I'm surprised they haven't released what the exclusive item will be yet.

Hall of Justice / Re: DC Superheroes

Incidentally, I threw in the Ross version of Green Lantern, in case Jeff is being forced to follow along at home.  It's a great figure, but I think a bit larger than the GL series of GL figures.

I must have missed this line amongst the big posts, but yeah - I agree.  I've got that Ross GL figure and he is a bit larger than the rest of the GL figures.  Seems to be that those Ross figures are a bit on the large scale.

Scale with DC stuff is frustrating.  Most of the Hasbro/Mattel stuff ends up being closer to 6" - 6/5" scale, while the DCD stuff is closer to 7" - 7.5" scale.   ::)

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 30th Anniversary Tin Collector Set
« on: November 14, 2006, 12:17 AM »
I got my Tins in the mail today from Amazon, and I must say I am much more excited over these three tins than the prequel sets.

In the prequel sets, I only kept 5 figures: R2-R9 (new repaint), Clone Trooper (Blue repaint), Jango Fett (kit-bash), Yoda (accessory kit-bash), and AT-RT Driver (White repaint).  I ditched the other 7 because they were straight repacks (the soft goods cloaks did nothing for me).

With the OT sets, I'll end up keeping 9 figures: Sandtrooper (new head), ANH Vader (new head/torso), Snowtrooper (new head), Hoth Han (brown coat, snow deco), Hoth Luke (snow deco, no damage face), Hoth Chewie (snow deco), Scout (VTSC with new head), Endor Rebel (new head), and Endor Leia (much nicer than PLC version).

It's surprising how going from liking less than 50%of the figures in the first 3 tins to liking 75% of the figures in the next 3 tins can change your opinion on these.   ;)

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: TRU exclusive Bantha & Rancor?
« on: November 13, 2006, 11:27 AM »
Yeah, I'll agree with others in here...

When this thing was first released, in a fancy window box packaging no less, it was only $30 and managed to see clearance in a few places.  To re-release it nearly 10 years later at a 50% price increase is pretty lame.... unless it gets a significant pack-in treatment (a la the Dagobah X-wing).  For $45, it should have at least 1-2 Tuskens and a little Tusken tent or something.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Hasbro Weekly Q and A
« on: November 10, 2006, 10:00 PM »
The Hasbro QnA for JD from 10/27 has been posted...

- Galactic Marine details! (to be fixed soon)
- Two Droids for Ilum!
- Clean Tantive Stormtroopers!

9310
And there was much rejoicing!   From this week's Hasbro Q&A at JediDefender:

Quote
3. Early catalog images of the "Capture of Tantive IV" battle pack also appeared this week (so I'm sure you'll also see this question asked by someone else). Collectors are already asking about those Stormtroopers. Are they based on the VOTC sculpt or the Evolutions sculpt or something else entirely? Will the Stormtroopers be nice and clean or will they be "battle damaged" or dirty? The mock-up images make them look pretty dirty which is disappointing if true, everyone knows the Stormtroopers have shiny new armor; it's the rest of the imp troopers who get dirty.

** The figure is the Evo Stormtrooper sculpt. The troopers will be clean. The dirty ones are an error at the factory that we are working to correct. As a result, this one will be delayed relative to the other two national battle packs (Dagobah and Geonosis), but should catch up in schedule quickly. These packs will be available throughout the spring ('07), so collectors should be able to pick up one or more Tantive IV sets without a problem.

And, for those with poor reading comprehesion skills...

- the Stormtroopers will be clean!
- the dirty ones are an error!

From this week's Hasbro Q&A at JediDefender:

2. Early catalog images of the "Ambush at Ilum" battle pack appeared this week thanks to an e-tailer (so I'm sure you'll see this question asked by someone else). Will this set come with one or two of the new droids pictured on the packaging?

** It will come with two: one "solid" and one partially transparent.

they picked up Gary Sheffield's option

Didn't last long...

Tigers deal three pitchers to Yankees for Sheffield

As a fan of a team that has to play the Tigers 19 times during the season, I can't say I'm too thrilled to see them getting better already in the off-season...  >:(

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Spider-Man Movie Series

My main concern is that, well, it's just too much.  Too many enemies.  Too many love interests.  Just too much stuff going on, in general, like what happened with the Schumacher Bat-films.

Yeah, that is my one worry about the film too.  It's annoying that Hollywood thinks they have to keep outdoing themselves with each new film.  It's like they have a comic-book movie hand-book that says - "Well, #1 had one villain, and #2 had 2 bad guys, so let's put 3-4 villains in #3!"   ::)
