My mom is on like 20 pills right now for different stuff, High Blood Pressure, Allergies, Blood Thinner, Pain etc
I'm pretty lucky compared to her, I only have to take allergy stuff...thanks to my fiancee's stupid cat! Anyone else have to take pills?

Use clorophorm to knock out the cat, and put it in a garbage bag, and bury it underneith the porch. No one has to know. :-*

I only take pills when I need to, or if I see a bunny with a pancake on it's head.

I take a pill for my Acne.Thats it.

I take a pill for my Acne.Thats it.
If it's accutane, it works wonders. I was fortunate (unfortunate?) enough to be one of the grand test subjects, way back in the day. About 20 years later, no side effects.
And no, at my ripe old age, no drugs. Not yet.
-
Excedrin migraine, for when the right side of my head feels like it's on fire.
-
I take Excedrine Migraine too, as I've had migraines for most of my life. Oddly enough, it's the only thing that works for me, even better than prescriptions (tried them all).
I take protonyx too for my stomach. I have pretty much shot it to hell at this point.
Beyond that I just take vitamins because of my overall health, as it's supposed to help me. Can't say I agree that it does, but whatever.
Chewable vitamin C rocks all. MMmmmmmmm Ever eat Flintstones Vitamins? Good stuff.
-
I jsut wish that the Excedrine Migraine would help with the nausea that comes with some migraines.
-
Excedrin Migraine is Extra Strength Excedrin in different packaging. Just a heads up.
And yes, Excedrin is the only cure for headaches.

As do I. I just started taking it recently, and, I must say, it's been working wonders. :)

Same here. I too was a lab rat on this stuff, but it worked out pretty good. Only downfall for me was that I was getting extremely ill toward the last few months of treatment. And to this day I have the worst dry skin and any amount of bright sunlight can have quick damaging effects on my skin. But its been almost 20 years and Im still kicking.
-
BTW, chalk me up on once taking acutane. My mother's side of the family has bad skin as a trait, and I spent a lot of my high school years with bad skin.
I took acutane, even though I was opposed to what it could do to me. Even with discomfort that came from it (dry, like it's been winter for 3 years dry, skin), I was much pleased with the results. It works, so keep up with it even though it's harsh stuff. You'll be a happier person for it.
I still don't have flawless skin, but now it's just a matter of me keeping on top of it rather than me just simply accepting it, and not to sound pompous but I am pretty damn happy with how I look.
About the Excedrine Migraine (and Migraine's in general), I agree Nick... I get hangover nauseated as well from them. I take a pill, and offhand I can't recall the name of it now. If I find out I'll post it, but I don't take it often since I've got the headaches under better control. I actually have taken this pill after a hangover, which I shouldn't have done but it worked.
I take a pill for vertigo too, as it's part of something to do with my health... I really am bad with pill names and forget them often, but I don't take any of these routinely except the Protonyx and Excedrine... Beyond that it's only on a when-I-need-to basis.
-
I used to take acne medication, but haven't needed to for about five years now.
I pop painkillers on a twice-daily basis, keeping my head and body aches in check. I'm probably addicted to them now. ::)
-
Well, unlike the Surgery thread where i bragged about not going under the knife only to get stricken down days later, I knew this one was coming...
I got prescribed Nexium yesterday, its an acid blocker for Reflux problems. I had some tests done last week and I guess I have a raging case of it and it is probably the cause of my swallowing problems. So...pills for the rest of my life ::)
-
Heh. Now I do! Got me a fat pile of Vicodin, to go along with some Cipro (antibiotic), for my appendectomy recovery... Cipro runs out tonight, but I've got enough Vicodin to keep me feeling funky for a few weeks! :P Trying not to hit that stuff too hard though. Usually just when I go to bed at night so I can roll around without too much pain.
Anyone else?
-
Latley...ibuprofen.
I have a sore throat, and it seems to be the only thing that helps the pain aspect of it.
The coughing on the other hand... :-\

I hoarded my Vicodin to the point where I have 5 or 6 left. Might come in handy someday
to sell on eBay in case I have some severe back pain or something

Ha! I do the same thing. I've still got about 20 or so left and also have some liquid codeine. Whenever I have a cold and am feeling awful, a vicodin takes away the achiness and really helps me sleep. The liquid codeine has come in handy also for coughs and sore throats. There should be a way to get mini-prescriptions for this stuff for those one or two times a year when colds/flu really knock the wind out of me.
-
I don't take any pills now but had to have Vicodin when
I someone else broke my hand. I took one the first day I got them and it was the last one I took since it made me sick to my stomach. I decided that the pain would be better then having to go through being sick especially since I was working with this broken hand for a few months without knowing it.

Geez, that sounds pretty bad. Did you know that 70% of all migraines originate in the TMJs? Believe it or not, a TMJ dental specialist in all likelihood will be able to definitively treat you for this. Unless you're in the 30% that has some other origin. Tell your dentist about these headaches at your next visit, see what he/she says.
-
Aspirin. And I don't even like taking that.
I had some serious pain meds for when I broke my leg in three places a few years ago (the kind of meds pharmacies won't refill on weekends because they're considered "party drugs" :o ), but I didn't like taking them. I preferred to know how I was really doing rather than feeling no pain and causing even more injury.
Anyone need a bottle? 8)
-
Sounds like we've got a bunch of people here that are hopped up on goofballs.
I take Advil once in a while if I get a headache, but that's pretty rare. Back when I played lacrosse taking 800mg of Advil was my post-game ritual, but otherwise I hate taking medicine unless I have to

I'm sure they're expired by now.
While its not a pill, I do take a twice daily Flovent inhaler for asthma. I hate having something that I have to have with me all the time, but its better than not breathing...because I know that sucks.
-
The only upside to having a root canal is the amount of Vicodin they prescribe for you. Ahhhh, the greatness of vicodin..!
-
High Blood Pressure medication :'(

I started this recently, and I've had pretty good results. Now I don't hit the Albuterol inhaler every 4 hours like I was doing. My asthma has always come and gone, so that for years I didn't need anything, but now I have to have an inhaler with me all the time. It makes it a b*tch to exercise, because even before I get hot or sweaty, I can't breathe. And forget running outside, I couldn't even last a quarter mile.
Also, I would take Allegra, but insurance won't cover it now because there is a similiar over the counter medicine. Unfortunately, it is drastically inferior to Allegra, and I can't even notice any effects.

I take 20 MG of Lexapro, it makes me slightly happier.
