If you weren't collecting Star Wars merchendise, what would you wind up spending your money on?
I myself would have a bigger CD collection and more DVD's.
-
DVDs, Books, and Gadgets. I love me some gadgets. ;D
-
DVDs, Video Games, possibly other toylines, LEGO sets, and other miscellaneous junk.
-
I would probally spending some of the money on DVD's the rest I would save for a house. I'm planning to start saving money for that reason, buying a house, so that in the near future I can get a house of my own.
-
I'd buy video games, CD's, and DVD's. And my room would look a WHOLE lot different too. :P
-
Well I would definately have more video games, dvds, and cds, but most importantly I would actually have a computer that works.
-
I'd drive a newer car and a nice Sea-Doo as well.
-
It would be something else that's superfluous that's for sure... I buy star wars as a hobby, an extra. I would never put it before home ownership or anything like that.
So, probably some other toy line... I'm also considering buying a complete Edo Period suit of Samurai Armor - I'd probably already have that.
-
I bought myself some highlights today, those are costly- I could have bought around 14 action figures (on sale)...
I also bought some clothes- 15 action figures...
oh well... life moves on and have to look cute for Spring...
-
My free spending money all goes to Star Wars... I probably might get a few vintage GI JOE things here and there, but not much. I'd have thousands of extra dollars in my savings account probably... or at least a new car.
:P

Novels. Lots and lots of novels.
I loves me some novels.
And DVD's too. Although Episode 2 and Spider-Man were the first DVD's given to me...

Well depending on the context of the question, if there was no modern SW to buy, I'd be buying vintage SW. If there was no SW at all, I'd probably be buying CDs, DVDs, and/or video games. Always something to spend your money on... :-\
-
McFarlane Sportpicks and PORN. :P

Hmm... If I wasn't buying Star Wars stuff, I could probably afford to buy ourselves a nice mansion instead. :-[
But on the "collectibles" side of things, I guess I'd probably revert back to my vintage baseball card collecting ('50s & '60s), which I have laid off of since the early 90's. Might start dabbling in model railroading again too.
I'd probably pick up the pace on the CDs and DVDs as well, but since those are usually being bought concurrently with the SW swag, that's nothing too noteable, I guess.
I'd also delve back into vintage SW (if that's separate enough in this case to still be around).
I'm sure my wife would definitely love the idea of SW going away for a while though... ;)

Well i'd probably have more money in the bank , i'd also have my Nissan 350Z
And i'd still be buying other toys - Stikfas, StreetFighter, odd McFarlane piece oh and my Clerks inaction stuff.
-
Pay off debts. Student loans, car, home.
I'd probably have nicer skis, and an extra set of fatties for powder days. And a season pass at a nicer resort.
Newer computers and computer electronics type stuff. Color laser printer, 11x17 duplex. Bleeding edge tech stuff. Home audio for the TV.
All the unfinished projects around the house finished. A new yard. A fence.
Unfortunately, I'd need to not buy Star Wars AND get two additional full time jobs to pull off even a fraction of that list.
-
I'd most likely be buying more DVD's and such. Definitely not toys. I would also have a larger interest in cars.
-
I would have more Batman and DC comics stuff.
-
I'd have thousands of extra dollars in my savings account probably... or at least a new car.
I'd probably be the same... a nicer car and less debt/more savings.
Without the PotF2 of the 90s, I never would have gotten into Toy Collecting, I'd probably kept reading DC Comics and maybe picked up some more of the DCD Line, but that's about it I guess...

A freakin' 2nd home. Actually one of the many muscle cars I have attempted to save up for about 100 times in my life.

Good question. Like many others, POTF2 and the Episode I lines are what got me back into collecting in the first place, so if they never existed, I kind of doubt I'd be collecting too much of anything. However, I always did have my vintage figures from my childhood, and there's a chance that I would be working towards a complete collection of that. On a related note, if just "modern" Star Wars was done or didn't exist, I'd likely devote that collecting time and money to the vintage line, first completing the figures and then working on vehicles/playsets and/or a small carded collection.
If there were no Star Wars at all, I'm guessing we'd just have more in savings, or upgrades on other things (house updates, car, television, computer). I basically just use "extra" income to fund my collecting, and I don't put it ahead of bills or "needs", so I'd likely just funnel it into savings or elsewhere. If I continued collecting anything (non-SW), it would likely be the Marvel Legends line and comics, both of which I buy some of now, but I'd probably expand a little bit further. Oh, and definitely more DVDs. I pretty much buy the ones I really want now when they come out, but others I kind of space out or ask for as gifts. I could see the collection expanding a fair amount if I had that extra money to put towards it.

Probably nothing collecting-wise. I'd just put the money into more "real world" types of things, like some nicer furniture, better electronics, and the usual knicknacks like music and movies. Sounds boring though, so hopefully Star Wars isn't going anywhere anytime soon!
