The Legacy Collection / Re: Yknow what I find kinda shocking?

I was absolutely sure they would too, and I think it would have been a great static-posed Ben.  I guess in hindsight I actually prefer the soft goods version when the cloak is futzed with and hot glued in spots like I did here:

The Legacy Collection / Re: Legacy Collection Battle Packs

I can't imagine the great reception and subsequent sales of the Yavin pack will have Hasbro abandon the mini vehicles.  Anton alone is supporting this pack  :P.  How great would it be to get an Echo Base cart and a couple troopers!

Still haven't found one, but I love how quickly it's selling!  Surely that will make it back to Hasbro, that a quality new pack sells better than repacks, and to collectors, no less!

The Legacy Collection / Re: Recent Legacy Purchases

Darn- the Metairie Target had 2 Jabba BPs and the other one, but no Yavins, and the Madisonville Target is still rockin' the BoMarr assault BP.  No ESB wave to speak of either.  (Sorry- this is supposed to be recent purchases, not failures  :P)

We discussed this a bit in the Legacy not selling well thread, but I thought it would be a good separate topic.  I say this having been one of the first people to suggest themed waves back then, and being thrilled that they happened.  But now, with all 3 PT films out and Hasbro's new fetish with EU, I find myself waiting half a year at a time for an OT themed wave.  Since filling out a themed wave inevitably adds less desirable future pegwarmers, why not return to non-themed waves that would feature more desirable characters from across all sources?  If I could get a couple OT characters every month or month and a half, I think I'd prefer it over getting an entire wave every 5 or 6 months.  Not to mention, in the same wave we could get an Ackbar and Bom Vimdin, or an Echo base trooper and a new Weequay.  And that's just OT suggestions!  You guys who buy all characters could get your scenes or themes built slowly but surely.  And no film or scene would get knocked out in just one wave (like a Dagobah-themed wave for example).

I think the best idea I've read so far is a return to non-themed waves.  I'd love a couple OT characters every single wave for sure, instead of waiting months through PT and EU waves to sell through.  I wouldn't mind trading for the BAD parts I'd need, either.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What do you drive?

I don't think I've mentioned mine yet, but I drive a silver 2006 Mercury Milan.  I really like it, and it has good mileage for the type of car it is.  The body is almost identical to the Ford Fusion (or is it Focus?  I always forget which).

I LOVE the sound of $5 figures; I'm going to pass by K-Mart but I don't have high hopes for my particular store.

This was a good episode as usual, but I thought the Derek event was too sudden and not dramatic enough.  I did really feel for John, though, seeing as how his girlfriend, father figure, and uncle all got affected by his existence.  You could tell he was holding back the tears.

You guys may have seen this, but this was my modification of the existing one.

I think that's real.  There was one near the school I teach that did the same thing about a month ago, but all they had were some Yarnas and a few others.

I just started the first "Lost Dragonlance Chronicles" by Weis and Hickman.  I was a huge fan of the original Dragonlance Chronicles, and even moreso of the Dragonlance Legends trilogy.  Once they moved on into their kids' stories, I lost interest, but with a return to the original characters, I'm there!

I could picture something like the MOTU Classics line (except hopefully not as highly priced) where you could buy 3-4 VOTC styled figure each month from HTS.  It probably wouldn't be ideal for everyone, but I could see that sort of avenue for "premium" figures - which is what VOTC was originally supposed to be.

I like that idea, too, but what scares me about the Hasbro mindset is that if it isn't supported greatly by retail stores, they dump it.  Look at IJ: the TOD wave could easily have been offered in great quantity online (from Hasbro) for the collector interest, but they had a hissy fit since the line itself didn't sell that well, and pulled out of production of the line.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Target Jabba's Palace Rancor with Luke

Got mine yesterday from Target.com; wow, it's incredible to see the difference between this one and the POTF2 one!  The paintjob is superb (though I find the tan drybrushing to be a little more than expected; there probably should be a little more brown there).

I'm going to check TRU tomorrow, when I pass in the vicinity of one, because I wouldn't mind 40% off an Endor bunker BP (which I waited on).  Wouldn't that make it about $13?
