There are a couple interesting things in there.  Seems like a pretty ambitious list compared to what Hasbro's done lately.  Some of them make sense for showing up in the Rebels show but some of the Saga listings don't, not with only a year (basically) left before Hasbro needs to cut back some to launch a new film line.

Blind Master and Jinx just arrived from my HTS pre-orders.  Decent looking figures but I haven't opened them yet.

I ended up seeing Elysium.  I was a little tired going in and actually zoned out a couple times during the movie so that's sort of an indication of how interesting it was at times.

It was okay, glad I didn't pay for it, though.

I stopped over to RS and found on their Joe forum where people reported seeing a few newer items at Walmart as well.  I really didn't expect that to happen as I haven't seen a WM or Target that left Joe on the planogram.

I've also seen reports of full cases of Roadblock or Snake Eyes showing up at TRU.  Apparently Hasbro thought that would be okay with us, proving once again they're ******* idiots.

Did anyone see Elysium and have any comment on it?  Or Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters?

I was going to skip both but I have a free ticket that expires the end of the month and nothing opening this week or next looks any more interesting to me so figured I'd catch one of these if they're any good.

Holy crap!  I can't believe that wave even showed up in a retail store, at any price!

It'll probably be our luck that it'll be some hipster ******bag alien that finds Voyager, sees the record, which is so 24th century, and dismisses the entire greetings thing we worked so hard to put together.

If you go to Walmart's website you can see all of the stuff they chose.  None of it is anything we'd be interested in.  It's all actual toy stuff and for younger kids.  The Ninja Turtles sewer playset made it, though, and that's probably the closest thing to a collectible on the list.

No Lego, no Angry Birds, nothing from the action figure aisle...definitely nothing Star Wars.

For 2012, Lego said that their 2 best selling properties were Star Wars and City with Ninjago being 3rd.  But their annual report didn't give percentages or anything to break it down more.

Lego was actually number 2 for all of 2012 on sales and when you look at the net income they were number 1, beating Mattel by about $215 million.

It won't be a big surprise if they're at least number 2 again this year with Hasbro not really offering anything that would push them up the ladder.  They had no Star Wars for 2/3 of the year, Transformers had no movie, the GI Joe line was a carry-over from last year and really only got 1 extra wave at retail, the Iron Man and Wolverine lines were reduced and there wasn't really any new Avengers stuff.  I'd be surprised if games, girls toys (which have still been strong for them) and NERF can really make them competitive. Or Angry Birds...

Here's an indication of how much respect Lego has, IMO; my local Walmart has barely 15 feet of traditional action figure space left in their toy aisle while Lego has one side of an ENTIRE aisle...something like 40 - 50 feet.

Every year at Christmas time, my Target nearly sells out of all Lego, across the board.  You'll be lucky to find a dozen leftover stets, total, by Christmas Eve.

A 3 3/4" Trek line that doesn't suck.

3 3/4" Stargate line. <-- that also doesn't suck

Fixed that for you...

There was a 3.75" line of Stargate figures for the movie but they were only about 5 POA and had the large, goofy, overly colorful accessories.  They used the AWE Striker for one of the vehicles IIRC also.

They weren't 3 3/4" (that would've made too much sense), more like 4 1/2",  they looked too big next to 3 3/4" figures.  I had the whole run via clearance sales.  The Awe Striker mold was modified to seat just one figure.

They are?  I have them stored away somewhere but didn't remember them being that much bigger.  I knew the seat for the AWE Striker was modified, but never owned that.

I'm really interested to see what they do for BTTF, Aliens and Predator.  Some Colonial Marines from Aliens?  Sure thing!  I'm with Jesse on one point though, I still wish there were more of those snap kit figures around.  I only ever ended up with one Alien and 2 Predator figures and never did score any of the Marines.

I've seen the Uruk-hai sets marked down to $21 at Walmart but mine still has them regular price at $29.  I passed on both prices, but now that I have the Helm's Deep set I may pick up at least 1 at regular price and wait for a sale or when I get back to that other WM for a couple more.
