I htink Boba is in the works, isn't he?  That's what one of the earlier posts indicated.  Boba will sell very well.

How about an unleashed Shmi?

Perhaps group Unleashed, Epic Force, Applause, and the Hasbro 10" vinyl figures together in one forum?

I like this suggestion.  sort of the non-12" big figs miscellaneous section.

Not a great picture, but it will do.  Gracias.  I had such a thing for her through the 80's.  Oy.

And that is my hope.  The way they suggested they are going to send them probably gives us better odds than a regular sealed case.  Of course, we have no idea exactly what is coming.  Lord help us if we end up with 24 Boba Fett.  :o

But how many of these will sell?

I just finished reading the 'what killed the deluxe' thread, come in here and go, hmm, Deluxe Ackbar?  Not bloody likely I'd buy it and I buy damn near everything.

The mains would sell - 3PO, R2, Chewie.  Lando's a stretch, IMO but could be good.  Stormie's could work as could Clonetroopers.  Any imperial with a helmet should sell well, so the DSG, Tie pilot, AT_AT driver (with cockpit?) would probably do well.  But so many of these guys don't lend themselves to either the sexy aspect (Leia, Padme) or the aggressive aspect (all the male characters).  Perhaps some of the female Jedi would lend themselves to unleashed figures, but how would they sell.

Actually, how is the line in general selling?  They are quite nice, but the price point is higher than comparable McFarlane figs (due nod to Carrie for pointing out the comparison).  It's tough for me to comment, as I've only ever seen Jango and Maul at retail.  Padme, Anakin and Vader I had through trades, but arrived here on clearance and the most recent 4 have never been seen in Canuckada, to the best of my knowledge (outside of comic shops).

Episode 1 / Re: What's your favorite vehicle?
« on: May 7, 2003, 12:09 PM »
As another astromech freak, I can relate.  But I was very fortunate, I only had to trade to current Saga figs to get the droid.  It wasn't minty fresh, but pretty good shape and that's quite a bargain for the droid alone.

The Starship would be cool to own, but I missed the clearance sale.  It weighs a ton and the shipping alone would cost a fair bit.

Hey, you got a blue and yellow Wolverine, what more do you want?   ;)

I think this version of Nightcrawler is nicer though than teh comic series.  Blue white and red was not that pretty really.  Still haven't picked up any of these yet.  Thinking about a new widescreen TV, so lots of toys would have to be passed up on.

JD Sports Forum! / Re: The NBA Playoffs
« on: May 7, 2003, 11:31 AM »
Matt.  Question time.

Do you think the NBA really actually calls all the fouls?  Ever?  In any game?  Remember, I'm old enough to recall when basketball was a non-contact sport.  It looks more and more like a rugby scrum all the time.

By the same token, 3 in the key; travel ball?  This is why I prefer college, they actually play by the rules of a game called basketball, rather than an entertainment program known as the NBA.

Don't worry though, the calls will be reversed when the series shifts out west.

It's just begging to be said guns don't kill people, people kill people.  I used to like to laugh at the US as the land where personal responsibility had no place.  Until Canada started doing the same.

I despise Walmart and basically only shop there prior to 8 AM.  No other Canadian retailer carries a decently priced (remember, we pay $12.99 plus 14% for Marvel Legends) toys with a marginal selection.  Prices at TRU suck and their selection is worse (this is a store that still has Homer Wave 1 on the pegs).

I buy toys there, and that's about it (well, maybe toilet paper).  I'll get my Maxim at 7-11.
