Not really....that's one of the dumbest YTMNDs I've ever seen.

I know the thing is lame, but I found out that rebel_girl is darth_yaddle and warsman11.

Hopefully my comment in that thread hurt her feelings, but somehow I doubt it. :)

That's one of the dumbest things I've seen on the web period, and I've seen a lotta crap out there!

You've got to be kidding.  What happened??  You've always been so thoughtful and articulate in your posts, Alex, it's just hard to believe.

That sucks man.  >:(

I'm excited about the prospect of Futurama returning, but if it doesn't happen I'll be satisfied watching the old ones over and over (finally got some of the DVD's).

Whilte I like Family Guy very much, I just think Futurama is on another level.  I think Valin's right on the mark describing FG as "gag-driven".  That can get old after awhile, but Futurama seems to get better the more I watch it.  I also love the countless references to various sci-fi works.

One thing I like about Futurama compared to Simpsons and FG is that it sometimes (though rarely) gets really serious--almost depressing.  Remember the episode with Fry's fossilized dog?  The first time I saw that episode I was shocked at how intense it got.  Another example is the "Luck of the Fryish" episode.  That Breakfast Club music gets me every time :)

(Hope I didn't spoil anything for any Futurama newcomers.)

Well....

Here's the Gareth thread in question. The reason why no knows about it is beacuse, dispite the fact that almost all who got taken were in America, Jeremy desided that a thread in the feedback section was not needed and kept only the one thread opened in the Europe section where all the American forum members would natually look.

I could be wrong, but I think Gareth was coddled.

I actually followed that thread from the begninning (or close to it).  It appeared that Gareth was trading items he didn't yet have, weaving a tangled web that eventually came apart on him.  I remember several instances where members suggested he was being coddled, only to be shut down by the moderator, and I believe in once case even threatened with suspension.

Funny, I was thinking just the opposite.

$15 is WAY too much to spend on a 4" figure; die cast or not.

I hear ya Ruiner, but I guess I just regard these as something more than a simple 4" figure.  They strike me more as nice display pieces, and the addition of a display case alone seems to justify a little extra cost.  Plus, metal is obviously a lot more durable than plastic.  I dunno, a metal figure/statue in a nice display case seems like a good value for $15, but I admit it's hard to make a judgement until I actually see the thing in person.

On another subject, I dig your handle.  Was that inspired by the Nine Inch Nails song?

I too did not realize how awesome these would look.  There's no way I will be able to resist buying them if I see 'em in stores.  I think it's cool that Hasbro took a chance on something different.  To me $15 doesn't seem too expensive for what appears to be a very high quality collectible.  Can't wait to get my hands on these!

Hey TR1ER, welcome to JD.  I'm brand new myself and this seems like a great place.  I really like your customs!  That underwater clone with the trident is awesome.

See you around the boards!

Matt, what Target store are you hitting, finding all these goodies at?

Hey Kevin, it was a Target in Amherst, NY, but the last time I went there they'd been pretty much cleaned out.  I went in last Friday and saw the Tac Ops. plus other figures that had been pretty rare in my area--Dooku, Plo Koon, Padme, Shaak Ti and a few others.  I went back the very next day and only Shaak Ti and Aayla remained on the pegs!

Walmart has been pretty dead in my neck of the woods too, though I recently picked up an Anakin Unleashed on for $11.  It was mixed in with about a dozen Asajj's for the same price.

Like others have mentioned I've seen ROTS basic figurs at Target for $2.38, and had the good fortune to pick up 3 Tac Ops. figures at that price.  I've also seen the $28 Tie Fighters there.  I have not seen any Lava figures or Shadow Troopers on clearance in my area.

Hey Alex, good to see you at JD.  I'd welcome you but you registered before I did! :)  Actually, seeing your first post on these boards is partly what inspired me to join.

See you in the forums!

Hello all, my name is Matt I hail from the Hoth-like realm of Buffalo, NY.  This seems like a great community you have here!  I've been lurking for some time and decided I want to be a part of it.  I know some people here from RS and look forward to getting to know the rest of you.

Just a little about myself--I'm a longtime Star Wars fan but only began seriously collecting a few months ago.  I'm a fan of sci-fi, comics, and of course Megaman :)

See you in the forums.  Happy New Year!

-Matt
