I thought we could start a business thread where we could discuss news (or issues) that pertain to business either domestically or globally.
Let's start with the big news of the week:
Google Buys Youtube for $1.65B (http://blogs.zdnet.com/micro-markets/index.php?p=522)
$1,650,000,000 for a company that has yet to post a profit in it's six year history?
Is this economy ready for a second dot com craze? Will it burst like it did several years ago?

You know the really interesting part of this, I heard Mark Cuban say he wouldn't touch YouTube with a ten foot pole because there is way too much liability with all of the copyright happening there
-
You're right, but he actually said whoever buys Youtube is an idiot. Maybe he's jealous?
Mark Cuban Quote (http://yahoo.reuters.com/news/articlehybrid.aspx?storyID=urn:newsml:reuters.com:20060928:MTFH82125_2006-09-28_20-09-28_N28230044&type=comktNews&rpc=44)
It's like a poker game, when you're the one with the most chips, it's easier to make big bets and take everyone out.
Just ask Jamie Gold. 8)

Actually the reason behind Cuban's statement is that he owned a similar company to YouTube (Broadcast.com) and sold it for 1.5 billion dollars, then the company was acquired by Yahoo.
In essense, Broadcast.com went knockers up but he still made the big cake from the deal... thus his "idiot" comment.

I just got back from doin' my business. Know what I mean? ;)

Courtesy flush? ;)

Float or sink?

Yikes.
Sorry, gang, I think "doin' business" must be a euphemism for something to do with the bathroom.
I had no idea.
