I'm happy that Ivan lived long enough to see his son's Ghostbuster's movie.  I like to think he and Harold Ramis are sitting around and discussing how great that movie was right now.

A studio legend who believed in a young kid from Modesto and his silly space movie has passed. RIP to the great Alan Ladd Jr.

This one hurts.  Gilbert was so funny.  Go watch his bit on Hugh Heffner's celebrity roast...I almost pissed myself I was laughing so hard!

Gilbert was a comic who was just uproariously funny. I remember a story that Howard Stern stopped having him on his show because he was so funny that it started to make Howard look nowhere near as funny as Gilbert.  And his version of “The Aristocrats” is simultaneously one of the most vulgar and funny things I’ve ever heard.

He was definitely much more than just that.  I remember seeing him one night in NYC.  Not on stage, but with his wife, pushing a stroller with one of his kids near Bryant Park.  It seemed at odds with his on stage persona, but it was sweet to see him in that setting.  And his podcast was fantastic. He was such a fan of classic films, and had a voluminous knowledge of movies.

Rest easy, Gilbert.

Just read the news that Colin Cantwell has passed.  He was one of the model designers for Star Wars among plenty of other movies.

My friends over at Collection Wars recently did an interview with his partner Sierra.  You can watch that interview here.

I always liked his work. How sad. Mob movies just won't be the same without him.
