Announced via pipeline reveal at today's Hasbro Star Wars livestream...
2024 X-Wing Pilot Troop Builder 4-Pack
I wonder if this set is four generic pilots or if it will be like the Imperial Officer/Hoth Trooper sets where there was two generic and two 'named' figures.
So many possibilities... Carson Teva? Trapper Wolf? Some of the Rogue One pilots?

The word "grunts" was used in the stream, I think to specifically address the complaints about the Tusken Chief and Enoch in recent sets.
-
I think the "grunts" concept gets back to the origins of the troop builder 4-pack concept. There's been a good 4 sets within the past year+ that have had named characters that a good number of people thought should have been released on their own cardback.
I'm curious to see how they execute this. Will the pilots just be in the orange flightsuits? Or will there be a mix, incorporating the blue flightsuits that were seen in ROGUE ONE? But then the photo that was used in the pipeline reveal has the pilots wearing their cold weather / snowspeeder pilot gear. Because we all love to nitpick!
-
With the image shown, are we getting them in Hoth gear?

Like assless orange flight suits, or what are you thinking? ;D
-
I've always thought the snowspeeder pilot cold-weather-gear was a bit funny. I'm pretty sure Hoth is still warmer than space, and a regular flightsuit should be plenty warm enough...

I've been on this site long enough for all of you to know I can't type worth a ****. :)

TVC X-Wing Pilots Trooper Builder 4-Pack
--- 2x alien pilots, 2x human pilots (all generic made-up characters)
--- mostly based on the look of the New Republic pilot suits from Ahsoka
Press pics coming soon...

Generic alien & human mixed pilots? Love it. I'm down for 2-3 sets for some headswaps. Hopefully they do a few more of these with new heads/aliens and some other named pilots from the movies.
I also appreciate the new art added to the top-panels of Troop-Builder pack boxes. I love the simple aesthetic on these sets.
-
I almost wish they would have made this a bonus 4-pack and included a bunch of different bonus heads, helmets, etc. where they encouraged you to buy three packs and mix and match.
-
I wish they’d focus on actual specific pilots and soldiers and such for these packs. I never know where to file them away onto the shelves.
I’m overseas this week and couldn’t follow along. I see that it says “inspired by Ahsoka” - are they pilots seen in the series?
-
are they pilots seen in the series?
In the fanstream they said they are all "generic" and inspired by the New Republic X-Wing pilot suits in Ahsoka.
The fact they skipped Trapper Wolf or Carson Teva in this set has me hoping that there will be some kind of carded TVC releases for those two...
-
I like the fact that they're generic so you could buy multiple packs if you wanted to fill out a hangar scene or whatever.
Agreed, I'm hopeful that we will finally get a carded Trapper Wolf and Carson Teva with a cost effective kitbash.

You can pose them all standing around staring jealously at the upcoming New Republic E-Wing and Pilot I suppose. :P
Saying that, I'm now wondering if they'd do a repaint X-Wing with New Republic deco'd and pack-in Carson Teva? It's been a few years since they offered that $110 RO Blue Leader X-Wing set at Target.

Just got an email that this one’s delivery date is now December 2.
-
And now it's November 4...
-
Same
I know its just a bot that is sending these updates, but when its months and months out, I really don't care if its Dec 2 or Nov 4.

Same here, but I've read complaints about people who budget their toy expenses and when something comes in early, it messes it up for them.
-
Yeah me either. I'm good enough that some toys piling up doesn't mean I can't pay my mortgage. Honestly I feel like if you're cutting it so close that preorders mess you up that much you might want to consider getting out of toy collecting anyway.
-
This is just another weird conversation to me. My mortgage is paid just fine every month. It's still nice to have a general idea how many things are hitting at one time. So thank you Amazon for the updates even if I'm sure the date will change again.
And even if someone is living on a tighter budget, who cares what "enjoyment" things they choose to buy. Having specific release dates would be very helpful for them to not irresponsibly spend some month
-
Fair enough. I just consider toy collecting superfluous and it would be the first thing to go if it was ever causing financial stress. You're right though in the sense that other people's budgeting is none of my business. In the past I've gotten annoyed when Gentle Giant would have 6 months with almost nothing then 5 mini-busts ship all at the same time, so yeah I suppose I get it.
-
And now it's November 4...
And now it's "Soon" :)
Just got the email from Pulse that this is shipping soon.
-
Received the obligatory "you have now paid for this" e-mail from Hasbro Pulse.
-
Looks like I pre-ordered from Amazon so I guess I hope these hit there pretty soon now too (Amazon is still showing a November delivery date).

My Pilot sets arrived today. I'll never say no to some Rebel pilot figures. I'm digging the Duros pilot. I wish they would have tweaked the female pilot base slightly, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with the set.
-
I just opened my set of Rebel pilots. It's definitely a good set. I like the alien likenesses - the Mirialan looks great, and the Duros is even better. The only criticism I have with the Duros is that the only blaster I was able to fit in his hand was the DH-17, and I had to manipulate the index finger in order to fit it in the trigger guard. I couldn't get the DL-44 to work for him. But I think it was a good choice to offer only blaster pistols in this set - even if we did see New Republic X-Wing pilots using rifles when they rescued Mando from the ice spiders on Maldo Kreis.
The pilot buck seems to work with all of these pilots regardless of gender. And it seems like the helmets are interchangeable across all of the pilots. So if you want the human pilots to have Rebellion sigils on their helmets instead of NR? It's totally doable.
Looking forward? I cannot help but think that the Duros head indicates that Hasbro is looking to make other Duros figures in the future - likely for the Cantina. Will Hasbro use this same pilot buck for some named pilots from the OT? I would like to see Hasbro revisit Biggs Darklighter and Garven Dreis. Wedge is already in TVC, but dates back to 2011, IIRC. And Theron Nett would be cool, too, but I don't know if he merits a carded release when slots in the mainline are so precious.
-
Got this set over the weekend... it's fine. But I really wish they'd have just made actual pilots from the movies.
-
Yeah, it's a weird choice to give us random human New Republic X-Wing pilots, but none of them are the actual NR X-Wing pilots we've seen in The Mandalorian Universe shows - Carson Teva, Trapper Wolf (Dave Filoni), Jib Dodger (Rick Famuyiwa), Sash Ketter (Deborah Chow).
I guess maybe they are saving Trapper and Carson for carded releases but at the rate they're going we don't have room for them in the carded line for a long while...
-
Looks like I pre-ordered from Amazon so I guess I hope these hit there pretty soon now too (Amazon is still showing a November delivery date).
Got charged today for these - Amazon says they will be here Thursday. Looking forward to checking them out finally..
-
I got mine from Amazon today. I've already got a bazillion different X-Wing pilots, but this is still a nice set.
-
Chiming in her a couple months after the fact; however, I got this set back at the beginning of September, but didn’t open it until earlier this week after I received the new E-Wing. They are great figures and I’m actually glad to have some generic New Republic pilots not representing any specific characters. I also like how they’re the new style of pilot body that’s a little thinner, highly articulated, and easier to fit in most cockpits. My only gripe is I wish they’d included a holster accessory for the blasters made a distinctly female body for the two female pilots - kind of like what was done in some of those pilot battle packs way back during the Legacy Collection days. Still, I can never seem to get enough pilot figures, so this was definitely a great set 8)

On sale for less than $40 on Amazon today -> https://amzn.to/3y7QiFG
Not bad army building for $10 each.
-
Nice, I'll take another. Especially w/ Carson Teva coming out soon.
-
I grabbed one at that price... I feel like I have enough spare parts laying around for some easy head swaps.
