually venture there. It's actually the only retailer close to my place with the nearest WM being 25 minutes away and 2 KM's within 15 minutes (one only 5)... I still avoid going to that place at all costs. :-\
-
I'm assuming this is an April Fools gag...
http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Star_Wars_Figures_HalfPrice_122131.asp
And it's a ****** one too since it will result in people driving all over town looking for something that doesn't exist.
-
It could be, but some WMs are weird like that. We had a Target here in MN that was selling TAC figs for $2.50 for about six months or so back in the day. That store got continually raped by a few of us.

I was thinking the same thing. The price tags and receipt are a nice touch though.

There was a Wal-Mart in Grapevine that had 30thAC figures marked at $3.00 even for about 5 or 6 months (basically from about wave 01 through wave 05). I bought so many Stormtroopers, Death Star Troopers, Honor Guards, Airborne Troopers, and Galactic Marines over the course of that time... It was awesome.
As for the Scum story, all I know is that they have an April Fools gag up there every single year and I don't see anything else that qualifies, so I've got to assume for now that this is it, and if it is, it's lame.
-
If it is, it's their all-time lamest...
The pricetags and receipt are a sure nice touch though if it is. ???
All I know is I'm not expecting anything but $7.50 figures at my WM as even if it is true, it's highly unlikely other stores will have the same deal. WM's discounts are so random it's not funny. Nothing worth worrying about since 99% of us wouldn't have that deal going for us anyway.
-
Why can't it be legit? It doesn't mean that any others are going to be following suit. We all know that.
-
I think that's real. There was one near the school I teach that did the same thing about a month ago, but all they had were some Yarnas and a few others.
-
It certainly could be real... I'm just looking for their annual gag and don't see anything else.
-
I'm not sure if they will end up having Legacy goodies, but check out the cool auctions going on over at Yakface:

Another FYI that the $5 Big K sale on all action figures is holding on for another week!
-
And it's advertised now... That means, Pricematchin' time! And if you're lucky, as I am, you can land some Wave 5 figures with it. :)
-
We don't have any K-Marts around here anymore, but I stopped in at TRU to check out their "2 for $11" deals yesterday. Not really much left there, unless I wanted to pick up a Yarna and Legends Plo Koon combination :). I noticed that all of the Force Unleashed 3 Packs I saw there on Saturday were sold out though. They had the B-Wings marked down to $30 - I have to admit I was somewhat tempted, but left them for now. Four Lars sets still at full price there, I was sort of hoping those would go on clearance eventually as well.
-

For anyone thinking about trying this - I had no luck getting TRU or Target to price match K-Mart's ad. I think Walmart still price matches for anyone that has easy access to one. :P
-
Yaeh, TRU never did and Target stopped it some years ago... WM pricematches anything with a marked sale price though if you have the ad... I've gotten them to do it with a receipt from another store too, but that's rare that it's worked.
-
I LOVE the sound of $5 figures; I'm going to pass by K-Mart but I don't have high hopes for my particular store.
-
Just noticed that my local Target raised the price of figs to $8.29. >:(
-
I used the pricematch again tonight and got another assassin droid and a Star Corps Clone Trooper for $5 at WM.
Also Target finally marked down UBP's so I figured I'd better jump on the Sarlacc now rather than waiting.
-
Went to TRU tonight and they had a 2 for $10.99 basic and clone wars figures sale going on. The catch is you HAVE to buy 2 to get the deal.
-
Target is running a "temporary price cut" on the Evolution sets - $18.52.
-
The store by my house also has Mighty Muggs on TPC for $9.82 and Ultimate Light Sabers on TPC for $I forget.
-
It's the Mighty Muggs that are on sale for $9.82 - the Evos are $18.62 something like that.
-

That's what I meant. Thanks for the catch. I probably would have had a lot of angry people running to KW.
-
Got an Imp. Evolutions set tonight since it was on sale. It aint' $15, but it'll do I guess. I am pondering how to make a taller Biggs, actually, since I hate how he's on the diminutive TIE Pilot body.
-
I'm tempted to get the second pilots set during the sale, but like you mentioned, Jesse, $15 would have been nicer. There's something about buying duplicates of what I already have that makes me a cheapskate.
-
I was tempted to pick up another Evolutions set with the recent price cut at Target, but for now - left them on the shelf. Of note though, there was a ton of sets there (stacked two high), it will be interesting to see how well they will sell. I never did get the "correct" Boba Fett with the emblem, but I don't know that I want to spend $19 for basically just that figure (already have two of the Jango, plus it is being single carded later this year). The Pilots sets are always tempting though too.
-
I never got the corrected Boba either. I kind of figured it would be re-released by itself or in another set at some point.
-
Jango's also coming in a two-pack with, possibly (hopefully) an updated accurate deco of his jumpsuit to match. I'm sort of surprised nothing was mentioned of the Boba figure getting a re-release ala Jango.
-
I don't know if this is old news or not but I found a Yavin Battlepack today at Target marked $25.49 (I could be off a few pennies, but it was $25 and change).
-
That price is a store specific price. Out of the 8 Targets in my immediate area, two have the BP's at $25. The rest are at $23. The prices have been that way for months.
-
Evolutions, SW Muggs, and ultimate lightsabers are 30% off at Target...ymmv
-
Evolutions, SW Muggs, and ultimate lightsabers are 30% off at Target...ymmv
Yup, I saw the same at a couple of Targets today.
-
My end too. Might pick up a few more items if them make it to lower clearance.
-
One of the Targets in MN has put the R/C Droids on clearance for 30% off. Might be worth looking into in your neck of the woods if you were waiting for them to be cheaper.

I noticed our local store has had these marked down the past couple weeks as well. I think they are sitting at around $11.88 or so for the moment. I have noticed that there hasn't been an R2 on the pegs since the first week of release though, but the others seem to be hanging fairly regularly.
-
Cool. I'm glad I waited on those.
-
Picked up 2 more AT-TEs this weekend for TRU's Christmas in July sale for $49.99 each. A far cry better than the original price. I'm glad I waited to pick up some extras.

2 more? Nice. Do you have plans for a display? If so, I'd love to see pics -- I'm a sucker for cool dioramas. :)

Yep, I sure do.
I'll be using two for my Geonosis diorama, 1 for Utapau, and the last for Felucia or Coruscant.
The dioramas I have planned for Geonosis and Utapau are huge. Each are at fully drawn up, I just need space/time/money to build them. Each are 8ft wide, 5ft tall and 4ft deep. These will rest on rolling cabinets that are 2.5ft tall (also of course being 8ft wide, and 4ft deep). On top of these will rest a lighting cabinet of the same width and depth as the dios/bottom cabinets. However they will only need be 12inches tall. I've got a materials list completed. As of now each cabinet itself not including the actual diorama to be enclosed in them will cost about $1200. Though that price will rise as I have to wait to purchase the materials to build them. The dioramas themselves won't cost as much as it's the toys that will take center stage. I'm estimating the cost of the dios to be around $400-600 each. Each diorama will have forced perspective applied to them. This means I'll be utilizing different sized figures in the foreground, midground and background to give the illusion of further depth than what is really there. Foreground will include 12inch figures, mid will include 3 3/4 figs and their ships and other toys of that scale. Background will incorporate the Unleashed minis, WOTC minis, and Titaniums. So these will be intensive in the amount of stuff in them.
The Geonosis diorama will be split with 3ft wide of it being for the arena, while the other 5ft wide being for the main ground battle.
The Utapau diorama will have scenes placed throughout that will relatively "read" left to right in an up and down zigzag pattern.
I'm a designer holding degrees in both industrial and graphic design. I got into design because of the movies, wanting to know exactly how they did the things they did. So I now (and have for years) know how to make scratch built models, miniature sets, lighting, stop motion, mechanical robotics and more. So you can be certain I'll be putting my all into those dioramas. I want them to be as close to museum quality as I can get.
Once I get to the build stage, you can bet I'll be posting pics. I got approval from LFL to create a website documenting these projects.
This has been a long time in planning and is moving along. For now though it remains at the completed drawing board stage as I just don't have the room to build anything of this size, nor the time to devote to them and for now the extra money, since I'm still actively collecting.

Not Legacy Collection related, but worth posting in this "discounts" thread -
I opened up some new CW figures tonight and, in addition to the Eopie/Qui-Gon redemption form in all 4 of the CW Wave 8 figures (CW20-CW23), the CW09 Commander Gree figure included a "$5 Clone Cash" certificate. The coupon is good for $5 off any $20 Hasbro Star Wars toy purchase.
I hope more of the figures will eventually come with the coupon!
-
Wow, no **** on that. I wish they'd do their rewards program aagain too. That was good incentive to buy stuff. I liked that last year.
Thanks for the tip Jeff, that's something to watch for. I just hope it's not all in CW3D figures as I barely buy any.
-
That's a nice score. Bummer that I still collect half my stuff carded - I could have multiple coupons in there and not even know it. :P
-
Thanks for the tip Jeff, that's something to watch for. I just hope it's not all in CW3D figures as I barely buy any.
Yeah, it's a nice surprise. I'm planning to use any I find on the upcoming Battle Packs. Taking $5 off a $23 BP will make it almost reasonable again. :P
-

I bet that it is seeing as how the cash has "The Clone Wars" written on it, but would be more than happy if they put Legacy Bucks in that line.
-
Target has Mighty Muggs and Evolutions sets on the clearance endcap for 50% off.

Jeff, what figure did you get yours in? I got a Yularren figure yesterday, and no clone cash inside. I was really hoping to get something since all I wanted was his holo table. I'm wondering if these are going to be very random/rare things.
-
I have 2x of all the Wave 6-8 CW figures - I've only found coupons in the two Grees and one of my Space Ahsokas. That said, the case I pulled Gree and Ahsoka from also had coupons in the 6 repack figures. When I've found other figs, the entire case is free of coupons. Could be totally random, but I think early production figures just didn't have them. I don't see why else a box would have 8 figs with coupons while others have nothing. As more of these cases show, I'm bettering we start seeing these on a much more regular basis.
-
Jeff, what figure did you get yours in?
CW09 Commander Gree, but he was from a Wave 8 box (as opposed to a Wave 6 box).
Everything I've read from people who are finding them are reporting finding them in figures from the Wave 8 boxes (the Cad Bane wave assortment), which would include these 12 figures so far:
CW02 Clone Trooper (with Space Gear)
CW03 Rocket Battle Droid
CW04 Clone Trooper (41st Elite Corps)
CW05 Kit Fisto
CW06 Mace Windu
CW09 Commander Gree
CW18 Anakin Skywalker [repack]
CW19 Obi-Wan Kenobi [repack]
CW20 Clone Trooper Denal
CW21 Anakin Skywalker (with Space Gear)
CW22 Cad Bane
CW23 Ahsoka Tano (with Space Gear)
Looks like they were added AFTER they started adding the Eopie slips, so some of the early stuff that is only in the Wave 6/7 boxes (like Yularen or Jawas or whatever) don't appear to have them yet.
-
My Stop and Shop just did a big redesign, and the toy isle is much bigger. Carded SW figures are 7.99, and they had the Rebublic Tank for 22.99. Not bad.
-
How noticable is the CW Cash coupon in the packaging? I'd like to pickup Yularen like most for the table, though the figure itself does have some alien customizing options as well, but would prefer to do so if I find one that has the coupon in it.
-
The coupon is very noticeable. If you see a folded slip with a small five on the corner, you have it. Everyone I found was easily seen.
-
I'm really mad at myself. I had planned to pick up a bunch of stands for half off at HTS, but didn't get around to it until this morning. The sale is off now. >:(

The remaining Evolutions sets are on clearance for $5 plus tax at some local Target stores. Three figures for $5? WHAT A DEAL! ;D
Head on over to your local Target and see what you find!

The Target ones does have them....however, the same figures at Walmart doesn't... So I guess the cupon doesn't apply to WM (hope I'm wrong), I thought to use it & get the Dark Trooper set cheaper :'( $80 bucks hurt

On the topic of "Clone Cash", from this week's JD Q&A with Hasbro:
We're glad you like the Clone Cash program. We inserted the Clone Cash into 200,000 Clone Wars basic figures this fall and that will be it for this year. We'll be watching the program to see how it does; it's possible we could expand it to more assortments next year depending on how it goes for this year (of course, it can always be used on Legacy and Saga Legends figures). Thanks!
Let's see... 200,000 coupons = $1,000,000.00 in savings :o
I wonder if Hasbro is hoping that a pile of those Clone Cash coupons stay trapped in the bubbles thanks to the carded collectors that are left out there... :P ;)
-
Let's see... 200,000 coupons = $1,000,000.00 in savings :o
Now if only I could get all of them - I'd be rich! ;) This reminds me of the $5 Target internet coupon that floated around a year or two back. I know there were fraud issues, but I think a lot of us that used them for toys end up buying more than they would have otherwise. I know I bought extra figs if I was below the coupon threshold just to get the $5 back.
I hope the program works well for Hasbro and they continue it. I broke down an bought a $100 Turbo Tank because I had a $5 coupon to burn, so hopefully it helps sell thru some bigger ticket items that would normally have sat longer.
That said, I'm a little concerned that the stacking option on these isn't going to drive as much incremental volume as they hope. Sure, you need to spend $20, but if you do, you can use three coupons (verified at Wal-Mart and Target), so you're potentially getting three figs for under $10. Assuming you can track down all of the CW figs you want and they all have coupons, you can get the last 2-3 waves for next to nothing using this program.
-
I finally saw one of these last night, but it was in a Rocket Battle Droid, which I really didn't need. Hopefully I'll find another one elsewhere (a Cad Bane figure would be perfect).
-
Yeah, 200,000 is actually not a lot so no wonder I've never seen one of these coupons, haha. I don't know anyone else locally who has either. I can just see these at shows with the coupon though, going for $30 because of the "rarity" or something.
-

I wonder how well these are being distributed across the country as at any given day, I can go to Target, WM or TRU and all of the CW figures (15-20+) have them.
-
From the LAME! department, some of the Target stores here in the Twin Cities seem to be jumping from $7.49 to $8.64 for the basic figures today/yesterday... I hope it's not widespread as Target was my best option for the new stuff usually. :-\
-
Well that's probably just Hasbro's excuse for the clone cash program. Gotta get their money back somewhere. ::)
-
That's just ******* ridiculous. After CA sales tax these will end up being close to $10 each. I can't possibly see what justifies such an insane price. >:(

I've yet to see them at Wally World and I haven't been to TRU in forever, but they're around at pretty much every Target. Too bad I can never find them on the figs I'm waiting to open (Yoda, $A-7, Jawas, ARF, Space Obi, Echo, etc.). Mostly I've just seen them on the repacks and the Cad Bane wave.
-
Target's having a great on-line sale - $10 off every order over $30, $20 over $60 and $30 over $90. Use this code: 4MMHDHBE and get another 10% off and free shipping. I just bought a Turbo Tank yesterday for $65 shipped.
-

Item is currently unavailable :-\.

I was going to order one to return it with my $99 receipt but decided not to. When does this sale end, it would be great to get a discount on the Y-wing, Arc and Wedge X-Wing.
-
When does this sale end
"Offer applies to purchases of $30 or more, $60 or more, $90 or more of select Hasbro toys based on merchandise subtotal. Merchandise subtotal based on one shipping destination per order. GiftCards, e-GiftCards, gift wrap, tax, or shipping and handling charges will not be included in determining merchandise subtotal and are not discountable. May not be combined with other promotional offers or discounts or applied to previous orders. Offer expires August 29, 2009."
The Turbo Tank has been going in and out of stock often over the last few days, so if you really want it, I'd suggest hitting Target.com a couple times a day watching for it to pop back up...
-
Thanks! I checked out the site and overall they do not have much core line stuff in stock. I actually would have bit on the ARC. But there is still time left so I will be keeping an eye out.
-
Really a nice deal on the Turbo Tank. It was in stock when I first read about this at GH the other day, but unfortunately it comes at a time when I don't have the money to spend on the big stuff. I'm still hoping for another deal on this down the road. I was patient on the AT-TE, so I'll wait it out on this one too. It isn't like I have anywhere for it to go besides the floor anyways ;).
-
Guess I'll post this here too..
Caught this on AP's 16 Bit...I had no clue.
Reports from over the web indicate that the Rite Aid drug store chain is getting Diamdond's overstock collector toys. For just $19.99, fans are finding Star Wars Ecliptic Evader TIE Fighters, Crimson Empire boxed sets, and G.I. Joe Extreme Conditions box sets. Happy hunting, your mileage may vary!
-
Not a Rite Aid within 200 miles.
-
Cool, I'll have to check out Rite-Aid. The only SW stuff I've ever seen at my Rite-Aid is a $13 POTF2 8D8 figure that's been on the shelves for years. ;D
-

Yeah, I think that's Rite-Aid's exclusive figure.
-
They're common here, 3 within 5 minutes of my gf's place I think, so time to stop into them I suppose.
-
Has this been reported ANYWHERE other than his site? Because I'm not seeing this anywhere else... Kind of a curious thing.
-
I'd like to back up Adam Pawlus' report on the Previews stuff at Rite-Aid... Since they're like fly **** here, I plan to hit many in the next day and see what's available.
So far though, I hit one at a backwater town that is in my county (had a scrimage tonight, so I was there anyway), and I scored a Previews Crimson Empire Crucible set. $19.99 + 6% sales tax. Not shabby, and I'm very, very glad I didn't pay full price for this POS, because it is indeed a POS. The 4 Power Rangers would be outstanding if they had better legs used than the Training Clone... A Palpatine and Vader are just basically fodder then.
If anyone's curious though, I think the heads of the POwer Rangers would fit on the SNowtrooper perfectly (whose head fits the Tycho A-Wing Pilot figure perfectly, in a completely unrelated turn of events).
Enjoy.
Oh, and I'll let you know if my tear through another 5 or 6 stores yields me anything in the next day or two. If I find a Rand Ecliptic TIE Fighter, I'm going to be giddy to get one for Biggs at a cheaper price.
-
Thanks for those head swap notes JJ, I needed another excuse to pick up an additional Crimson set. >:(
;D
-
I hit 3 Rite-Aids tonight, I'll get to two tomorrow I think.
Of the 3 I hit, nothing, except one had about 5 Crimson Empire sets...
Just for the curious, basic figure prices at Rite-Aid?
$11.50 abouts.
I really would love finding a Previews Rand Ecliptic TIE Fighter... alas, nothing thus far. Also no GI Joe stuff either.
I'll keep popping in as 2 are on my way to my girl's place anyhow. The others aren't terribly inconvenient to get to either. THere's at least 7 easily accessible to me, haha. Sad. Wal-Mart is a minimum 25 minute drive but I've got Rite-Aid like it's going out of style.
-
I stopped off at the local Rite-Aid and there were 7 PX Evaders (yes, that's right 7), 4 Crimson Empire sets, and 4 GI Joe sets (don't recall the name of the set). Each item was $19.99 plus tax. I picked up one of each of the SW sets.
-

:o Anyone at Rite-Aid Pricing Dept. still awake? $11.50 for a figure or $.50 more for an exclusive figure with a massive vehicle. Yeah, that makes sense.
-
I noticed in the TRU Sunday ad today that they have a two day (Sunday/Monday) Labor Day sale going on, and the Falcon ($80) and AT-TE ($50) are both on sale today and tomorrow. Pretty nice deals if you've been holding out. All these sales on the big vehicles from last year makes me think I could hold off on the Turbo Tank.
-
Oh man! I am SO tempted to pick up another AT-TE! I managed to avoid doing so last time, but $50 is just such a deal. :-\

I just found 2 Crimson Guards sets at Rite Aid. Originally, being a fan of the Crimson Empire comics, I was on board to buy a set. But I let it go because the figures looked short, they had the clone training legs, and the paint jobs were pretty bad. Plus the original price was like $40 or something. Then I found them for $20 an hour ago. After scrutinizing both sets, I still left them. Even for $20 I didn't want it.
I guess the bottom line is, it was a nice idea to make training royal guards, but the execution was poor.

Awesome sale! Wish I would have waited....especially on the $135 deal I got on the Falcon :-\
-
I am going to try and pick up an extra BMF tomorrow. If I am able to get one I plan on keeping it boxed since I already have one. I wanted to get an extra on clearance but missed out. $80 is a killer deal. I already have x2 AT-TE's s I am done with that although $50 is pretty sweet.

This doesn't apply to TLC stuff, but I've got a report that Saga Collection and 30th Anniversary Collection figures (basics and other stuff) have shown up at TJ Maxx stores. It's from a friend so I'm trusting it, but it may be an isolated incident. I'm going to pop into mine when I get time here this weekend and see what I can spy.
If you're near a TJ Maxx though, stop in and snap us a photo if you find something... May be worth a shot.
-
TJ Maxx... You should go!
God I hated those commercials...

Just an update, I did find 30AC and Saga figures (Jerjerrod only) at TJ Maxx tonight on a brief trip locally... So they're out, and only $3.99... Not bad for army building Stormtroopers, Sandtroopers, Rebel Guards, Death Star Troopers, custom fodder and so forth.

:P

???
Sorry Jediman, just edited my statement last night, too sleepy to re-post.
But yea, went to (TJ MAXX) found few Sand/Storm/rebel troopers & others, two diferent Tin displays, bought 7 stormtroopers... went to just one Aid Rite & found 3 packs of Power Ranger's Crimson Guards at $19.99, no sign of the Tie fighter yet.
Thanx for the news guys it really helped :)
-
Picked up a bunch of TAC Stormies at TJ Max for $3.99 a pop - not as good of a price we had here in MN when these were in full swing, but I'll take em. Might go back tomorrow and clean them out of Sandtroopers.
-
This morning I picked up an A-Wing Pilot, a Stormtrooper, a Sandtrooper, and Moff Jerjerod at TJ Maxx. It was nice to get four figures for less than $20! 8)
-
Found the same figs y'all found at TJMaxx today, but the paintjobs on the stormies and sandies were so bad that they were actually not buyable.
Some of the worst I've ever seen. It looks like whoever did them was blindfolded.
-
I picked up some TJ Maxx goodies too. Love that it's mostly imperials.
-
Cleaned out another TJ Maxx this morning out of Stormies. 8)

What we're here for man. :)
-
I wound up finding some more TJ Maxx figs. Hard to turn down $4 figures.
-
Grabbed a second comic pack of Luke and blond lady, disguised at Imperials for $5 at the local Wally. Figure they'll make good background Imperials anyway. Maybe I'll see if I can swap the heads....

hi Jess thanx :)
the problem is that I make alot of mistakes & I try to correct them by my self, so that way mods not get tire of me hehe!
BTW: I just need to clean one more TJmaxx at my area I wish I can find Celchu & the die cast are cool, but a pain to pay $10 for each.
-
I wound up finding some more TJ Maxx figs. Hard to turn down $4 figures.
Unless they have no purpose for custom fodder. :-[
I hit the local TJ Maxx last night and came across a couple 4-LOM's, Spirit Anakins, and Endor R2's, along with a few TSC Bespin Duel Vaders. All for $3.99, but here's the kicker they had a SAGA 02 Djas Puhr for $6.99! ???
-
That is weird.
I would've liked to find DST's and A-Wing pilots, but I found neither... I only hit two TJ Maxx stores. I gotta hit the store locator to see if more are in a semi-decent drive of me. I got Stormtroopers, Sandtroopers, a Yavin Guard... Not much else. Saw some Jerjerrods, and left Stormtoropers/Sandtroopers as well at both locations I visited, but only because I knew I had at least 50 of each at home just hanging out in storage bins... Why buy 2 more of each?
DST's, DSG's (though I've not heard anyone finding those), and Yavin Guards would've gotten me to buy all of them that I saw.
-
After watching Jedi again, I've been motivated to pick up more DST's, which is what I've been finding at TJ's. It seems all of the non-ranked tuniced officers have those silver boxes on their belts. I also picked up the only A-wing pilot I found as well because I noticed that the only guys who wore those types of helmets had gray outfits, so I'll customize it.

I will skip the new Legacies etc, till I finish the TJ-Maxx hunt, why buy 2 for amlost $20 when you can have 5 for $21 :)
I only found: 1x DST, 3x RHG, 1x RVT, 2x BS, and 4 Snd-T variants. & Storm-T with remov-helmets
I have some I have no opened in case i find others that I want & be exchanged at TJ Maxx.
really want to find some rebels from TAC line, Celchu, Zev, & other pilots, caucasic vanguard etc to complete the variants... maight have to travel further.
I left, some Vader variants, Naboo guard-red, C3po endor,R2-endor, Rhodian cantina, Han Bespin torture, dought i want it for its articulations, Jejerrod (most popular), Rebel Hoth leader McC???, & some can't remember.
bought :)..... a chance to have the electronic R2

Has anyone noticed if TJ Maxx is restocking? Or is this a once and done deal?
-
Not sure if this was reported or not but I found the Y-Wing Bomber at TRU and the SKU price is now $69.99. Maybe they got enough complaints and changed the price.
Target also has vehicles for $17.99 until 10/9. (That's a long sale.)
-

Pretty good, considering vehicles in these days are - what - $19-20?

TRU has the at $24.99 but they have them on sale for $19.99. I forgot to mention that earlier.
-
Vehicles are mostly $25 now. WM and TRU both... Target I thought was $21 or something? Or it varied depending on the area.
Anton, as far as TJ Maxx restocking, that's hit and miss... They sometimes do, sometimes not. They restocked a TON of the GI Joe 3-packs that were TRU exclusives, at least around me, however they never got more than one small shipment of Titanium figures in (they did get 3PO, Snowspeeder Luke, etc.). They're an overstock liquidator, so it's really just luck if they put more out I figure. Given the hodge-podge nature (IE: it didn't appear like sealed cases were what they got in), I'm guessing restock's unlikely. They seemed to get figures that were pulled from stores, or were possibly even KB Toys liquidation or something similar. I saw no evidence of cases being opened, just stuff pulled from stores.
-
Went last night for a trip to the east, one at 30 min trip...
Found:
Die Cast:
Snowspeeder
At-At Walker
Slave 1 Boba Fett
ARC-170 Starship
TAC:
2x Galactic Marine Clones
2x RHG
4x Sand-troops
2x Stom-remov-helmet
2x cantina -Rhodian (???/name)
3x Cantina creature (???/name)
1x vader
wen to another TJ a mile away & to my disapointment didn't had toys at all....
Today got my pay-chk so will travel more to the east 45 min or...
-
One of the younger male cashiers at TJ was chatting it up with me about the SW figs and told me when they get new stock in. Over the course of the week, and three shipping days, no sign of new SW figs.
-
Galactic Hunter is reporting $39.99 AT-TE's at ROSS... I have ROSS near me about as frequently as I have these other discount stores, so I'll hit them up and see what I find. One's right over the hill, so I'll pop in tonight.
-
Wow...These discount stores are really getting hit with a bunch of cheap SW stuff this year. Not that I have a Ross near me or need another AT-TE, $39.99 is a killer price for that beast.
Nice
-
For you Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/toysrus) members out there, TRU is running a special today where if you "become a friend" you get a coupon code for $5 off a $25+ purchase. The promo is valid today only.
-
Is ROSS part of the same company as Marshall's, TJ Maxx, etc. (I think AJ Wright and a couple others are under that same umbrella).
-
I don't know if they're under the same corporate umbrella or not, but I'm guessing no, as one strip mall near me has ROSS, TJ Maxx, and Marshall's all in the same strip... I'd think the competing with themselves wouldn't be beneficial really.
They're all 3 fairly common out here... I have 2 ROSS stores close by.
The nearest one had nothing at it by the way, so this may be a really sporadic thing. Tough to say, but stopping in isn't a huge issue so I'll keep checking.
-
In other news, and I"m wagering this is a fairly localized incident, my buddy in California reported he found Turbo Tanks for $50 at Wal-Mart.
Clearance without even getting the X-Mas shopping season started? Very odd.

grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! why!why!why!... that doesn't happen near me! >:( I want that Turbeeeeeaaaaauuu!
Also had not luck with the Evader Tie fighter... I hit 4 Rite Aid & need to go to few more, but am skeptical, that stuff only happen in California most of the time :P
only found cheap SW stuff at AJ Wright, but nice 12" inch Halo figure for $9.99.
And the nearest Ross is: 116 mi (about 2 hours 4 mins) ::)
-
I don't know if they're under the same corporate umbrella or not,
TJ Maxx and Marshalls (http://www.tjx.com/) definitely are. I've checked in at a few Marshalls, no sign of TAC figs yet.

Cleaned out another TJ Maxx out of Stormies. God I feel like a whore. :D
Marshalls around here have SW/Joe/TF stuff, but no TAC figs.

Are you sure about the SW LEGO sets Jeff ??? My circular said the sale excludes all SW sets - unless I need glasses.

Sorry for the confusion. It appears that the SW LEGO sale is on-line only (http://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=lego%20star%20wars&origkw=LEGO%20star%20wars&f=Taxonomy/TRUS/2254197&sr=1) and the SW LEGOs are not included in the sale at the stores.
-
Got three stormies, a Galactic Marine, a Sandtrooper, 4-LOM (never got him originally), a Rebel Vanguard Trooper and one of the larger scale Titanium Series M. Falcon (they also had Vader's TIE, Slave One and the Tri-Droid at various TJ Maxx and Marshall's for $9.99) over the weekend.

It looks like TRU has pulled the '3-for-2' SW LEGO sale from the website this AM (must have finally caught the error that allowed the sets to be on sale on-line). Hope folks were able to grab the deals while they could!

Don't like how Battle Packs are around $26 these days ... for four repacks? No way. As much as I loved the TLC/CW Jabba's Palace, Scramble on Yavin, and whatever that Hoth set was called (Hoth Patrol, I think?), I didn't get them. Missed out. :-X

9.99 shipping? I don't think I've ever ordered anything from them that was more than $10 shipping. :P

Guess I'm not getting that EASY-BAKE Sweet Delivery Club that I always wanted. :(
-
Weird, the email I got was SHIP499 for $4.99 shipping on any size order.
Typo Jeff?

I got a notice on flat $7.99 shipping on all orders, no codes necessary. Any # of items, $7.99.
This is odd now... 3 or 4 different things seemingly, haha.

Typo Jeff?

I got a $4.99 one.

Has anyone gotten clone cash from a basic legacy figure yet? Granted, I've only opened the TPM and Jedi waves, but I checked each figure from the cases and no sign of the coupon.
-
Has anyone gotten clone cash from a basic legacy figure yet? Granted, I've only opened the TPM and Jedi waves, but I checked each figure from the cases and no sign of the coupon.
Hasbro stated in a Q&A that Clone Cash was only in the Clone Wars figures. It makes some sense, as Legacy has the BAD parts and SL has the clone weapons. Clone Cash is the bonus exclusive to the Clone Wars line.
Now, to follow up your question with another question: Has anyone seen Clone Cash in any Clone Wars figures other than those in the Cad Bane wave? I've seen figures from earlier waves (Whorm Loathsome, Space Obi, ARF, etc.) and later waves (Luminara, Argyus) but they never have the coupons. This (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HS87638H) is the only wave that seems to include the coupons.
-
That is the only wave I have seen them at, AND I have only seen them in that wave at Target stores. Might just be my area, but I haven't run into any of those figs with coupons at Walmart or TRU.
-
JediJ, I think that's an area thing. I rarely see figures with Clone Cash at retailers outside of Wal-Mart, but I have seen a few at Target.

I got my clone cash figues at Target...but that was back in august. maybe it's over.
-
JediJ, I think that's an area thing. I rarely see figures with Clone Cash at retailers outside of Wal-Mart, but I have seen a few at Target.
Interesting. I'm sure it's just X number of cases of that CW wave and whichever retailer got 'em. Nice to hear that it's not just Target for those that don't have many bullseyes around.
-
Justin, the CW figures at TRU (in Minnetonka) had them too.
-
Justin, the CW figures at TRU (in Minnetonka) had them too.
Really? I looked a few times there, but must have missed them. We didn't see any at the Maplewood TRU earlier in the week. Were they also only in the Cad Bane wave?
-
Over the Clone Cash run, I think I saw them in about all of the first 23 figures in the CW line, minus a few character here or there. I think the Cad Bane wave was the last wave to include them.
-
I never saw one figure with Clone Cash in it, ever. Not one. I've only bought Admiral Yularren so I wouldn't have made a lot in clone cash anyway, so no biggie... But yeah, I never saw any Clone cash locally. Not sure about the other locals.
-
I picked up the Wal Mart evolutions sets for $7 each last night.
A nice price since I only wanted one of the figures in the 2 I bought.

Thanks Greg. I thought I had read differently. Oh, well.
In looking for clone cash, I did see some clone cash in some CW figures at Target. Kit Fisto for sure had it. A couple of others as well, but I can't remember who.
-
Hasbro stated they had 250K coupons out there and wanted to see how they did before they try it again. It was not a huge run but from the sounds of it anyone who got them used them so I think it's something we will see again.
-
Clairvoyant and frugal. There's a combo you don't see every day.

I probably bought about 10 CW figures since it started, and I got 2 clone cash coupons. For whatever it's worth they were stashed in Mace Windu and Commander Gree's package.
I'm pretty sure it's random though.
-
I realize that 99% of collectors won't care, but just in case that 1% that might, maybe a parent for their kid for Christmas, Target has the Clone Trooper Voice Changer Helmet that is normally $43 on sale for $20 (so $15 if you use clone cash).

Starwarsshop.com has officially lost their damn minds.
Figures are $14.99, oh but this month if you buy 3 you get a 4th free.
So let's see $45 for 4 figures, that's a sale price of $11.
No. Thanks.

But you get a free plastic case to put them in! ::)

I'm glad you posted this. I noticed that too via an adon Yakface and went to see what they had as the ad said they have (100's of figures in stock). Well no wonder there's so much left in stock. Those prices are just plain insulting - it actually makes me want to buy less product from Hasbro. :P

I've received a few "hostile" e-mails regarding the posting of that "sale" - mostly to the effect of how could I/we support the blatant gouging of collectors. Yes, the pricing sucks, but they are on par with many online retailers in terms of charging a premium for individual figures - especially the newest releases.
Would I pay what they're charging? No, but here in MN we have pretty good luck at finding merch. at retail. Others might not be as lucky.
-
I concur with Jayson, it's pretty competitive when you look around at what many etailers
rape :-X charge people for individual figures... It's convenience, I guess, of course, and it at least is a sale in relative speaking terms.
It's no $4 or $5 K-Mart sale, or B2G1 TRU sale or anything... :-\

Nice if true, but unfortunately I still have stores with 30AC stuff at $6.63 in their clearance aisle. All Juno Eclipse.
-
I've received a few "hostile" e-mails regarding the posting of that "sale" - mostly to the effect of how could I/we support the blatant gouging of collectors. Yes, the pricing sucks, but they are on par with many online retailers in terms of charging a premium for individual figures - especially the newest releases.
Would I pay what they're charging? No, but here in MN we have pretty good luck at finding merch. at retail. Others might not be as lucky.
Well, I hope I didn't come across as hostile. :-[ The prices don't work out that bad with the free figure included. I'm more bothered by the "everyday" price in conjucntion with a sale...I just find it insulting to mark up your product 100%, then pretend that you're offering consumers a "deal" by issuing a 4th figure for free.

Yeah, Walmart clearances are so store dependant that stuff like this usually doesn't translate well. Some places blew out the Droid Factory 2-packs already for $9 while other stores are still sitting on them for $17. No rhyme, no reason. ::)
-
Two stores locally have sets, one has no less than 5 Corran Horns (ironically), and all in clearance, and all at $17 a piece. :) One has full sets left too, I believe. Love those rollbacks! I want to shoot that smiley face guy in his smiling face.

Yep. This stuff should be common knowledge after all these years. I'm surprised any website would post info like that on the front page.
-
I'm ok with the news... A discount is a discount. Adding, "WM clearances vary greatly so your mileage may vary" is always a good idea I suppose, for those not in the know on stuff like this. The Scum crowd always has a handful excited at WM clearances I've noticed, haha. Then... the disappointment sets in.

TRU big book of toys posted, sale starts 11/1/09 - Star Wars on page 48 but nothing to write home about imo as I am still on the fence with the Turbo Tank
http://downloads.bfads.net/BFAds-ToysRUs-BigToysBook-2009.pdf

The Gunship is a decent price on that ad. I paid the $70 for it a couple weeks ago but I'm thinking I might run down to TRU and pick one up for $50 and return the other. Hell, pick up 2, use the $10 off $100 coupon and score two for about $98.

Yep, it was posted here (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=19304.msg449655#msg449655) since the sale is for CW items, not "Legacy". ;)

I got a note about $10 off $75 (most) purchases at Hasbro Toy Shop... Food for thought if you're behind the 8 ball like I am on a ton of crap.

Just got a call from my Wife, there was a commercial for a sale this weekend at Toys R Us (I think she said 8-1 Saturday and 3-9 Sunday), they said 50% off a number of toy brands including Star Wars. She didn't catch what they displayed, but thought I'd give a heads up to those with quicker eyes.

AT-TE 50% off (no surprise) and some SW LEGO sets (just a handful)
3-11pm Fri
8-1pm Sat

Thanks JES, like I said someone with quicker eyes (and ears apparently..)
-
No problem. I wish it was something more that we could all get excited about.
I can't wait until those AT-TE's ae gone already.
-
I might pick up a third AT-TE at that price.
-
Regarding the TRU sale, the LEGO sets are only 33% off (not 50).
33% off LEGO MagnaGuard Starfighter
33% off LEGO V-19 Torrent
-
Jeff's right I forgot to add that. Sorry if that confused anyone.

That's a decent sale on those items. Thanks for the heads-up.

Sucks that none of the newer sets are on sale...Still holding out for another BOGO I suppose. :-\

Of course adding the YMMV warning- one WalMart store here has finally decided to put blue Legacy figures on clearance for $5.
Which is a good thing being that maybe they might be able to start stocking current waves soon. Not a whole lot to choose from, but some decent fodder for now. Hoth Troopers, early CW wave Clones, etc.
If anyone needs or may want anything let me know. I can ship them loose in a mailer saving you some money. I will head there again tomorrow or Mon based on if people want anything.
-
Another TRU doorbuster sale this weekend. This time it's Galactic Heroes 2-packs, 2 for $9.99, and of course, the AT-TE once again for just $49.99 (50% off).
Sale runs today from 3pm-midnight and tomorrow from 7am-1pm.

Are there any current HTS codes?

SW2009 & SW2010

Thanks.

Anybody who hasn't been to toyrocket recently should go check them out. I was looking last night and figures are down to just $5 for recent waves! :o

I de-bookmarked them over the summer since their influx of new SW merch seemed to slow to a complete standstill. Good to know they are getting back in the flow~

I checked them out yesterday and couldn't find a single new carded Legacy figure.

I'd be careful on ordering from Toy Rocket as I hear they have or will be filing Chapter 11.

I'd be careful on ordering from Toy Rocket as I hear they have or will be filing Chapter 11.
That is definitely not what I was hoping to hear. >:( Where did you hear that?
-
It is all over the 'net (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=toyrocket+bankruptcy&aq=1&oq=toyrocket+&aqi=g6g-s1). Apparently it looks like they filed at the end of the summer... the sale seems to be to liquidate inventory to help them pull out. Buyer beware and all that.
-
Agreed Jeff.
I mean you could very well get your order, and I hope so man, but...
In many bankruptcy cases a company usually takes over inventory and moves that inventory to help clear the debts, but in this case who knows who is in control. Just keep an eye on things and I would contact your CC if the order or no word is from them TR soon.
-
I did some searching around and see some notices from August. That said, I found several posts of people that were ordering and getting stuff over the last month, so hopefully that's a good sign. :-\
*EDIT*
Just got an email from Toyrocket regarding the removal of their pre-order items from the site.
"Thank you for your inquiry. We took all pre-orders off the website because, due to the nature of our red tag sale, we will not be taking any further pre-orders."
They may be liquidating, but the fact that they do have some new stuff coming in makes me think it might just be a reorg under new management. I at least feel better that I got a response to my email!
-
Looks like Target has Battle Packs on price cut for $21.99 for now.
-
I ordered $150 in SW/GI Joe figures from toyrocket.com on the 7th. All items were listed as "in stock". I went to check on the status of my order since they were all in stock items and it hasn't shipped out yet, everything is listed as "in stock processing".
-
I ordered $75 worth of stuff, we'll see what happens. I used my CC so I can argue the charges should something occur, but I really hope the order goes through.
-
Follow up for those of you reading along with the Toyrocket drama:
Okay, so I got a notice from Toyrocket today saying that part of my order was backstocked. Despite all items being ordered as “In-Stock” they apparently oversold an item for $30. The CS person asked if I wanted to add $30 of other merchandise or wait for the backordered item to replenish (estimated time 7-10 days). Their policy is to ship what’s in stock, then send an additional shipment with backordered product at no additional shipping charge. Fair Enough.
So, I promptly responded that I would be fine waiting for my backordered item and that they should please move forward with the rest of my order ASAP. I ordered almost a week ago now and it’s still “processing.”
A few hours later, I receive a note stating that the backordered item was CANCELLED. WTF. The email says some pre-order/backorder items were mistakenly included in their red tag sale, but my initial order shows that the item was listed as In-Stock. Whatever. To add insult to injury, they also promptly refunded me $29.87 (I paid exactly $30 in my order), so apparently I have to pay a $.13 fee for their error. WTF. (Thirteen cents on Friday the 13th – that’s creepy). They had a flat ship rate deal as well, so now the ship cost per item in my order has technically increased.
THEN I get a message stating that they were overwhelmed with orders and my (remaining) products will likely take ANOTHER 3-5 days to ship. Seriously.
As Lando said, “This deal is getting worse all the time!” Starting to wonder which, if any, of my items I will actually see and when. Hopefully this is the only glitch I’ll encounter. Anyone else seeing movement on their stuff?
-
Okay then - don't order from Toy Rocket, gotchy'all.
-
Okay then - don't order from Toy Rocket, gotchy'all.
Well, not sure if I'd go that far yet. I got my shipping notice today - apparently all the rest of my stuff is in transit. We'll see what happens when it shows up...
-
Okay then - don't order from Toy Rocket, gotchy'all.
That's pretty much my policy.
-
My order has shipped but I'm not sure if anything maybe didn't. We'll see when it gets here via UPS which almost always takes a hair longer for me for some reason (distribution center's close, so no clue why that is).
I'll update and see what came and what got axed.

Message from toyrocket.com
Thank you for your recent order from Toyrocket.com. As you know we are running a Red Tag sale with items at 50-90% off. The response to this sale has been overwhelming with tousands of orders flooding in, including yours. This email is to notify you that your order has been received and processed but that we are experiencing delays in shipping as quickly as usual. It will likely be 3-5 days until your order can ship. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you again for shopping with Toyrocket.com.The Toyrocket Team
I ordered on the 7th, so still waiting....
Anyway, incase any of you live by a Meijer, in their Black Friday ad they are going to have SW figs for $5.50

For those that avoid K-Mart, they've got Legacy and CW BPs on sale for $19.99 this week. Probably why a few folks reported finding some new BPs there later last week.
Also the GH Cinema Scenes and the K-Mart 4-pack of Clone Troopers & Obi-Wan are also $19.99 each.
-
I wonder if they'll adjust the price for me? I just bought that set, and would kind of like my $5 back.
-
About this toyrocket thing. It sounds to me that they're having carrier issues. I worked for a company that used a similar line about shipping late and it was because we couldn't get any carrier to pick up until we paid them in full first. At one time we had carriers who wouldn't pick up even if we did pay them or were paid up because they knew we were going under. Of course it is possible they're just overwhelmed with orders and are understaffed to ship but if that was the case they'd still need to pull the order and the wording of their email implies the order has been pulled.

Jeff's on the money. I got the Endor and Felatio- err Felucian set at KMart today. This was not anywhere near home as I'm still away for business. $20 is a much easier pill to swallow. Also scored the ANH at the same store.
-
I got a bunch of battlepacks tonight at KM. They loaded up on new ones, and $19.99? Hell yeah, I'm in.
I got my Endor 2.0 price-adjusted as well (for those of you who got one last week, you have SEVEN days from date of purchase to get a price adjustment at K-Mart).
I also got a Felucia Gelagrub like Jim, and I'm taking my other back to TRU where I originally bought it.
I also got the Rishi Moon pack, and I got 2 Gunship Turret packs which I will now return my previous purchase at Wal-Mart of those... $5 is $5, and if KM's selling them for $19.99 then they can have my money and the other stores can piss off. Especially on that Felucia pack which I agree is totally not $25 worth of toy. A roto-cast slug with few individual parts, and a retooled Clone. Meh.
Basically I stocked up though on battlepacks and feel good. Left Endor 2.0 on the shelf too.
And, like you also did Jim, I got ANH wave too... I did the math quick in my head and figured you'd save $10-ish I think if you bought them on Hasbro Toy Shop, plus HTS lacks Chewbacca and the Scanner Tech at this point. I got the whole wave for like $79 after tax... I'll live with that though $8.99/figure hurt BAD. :(
Another painful night financially, but other than extras for customizing and army builders I want, I'm actually caught up. I'm almost in shock.
I honestly don't mind K-Mart... They run significant sales more often than most other retailers on this stuff, and I've gotten a lot of $4.99 figures there, and now $19.99 battlepacks. KM's ok by me. I just wish their basics were $1 less. I'd stop there routinely on toy runs then.
-
As the front page reads, Target 2-packs on sale 11/22... Check out the front page for the details but if you've waited on those maybe now is a good time to pick them up.
Of course as always things change and stuff, but this one seems a pretty safe bet. ;)
-
found a CW AT-TE walker for $49.99 at AJ wright
but didn't no bought it cuz I had to make sure it was the re-issued one, when checked mine (the box ass # 87629/87603) it was the same of the store, the one with bad legs, so I pass.
-
All of my Toyrocket stuff is in transit (has been for a few days now), but today I got a notice saying my items are still processing, which may take an another 5-7 days. Hunh? Hope that was just a general notice to everyone that ordered during the sale.
-
Over on Scum there was a post that K-Mart was going to have a buy one, get one sale on SW starting on 11/22. Anyone here have any more info on that?
I hadn't stopped at my K-Mart in a couple of months but stopped in last night and found that I missed the ROTJ wave, they had 3 repacks left with the B-a-D parts for that wave. I was slightly pissed. They had a fresh new load of Saga Legends though, as did every other store in town. I'm so happy I could kill a puppy.
No BPs at K-Mart but I'll probably keep an eye on them this week.
Thanks for the info on the Target 2-packs. I'll probalby pick up the Trebor/Fett pack, it'll be worth it at that price for Trebor. Already bought the two new Jedi sets and Trebor was the only other I was interested in.

KM's got everything lately... ROTJ, TPM, ANH, ROTS... I've seen a smattering of it all there, plus new battlepacks. They're the only store at this point actually putting tons of new stuff out. All at higher prices, but sales make up for that at this point.
-
News of the Target Geonosis sale pleases me... I got a $5 off any toy purchase of $25 or more coupon when I got the Clone Wars DVD a few weeks back. Might use that to pick up 3 sets at a lower price and be done with them.

You're right on that, Jesse. I stopped in K-Mart again tonight to check for BPs and found a couple ANH figures from the ROTS line, just three of them, though. Not sure where they came from and can't believe they sold the rest of the figs since Monday night...unless someone pulled them from the back specifically.
Still, fingers crossed.

The question is, it the BOGO for figures only, or for all SW Hasbro items?
-
OK...
So I got my Toy Rocket box today and not everything is hunky dory...
6 of the 7 DST's I ordered didn't ship (everything else did I believe, I still need to compare to the receipt though), and I was charged for the 6 that did not ship. However, they caught that and gave me store credit ($11.90) for the charge for the stuff I didn't get, which I don't want.
I called and the guy that answered was nice and said he'd put the store credit back on my card. No major issues thus far. I'll compare that with my card's info in a day or two then and see if the charge for things I didn't get is still there or credited back to my account as it should be.
I'm not mad as I figured something I ordered may not ship, but the overcharge and store credit were sort of annoying. Just a little though and it should be sorted out.
-
lucky, my toyrocket order from back on the 7th is still "in stock processing"... I am gonna email them again in a little bit.

wm.com has the Octuptarra down to $28 with free site to store shipping - I am gettin close to pulling the trigger on getting one of these now.

TRU (http://toysrus.shoplocal.com/ToysRus/default.aspx?action=entryflash) has released this week's Door Buster Deals and this friday (11/20) from 3pm to midnight and on Saturday (11/21) from 7am to 1pm they are offering 2 Star Wars figures for $11.99.

Nice. I was contemplating heading down to Elmira, NY on either Friday night or Saturday morning to do some hunting as that's the closest TRU to me. This may make up my mind for me.
I also see that all Star Wars video game accessories are 20% off also. Those are all day Friday and Saturday.

I emailed them early this afternoon and I just checked now and I haven't heard back from them yet. I know, I shouldn't panic and give them time to respond. However, when I call and I try to contact them and no one picks up and it goes to their answering machine, then tells me to leave a message, but I cannot because the answering machine is full - that gives me a little reasoning to be concerned... :o

Well, I have received multiple notices saying that they got way more orders in than expected and that there would be delays of 5-7 days. I was getting these even after my shipment was sent out, so I assume they've gone to everyone who ordered including yourself. Sending an email and getting a response same day is relatively rare in my experience. Even big retailers like Target often say they will get back to you in 24-48 hours.
I’m just a sample of one, but outside of the item that they removed from my order, everything went smoothly with my order. I got a well packed box of all the items I ordered and everything was in very good shape, so I would order from them again.
-
I ended up going to Elmira last night and stopping at TRU, Kohls, Target and WM.
TRU had a huge ****load of SL and CW and not a single TLC figure mixed in with the 100+ figures on the pegs. I did buy a CW Commando Droid and ARF Trooper, both of which I had been putting off at $8 a piece.
Kohls was also running a sale on figures. Normally $10 they were marked to $8.99 and had door buster promo of some sort for another 20% off to make them $7.19. They had the new ROTS wave on the pegs, which I had on order from HTS anyway. But I snagged a secon IG-88 and the Ewoks. I had a $10 coupon that I got from Kohls about a week ago...walked out with both figures for a total of $4.73.
So I ended up with 4 figures for a total of $17.68.
Now it's looking like the KMart sale is on for tomorrow; Buy one, get one free. Unfortunately, my store found ANOTER case of Saga Legends over night. Six TLC figures, but they're all carry forward repacks, nothing new that I don't have. Still, it'll be worth a stop in the morning I guess.

I believe you're both right. The assortment was the bonus clone with AT-RT, bonus wookie warrior with BARC Speeder, and the Wookie copter, since I got all three at the same place. The Copter did not have a bonus figure though. I think I still have a spare set of the bonus figure packs or at least one of them.
Wasn't Kohl's also the hot spot for a few basic figure runs? I remember there was a Palpatine variation from ROTS that I tracked down there and some of the harder to find figures like Black Suited Clone Pilot. They were also a hot spot for the TAC (wave 5?) EU figures (Revan, Malek, etc.). Every once in a while they're worth checking into...

The KM sale was a great success for me today.
-
Kmart was a complete waste of time for me. Neither of the two in my area would honor the sale. They have different weekly adds. >:(
-
I was able to get my KMart to give me a rain check for the battle packs at the $20 price. They might have gotten some in for the start of the sale on Sunday, but by Monday morning (the first day I checked) they were out of them entirely - and that didn't change all week.
So here's hoping that they get in some more Red/White packaged new sets soon...
Of course, last week, I was able to score 2 complete sets of the Padme/Matchstick CW wave at KMarts and now they're doing the BOGO sale, so I'm going to swing by there and see if they'll adjust my receipt. I doubt they'll do it, but it's worth a try...
-
I got my receipts adjusted here in town and they were from when I was away on business at a KMart I found where I was staying. You have 7 days to have an adjustment done. It's on the back of the receipt so give them hell if they say different and you are in the 7 day period.

KMart's BOGO has been the best deal this whole year.
Even at $8.99 a figure it brings figure cost to $4.50 ea. Can not beat that and they have had a better selection than WalMarts here. So far for the BOGO I had a receipt adjusted and got $38 and change back. I gave it back to Big K, but got a slew of figures.
New CW wave (Padme/Matchstick/etc), ROTJ, and some mixed ROTS/ANH waves. Also just picked up some additionals that I would've never grabbed at $9 or $8 but at $4.50... yes!
-
JES's summary is pretty much the same as mine... I've now scored the entire ANH wave at KM for $4.50 a figure, so I'm not griping on them. They had a lot of random stuff too... Good army builders from the Legends line I'd like for that price, ROTJ and ROTS smatterings, some repacks from the new waves I wanted (extra AOTC Obi, AOTC Padme, etc.). Even the uber fantastic VOTC Chewbacca which I gladly bought another of for that price and a footlocker of gear.
Add this to the battlepacks last week and I'm ecstatic to say the least. This is the only place I've even seen ANH wave... Like I said before, KM is doing something with distribution that WM and Target are not locally... TRU's doing ok though, getting at least some new stuff in.
Same with spotting lots of new CW figures. My local KM now only has a couple Yarna's, a couple Legends figures, and lots of CW stuff still (no army builders but I saw the new Padme and other stuff still hanging around. I should've bought an ARF Trooper yesterday). I got my 2nd ROTJ Leia and that was at a place already hit by another collector I think. I got another Scanning tech, extra Ewok set I'd wanted, extra Ugnaught (first one) an Imp. Engineer... That's just some random stuff I got really, but I cleaned up pretty well.
On the issue of Toy Rocket, I called them and got someone immediately, and it was 7-ish pm my time that day... I had no problem really with getting through to them and they were real fast to say they'd take care of the issue. I need to check that with my card and make sure it was handled, but so far I'm content.
-
Echoing JES's comments - I took my two receipts from picking up the Padme/Matchstick CW wave last week at two different KMarts, to my local KMart and the woman at customer service had no problem adjusting my receipts so I ended up with getting four figures for $4.50 each on the first receipt and then on the second receipt where I had only seven figures, she let me go back to the action figure aisle, grab another CW Tank Gunner figure (that I wanted anyway) and allowed me to bring the number of figs up to an even eight and I got all of them for $4.50 each.
November has already been an expensive month for me, so for there to be this price-break in the middle of it was a welcome change.
-
I agree... This didn't break me, but October and November both each had massive hits to the wallet for me, and I really felt sort of hosed financially for a time because it was so much at once. I really dislike that aspect of the distribution issues.
It really affects how I view the possibility of buying a 2nd of some figures because I think of the $175 or whatever I just plunked down, and how that only caught me up by maybe 50%! Then the other 50% comes and you're in the same boat. The KM sale was a saving grace. And I swear, since 2005, I've had at least one moment each year that I went nuts at KM during a sale... And before '05 I'd say there were probably similar moments with going nuts to get Legos on sale there.
Knock KM all you want, and I agree their figures are expensive. I'd make them a routine stop though if they sold $7.99 figures. Even $8.50 would probably garner more attention from me. And these sales are a godsend. But KM is a big player here still... The Northeast seems to be their holding ground for competition. Other states seem to have a WM every 5 minutes, but I can attest that isn't the case here at all, so a store like KM holds its ground ok. Plus not all KM's look like hell here either, that helps.
-
The Northeast is a weird universe when it comes to retail outlets.
For example, there are no Targets anywhere in the state of Vermont. How crazy is that?
-
I looked back a page or so and didn't see this so I thought I'd mention it. I noticed today that the K-Mart BOGO sale ends tomorrow, the 25th. So if you haven't stopped yet or want one more shot at something cheap, better stop soon.

May stop on my way to work... Never knwo if another case got put out or not.
-
My local Walgreens (which ONLY sells TCW figures) sells Star Wars Hasbro figures at $11.49, excluding tax. :'( I swear, you'll almost regret buying a figure here, even if it's a super-rare one. I almost passed up a lone Cad Bane (good thing I didn't)! :o
-
Noticed Target today raised the price of figures to $8.26 in honor of black friday. Comic packs are up to $14.98.
-
Nice... ::)
I haven't been to Target lately so I'll have to check that out locally.
-
I was in Target for about 2 seconds on Friday and didn't notice the prices, or today at my local store (I was out of town on Friday for the holiday).
I did find an excellent deal at the Supercenter Walmart in Vestal, NY on Friday, though. Three of their exclusives were 50% off and I got the following:
Imperial Pilots: $12
Dewback: $15
AT-ST: $22
Used the Hasbro coupon and bought all three for just under $48, including tax.
None of the stores I stopped in had new TLC figures, Comic packs, BPs or Titanium. The WM and TRU stores I was in didn't have a single TLC figure between them and Target only had a couple Stormtrooper card TLC stuff. Wed night they had a lone Malakili but I didn't see anything else Friday so I'm assuming they had nothing new.

Wow, that's a nice score E! Half price Dewbacks and AT-STs? Sweet find.

Didja guys hear some Walmarts are bumpin' down the Droid Factory set prices to an even $8.00?
Whoaah!

Hey all quick report. On the way back home from some family visiting stopped at a WalMart for some drinks and of course scanned toy dept. Found BOGO packs of blue Legacy carded figures. Unlike the last BOGO sets WalMart offered for the Saga line (where figures really weren't a true BOGO) these were $7.46 for two figures.
No plastic wrapped. Just a Legacy Collection sticker with two figures back to back. A good deal for parents for XMas (or holidays whatever they may be).
I saw Stass w/ Grievous, Stass w/ FX-6, Stass w/ Commander Faie, FX-6 w/ Commander Faie, and Commander Faie w/ Grievous combos.

Interesting find. Not sure that I'd get any of these even at that price, but would be cool to see this "bundle" pack all the same. Maybe a bundle pack of comic pack figures isn't such an outrageous suggestion after all...

Sigh...Saw that this morning and here I thought I got a good deal for $130 back in the day. Great price for the noobs and parents though! :)

Just thought I would post here, again, if anyone is following/cares about how my toyrocket.com order is going. Remember - I ordered on the 11/7/09:
On 11/24/09 I called and spoke with a representative at toyrocket.com - the same guy I have spoke with before. He claimed to me that my order was sent out on 11/24/09 (2.5 weeks after I made the order) and that I "will" receive a confirmation/tracking number later that day. He also stated to me that I should receive everything by this Thursday (12/3/09). To this day I still have not received a confirmation/tracking #.
I called my credit card company (Wells Fargo) yesterday to see what my window of dispute time frame is with them on this. They told me 6 months from the purchase date so I am going to let this ride a while longer.
I did however take another step letting them know how unhappy I was with their service by firing off another email to them. I did let them know that I was very unhappy with their service, unhappy they charged me without being prepared to ship what I ordered, unhappy that this has taken so long to ship instock items even when their website states clearly that all orders for instock items are shipped within 3 days, and also very unhappy with this giant run around and laundry list of broken promises they have made me (5 more days, 2 more days, etc etc). Bottom line - I told them this was the worst online transaction I have ever made - and I have made my fair share of orders online -big and small online dealers alike.
I told them I would be reporting to the collecting communities that I belonged to about my bad experience with them, and, if I don't receive my order soon I will be filing with my credit card company and the BBB.
-
Sorry to hear that your order is taking so long, but I think you’re really over-reacting on this. Here’s the timeline I gather from your posts:
11/7 – Order placed. That’s a Saturday, so nothing probably happened with it until the 9th.
11/9 – Sometime this week they sent us all notices that they were overwhelmed with orders and that processing would be an extra 5-7 days. I think normal processing time of 1-2 days is probably typical, so factor in another 8 working days on your order.
11/18 - This is about when your order probably should have shipped. My notice from them said something about how they are consolidating items from multiple locations. Not sure what you ordered, but maybe that drove more delay.
11/24 – Your items supposedly ship. If they really did, that’s only 4 work days past their earlier estimate.
11/26 – Thanksgiving, so this will back things up at least a day or two
12/03 – Your estimated delivery date is 6 days shipping, which seems about right
Yeah, I get that it’s almost a month since you ordered, but when you look on a daily basis like this I don’t think they’re really that delinquent on your order. For comparison’s sake, take a look at your Eopie and Qui-Gon from Hasbro.
- When did you send that order in?
- When was your check cashed?
- When did you receive it?
I’m willing to bet that you waited considerably longer for this than your Toyrocket order, but haven’t heard any complaints about it. Hasbro cashed my $7 checks a solid 2-3 months before I saw anything in the mail.
Anyway, I’m not in the business of defending ToyRocket, but your posts about them and communication back to their CS are pretty harsh. If I hadn’t read other posts with concerns about them going bankrupt, I wouldn’t have even noticed the slight delay in shipping my stuff out.
-
No, I get what you are saying. But bottom line, based on what I am used to from other sites (EE and HTS), dealing with toyrocket has not been my cup of tea. Seriously not sending out items that were in stock until 2.5 weeks (supposedly) after they charged me? getting close to 1 month later til I (hopefully) receive it - sure there was 1 holiday in there I get that.
I understand your comparison with the Eopie, but to me that is a completely different animal based on what we as collectors are told. Heck, even on the slip you fill out to get a mail away it tells you it is going to be a long time before you get it. Toyrocket promises 3 days. Honestly I could care less about their 3 day guarantee, but I think once I passed the 2 week point of waiting I think it is ok for me to start to get aggitated.
And since you bring up the bankrupcy that is another valid point to be concerned with. If they go belly up I doubt my CC company would even be able to challenge them and get my money back. And finally - still no tracking info? come on.
and for kicks, I just tried calling again and guess what, no one picked up and their mailbox was full. Each time I call either someone will pick up (cool) or no one does and the mailbox is full. And I draw some speculative conclusions on a company thats answering service is seemingly always full.
-
As an independent, unbiased observer of this discussion, and having worked for an online mailorder distributuon company, I have to say that it cetainly does sound like a valid complaint to me.
"Overwhelmed with orders" and an extra 5-7 days for processing is a pretty weak excuse, IMO. How can you NOT anticipate increased traffic at this time of year? If you don't have the resources to fulfill the basic customer service promises displayed on the website, that is a real problem.
The problem as I see it, as that a lot of these places simply aren't reputable businesses. Any dork with Java skills living in his parents' basement can throw together a professional looking webpage. But knowing how to actually run an e-commerce site and provide customer service is something else entirely. I suspect most of these places are doing it on the cheap, cutting corners wherever they can, and it shows. And who knows what kind of business acumen these people have anyway?
-
Well, the current speculation was that the company was going under and is not being run by a third party to gut the inventory. If that’s true, I’m still hardly surprised that they’re overwhelmed with response to their half price sale. The email said the received thousands more orders than expected – that’s a lot of processing and shipping no matter who is taking care of things behind the scenes. Sorry that you feel wronged in having to wait, but given the circumstances and the great prices, I still think you should cut them some slack.
-
Not meaning to turn this into a Toyrocket.com thread, but I think people need to know.
Just got off the phone with "Rodrigo" again - he is the guy who answers the phone there. It took many (20+) calls to finally get through to someone, and yes, the answering machine is still full (not by messages from me ;) ). I explained all of my aggrivation - he understood. I asked him when he thought I might get my order and he started to speculate since "it looks like that since it was sent out some time on last Friday", wait a second Redrigo I have to stop you last there. When I spoke to you last week you told me it shipped out on Tuesday, the 22nd (it looks like I wrote the 24th in this thread earlier but I must have mistyped, it should have been the 22nd - the 24th was Thanksgiving).
So he was baffled. He was also not certain why I didn't have a tracking number (he didn't have one either). He said he would check with USPS to see what is going on there and contact me tomorrow - we'll see. He also confided in me that they are just now shipping orders that were made on 11/10/09, so he is certain that mine would have shipped already (yet he has no proof by tracking number and cant even say with certainty when it shipped), and as you can see, they are still very far behind.
I asked him point blank if they are legit- he said yes (of course). I have ordered from them in the past (TAC R2/D2-3PO) and didn't have any issues with them. He apologized when I explained as I have here already all of the things I was not happy with in their business and he also said that if I do not receive my items by the end of the week he would issue me a full refund - thats fine I guess but I did order from them for a reason - I liked the prices and the product, I wanted the deal. He said if I do receive the items I could send them back after i was refunded - that just baffles me and shows me once again they don't know what the heck is going on.
-

You're not crazy, I think you're just mixing up Nov/Dec dates. In Dec, the 22nd is a Tuesday, but back in November, the 24th was a Tuesday (Thanksgiving was the 26th). ;)
-
ah yes, I was looking at the wrong calendar :P it was on the 24th then. thanks!

Not sure whether this is a nationwide trend or not, but one of my local Wal Marts had all Star Wars figures marked down to $6.00. They had the newest waves all in a large aisle display.
-
Saw the $6 price today in the Ithaca, NY Walmart also. Scored the ESB wave so it was a good day.
E...
-
We had the $6 basic figure price at our local WM today as well. No luck on the ESB wave, but I was able to snag a couple of CW figures I was missing. I hope that $6 price sticks around for awhile, although that isn't real likely post-Christmas I'm guessing.
-
Hilarious in an unfunny way - toyrocket.com just sent me my UPS tracking number. According to UPS, it was billed to UPS... wait for it... today. So much for them shipping it out back on 11/24/09 like toyrocket.com told me.
so hopefully now it will actually ship out tomorrow 12/4/09 - just a week and a half lie on their part - no big deal...
I will be happy as hell when this actually gets to me - I got a great deal. I just wish I would have been told by them in advance that it would take 1 month or more to get fulfilled and not all the pushbacks/lies.
-
$6 at WM? That's nice. I'll stock up on some army builders at that price if I've got the extra moolah... I know I've cut back since figures went up to $6.99, and then the jump to $7.49-$7.99 really took me out of buying extras like before.
At $6 I'd probably stock up on Clones and whatnot I otherwise would never have considered prior. There's also some fodder I may nab now at the lower price.
-
I gotta say - what a great time for WM to start a sale - the day the ESB wave hits!!!
-
Problem is, I can't get anyone to honor internet coupons.
-
The local WM changed over to the $6 pricing on figures. The peg warmers are more prominent now, so may be the figures are moving a little better. I hoping to see some of the value 2-packs to show up to catch up on quite a few figures.
-
Problem is, I can't get anyone to honor internet coupons.
I was able to use the $5 off $20 at Walmart with no problems last night.
-
Target gave me problems, but eventually a manager was called in, and they honored it.
Also, get this. I mentioned this in my most recent purchase, but, the scanning trooper's UPC hasn't been tagged for the WM $6 sale in my area. Every other figure, Basic, Legends and CW, is ringing as $6 except for this one. It took some convincing to explain that the sale can't exclude one specific figure when I tried to buy a few.
-
There's been a special sale on the mid-sized vehicle line. They're off by $4 now - they went from $21.?? to $17.??. Pretty good, IMO. :) I think it's part of a holiday sale.
-
If you're talking about Target, yes, they're in this week's ad.
There's also a big sale on Lego at Target. Most of the SW sets are about 10% off but a couple, like the Separtist Shuttle is over $10 off.
E...
-
5% also goes to the Salvation Army on Target's $17.99 assualt vehicle sale - at least at my Target has signage stating so.
-
Tomorrow's Toys R Us add has the Rebel Evolutions set (the one with Janson) for $10.89. Its only that one set listed though.

Last time I was at TRU they had a slew of older sets as well (TFU, Rebel Pilots, etc.). Might be worth stopping in if they're all on deal at that price!

No, they were pretty specific that it was that one set.

Wow, that is a nice deal, but I still can't bring myself to buy it.
-
A couple sales this week...
-Toys R Us is running a Buy 2 Figures for $9.99 deal. Not bad plus they're getting lots of new stuff lately I guess, so that's cool.
-K-Mart is running a Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal again, which is great if they're getting new stuff, which last check mine were restocking after their last sale. Kudos to them for actually going after people to spend something in their stores.
I doubt I get to a TRU for their sale, perhaps if I have some time a night this week, but I definitely plan on hitting KM locally.
-
I took advantage of the TRU sale and bought some Legends Sandtroopers.
-
Was at AJ Wright (I think its in the same corporation as TJ Maxx, etc.) and they had some of the 30AC figures for $3.99. Similar assortment to what Marshalls had a few months ago (Sandtrooper, Galactic Marine, Death Star Trooper, R2-D2 w/ sound, 4-LOM, Gen. McQuarrie, etc.) if any one is interested in some army builders.
-
K-Mart is still putting out new cases, as I found tonight. THey were pretty dry on cases all week during this sale but tonight 2 fresh cases of ROTJ wave revisions out on the pegs, so I picked up both Major Panno's and another Ewok pack.
They had Leia, Luke, variant Uggies, and everyone else. Not one fig sold yet, so I had my pick and enjoyed that.
They were down to about 9 figures total (mostly CW and Legends) and tonight got a big boost.
-
Are figs on sale at Kmart right now or just Walmart and TRU?
-
Was at Walmart last night and figures were back up to $7.46. They only have Saga Legends, so maybe the price hike was to solidify that line's status as pegwarmers :P
K-Mart should still be running their buy two star wars items, get one free (equal or lesser value), through this weekend.
-
Yakface reported today that the following are half off at WM from 12/26 until 2/4...
Clone Turbo Tank: $49.98 (reg $99.97)
Evolutions: $12.48 (reg $24.96)
Octuptarra Droid: $17.00 (reg $35.00)
Under the Helmet 2-Packs: $6.49 (reg $12.97)
I can confirm these, as I was at a WM earlier and scored the Evolution sets for half off. Scanned the $35 droid and it rang up as half off. Didn't try the Turbo Tank or the 2 packs. Sadly the AT-ST and Dewback are not on sale.
-
Actually I think Jay found the Octodroid for $12.50 later on in the day. Have at thee Christmas sales!
-

Sorry Justin, I actually got it for $12.50 by using a $5 Hasbro coupon, the reg sale price was indeed $17.50.
-
I got the Evo sets for half off, but they were already out of Commandoes (bummer, as I wanted the Imperial guy). I did get Imperials and Rebels though, and that's AOK by me.
I didn't see Octuparra's and all the other stuff. AT-ST's were still full price, as were Droid Factory 2-packs. AT-ST's are what I'd like to find half off though right now, just to army build that behemoth beast.
-
Got the Imperial and Rebel Pilot sets for $12 each yesterday. Two for the price of one is a good deal with these 8)

Hmm!, I managed to print two with my same computer, would I be able to use two of the same cupons with same bar code? (1st timer) :-\
-
Actually the each coupon is different. Look at the barcode underneath the Expiration date - each coupon has a different 4 digit number so you are good to go.
-
Did the Dewback go on sale as well? I'd not checked it, but now that I think about it I sort of wish I had. I'd like another of the Trooper just as a regular Stormie, and a half-off Dewback isn't a bad thing to have either.

The Dewback was full price here in Raleigh. I must've made three or four trips to WM since Friday, since I kept forgetting to check prices on certain toys. D'oh!
-
Thanks Greg. Yeah I checked one tonight while shopping and it was still full price as are all AT-St's I see. I did notice my nearest WM is down to only 4 AT-ST's while the one I was at tonight was stacked with them at the old clearance toy aisle.
I got a half-priced Octuparra though, and that's nice.
-
Jay dont know how u managed to print those cupons in D' 10 stations, just asked my wife to try at her job, but she said it wont accept the print soft that u need to install first...
I wonder if public libraries will work, or better ask:
is there other web, that has it ( cupons) and you dont need to install anything?
if not I will try to change my IP adress, a couple of times, the web allow u 2 cupond per IP.
-
Public libraries won't work because you wont be able to download and install the coupon/printer software. These coupon are proprietary to that site and aren't available elsewhere.
In the end, I ended up with about 40 of these coupons from all the stations (Mac) that I have access to at work and home.

Well I will try with the IP change then, let u all know if it works :)

It's not Legacy, and it's definitely sad to say given the trend of other stores marking down items left and right, but while at TRU yesterday, I noticed that they have actually raised the price of the Clone Wars deluxe figure/vehicle packs to 19.99. I guess they're preparing to charge a premium for those "new" STAP/Speeder Bike exclusives by charging even more for their wall of Anakin/Can-cells. ::)
-
I just printed a coupon for the first time, and I don't know if this has been asked, but can it be used on Legacy as well? Not just Clone Wars?
-
Yes.
-
Just an update since this is sort of a sale...
I'm seeing more and more of the "BOGO" 2-packs that are slapped together, and not just at Wal-Mart now. I'm seeing them also at Target, and including Legends and newer Legacy figures.
Color me surprised at that.
-
I've been hunting these twofers at Targets in Western Washington, happy to finally have a chance to catch up on things. What's strange is that I've seen reports from around the country of things like the ROTJ wave being found like this, but at six or so Targets out here, I've mostly found the TPM wave with a bit of ANH every so often. I wonder if the distribution of these is a bit uneven from region to region, and if that's the case, I may have to start begging you guys out east to help me out with the ROTJ wave, because this deal is fantastic. Figures I've never seen on the pegs, all for half price? Count me in!
-
I've not seen TPM wave at all, but I've only been to one Target, and Target was the only place to have red-carded Legacy figures in it. WM a month ago had blue-carded Legacy in it, but only ROTS/Repaint wave stuff for the most part, with maybe an ESB here and there but nothing of interest (I hoped to find Hoth Rebels, but no luck).

I haven't seen any of these two packs yet, but man, I'd like to buy them. I'm roughly halfway done with the ROTJ and ANH waves, seen maybe half of the ROTS wave and no whiff of the ESB wave yet. I'd like to at least finish up the ROTJ and ANH waves for half off.
-
I found some of the 2-packs at Target on Thursday night. There was a mix of figures from the TPM, ANH and ROTJ waves, including the repacked figures like the Jango Fett and Evo Padme, all figs that shipped with one of those three waves. I picked up an Imperial Scanning Tech packed with Deviss. It would have been cool to find some more army builders packed together but I think Hasbro is probably smart enough not to do that.
One thing of note is that those three waves would be the ones that Hasbro hinted at as being the ones they skipped over in order to get the last few waves to retail. That seems to be the case here because Target hadn't had the TPM before this and only one or two of the ANH cases hit. However, we also haven't had the ESB or ROTS waves at this store yet either. But we've had 5 cases of 2008 W4R2 since Ocotober. And yes, for those keeping track, that's one more than the last time I posted about them, we had another case hit the pegs on Christmas Eve. Yay, Hasbro...

LOL...EPIC FAIL.

I saw that coming a mile away.
edit: now it is "coming soon - the all new toyrocket" ::)
Anyway - I went to coupons.com to nab more coupons and they were gone! :'( Is it like this for others?

Get 3 FREE Saga Legends figures (http://www.hasbro.com/starwars/en_US/discover/3-Free-Action-Figures.cfm) when you purchase select Hasbro Star Wars role play items by March 20th.
Here's a link to the Redeption Form (http://www.hasbro.com/starwars/en_US/discover/Star-Wars-Redemption-Form.pdf).
-
That's interesting...
I think my local WM could sell every helmet in stock and not move 50% of the Legends figures they have though. :)
-
seeing this thread made me click on the toyrocket.com link to see if they got their **** together and opened a new site. Now "toyrocket.com" redirects you to puzzlezoo.com
The site looks the same and has basically the same layout as the old - only difference I can tell at a quick glance is there is a new purple background and icon for the company.
The decent news - they have the ESB and the EU wave on preorder. each figure looks to cost $9.99
I won't beat a dead horse here - but if anyone is willing to give them a whirl I would just like to tell them upfront - buyer beware.
-
Anyone have a current coupon code for HasbroToyShop? I can't get any of the old ones to work. :P

How many Legends figures did they freakin' make? The same few figures have been shipping for well over a year. I wonder if folks will wind up with some of the blue carded figs that are sitting. I also wonder if they will dump some of the Legacy figs (blue cards) that are likely somewhere.

Puzzle Zoo is a pretty crummy company with complete A-holes for owners. They have brick and mortar stores here in LA and I can tell you first hand that they deal in stolen movie props.

???
All the walmart super stores in my area are stocked up on these bad boys. All of them have been in the clearence isles for a month, still ringing up full price. :-\
-
Dewbacks and AT-STs have been going on clearance all over the USA for weeks now...
Unfortunately, Walmart doesn't have a national clearance like Target will do, so it is really up to the individual store to decide when to get rid of them and for how much. Jut have to wait for your store to decide they are sick of them hanging around...
-
I don't really know if this counts as a clearence or not. I saw a whole bunch of new 2 packs at Wal-Mart today. They were the ROTJ and ANH waves together along with some other recent red carded figures. Some were pretty good combos really. Luke Jedi/Leia Slave, Chewy Pilot/Han Death Star, Devis/Scanning Crew Member, Jawa and droid with Cantina woman, Giran/Ewoks 2 pack, Nikto Gunner/variant Ugnaught, Padme/Saurin, SBD/Grievous, and some others I can't remember although Nien Numb and Dreslian Commando were among them as well.
-
Interesting that these are showing up at both Target and WM. Forgot to mention in the store reports that I saw Legends 2-packs at the WM in Sun City, Arizona this weekend. Nothing worth getting though.
-
Ya I saw two Luke Jedi/Leia Slave packs at Target this evening and was tempted to buy one, but decided against it. Very nice pairing though - compared to some of the others.

Yeah I will definitely post when they go because I know a few people were looking for them here.

Mikey - if you see that again can you grab it for me? I have that pairing, but the card's all bent up. I would love to get a better carded version if you come across them again. Thanks!

Toys R Us has the Rebel Pilots I Evolutions set on sale for 50% off this week in their ad, and other Evolutions sets are also 50% off on ToysRUs.com (http://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=029787&origkw=029787&sr=1&camp=SHOPLOCAL:TRU:ToysRus1/31:4:029787:ToysRus-100131). I'm not sure if you can get the 50% off at stores on other sets they may still have, but it's worth a shot.
Also a lot of people are finding TIE Fighters and other goodies at Target for deep, deep discounts. I found some remaining Geonosis 2-packs but not much.

IFett found the Target Exclusive BP sets for $7 and Exclusive TIEs for $11. Very nice discounts!
I might bite on some of the 50% TRU Evo sets - anyone know of a coupon code for TRU?

IFett found the Target Evo sets for $7 and Exclusive TIEs for $11. Very nice discounts!
do you mean the Target CW bp's? edit: just saw in the RA section, you mean the BP's
I was at the Target by me on the south side of town (South Bend, Indiana) and they had literally a mountain of Tie's sitting at full price in an aisle that used to be for all the other clearance toys. They also, again literally, had a mountain of the GI Joe Snow Job then and now sets at full price, and about 16 GI Joe Rhino's at 25% off.
I grabbed one of the Rhino's, but I am sure I will be seeing one if not all of the above purchased at a low low price in my future.

Sorry, fixed it. I was thinking Exclusive Battle Packs and that somehow came out as EVO. ::)

Our local store almost fooled me as they had both the AT-STs and Dewbacks in the clearance aisle, with red tags, but they were still full price. I hate when they do that. I already have two of each, and don't necessarily need more, but if I saw a nice deal (like 50% off or more) I'd probably consider it.

And they have stick out flag style price tag on the shelf that declares in big bold letters that the item is 'NOW: (the regular price)' and the smaller 'Reduced From:' is always blank. I'm always tempted to find a pen and write the regular price in that blank spot to show other people what a "deal" they are getting.
"But Mom its on clearance! It's zero dollars less than it was before!"
-
I asked about that and one of the supervisors told me that they do it intentionally to make people think they're on clearance. >:(

I asked about that and one of the supervisors told me that they do it intentionally to make people think they're on clearance. >:(
Yeah, its a giant trick by Walmart, and the sad thing is, it sometimes works on people who have no clue.
-
Funny, that reminds me of the old KB Toys pricing strategy. They put price stickers on toys saying $9.99, then use a red pen to cross it out and mark $7.99. It was still a buck or two higher than Wal-Mart or Target pricing, but unfamiliar shippers thought they were getting a great deal. ::)
-
They could always use TRU's "clearance" pricing stategy by increasing both the original price and the "clearance" price.
-
TRU.com has marked their basic figs down to $6.99 online. Doesn't indicate any kind of "sale" price, so I'm wondering if their retail stores have lower pricing now as well. Apparently they also have the BOGO packs, though it's a mixed bag of what you will get.
-
I saw a whole endcap of AT-ST's at Wal-Mart last night at a new price of $49.96

TZ3046N473 - $5 off any HTS purchase. Expires on 02/28 for anyone who may be interested.
-
One of the two Walmarts I stopped at this am had fairly fully stocked pegs of figures, with flags marking them at $6 each. Might be worth your time to stop in.
-
WM pricing generally varies, but it'd make sense that they're starting now nationwide trying to clear out the tons of figures (mostly Legends here) they've got to get rid of before August. And I do believe it'd take till August and steeper discounts to get rid of these, haha.
My local WM has 2 separate Star Wars sections at this point. One dedicated to all 3 lines jumbled together in a mess, and 1 that is a complete endcap of pegs with nothing but Legends.

thanks to Jediknutt over at RS.com - $5 off your purchase of $20 or more on page 3

there is an Iron Man 2 coupon in there too. Both expire 4/15/10
you can print 2 of each per computer

Thanks! Nice to see those coupons return...
-
yeah - coupled with the current TRU sale for Iron Man 2 figs (off SW topic sorry) of 2 for $10.99 - if you buy 4 figs at that price and use the coupon you are getting figures for $4.25 each!
-
Glad to hear these are back. I was planning on 2 Iron Man figs at TRU with their BOGO sale, but looks like I'll try 4 now with the coupon. Now if I can just find some SW stuff to buy out there. :-\

Joker Squad for $16.99? That's the word I'm hearing (along with Cobra Island 7-packs for the Joe fans). Found at ROSS Dress for Less. I'm going to hit the local one tomorrow and see what I find. I could use 1 or 2 more of the Joker Squad sets for cheap.
-
Joker squad isn't a bad deal. Helps to polish off a few more squads for cheep.

EE had them down to that price a few months back as well. That's a great set of troopers for under $20.
-
Didn't see it mentioned anywhere, but Target has knocked down the price of basic figs to $6.99. Not as good a deal as WM's $6, but it's something.
-
Nothing at my local ROSS store tonight, just FYI. Maybe others will have better luck.
-
I'm VERY displeased I have no Wal-marts near me. :( I keep hearing about that $6-a-figure deal.
-
Thought I would post here that I ended up purchasing my son a Clone Commander Blaster. The Target I went to had them tagged for the price of the regular blasters so they honored that price for me. I didn't even have to say anything, they just said go up to the register and we will give it to you for that price and as I walked up to the register they called up front.
Anyway, since it was over $20 I was able to use a $5 off coupon too.
And finally, to the point of my post, I just mailed away for my 3 free Saga Legends figures since I purchased this blaster. So I ended up paying like $16-18 for the blaster, and now I get 3 free figures on top of that - awesome.
Though I am going to post my prediction now of the figures I am going to get: Saese, Plo, and... Saese! I will update when they arrive :P

New HasbroToyShop Promo Code: Enter "Easter20" to save 20% on your order until April 4, 2010.
Thank you for the notice.
If only they would drop their prices to $6-7 a pop like TRU, WM and Target more people would bite. Outside of the selection advantage the coupon levels the price to the new "normal" price.
-
Not many great army builders on there. I was hoping for Hoth Rebels but those appear to have sold out.
-
Does anyone have an Entertainment Earth Source Code I can use? Puh puh puh please?
-
just found this = "eefb0210"
I just used it to order the exclusive comic set and those 3 new metal mini posters for all 3 of the original trilogy movies. the code should be $10 off an order of $40 or more. this also works for preorders. :)
-
Thanks to smash for the tip on the $10 off. Given my shipping was $25, that was helpful.
-
Evolutions Sets are 50% off again at TRU tomorrow and Sat. for their 2-Day Easter Sale.
-
all SW figures on sale at TRU 2 for $10.99
also, at Meijer this week vehicles are on sale for $14
-
Get thee out and army build. :)
TRU's a hike for me no matter what way I go, so if I get to one it'll be probably too late in the week for any great finds, but that's a cool sale regardless. Wish I had one close enough I could just pop in for a looksee, but such is life around here.
-
I went to TRU this weekend and all they had were some CW figures with a few Sae See's sprinkled in. At least this clears the pegs there. What was sad the store was picked over in general. I noticed how low there inventory across the board, especially on Hasbro figure lines. This is usually a solid TRU too, I never seen it this low on stock. A real sign of the times.....
-
In the past TRU has had problems with old, stagnant stock on the shelves, floating around the store and in and out of the back room. And their clearance pricing hasn't always been as efficient or aggressive as a store like Target. So, in a slow time of year in general for toy buying, I could argue that maybe TRU is in a good position if they're a little light on stock.
Especially if that means they'll get a good dose of the SW exclusives they have coming up. These exclusives aren't like their normal stuff so it's going to definitely drive some traffic their way. If they can capitalize on it, good for them.
The last wave of comic packs and a couple of Battle Packs are all that's really shipping right now anyway as far as SW goes.
E...

So, in a slow time of year in general for toy buying, I could argue that maybe TRU is in a good position if they're a little light on stock.
No argument here, I agree. TRU is actually performing much better as they are finally adapting to the Tagets and WM's.
It's just sad and a sign of the times. I know firsthand how retailers are carrying lighter stock on toys. WM is downsizing their entire section.
-
Hit two different TRU stores on Sunday, one was low on figures (zero Legacy, about 25 Legends of the two Jedi nobody wants more of, and about a dozen CW figures), the other about 10 miles away was stocked to the max - I'd say 100 each of Legends and CW, and about 50 Legacy from the ESB wave... bought four Legacy figures for the good sale price.
-
I was very pleased to find that a Target I visited had a sale for $6.99 on Basic Figures, which lasts thru April 3rd. I dunno if this sale applies to every Target store, because I visited another nearby Target, but Basic Figures there were full-price.
-
Should apply to all the Target stores. Never hurts to scan because they do forget to adjust the shelf tags.
-
It looks like prices may be dropping to $6.99 on HTS. There are some "coming soon" figures in the back of the Legacy section priced at $6.99.
edit: actually there are some in stock at this price too.
-
Good possible news there...
I can't speak for everyone, but even Legends **** is moving out at WM near me at $6.00... Not EVERYTHING, but the army builders are long gone here for the most part save for ROTS white Clones. I can't find a Sandtrooper to save my life for that price. And I'm gobbling up Legacy army builders at $6.
Gungans here I come! May hit a good 40 of those things.
$6.99 figures, I'll probably be more likely to pick some things up then, that I otherwise would not have... $6.00 is better of course. :)
-
I can't speak for outside my area either as I've not traveled in the past month, but I've got a lot of Wal-Marts and Targets in my neck of the woods, and what I am seeing is a considerable slowdown of product moving. I'm seeing the exact same mixture/ratio of figures at most stores that have been there for a couple months... even at the $6.00 price at Wal-Mart and $6.04 price at Target... and it's mostly Clone Wars and Legends with a few Legacy sprinkled in (mostly leftovers from the ESB wave).
However, my Wal-Marts have been getting in a lot of GI JOE ROC figures lately, and seem to be rotating product rather frequently. That $5.00 price is nice.
-
Too bad the EU wave or TFU packs haven't made it to retail yet because iirc they $5 off coupon if you spend $20 or more on SW stuff from playsaver.com expires today.
If you have any of these coupons, and there was something you may have been debating grabbing, you may want to head out today and hunt for it to potentially save a little $$$

Yep - already done it. ;D
Still hoping that I might find something new that I want/need on the way home from work tonight.
-
I guess someone else was on the same page as me locally because by the time I got off work the stuff I intended to grab (extras) was all gone. Oh well.
-
It looks like TRU is attempting to capitalize on the exclusive status of the EU wave. I've seen prices on TLC basic figures jump up at TRU to $7.49 each.
-
I'm just glad this wave isn't $10+ a pop. I can handle $7.49 if they did indeed raise the price.
-
That's been the Legacy price (or more) so I'm not really surprised. If it holds I'm not overly angry either, but $6.99 or less is nice when you find it, and I think it'd help spur sales more than it's given credit for.
-

I'd hardly call an extra $.50 capitalizing. ;)
-
I got a TRU coupon for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more in the mail today. I'm not sure if it's a nationwide deal, but it will be great to use with all of the exclusives currently trickling out.
-
I got one today as well. I've no clue if this is due to my Rewards card, but just in time. 8)

Attention to all - be on the look out for $6.24 + tax figures at Target! The price drop may apply to certain stores, but this began a smidgen before Easter when it began as a temporary sale until April 3rd. I returned to a local Target April 19th, and was surprised that the "SALE" signs had been removed, and the price tags read $6.24 - prices dropped from $8 to $6.24!
-
HTS is running a "Spring Sale" and there are a few SW things in it. Go to HTS's homepage for the link to see what is included in the sale.

They've been at $6.04 at all the STL area Targets since early April. I figured that $6.04 was the new national pricepoint and had been for a couple weeks... guess not.
-
My local Targets have been at $6.04 since early April as well.
The Twin Cities does have some "premium" Target stores though. Those "premium" stores are always on a higher pricing system than the majority of Target stores, so I guess it's those Targets in that "premium" designation that have the $6.24 price.
-
I was sincerely surprised that my finds made it to the Jedi Defender home page!! But yes, I have scored Basic Figures at the $6.24 price point... interesting to hear that some Target stores have them for $6.04.
-
They've been $6.99-ish here, and are (last time I was there over the weekend) $6.64. I haven't bought a figure at Target because of that, and they've got some Scanner Techs I'd buy if I found them for less, but given that I've been finding 2 new Scanner Tech's at WM every time I pop in for $6, I figured why give Target my money when they wouldn't budge their price, ya know?
I'm hopeful they're dropping price to at least your sighting Jabba... $6.04 would be much nicer though.
-
Forgot to post this earlier, but this weekend my local Wal-Marts (which are clogged with Dewbacks and AT-STs) finally started to put them on clearance. Dewbacks are $20 and AT-STs $30.
-
Not bad Diddly... If you're interested in helping some of those AT-ST's and Dewbacks go, LMK. :)
-
Interesting. Wonder how many other WM's still have those. Wonder if Ross will get another round.

Yes, it would be nice for further price drops. I'm staying hopeful that figures/product will go on sale before the turn of TVC... by then stores will be looking for a way to sell everything. And Target these days has been upping their prices. :(
-
That seems to vary by where you live... My Target, it never really went too much below $6.99... Others seemed to see better prices for a while though, so that's subjective.
I'm sure some places will drop prices lower to clear out Legacy stuff. Sometimes retailers do that at the urging of the manufacturer saying, "Hey, this new stuff's coming and will sell full price", and all that... But I'm not so sure they're going to drop soon, or when there's desirable stuff on the pegs. $6, to me, is pretty decent so I'm buying now anything "extra" I may want. It's not a lot, but I find stuff here and there like Gungans or Scanner Techs...
I think I could wait on Plo Koons and Obi-Wans though. :) The rest might be a crapshoot though, if it's still there when prices may (or may not) go lower.
-
TRU has buy one get one 50% off on Star Wars this week. Haven't been to the brick n mortar store yet, but online they have the Biker Scout and Battle Droid deluxe sets available using this deal. Also CW Firefighter Droid and Obi-Wan, though these don't ring up for the sale for some reason.
-
Interesting. Wonder how many other WM's still have those. Wonder if Ross will get another round.
I usually frequent about 5 different Wal-Marts in the Central Texas area (three when I go home to Austin and two when I'm at school in College Station) and all three are clogged with AT-STs. Only a couple of Dewbacks, but enough to keep newer Battle Packs off the shelves. I've only been to one Wal-Mart so I don't know if the clearances are happening everywhere, but I think maybe me and Paul might have been the only people in Texas to buy AT-STs now that Rob is gone.
Not bad Diddly... If you're interested in helping some of those AT-ST's and Dewbacks go, LMK. :)
If I had the cash I'd definitely snag a few for people who want extras. I'll check back in about 2 weeks when finals are over and get back to you. ;)
-
TRU does do price adjustments. I bought all of my EU/TFU stuff last week and brought my receipts in yesterday.
-
Action figure prices @ Target are indeed $6.64. I wonder if this is a pre-clearance sale, and wouldn't be surprised if prices dropped even more before TVC finally hits. The same happened in 2006/2007 with the TSC before TAC hit out.

$6.04 here too still. Wish there was something that I wanted to buy, but all I see are Legends and Clone Wars, and the occasional ESB wave figure.
-
Looks like SWS.com has a 20% off sale on all in stock items - today only. Discount applied at final step of checkout.
-
TRU is having a crazy SW sale earlier today and tomorrow - if you haven't heard yet. I bought some figures and, due in part to the BOGO deal, and from what I hear another deal for $2.50 off each figure for two days only, at the registers the first figure you purchase will ring up for $4.99, the second $1.24!
What is happening is the computer is taking the $2.50 off the first figure, then half off the second figure, then an additional $2.50 off the second figure.
This could just be a glitch in the system, and it could be fixed by tomorrow morning, but I got 8 figures today (I bet you can guess 7 of them) for $26 and change after tax.
I am guessing who ever put this sale in the system may not have a job come Monday - especially if this is not fixed by morning, after the hordes of collectors come in and "wipe them out - all of them!"
-
I found W13 and got that same discount today. What a riot - $4.99 per figure is great, but $1.24 per second figure is insane!
-
I couldn't believe the glitch. Got my previous purchases price adjusted.
-
I was hoping to score big today at my TRU, but no dice on W13. All they have is pegwarmers.
-
Lots of stuff getting cleared out at Hasbro Toy Shop. $4.99 Legacy and CW3D figures, Comic and Battlepacks knocked down in price, some vehicles for $20...
Plus SW2010 gets you an extra 10% off to ease the shipping pretty much.
Worth stocking up. I picked up a number of army builders, an Endor Battlepack and a Vulture Droid.
-
heh - and I placed an order last night for a few extra things that I never got and they go and put them on sale for $2 cheaper - nice...
Maybe I can call in tomorrow and get a price adjustment :P it would be $5 in savings...
-
I'm in the same boat - I ordered five battle packs at $24.99 - 10% on the 3rd and now on the 4th (the day my order shipped) they prices were dropped down to $19.99 each.
I called them up using the toll-free number that was at the bottom of my shipping notification (1-800-408-0052) and asked them if they did price adjustments since the price was adjusted the exact day my item shipped.
The customer service rep I was speaking to said he would put it in the system for an "escalation" for an adjustment to take place so on all of the battle packs I would be paying $19.99 - 10% (approx $18) as opposed to $22.49.
I wouldn't hesitate on doing this shmash, you never know how long the sale is going to last.
If I get a confirmation of price adjustment (i.e. my request works), I'll update this post to let everyone know that HTS does indeed do price adjustments...
-
thanks Pete.
Seriously, I wish Hasbro had a pile of loot system similar to bbts.
Had this sale been going on the day prior I probably would have bought some battle packs too. I wish I could add to my order but I guess I can understand why.
I guess what is bogus is the fact that I made my purchase the day prior because of the "spring cleaning sale" or whatever it was - then the next day they put some of the very same figures involved in the sale the day before cheaper in a non advertised sale - if that makes sense.
IE sandstorm Han at $5.99, now at $4.99
-
I'm going to have to partake in the HTS sale. Good deal.
-
Yeah, this actually prompted me to make my first ever order from HTS. Both the TCW BattlePacks I needed were on sale for $19.99. With shipping, tax, minus the promo code SW2010 discount, together they came to $46.15 total. That's at least a couple of bucks cheaper than I would have paid at Target or TRU, you know, if they were to ever actually stock those around here.
Heck, I may go back and pick up a couple of figures for openers, then I'm totally and completely done for the summer.
-
Well, it took a bit more doing than I would have liked, but I finally got HTS to give me the refund of $22.50 off of my order for five battlepacks.
I had used the SW2010 code when I ordered and initially all they wanted to give me was $12.00 back - I had to call them up a second time and teach them how to do simple math.
Once they figured out that I was right they issued me the full credit.
So at least it is confirmation that they will do price adjustments.
-
Looks like walmart is trying to compete with TRU. Figures are now $4.50 at two of my local ones.
-
Per the front page:
The Expanded Universe wave sightings have been rampant, and even on sale, but those sales end soon. The wave keeps reappearing at stores which were cleared out just the day before though, so don't give up hope for finding a deal. They just showed locally for me even!
Jesse, where are you getting information that the sale ends soon? Everything I've seen on stickers and when scanning Legacy figures indicates the sale is good for amost two more months - ending on July 3. And CW figures are supposed to be on sale through July 17...
Can you please tell me what I'm I missing here? Thanks!
-
yar - the scanners at TRU say "sale ends 7/3/10"
-
The scanner I saw Sunday literally said that it ended this week, 5/8/10... Maybe that's just a gaff at my store then? I'll update that though since everyone else saw differently. That's good for those still hunting then at least, so at least it was a good news misinformation on my part rather than a bad news. It gives me a little hope of finding them on sale still then.
-
didn't check scanners but all the stickers promoting the sale were gone from the pegs, and the Battlepacks/vehicle were slashed to $19.99. Wondering how this is varying.
-

None of my local stores advertise the $4.99 sale outright either but it is active. You have to either scan the UPC or check out to see/reap the new lower price.
-
It seems to vary from store-to-store.
One store in my travels had tags advertising the Vehicle and Battlepack reduction, but not the figures.
And then the one near where I work has the tags on the figures but no indication that the other items were reduced, but if you take 'em to a price scanner they are.
So I guess it's a "your mileage may vary" kind of thing...
-
My TRU has an assload of $4.99 figure ticket things on the pegs and a $19.99 tag for the one assualt vehicle they have left. A few of my Targets dissed the sale markers on the LEGO items after the first week in April or whenever even though that sale still lasts until Sunday.
-
I never saw, at either store I visited, anything advertising any sale but the BOGO Force Unleashed and things like that. I saw the BOGO tags but those were gone Sunday when I went to another store (if they ever had them up ???).
Figures were $4.99 though, but when the register said, "Sale Ends:" the date beside it was this Saturday... With how many people say they saw another date, I'm guessing it's a single store's glitch. *shrugs* $4.99 to July is pretty welcome to me though, so I'm more than happy to be wrong on that. :D
-
i have to admit it was awesome to finally score a wave (eu) at this price, very cool
-
It just goes to show how much we are ripped off on prices over that last year or two.
-
Just FYI - for those of you living in range of a Meijer store - I visited one in Mishawaka, Indiana two days ago and they are already starting to clearance Legacy items - some down to 50% off.
Battle Packs were $12.50 - I finally grabbed the Gelgarub pack - it wasn't worth it to me at the MSRP - unfortunately I already have all the other BP's I would want.
Y-Wing/Shadow Arcs were $33 - I grabbed the Y-wing
other than that comic packs were only marked down to $11 and change
Blasters both the small trooper style and the commander style were marked down 50% off - $10 and $20 respectively. Also the Rex helmet was half off - I believe down to $20
there may be other things clearanced but that is all I believe seeing - also I am pretty sure Meijer does clearancing corporate wide, not store to store - but I could be wrong
-
Good incentive on their end to clear out old product to those not in the know. :-\
-

That and $4.50 figures.
Man - so now, for $4.50 I can get a figure with primo articulation, a droid part, and basically a lottery-ish type feel that I may actually win something (who knows if something was actually done to those figures or not).
In a couple of months for $8 I will just be getting the figure with primo articulation... ???

Hasbro Toys shop is doing 20% off plus free shipping. FREESHIP20. I had to pull the trigger and get the Stormtroopers I had been eyeing up.

I was just coming in here to post hat... between the 20% off and the $4.99 on lots of older figures, I was able to buy up a few of the army builders I'd passed on at 4.00 each. Can't beat that.
If anyone skipped out on Scanning Crew Troopers, now's your big chance.
-
That's pretty decent for sure. Good time to stock up on lots of stuff over there.
-
Picked up x10 Sandtroopers and x10 Spacetroopers off HTS. nice deal! 8)
-
Two things -
HTS refunded me $6 after putting my one phone call in a week or so ago complaining about the price going lower the day after I purchased something during one of their "sales" Funny thing is had I waited until now it would have even been cheaper - oh well.
Also yesterday I received my 3 free Saga Legends figures for buying my clone commaner blaster. My early prediction was I was going to be receiving Saese, Plo, and Saese - but I actually received Vader, Chewbacca, and AOTC Clone! The last one was the real shocker to me. All were moc just like they would have been had I bought them from a store. There cards were by no means mint (not that I cared) because they were crammed in a box that wasn't wide enough.
-
I noticed this morning that figures were $4.99 at Target. It might be a good time to stock up on ESB wave army builders if that's your thing.
-

Glad to hear that Target has joined the game, but they have an army of crap in my neighborhood. :-\ - still not seeing the stickers, not that I care though
-
yeah, target seems to be the odd man out when it comes to figures these days, the ones around me havnt re stocked in months, they seem to keep stocking the esb wave and no new clone wars figs either
-
I picked up:
x3 Sae See Tiins from WM (Yes, it's true. They are for customs.)
x2 K'Kuhk, Darktrooper, Spacetrooper & EP1 Obi-Wan from TRU also for customs.
It's amazing what a lower price can do. I find myself taking advantage of the great deals out there. I now have incentive to hit Target since their price is lower.
-

I agree - I've found myself buying Legends army builders lately since I can get them for so cheap at TRU and WalMart.
I've bought another six 501st Legion troopers and four Super Battle Droids lately, mostly for the gun lockers so I can give that big gun in the locker to my Spacetroopers, but getting the additional army builders is nice too.
Wouldn't mind picking up some Shocktroopers at this price as well...
-
Not only did I see the $4.99 figure price at Target tonight but most everything else is on sale also. Vehicles for $19.99, BPs for $22 or $23 and change, Transformers were $13.99 I think. I don't recall if the Clone Wars fig/vehicles were on sale or not but the Galactic Heroes were $4.99 also.
I don't think the Y-Wing was marked down and I don't recall if the role play items were or not either. I didn't even look at the comic packs because they disgust me.
E...
-
I don't think the Y-Wing was marked down
The what? I haven't seen the y-wing or the ARC since around Christmas I believe at Target, WM, or TRU for that matter. Nice to see that selection is still available in certain parts of the US - at an awful high pricepoint :)
-
my Target just put out 2 Wedge X-Wings last week ???
still at full price btw
-
We've had Y-Wings on the shelf pretty consistently since they first hit. I think the local Target was out of them for about a month starting right after Christmas but they restocked, either from the back or a new shipment, and they've been out since. There are even 2 or 3 at my Walmart store marked $45 in the clearance section.
My Target had 2 or 3 X-Wings on an end cap right after Christmas. When they started their clearance they moved the X-Wings to a new end cap where they were the only SW product and they never marked them down. When they dismantled the end caps the X-Wings disappeared but I don't know what happened to them. I was hoping for a drop in price and I was going to pick one up. Another Target I stop in when I make the trip had two on the shelf as of a week ago, still regular price. I really want this, but I just can't justify $50 for it.
E...
-
Ya the X-Wings just kind of disappeared here as well. They either sold through very well or they're still hiding in the back? Never did see them on clearance either - which is a first for a Target exclusive (at least in my neck of the woods)
-
It was the same thing here locally as well. They never hit clearance at any of our stores, and then just disappeared as well. Surprising, especially for a Target exclusive.
-
Looks like Hasbro wants to help retailers avoid summer clearances: Star Wars Free Gear Give-Away (http://www.hasbro.com/starwars/en_US/discover/news/free-gear-giveaway/).
From May 28 through July 31, 2010, spend $25 or more on select Hasbro toys and get a free role play toy - choose from Captain Rex Helmet or Duel Action Lightsaber. Click the link for all the details.
-
I kind of wanted a Rex Helmet, and so I went out to see if I can find $25 worth of stuff to buy.
WM had some battlepacks, but all at full price, so I was a little reluctant to jump at those... Target had a Vulture Droid though so I bought that and put a couple Legends figs in to push it over, and voila. $25 was easily had, so I sent a form in... Interesting little give-away.
And it goes a while too, so you never know what may turn up too, between now and then.
It's a good thing for doing charity give-aways too I think.
-
I think it'd be cool if Hasbro continued this "free" redemption, but with basic figures instead of the role play products... similar to when they mailed out SL figures for a while.
-
Sometimes it goes more with a certain audience and what they have the most stock of... From what I've gathered, their role-play stuff sells well, and they produce tons of it, and sometimes it appears like it's not selling but the reality is they make a ton and sometimes get stuck with extras, but the numbers they sell far outweigh the overproduction. Just what I've gathered/heard over the years.
And so they're stuck with Rex helmets and sabers, and figure to move stuff that's out there before the end of July they'll give some of it away. Figures I think are a more controlled production situation. They may have lots of some figures, or not, and maybe the offer just doesn't apply as well then? That's a possibility anyway. I'd think at bes tthey have lots of Legends maybe, and that may not even entice people much.
Roleplay stuff's popular though, so I think this may help clear things a bit. I've got one Rex helmet, and a few extra forms printed just incase I find stuff in the next 2 months. I figure, why not? Ya know?
I'm actually really happy to get the Rex helmet too... I wasn't willing to plunk money down for one as it's one of those things I'd like to have but am too cheap to buy for myself because I simply didn't need it. Just a goofy thing to own to me. But this offer made it easy for me to get one now. I guess I'll put it up with Vader or something.
-
On the front page JJ mentions that Ross stores have TFU three packs for 8 bucks. Oh I wish there were Ross stores near me....
Not sure if I'll get a chance to go for Hasbro's new buy $30 worth of stuff, get a lightsaber or helmet free deal, but I really like that you get to pick what you want.
-
On the front page JJ mentions that Ross stores have TFU three packs for 8 bucks. Oh I wish there were Ross stores near me....
I have one Ross store near me, and that one sells more Pirates of the Carribean stuff that doesn't sell at all instead of Star Wars products. The most Star Wars product I've run into at Ross were a healthy assortment of comic packs.
-

The local Ross store had nothing. That being said, I'm looking for one of each set. If someone is willing to help, I'd be willing to pay $10 plus shipping per set.
-
Hey Greg,
I'll stop up this weekend and see what they have. The Incinerator set's a LOT harder to get, just so you know. I saw only one. The other set there were 5 maybe.

Just got back from a TRU trip and found Pons Limbac, he rang up at $7.49 so they ended the sale earlier than advertised out here as well.
-
Not that anyone cares, but looks like Target has their StarFormers on sale for $10.
-

Can confirm my local TRU ended the sale too. Local Wal-Marts are still $4.50 though I've heard rumors that other Targets and WM are upping the prices back to thr $6 range.
-
Did it do any good? Did they actually move product?
-
Every store I have been to has... They're down to the bare minimum(s) of pegwarmers pretty much. My nearest WM went from having literally a full section in the main SW aisle of basic figures, as well as a completely full endcap of Legends, down to just pretty much filling up the main aisle now (it's got space for new stuff) of figures.
And that includes them getting in case upon case of ESB Wave revision cases and the snowbi-wan/Ani cases lately which have been selling through for the most part.
The usual suspects have lingered on though, like Legends Plo, Legacy Plo, CW3D Plo, and Yarna. Also a number of Bespin Guards oddly enough... It's down mostly to Legends/CW3D stuff now though. Still 3 1st day of issue Yarna's I laugh about all the time too. Love seeing those around.
-
... Still 3 1st day of issue Yarna's I laugh about all the time too. Love seeing those around.
Did they also have C5 contest stickers on them? It would be sad if one of those had an actual winning ticket in them.
-
The sale prices at the local Target move Clone Wars and Legends but the TLC figures were already at a minimum with the most recent stragglers being a Wing Guard, Hood and Agen Kolar. And, of course, we still have blue packaged Breha and Bail Organa and a Stass Allie figure left from the flood last October.
Walmart, on the other hand, has moved Clone Wars at $4.50 but not as much Legends and I don't think any sale price is going to move all the Malikili, Nien Nunb and Nikto figures.

Surprisingly, no... None of the blue stuff but Xixor/Leia comics got the sticker.
At my store there were TONS of Nein Numb's around and they actually moved, so you never know. $4.50 pilots is a good price. The Nikto and stuff were gone anyway. :-\
-
Just sent in for that "free gear give away" thing. Fingers crossed for the Rex helmet for my son.

Crap! At Target they were like around $4.99 when on sale... but the $6 price range is OK, too! At normal price they're $9 flat, including tax.
-
Some jackhole on another forum was trying to give me crap for buying figures online at TRU at "inflated prices" and I had to explain that the figures actually cost $7.49 on the pegs now at any TRU, not just online. ::)

Why should he care what you pay for figures. That's your business. He's just jealous you got them.
-
It seems confusing as to what people are even paying... Some are saying $9.99, others are saying less... I don't get to TRU often. TRU.com was having a sale going on when they put these up? Or no?
$7.50-$7.99 is what we were paying, so if you paid that I don't see anything inflated about it... $9.99, eh... But like was said, it's your money. I just wouldn't spend that kind of dough on them.
I'm just twiddling my thumbs till I can wander out to a TRU I guess. No sense getting pissy with someone for buying stuff now.
-

The advertised price is at $9.99, but with the BOGO sale and free shipping, it comes out to what we are pretty much paying at the moment.
-
My TRU didn't have any of the new figures, but remaining SL and Clone Wars figs they had were about $7.50 (might have been $7.49). I was hoping to take advantage of the BOGO 50% deal, but they really didn't have anything...
-
JTA is reporting that you can request a price adjustment from TRU if you ordered your figures online prior to the BOGO sale. I'll be looking into this tonight for sure. (Although I'm still waiting for them to credit my card back for the first order I cancelled, so I'm not holding my breath)

Well, I ordered while the sale was in progress, and unlike when you pick up the figures in a store and they give you 50% off every other figure, I bought eight CW figures and none of them had 50% off, so I may call them and see if I can get them to give me a couple dollars back on my order.

Target's in Chicagoland are clearing out left-over stock of the Wedge Antilles X-Wing for as low as $12.48. I was able to pick up a few last night for myself and a fellow collector. It's a great deal and I'm glad I held out on the set, if you held out too now might be the time to check your local Bulls-eye.
-
dang! they just brought in a bunch of those to Target near me and they are still full price. Might need to try and scan one and see what it says on the scanner
-
I wonder why Target decided to shove these back in the stock rooms for 6 months or so and then to finally bring them back out for the inevitable clearance. Happy to have an opener though for $13. 8)
-

$12.48!!? **** me, they retailed for $79.99 at Zellers in Canada. Hence the reason I don't own one. ::)
-
All the Wedge X-Wings mysteriously vanished from all but one Target here, and they're still at full price. I'd love to snag one on clearance, but my local stores would rather just take everything off the shelves rather than clearance it.
-
my local store has a mountain of these x-wings that arrived out of nowhere recently - and they are all still at full price as of yesterday when I scanned it.

TRU Buy One Get One 50% Off is back this week. Great timing, since I just passed up the Cloud Car and Snowspeeder the other day. ::)

I really like this repaint for some reason. Not sure which version I have hanging on my ceiling, but this one just "pops" Also - the wings seem to open alot wider than said version from ceiling. Don't really care for the ladders, but ya.
-
Target is in a heavy state of limbo right now, so I'm guessing all the best buys would be at Toys R Us and Walmart. And TRU is having that BOGO sale again.

I'm really curious who will get their Vintage stuff out first - Target or Walmart. Will they both wait until 8/6?
-
Not sure if anyone would care, but I was at KMart yesterday and anything in their clearance section was an additional 50% off. So the Imperial ARC fighter and Clone Wars Y-Wing, which were $52ish, were clearance priced to $42 (I think) meaning they were $21 or so. They also had the Clone trooper helmets, the RC-R2 and a smattering of Lightsabers and Blasters.

Just thought I'd share a very insignificant piece of news, but, at Target, you can easily get clearanced Malakillis and other "undesirables" in the LC line for $4.19. Hopefully they'll get a tsunami of new TVC product in the coming month, especially since there's not even a Star Wars section at most stores anymore.
-
Here's a fun Target find; the only 3 basic figures they have left are Breha Organa figs. They have clearance tags on them and are currently scanning for $3-something (50% off I believe). However, some chucklehead tagged them with a clearance sticker saying they were originally something like $14.89 and they're now $7.44.
I think it's a conspiracy by Target to never, ever sell those three figures. Ever.

My Target had like 10 Bespin Guards... No matter how good they make him, he still won't sell.
I bought 2, I'll admit. I didn't think they'd have anything, but I was wrong.
They also have Yarna and Breha... still.

History repeating.
Back in the 80's the dark-skinned Bespin Guard was a total peg warmer. You could still find them on ESB cards years after Kenner ended the whole Star Wars line. I wound up with 8 of them. I think I have one MOC somewhere.
-
Your mileage may very on this because it happened to me at Target - and they were reducing all clearance stuff to 75% off
I bought:
2 Clone Commander Blascters - marked down to $10 each
1 Clone Nerf gun - $4.25
1 Clone Helmet - $10
But the best part is, with the inclusion of the Aurra Sing figure I bought last week - I can now mail away for another free Rex Helmet ;D (I have to use the Sing purchase because for whatever reason the Clone trooper helmet wasn't included on the form - only the Rex style).
I am thinking I may be able to send away for a 3rd too with the purchases I made a while back on the Snow Speeder and Cloud Car vehicles during TRU's bogo 1/2 off sale. The form just says standard vehicles....
And yes - I will of course be using different mailing addresses ;) hope it works - I am just getting this stuff for my son to give to his friends for birthdays
-
And yes - I will of course be using different mailing addresses ;) hope it works
I don't think they care for this promo - well at least the TF one said you could have multiple shipments sent to the same address - just need a seperate order form for each submission...SW could be different though? I dunno..
-
I am 99.9% sure there's no problem shipping to the same address. They just want to clear things out, so no limits or anything.
-
Come to think of it - where's the link for the helmet? I like free stuff.

From May 28 through July 31, 2010, spend $25 or more on select Hasbro toys and get a free role play toy - choose from Captain Rex Helmet or Duel Action Lightsaber. Click the link for all the details.

I got my Rex Helmet not too long ago actually. It's pretty nifty as a toy, I see why kids love these things. I had the Vader... They're too big to buy them all I figure, but man that Boba one is tempting too.
Free though, couldn't pass it up. I've not had a need/urge to buy much more SW stuff to get another item, but I just maybe broke $25 last week, so I need to go through all my receipts the last month and see what I maybe bought. I don't believe Jodo Kast counts, unfortunately. :(
-
I am just hoping they count the new vehicles as "all vehicles", and the new clone wars figures, ie Aurra Sing, as "Clone Wars Figures".
Like I said, I am down for free stuff - I am just gonna have my son give em away as birthday gifts if we already have them.

I pre-ordered those 4 EE exclusive comic sets - do you think a receipt from that showing my order # would work for this?
edit: just read all the fine print and you guys certainly are right. It does not say anywehre anything about one per household. And it also does not say anything about pre-orders not being eligible - they just want an order #

One of the local Targets had their last remaining Legacy figures on clearance. There were 3 Willrows left. $1.51 each.
I almost felt compelled to buy them all at that price. $1.51!!!
-
I did buy 2 more Willrows at that price, leaving the last one for someone else. I'm not sure why I got them. Not sure his head would swap out well with many figures or anything. Maybe all the haters who missed the figure will realize they need one and the prices will skyrocket on the aftermarket. 8)
I allso found Leesub and a Sgt. Eidan. It's a crime to buy Leesub that cheap; she's got a great figure...er...she's a great figure.
-
I got my first free Rex helmet in the mail today. Pretty shocked when it got here - a $40 product for nothing - not even paying shipping. pretty great!
-
K-Mart has started (?) to clearance their exclusive Clone Trooper 4-pack, the one with Scuba Clone, Red ARC Trooper, Quad Gunner and clone armor Obi-Wan, for $19. They still have a bunch around here. Just need a 50% off sale! 8)
-
Blech, still not sure I Would buy that set even at $10.
-
If there's any Legacy figures you want at Toys R Us, be warned, they aren't part of the buy one, get one 50% off sale at Toys R Us this week. I found a Bacara and found that out at the register.
-
I found figures at K-Mart tonight were cut to $6.00 each. They had figures ranging from The Phantom Menace wave all the way to A New Hope wave (I picked up a Scanner Tech and was giddy to get another). Selection will vary by store and may even include 2008 figures, but hopefully people find some nice deals.
-
Extra 20% of K-Mart clearance currently. I found the Clone Squad for $10.40 (including the 20% off). Also, B-A-D figures were $3.20 or something (weren't even marked as clearance at the store I went to), but there were none I really wanted. Older Clone Wars and Legends scanned as full price, though.
I'll check another K-mart tomorrow.

The sucky thing about Target is that while there's an overflow of the 1st few waves of SOTDS and TVC, there's no section at all for clearanced BAD figures. I would have liked to pick up a few discounted figures.

Just thought I would let you know yesterday I received another Rex helmet and two lightsabers (one jedi, one sith) from this promo. So apparently they were fine with taking my pre-order of the comic pack sets from EE for this deal - kinda funny I got the freebie before the actual product I putchased. ;D
So from this freebie promo, I ended up with 2 Rex helemts and 2 lightsabers. pretty cool.
-
Is that promo still running? I totally spaced it on the SW front, but Hasbro is still sending out a bunch of Transformer stuff for folks...
-
unless they extended it without me knowing - no. I sent in for the last 3 things I received a couple of days before the deadline.

Wal-Mart near me had a Prince Xizor/Princess Leia comic on their clearance aisle. It wasn't there before. Where did they dig that up at? It's got a damaged cardboard hook at the top and a hole punched through it for hanging on the peg.
Was marked $10.
Any pack but that one I would've gotten it. I have a few extra from a wal-mart clearance from years ago.

Did you check the UPC on the back? I wonder if someone swapped the UPC with something more current? If not, that thing must have fallen behind something in the stockroom that wasn't cleaned out for over a decade!
-
I didn't check. I assumed because the package was worn that it was a lost in the back room find. It had multiple markdown stickers, if I remember right.

Some cheapo loose Biggs as TIE Pilot figures from the Evolutions set.
5x Star Wars trooper Tie Flighter with open hemlet loose figure (http://www.ebay.com/itm/5x-Star-Wars-trooper-Tie-Flighter-with-open-hemlet-loose-figure-/361719776082?hash=item54382dc352:g:aHYAAOSw-kdX0NSA)
Tempting...damned opened helmet, though.
