Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Last CD You Bought
« on: May 6, 2003, 01:31 PM »
Last CD bought in a store was Godsmack Faceless (not as good as their last album and not certainly no where near any good as their first) and before that was Elephant by TWS.

I had some bonus points at CH and used them to get Social Distortion Social Distortion and Lauryn Hill The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.  I wanted to get a few Weezer CDs, but alas CH doesn't stock them  :(

I saw Dallas tie it up and then fell asleep before OT started (around 10:30EST).  From the sound of it, the game seemed similar to the Flyers - Pens 5OT game a few years ago, which I did stay up to watch.  Truely an amazing game.

I love playoff hockey.

Flyers - Senators tonight.  Should be a good game.

The Pats are looking to get an interior D lineman to plug the middle and move Seymour to DE (they're plan on playing a 3-4 this year).  Right now, the rumor is them giving up their two #1's to Chicago and draft fourth to get Robertson.  If that doesn't happen, I still feel they'll try to move up ahead of the Jets as I have a stinking suspicion that they'll try to pooch the Pats. (as the Pats did to them when they drafted Matt Light a few years back)

If they don't move up, hopefully Sullivan will be there at 14, who should work well with Seymour (both Georgia grads and Sullivan backed up Seymour while they were both there).  Look for the Pats to get a O lineman with the 19th pick.

I also heard rumors of Houston swapping (plus a few in subsquent rounds) with Cinncy to take Rogers at #1.  Both Houston and Detroit need a wide out to go with their young QB.  Cinncy would still be able to take Palmer at #3.  I think it would be advantageous for Cinncy to do this.  They move up higher in the second round, still get their #1 player and wouldn't  have to pay him #1 pick money.

I'm thinking about picking up Enemy at the Gates... I've rented it before, but I can't remember if I liked it enough to buy it... So, now I gotta think real hard about the lame parts (romance)....

Also, I'll pick up TNMT and Batman, One Flew Over a Cuckoo's Nest and maybe The Longest Day, eventually...

If you find EatG for cheap, you should buy just for the shot of Rachel Weisz's bare ass  ;)

Great night for hockey tonight.  Three game 7's.  Obviously I'm rooting for the Flyers to handle the Leafs.

I would like to see the Wild get an upset, but wouldn't be mad if they lost.  I have nothing against the Avs.

In the final game 7, I'll take the Blues.

GO FLYERS!!!!!!

As you can see by by feedback, I don't ebay too often.  The items above complete my figural mug collection.

However, I have been eyeing a few Gamorrean Guard items for a character collection I'm thinking about starting.

What is she, like 50 years older than Kurt?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Your Bands...

Soundgarden and AIC are probably in my top three along with Zeppelin.

My tastes are pretty much the same as yours, Scott.  While not as big a fan of PJ as you, I do listen to them.  I really would love to see them live, but nobody really wants to go  :o

As for bands not mentioned:

I've seen Aerosmith three times (with a possible fourth this summer) and have never been disappointed, although I did enjoy the arena show (Worcester Centrum) more than the two outdoor shows, but I think that had to do with acoustics.  My wife absolutely loves Joe Perry.

Metallica: Never saw them live (and don't want to pay big bucks to see them tour with  Limp Bizkit and the tool of all tools, Fred Durst) While many people bash their records post And Justice for All, I actually enjoyed them.  They've grown as artists and change styles.  While the speed metal style of MoP and RtL was great in its own way, so are their other albums.  And I enjoyed S&M immensely.

And now for the guilty pleasure artist:

Bon Jovi: IMO, just go old fashion rock and roll with catchy lyrics.  Even if you're not a fan, I can bet you can see along to at least one of their songs.

Good to see the Wings go down in 4.  Guiere (sp?) is one hot goalie right now and goaltending wins championships.

Flyers-Leafs went to trip OT and the friggin game wasn't on in Boston  >:( >:(  Glad to see they tied the series up.  Next game is a Saturday matinee.  I'll actually be in the Philly area this weekend, so everything should be hopping.

Scott, butch is too kind.  I would have used a more unpleasant term, which I wouldn't dare to utter here.  I'll let your mind make up the rest.

And I forgot my most hated Nascar drivers (which I know doesn't have a huge fan base here)

-Jeff Gordon.  I despise him so much that even for my love for all thing Star Wars, I refuse to purchase the Phantom Menace Pepsi replica car because this tool drove it.

-Little E (Earnhardt, Jr).  Wasn't a big fan of his pappy and it seemed to rub off on him.  I know he's the cash cow of Nascar, but I just don't like him.  I'm also not a fan of his teammate Michael Waltrip, but he sucks so the hatred is less.

Alright, we've had your favorite sports team thread and lots of team bashing in the NBA and Stanley Cup playoffs thread, so we might as well bash every other sport as well  ;)

Teams I absolutely, positively loathe:
-NY Yankees
-NY Jets
-NJ Devils
-NY Mets
-NY Rangers
(notice a trend here?)
-NY Giants
-NY Islanders
-Pittsburgh Steelers
-Oakland Raiders
-Miami Dolphins
-Dallas Cowboys
-Washington Redskins

You'll notice most of the NFC and AFC East teams, which stems from the fact that the Pats and Eagles are my fav teams.  And New York teams has always been the biggest rivals with Boston and Philly teams.  The Devils are included here because even though they play in the cess pool that is North Jersey, they're close enough to NY to get a nod.

Teams I don't necessarily loathe, but enjoy seeing when they lose:
-Detroit Red Wings
-Buffalo Bills
-LA Lakers (not that I really care about the NBA, but I don't like them none the less)

So how about it.  What teams do you love to hate?

Even though the Flyers lost in double OT last night, I still have hope.  They'll win tomorrow and even the series up, which I now believe will go seven games.  Other than the NJ - Boston and Ducks-Red Wings (boy do I love when the Wings lose), I think we're going to see alot of long first round series.

LET'S GO FLYERS!!!!!!

Oh you want scars do ya?

My lip has a scar from when some b**** throw a rock at my face in grade school.

My back has three deep scars that should have gotten stitches but never did.  Two came from when I rode my bike down a hill, flipped it and landed in a pile of broken beer bottles.  The other came when the horizontal support board came off on my bunk bed and was never replaced.  I sat up one day and sliced my back on the exposed nail.

I have a few scars on my head. One came when I fell down as an infant and smacked my head open.  The other came when my cousin throw a beer bottle at a tree and it bounced back and hit me in the noggin.  I'm still trying to figure out how the hell that one happened.

I have one on the inside of my right groin from where I fell off my bike and landed on one of the exposed handle bars.  Yeah, that one was a little scary ;)

There are probably a few more.  Let's just say that I was a rough and tumble kid.
