That makes it interesting that there will be 'new' figures with action/light up features. Not sure I'll venture over to that line, but maybe glowing lightsabers, 2-1B's eyes and torso or Jawa eyes could do it.

Well, I would have been willing to help people out if there had been an exclusive.

Since this is my first con... what should I expect? Long lines...

Perhaps a loot swap would be good, if anyone finds new figure outside of Manhattan?

Cental Park is also pretty cool. It's huge, but I like the area around the Boathouse personally with the lakes. Brooklyn Bridge is about 40 minutes if you want to walk it round-trip.

Another thing about the Statue of Liberty is that all the tickets to the crown are sold out until it closes. I think that'd be the only way to go. I went when my parents were here and just went up the pedistal. I guess the museums interesting, but the pedistal just gives you a view of Manhattan/Brooklyn and Jersey. You could save some money and just do a boat tour of the area.

The Met is a bit of the way from the Center (along with Guggenheim) but might be worth checking out if you're into art. A show? Depends on the time and money you have.

Are there any ideas that you have?

I'll be in NYC that week and attending Comic Con.  I'd love to meet up with whoever from JD will be there, and also get some pointers, because this is my first trip to the city.   :)

What day are you showing up at the Con (and NYC)?

I guess my pointers are if you want to see the 9/11 Memorial, you have to get tickets (free) in advance. To be sure they don't 'sell' out for the time you're gonna be here, I suggest reserving your time now. If you want to do other touristy things like go up the Empire State Building, tickets are a bit cheaper online, and the ESB tickets are good for a year, so it's not like you have to worry about when you are getting there. The Statue of Liberty is pretty much an all day affair and tickets go fast for the morning times. Plus they are going to close down the statue at some point soon (don't recall the date) for a year.

I think Paul's going to arrange a get-together on one of the nights.

Yeah anybody wanna help me out at the show?

As JJ and Jeff and Rob can attest I am pretty useless at Show.  And factors have conspired against us getting more than just me there.

I might be able to help out... what do you need help with? (Perhaps I should phrase this with the question first, and then volunteer).  ;)

Congrats, Greg! Awesome win there!

Too bad you don't 'out' the cheaters.

Jeff can correct me if I'm wrong, but I seriously doubt it was any of the regulars who post here.

DR, you are probably right that the jedi offenders aren't regulars. It'd probably do no good to out them anyway, since they'd do the same under different aliases the next time.

So as long as the form is watermarked,  you can use any assortment of UPCs now. Hmmm.

I don't know how new this is but I saw a Dug walk through Jabba's palace.

That is totally new for the BR set.

Peter Jackson did that with the Ultimate LotR trilogy and I prefer watching those versions over the theatrical releases.

Is that what some people are upset about the LotR BluRays? That Jackson released the extended editions? After seeing the extended releases, I liked those better... but I have to be in a certain movie to sit and watch LotR since they are so long (even the edited down ones). Still, there are some scenes that were in the theatrical version that work better with the inclusion of the deleted scenes.

To make this OT, I've probably seen about half of the deleted scenes from SW now on Youtube and gotta say that it's good they were left out. The 'Lost Rebels' one is hilarious with some of the poor acting by the pilots. Veers' demise is pretty cool. It's interesting that they use that AT-AT's destruction as the one that Luke uses the detonator on.

Are these scenes still up? Seems like most posts are a year old. (Edit: I seem to have found them)

Yeah, but you would think someone would get the idea that nothing's safe, especially since it's happened to Ashley Greene and Vanessa Hudgens, to name a few.
