So I saw Hellboy last night.
Having never read any of the comics, I was kinda nervous about not understanding the plot, but thankfully the plot is somewhat overused and anyone whose ever played Return to Castle Wolfenstein will be familar with the story...
Not a bad movie, though! I didn't like the tentacled squid-dog-looking bastards, I thought they were lame... but I thought the (overused) Super Nazi storyline was pretty cool. I'd definately suggest you comic/sci-fi fans go see it.

I have heard good things about this film.
I guess I am going to have to break and go see it, I kind of t though it would be a little lame, but hey, guess you can not judge a book by it's cover right?

Saw Hellboy in theatres last night, and It surpassed all my expectations that I had for it, ever. I loved the ubernazi storyline, and that top assasin to Hitler.
Hellboy was really great.

I definitely enjoyed the movie. I'll probably see it again tomorrow. Now I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Hellboy props :)

This was a great movie, man I loved it. I think Selma Blair, was awesome as Liz!
It is a great film, I encourage everyone to go see it! ;D

Agreed, 'twas good times. Ron Pearlman is perfectly cast and nails Hellboy's bluecollar attitude. The plot's pretty standard, but as a comic book movie, it really comes off unique. Very cool.

I've been trying to talk the wife into going to this movie as well. I have never read any of the comics, and basically know nothing about the character, but just thought the trailers looked cool. Sounds like everyone is enjoying it so far, so that's good. #1 at the box office this weekend as well I believe.

My buddy Greg (shutup, all of you) went to see Hellboy last night and said it 'sucked ass,' mainly due to the squid things - so apparently I'm not the only one who thought those things were stupid.

I loved it. Lots and lots of fun. Movies aren't fun, anymore, you know? I'll actually probably see it again, since our theater here is too good for Eternal Sunshine and Kill Bill is a week away yet.

I finally had a day off, so I went and seen Hellboy tonight. I enjoyed the movie. I will buy it, when it comes out on DVD.

I absolutely loved the movie, but I do agree, Samael is kind of a week character. I was also expecting the grand forces of evil to be much more sinister/hellish, and much less "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within". Kroenen and Rasputin, along with Ilsa (DAMN those were some tight pants at the end of the movie), kicked about 9 or 10 different levels of ass, especially Kroened. The Hero side was well rounded as well.
Definitely enjoyed it though, and want to see it again. Hopefully we can get a sequel, sans squid demons.

Saw the first showing yesterday. I've heard of the character, but haven't read any of the books. The only time I've read something with HB in it was when he guest starred a few times in Savage Dragon and the recent $0.25 issue with him and the corpse.
Excellent movie. A good mix of character development and action. Perlman is perfect for the part, pretty muched nailed the character from what little I know. And Selma Blair, what an under rated hottie. Definitely would have liked to see more of her.
I too, hope for some sequels and will definitely be buying the dvd.
