Now that our little "waiting period" has passed, I can now let everyone know that my wife and I are expecting our first child in July. We finally told our families over Christmas, after waiting awhile to make sure everything was going ok. Its been a bit of a stressful year (2006) for our family, so it was nice to end it with some good news. We're really excited, and I just wanted to share the news with all of the great people and friends here at JD.

Congrats! That is really exciting news Brian!
I can tell you from all the first hand experience I've gained over the last year, that you are in for the ride of your life. ;)

Congratulations, Bri'!! All the best to you and Mrs. mosnab in the coming months... Good luck, and get some sleep while you still can!

Congrats, Brian. Be prepared for the hardest yet most satisfying "job" you'll ever have.
Any idea of gender (or don't you want to know)?

Fantastic news Brian, congratulations to Mrs. mosnab and you. Diaper run = toy run ;)

Congrats Brian way to start your own legacy

Congratulations Brian.

Congrats Brian to you and your wife, that is great news! Brent nailed it, you now can go on toy runs much more frequently...PLUS...you can pull out the "Oh, these are for the baby when it grows up" Card.
-
Congratulations to you and your wife Brian -- what a blessing! You're in for the greatest adventure of your life. :)

Thanks so much for the kind words everyone. We're definitely excited, and things are going to be changing for sure. We don't know the gender yet, but we can (and will) be finding out in a couple months at the next ultrasound. I've already been playing the "these are for the baby when it grows up" card, but it doesn't seem to be sticking to well yet :P. Thanks again everyone, such great people here at JD.

I think you mean especially if it's a girl, right Matt?
:-*
I can't think of a guy around here that would make a better father than you, Brian. Lucky kid you'll have there...
-
Congrats Brian, and obviously Matt is a too common name... Jesse on the other hand... Hey there's only two of us here, I'm just saying. *whistles innocently*
Congratulations though man, and a really happy new year for you!

Just a quick update - our daughter Jayma Mylynn was born on Tuesday night at 11:25 PM. She weighed in at 9 lbs 12 oz (yikes!) and was 20 1/2 inches long. Mom and baby are both doing good.

Yikes indeed! :o
Glad to hear that Mom and baby (and Dad too ;)) are doing well and everything went smoothly.
Big Congrats and get some rest when you can! :)

Sounds like mama is going to need a little extra R&R. I hope you saved the receipts on the newborn clothes, 'cause the baby's going to need the 3-month size soon ;)

Great news Brian! Congratulations-now PICTURES PLEASE!!!

Congrats Brian!

Great news Brian, congratulations to the whole family.
Some advice, since I have a daughter and this always applies:
1. you don't have a bathroom. Deal with it.
2. rather than worrying about one prick, you have to worry about all of them (crude, I know)
3. the key phrase to remember for Jayma's boyfriend(s) is I'm not afraid to go back to prison >:(
;)

I'll join in on the heartfelt congrats to you and the new family. She certainly was a big girl, give an extra congrats to the Mrs!! Welcome to the wonderful world of fatherhood, the most exciting time you'll ever have :)

That's about the same size as my niece when she was born. Congratulations Brian to you and your family!
