Jayson has been hinting at these for some time and the images have finally been posted on Yakface.
Stormtrooper (https://yakfaceforums.com/main/2020/09/24/6-imperial-stormtrooper-holiday-edition/)
Range Trooper (https://yakfaceforums.com/main/2020/09/24/6-tbs-range-trooper-holiday-edition-revealed/)
I believe he talked about three different ones, so there might be another revealed soon.
Jayson states the responses he is seeing on Twitter are mostly positive.
I'm positive that I'll be passing on these.
-
I believe he talked about three different ones, so there might be another revealed soon.
At one point he dug up a Holiday Trooper 5 (https://yakfaceforums.com/main/2020/06/16/rumor-report-6-tbs-holiday-troopers/) listing at Walmart so maybe there could be as many as 5 of these things coming this Winter/Christmas.
The "Ugly Sweater" Trooper w/SnowPorg is pretty goofy, but I actually do like Range Trooper Santa with Rudolph D-0. I don't like it enough to spend $25 on it, but it did make me laugh/smile. :)
-
Is that Vibro Axe all new??
These are so weird it almost seems like some kind of April Fools joke.
I’m in though. ;D
-

Range Santa's weapon is one of the SDCC 6" Sith Trooper (https://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=24970.0) weapons.
"Ugly Sweater" Trooper weapon looks like it might be a modified version of the Amazon 6" Elite Praetorian Guard Heavy Blade (https://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=24593.0).
-
I just can’t.....
-
I'll buy what I see. Certainly won't lose my mind they're capitalizing on some Christmas / Star Wars combo.

Confirmed on PulseCon that there are five different ones.
-
I've collected all the 6" stuff to date including variations, but this is an easy pass for me.
Tinted chrome versions of the same figure to match the artwork or a different color scheme? I'm in.
Slight variation on the holster pins or chin paint? I'm in.
Combining Imperial Troopers with the Christmas Holiday? I'm out.
-
In the past I liked some of the holiday 3.75" offerings. Especially the ones that were based on the old Lucasfilm Christmas card art. I still have some of those and they have some charm. But the concept wore off a little bit with the red candy-coated looking Darth Vader.
Watching the livestream it seemed clear that *MAYBE* not everyone on the Hasbro Star Wars team was on board with this concept. I could sense a person or two struggling to hold back the snark. For me? I really dislike those tacky Christmas sweaters. And seeing that translated to figures just didn't do anything for me.
-

Yeah, I think Patrick had a forced smile the whole time these were talked about. And the comment about the AT-AT sweater design being original can't be true, I've seen advertisements for a similar one on social media.
-
These were an easy hard pass for me. Kinda ridiculous.
-
I get passing on them. I don't get the vitriol. It's five figures at Christmas time (kinda). It's not an ongoing subline. Some one is buying them. I bought an Amazon one and will buy others if I happen across them. Easy money for Hasbro.
-
And of course I do get some people's vitriol. It's not their cup of tea so how dare Hasbro!
-
And of course I do get some people's vitriol. It's not their cup of tea so how dare Hasbro!
I don't feel strongly enough about this sub-line to elevate it to the level of vitriol.
I just don't like these. And if someone does? Great. They're just not for me.
As far as where do I think these fit in the context of The Black Series? To me they don't really align to the style Hasbro pitched for this range of 6" figures from the outset. And it almost seems like this stylization is some of the Disney kitsch aesthetic creeping into the Black Series.
-
I don't mean to imply if you don't like these you're in that boat of hating everything that isn't to your taste. I'm more reacting to people that are acting like this line is outrageous.
I will say I don't get your comment about what they pitched the Black Series line as. I imagine they want to make as much profit as they can so again a 5 figure line at Xmas is what it is
-
Well, that's the internet for you! People just LOVE to overreact. It's become a spectator sport.
Regarding the style of the Black Series? I look back to one of the first articles (https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2013/01/29/hasbro-star-wars-black-series-action-figure-toys/1872035/) that was written about the line when it was launched in 2013:
"Our focus here is the adult collector, the dad," DePriest says. "We know they have their own generation of youngsters they like to share the adventure with. It can be something for dad, and the 3¾ world can be something for the kids to share."
-
Amazon Holiday Stormtrooper is available again for Preorder if anyone missed out the first time around, like me. ;D
-
Finally got my hands on one of these this weekend when my GameStop order showed up early. Goofy for sure but I really kind of like these. I’ve always been a sucker for weird color variants and prototypes etc.
Also got a “preorder is imminent” email from Best Buy so that one should be on the way soon too. :)
-
These are... weird, but I don't hate them THAT much. Unfortunately I have got to cut back somewhere, which makes these perfectly skippable.
-
Didn’t feel like going out today but I just ordered the Target holiday trooper off their website with the Free PickUp in store option, and with the 25% off Circle deal it was less than $20! :)
Tomorrow is my birthday, so I will pick it up then. Happy birthday to me!
-
I am trying to figure out what clearance price would be tempting enough for me to buy any of these. Would you buy them for $10 or $5? I might be tempted to pick one up at $5 just for parts or customizing some day.

I've thought that same thing. If I found one for 50% off would I buy it? Probably not. 70% off? Maybe.

Saw one of these at Apple Valley Target today next to two R4s. Equally unimpressive in person.

I disagree. I think it's a fun set. Now that being said not enough to pay $25 apiece for all of them.

I believe you said you might pick one up for $5 to customize. I like them more than that. Bought Target's. Have Amazon's on pre order and will skip the rest because Hasbro has been crazy lately hence my disagreement.....

I see. I'm not willing to come close to full price for any of these, but might scoop them up for $5-8 on clearance. Almost hope I don't find them for that. They're interesting, but Star Wars and Christmas mashed together just feels odd to me.

It is odd. I think it's so odd and so gaudy that I like it. But I'm not surprised at all that they aren't for everyone. And I'm betting you will be able to find them for 70% off.

Are you guys ready for more frustration trying to track down another round of exclusive 6" Holiday Repaint/Kitbash Figures (https://yakfaceforums.com/main/2021/11/04/tbs-rumor-report-black-series-holiday-figure-now-in-walmart-system/)? Jayson's saying Amazon and Walmart each have one for sure, maybe more. :-X

I'm ready to pass on them like I did last year, unless of course they make something a lot more interesting than they made last year, but I'm assuming these will be like last years and I'll pass.
-
I bought a couple last year and will do same this year.
I'm excited to listen to the people who hate these yet will be angry they could only pre order 4 of the 6.
-
I honestly can’t remember how hard it was rounding these up last time. I know I ended up getting all of them eventually and I don’t think I had to resort to eBay. They were fun and goofy and I’ll certainly pick up any new ones they decide to put out.

I passed last year and will pass again this year… except for that white Wookiee. That’s different enough to be cool, and can fit in as a “normal” Wookiee too.
-
I still personally would rather have these as Christmas decorations than just another Hallmark Yoda ornament hanging from my tree.
But when are these going to be available? It's Dec. 15th right? Are we pre ordering for 2022?
-
The Wookiee wins. As for everything else? Pass.
I'm still trying to grasp one thing - troopers as something festive for the holidays? Oh, yeah. Nothing says Christmas cheer like the jackbooted, faceless thugs of the Empire decked out in festive holiday colors. That says Christmas to me!
-
I passed on all these last year, but I'd probably get the Fett and the Scout Trooper if I can get them for a deal.
-
Is it just me or does the Wookie look like the Bumble???
-
Is it just me or does the Wookie look like the Bumble???
Pretty sure he was designed to look like Bumble.
-
I can’t stop hearing Billy Idol screaming in my head “it’s a nice day for a…White Wookie!” ;D
I am a dope and love all of these, I’m all in…
-
I'm with McMetal. I'll buy target's and Amazon's and the Wookie from wherever
-
Is it just me or does the Wookie look like the Bumble???
It's Tojjevvuk (https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Tojjevvuk)!!!!

Some updated info from Jayson (https://yakfaceforums.com/main/2021/12/16/2021-black-series-holiday-edition-images-and-details/):
"Target – Mandalorian Warrior
Walmart – Scout Trooper
Best Buy – Protocol Droid
Amazon – Wookiee
GameStop – First Order Stormtrooper
The first three I’m pretty certain of but the last two may flip flop, be assigned to different retailers or some retailer may get more than one. Whatever the case, they should run about $27 each – no official word on a release date."

Thanks Jeff. Guess I won't be getting the Scout Trooper then since Walmart figures are still impossible to find.
-
I may actually pick up the Wookiee as he seems like a pretty different design, and might be easier to get from Amazon.
Pass on the rest.
-
Did any of these end up showing up anywhere??? Are we going to get Christmas repaints for Valentines Day?
-
Let's not give the Hasbro team any ideas.
-

I was wondering the same thing. Haven't seen any sign of people finding them at retail or even preorders. I thought maybe I misunderstood and they were planned for next Christmas...
-
I thought maybe I misunderstood and they were planned for next Christmas...
These were definitely planned for this Christmas, but the shipping fiasco screwed them getting these into the USA before Christmas.
Jayson says some of these have started to hit Hasbro warehouses stateside now (and some have turned up at some of those scalper shops that "find" things early from contacts at the ports), so it'll be interesting to see what they do. Are Target/Amazon/Walmart going to want a new Christmas item now? Will they try a "Christmas in July" type thing for con season on Pulse this summer? Are they willing to just sit on the product so it's ready for next November?
No one really knows, especially since Hasbro never even officially announced/revealed them in the first place.
-
I guess that is the challenge with seasonal themed items.
If a case of regular Bo-Katan figure is 8 weeks late it doesn't really matter, but I'm sure the retailers don't want Christmas stuff in February.

I was a “pass” a year ago and am now a “hard pass”.
-
What’s with the Clone Trooper? Is the color a tribute to Mr Hanky, the Christmas Poo???
-
He's a Gingerbread Man...
-
I feel like the Clone Deco is a pretty close match to the Geonosis color scheme, so may be worth getting a few of him.

Was it ever actually In Stock? As much as people complain about these things I would be irritated if it really sold out that fast.

Yes, it was. Not sure if it "sold out" or if someone realized it wasn't supposed to be active yet...
edit:
It is now after 1pm ET (when it was supposed to go live) and it is still showing out of stock. :-\

Its surprising to me that these holiday repaints keep getting made, year after year. I thought they were marginally cute at first, but now it just seems overdone, greedy, and lame. (Sorry to those that will buy these year in an year out and love them - not just for completism)
-
Even Transformers are getting the holiday love (albeit not a repaint, afaik) with Frankentron.

Wow, that is weird AF. :D
Cool idea though, would like to see what they could do with the Bride or Creature.
