You should have seen all the stuff I wrote before I retyped it.  Ouch.  Still, I'm pretty annoyed by the process.

Matt, you have a PM and I guess entitlement to my second born (1st is too cute to give up).

US  online retailers that take my money happily:

Amazon (TRU)
Yestertoys
Entertainment Earth
NewForce
spawntoys.com
mcfarlane.com

I'll think of others.  I'm certain the sponsors of this site would too.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

KB cancelled my order.  Get this:  I used a US address for delivery.  Because my card has a billing address that is Canadian (well duh) they will not process my order.  Never mind the charges would have gone ahead just fine, but I cannot even order.

Oh, I am sorely tempted to be mr. POtty mouth right f****** now.   Grrrrrrr.

Can somebody here give me a hand with this.  Please.

Stoopid KB>

And, in the height of my own hypocrisy, I sent the following note to their customer service department:

Greetings,

just a note to say how remarkably dissappointed I am in KB.  That your system is automated is a pathetic excuse and you are, as such, eliminating a potential market in Canada of 30 million consumers.  That is indeed your choice to do so.

My greatest regret is that I filled out a remarkably positive survey that cannot be reversed.  whereas you received eights and nines on the surveys, it appears that your actual level of service (at least to non-Americans) merits scores more along the lines of ones and twos.

I have never had this problem in the past with various online retailers in the US.  Amazon happily takes my money (though like your organization, will not ship to Canada) as do numeorus other, smaller toy retailers.  Most of the smaller retailers will even ship to Canada, realizing it is just the country next door, not somewhere on another planet.

You can rest assured that I shall not darken the proverbial doorstep of KBtoys again, be it your online service or when I am visiting the United States.  You can also be comfortable in the knowledge that I shall relay this story to as many people as possible, both here and in the United States.  Congratulations on your extremely effective automated system.

Please, in future, when you send emails like you have to me, don't sign them sincerely.  If you were truly sincere, you would have made an effort to process the order.  The credit card is fully functional and works just fine.  The address given is valid and belongs to a friend in the US.

sincerely,

once a potential repeat customer, not so now

Conventions / Disney Star Wars Weekends
« on: April 24, 2003, 02:01 PM »
Ok, Disney + Star Wars = StarWars Weekend.

I've read the link.  Has anybody ever attended?  Do the descriptions given adequately describe what happens?

What about merchandise?  It lists pins, medallions, clothing, posters and "other collectibles" or something to that effect.  Just what would fall under that category?

Enlighten me (don't laugh, it is possible) please.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Your DVD Collection
« on: April 24, 2003, 12:53 PM »
Just picked up a copy of The New Guy used on DVD.  Eliza Dushku - rrrrrrowr.

Most of the rest of the collection is dominated by my wife's love of Disney movies (the only thing she collects).  Harry Potter, LOTR, SW are all there as well as Top Gun (1st DVD I owned) and a few others.  Maybe 100 total.

I used to, but not much anymore.  Job, outdoor interests, kid, wife - all take up time (all good too).

Oh the glory days of playing.  Pong was so cool.  And then it got upgraded so you could actually play doubles.  Sure, it was a bit tricky hooking wires up to the back of the TV and maybe you got a little electrocuted.  Had a bit of an effect on the screen too, but wasn't so noticeable cuz everything was black and white...

Uh, whoops.  Excuse me.

More recently, various versions of Links (LS, 2001) which actually proved helpful in learning how to read greens.  Aa few SW games, but older stuff, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter and others.  Nothing too new.

Have super nintendo.  Wife plays Mario games but I don't use it much.  Have the SW version, so do occasional pod racing, but my old eyes get too burned by looking at those graphics (crappy, IMO).  Perfect Dark is a hoot, but I only play it when my nephew is in town, so twice a year.  but those nights are great.  Much beer and bad food, lots of blood and guts.

Kubricks / Re: New Star Wars Kubricks...
« on: April 23, 2003, 12:57 AM »
They also have the mini Tomy dioramas.  Series two is figures, whereas series 1 was mostly ships.  Mostly.  They are really cool little things, about 2-2 1/2" tall.  Trick is you don't know what's in each box.  I got 7 originally from a friend in Japan and never got the droids.  I finally arranged a trade for them now.

Series 1 included:
X-wing
AT-AT with crashed snowspeeder
Millenium Falcon
R2-D2 and C3PO
Darth Vader and Stormtroopers

Series 2 includes:
Luke on Skiff
Han and Chewie
Yoda
Maul and Qui Gon
Boba Fett and Carbonite Solo

About the Kubricks, just keep me updated.  Unfortunately I am all to aware of the customs adventure we endure.

Oh sure, it won't be a sweep, but let's just dream of a role reversal and pretend the pups are on the same road as the ducks were in hockey.  It could happen and boy, would I enjoy it ;D

Sweet.  thanks Dale and Auriette.

If there is any savings to be had by ordering two cases, LMK and we can do it together.  If not, no worries, LMK how it goes and how to go about ordering said case.  Please.   Whoo-hoo!  Poor house, here I come.

Oh dear Carrie.  I'll need to get the bigger bubbles for that.  Snapping them little buggers just ain't as satisfying.

Better to be bubble wrap man than TBM.

Am I still allowed to post?  Only by the good graces of the lead admin, one would suspect.  Thanks Chris ;)  The cheque is in the mail (bubble wrapped, of course).

Testing, testing.  Is this thing on?  See you in a week :o

Hey now, I'm the Funniest Muskateer dag nabbit, so you better back off now!  Just ask chuckles (the Tallest Muskateer), he'll tell ya'!   :-*

Congrats again on your incredible bubble wrap score though...   ::)

Oh man, please don't shoot me with your Muskat dude.  I heard those things were dangerous.  As for the rest of the Musketeers, I have no doubt chuckles is the tallest, but aren't you the fattest Musketeer?  I thought we had proof of that? ;D
