LEGO posted a teaser trailer (https://www.facebook.com/LEGO/videos/10154980237728403/) for the new UCS Millennium Falcon yesterday, so I figured I'd start a thread on the new one.
Never got the original since I was a broke college student, so I want to snag this, but I know it'll run a few hundred bucks (original was $499 MSRP)
-
The rumor is that this one is going to be $799.
The main question I'm going to have is whether it's OT, Han Solo Movie, Sequel Trilogy, or if it's going to be interchangeable.

The main question I'm going to have is whether it's OT, Han Solo Movie, Sequel Trilogy, or if it's going to be interchangeable.
You can see BB-8 in the teaser video, so the guess is that it's supposed to be a TFA/TLJ era Falcon... not confirmed though, obviously

Yeah but including a round radar dish is probably all they have to do to make it both versions and simultaneously kill the collectibility of the old version. Since I'm only into OT Lego, I'm kind of hoping they don't do it and leave them as separate things, and then I wouldn't be tempted to get this.
-
I've heard both rumors, that it will be interchangeable and that it will come with both Sequel and OT figures. Guess we'll find out on Force Friday.
-
They'd sell more of them, so it makes way more sense for them to sell it as interchangeable.

It does look like a nice upgrade. I'm looking forward to seeing other angles.
-
Yeah, I love the look. I'm assuming there's no interior like the last one.
I just wonder where I'm going to dig up the cash for this. :-X

It's official, and it looks like all the rumors were accurate:

$800... I have NO idea how I will be able to afford this. :o
-
Look at the size of that thing! (that's what she said).
7500 pieces? I thought the Death Star was big at 4000+. Yikes.
-
Love it. As someone who stupidly didn't buy the original UCS Falcon, I'm all over this. Will wait to double VIP points month, that's basically a "free" $80 to use for another set. Between now and then, I'll sell off my Marvel Legends collection to try to offset the cost a bit.
Did I miss a previous set - when was that TIE Advanced UCS set in the background of the video released? Never mind, it was released in 2006, which was during my off Lego period. I didn't start getting back into Lego until the Shuttle Tydrium UCS set was released.
-
Haven't bought a LEGO set in some time... this is really, really tempting though. :-\
-
Set is available for VIP Members! Currently backordered, and "will ship in 30 days."
Scalpers are already going crazy over it. ::)
-
So according to the site, LEGO severely underestimated the demand for an $800 set, so the set is "Temporarily Out of Stock" and there will NOT be a widespread release on October 1. LEGO says "everyone will have a chance" to buy it, however.
-
I'm imagining this will be in store at least through the release of the Han Solo movie, and probably beyond the release of Episode 9 if the demand is there.

Forgot to post this email I received about 2 weeks ago:
Hello LEGO® Star Wars™ Fan,
As you may know, the new LEGO® Star Wars™ Millennium Falcon (75192), our largest LEGO set ever, went on sale exclusively to VIP Members on September 14. We are very excited that we received such a positive response from fans like yourself, it exceeded all of our expectations! Unfortunately, that also means the first batch has already sold out.
The good news is we are making more as quickly as possible and expect to have very limited quantities available for the remainder of 2017. We have extended the VIP-only access period, which means the new inventory will remain exclusive to VIPs at least through November.
To make your wait a little easier, you can now sign up to receive back-in-stock notifications. Simply confirm your interest below and we’ll email you when a new batch of the Millennium Falcon (75192) is available on shop.LEGO.com
If you'd rather make your purchase at your favorite LEGO Brand Retail store, please call or visit your local store starting Friday 9/29 and ask a Brick Specialist to add you to the wait list.

Lego Stores have these in stock. Got shipments this past weekend. Most around me were sold out but was able to find one. Getting it this afternoon. My wife told me that I have to take that as my Christmas gift for the next 6 years due to how expensive it is. Well worth it!
Give your local store a call and good luck!

Lego shop at home had a limited supply in stock yesterday and I managed to grab one. I was going to wait until I was able to get double VIP points on the purchase, but have jonesing for the set since I finally saw it in person a few weeks back. So glad I decided to sell off my Marvel Legends and DCUC that paid for this (plus the Silent Mary and a new set of golf clubs 8))

Finally was able to swing by my PO Box to pick up the one I purchased before the end of the year. Didn't see the Black VIP card in the box so I called Lego Customer Service about it. Just so anyone who wasn't aware knows, the card is going to be sent separately at a later date, but apparently my VIP account was set to "no promotional mailings" so that might have affected me getting the card at all, so I highly recommend that anyone who ordered the set before December 30, 2017 that you call in and make sure you're all squared away for getting your card.
-
Ended up getting my card in the mail today. Pretty cool item to go along with the set. Glad it finally came.

I finally got the Falcon on Tuesday. The box is absurd.
I ordered the parts to make myself one of these stands:

It's the only hope I have of finding a way to display this thing.
