Ineed, it will be a day long remembered...  This has been something I've wanted to see for ages Firebat.  Some good scale Aliens/Preds for SW.  I think the Hot Toys line fills that need nicely, but to get an at least nice LOOKING queen with pods will be sweet.  The little diorama's neat though, and the pred in the connecting base looks real cool too.

This may be OT, but there was a reader in the latest ToyFare that had some good ideas that may pertain to McFarlane.

*Jules and Vincent from Pulp Fiction
*The Dude from Big Lebowski
*Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver
*Jack and ?? from Fight Club

I, too, think there are great ideas for McFarlance-esque figures...classic movies for our generation.

Some of my favorite movies too...obviously I really dig the Dude idea!   ;)

Dude, WTF? Napoleon Dynamite before Pulp Fiction?

I guess McFarlane is just picking up licenses so NECA and Sota can't keep handing Todd'd ass to him.

I hate to admit it, but I kind of liked the movie.

This just doesn't seem like McFarlane's cup of tea...

OT - has anyone seen anything on the Simpsons figures he's supposed to be doing?

I'm dying to see what he has up his sleeve for the almighty Homer clan.

I loved the movie.  I'm glad TMP is doing this, just more money I have to spend.

Have you guys seen the new military figures from McFarlane?

These are some of the best face sculpts I've ever seen.

Yup, neat stuff.  The original pics from Mcfarlane (spawn.com and the same as the ones that ebayer has up) are several pages back.  Apparently there will be chase pieces for these too.  Caucasian and African-American versions of each soldier.  No real mention of a ratio between the two though.

Hopefully an equal ratio. The sculpts for each head will be different, correct?

Yes, different head sculpts and I think that's really it.  The rest - uniform, gear, weapon - will be identical.

I picked up some Conan series 2 figures yesterday-- Pallantides and Zenobia.

For a company that supposedly "broke all the rules" with their product ten years ago, they're sure pussing out now. They painted some panties and a bra on Zenobia, plus put an Ages 5 and Up thingy on the front. As if five year olds would be buying Conan figures.

It wouldn't be an issue had the underwear been sculpted in instead of half-assedly painted on. It just stinks of McToys getting cold feet. I guess they censored it for TRU and Wal-Mart, but I have never seen any McF product besides Sportspicks and a couple of Spawn series at WM, and TRU won't even be receiving Zenobia (can verify- I spoke to employees at two different TRUs and they said she wasn't in the case.)

Anyway, that's the rant. I'm curious to see what chains carry the Military line.

I was Toys R Us on the weekend and I'm having a hard time passing on the MacFarlane lines.  I've always stuck with just Star Wars since I spend so damn much money on that stuff alone!

But I came across a couple of the Conan, Dragons and Spawn figures.  Damn, he does nice stuff.

I grabbed Conan and the Gorilla (WTH was his name?) to add to the 2 older Spawn figures I grabbed last summer.  I think it'll be necessary to set aside an "other toy lines" section in my Star Wars room...  ;)

I think that some of the attraction to the Spawn and Conan figures is that I was really into each comic at the beginning of their respective releases.  I loved Spawn for the first 25 issues or so and then lost the comic bug altogether back in 1993 or 1994 (somewhere around there).  Then Conan was released by Dark Horse last year and I really enjoyed it, but the lack of a comic shop in town has prevented me from keeping up with it.

So seeing well-done figures of characters I was really interested in makes it pretty hard to pass on.  We'll see how my willpower does.   ;)

I love those Conan figures, but they have to be the most fragile McToys I've ever owned. Next to my Hicks figure that broke right out of the package, I mean.
