Title: Parents, a collector's GREATEST Enemy?
Post by: Darth_Deastron on September 4, 2005, 06:58 PM
Hi, I am an Indian (asian not Native) and I guess SW collecting is sort of frowned apon, And kids are expected to do unusually good in school (a B is considered a bad grade) And now that school has started my Mom expects me to just put away my collection until the summer and miss all the fun!  >:( I for one am pissed off! They don't understand ANYTHING about collecting!

They don't understand ANYTHING about collecting!

Neither do some wives and girlfriends.   ;)

You have to give some of them credit for at least pretending they do though.  ;D

Hehehe
Being born in Sri Lanka i feel your pain.
Mum and dad still give me crap about my collection and i'm 34  :)
Keep at it though , your education is very important though.
Why dont you try this , make a wish list of starwars figures and try to make a deal with your parents that if you get these grades then you get these toys :)
Cant hurt and that way all parties are happy.

I wish I could have said the same thing when I was in school. :-[  But that was my own fault, I was just lazy. :P And smarter than most of my teachers. ;D
Just keep at it, think of all the stuff you could buy with a job that pays you a ton of money because you got a great education.

Your parents are right, my friend. Focus on your education, and try what Hemish suggested. Good luck!  :)
