Well i'm about to crash after being awake for about 40 straight hours. My wife started labor pains last night at about 10PM. After the first 36 hour labor marathon with Tyler we decided to stay home as long as possible. Got to the hospital at 4AM and Amanda Catherine was delivered at 9:30AM. Baby, Mom and Dad are tired but doing good. Tyler is a bit confused as any single child I guess, and is already pushing the attention meter.
The strange thing is my Mom who passed away a little over a year ago was not here to welcome a grand daughter that she so much wanted from us. But in some ways she was here. My Mom's birthday also fell on the 13th. And the baby's weight was 6-13, my Mom's birthday. And on a stranger note, I am not sure if I told this story. At the exact time my Mom died last year, our pendulum clock at our home stopped at that exact time she passed, except the pendulum continued to swing. We finally had to fix it after a year because it was a bit awkward and eerie to stare at everyday. Do I believe in this type of hoopla I dont know, but it makes you wonder if someone is watching out for some of us, corny as that sounds.
Lights out here and a round of cyber cigars and shots for all ;) God Bless :)

Congratulations on the new addition to the family!
There are some odd coincidences like that in my family. Like my Grandmother, Mother and sister all have birthdays on the 16th stands out.

CONGRATS MAN!!!

Its earie how things like that happen.
Glad all went well

Congratulations on your bundle of joy. :)
-
Congratulations! ;D

Congrats on the new arrival.
It's funny. My mom passed away just before my daughter was born too. My daughter has a single allergy, strawberries. The only other person in the family allergic to strawberries was my mom. There's some other pretty neat similarities too. Just a nice way of letting us know they're still around :)

Congrats! Your story made me think of the song by Mike and the Mechanics In the Living Years where it goes "I'm sure I heard his(her) echo in my baby's new born tear, I wish I could have teld him/her in the living years. Anyway, I firmly believe that our children do remind us of our parents who have passed on. I look at my son and at times I really see my father who died when I was 17 back in 1982. Again, congrats and enjoy your girl. Kids rock!

Thanks folks. Speaking of reoccuring themes. Most of my wife and my families all have birthdays that fall on either the 8th or 13th. My Mom and Dad are 13 (and now daughter). My wife and I are 8's etc. Too many to list.

Congratulations Jim, and God bless you and your family. All the best.

BTW -- on a side note -- once you start using wipes be sure to use Pampers Sensitive wipes on her little girly parts ;) After having a boy first we didn't think about it making much of a difference on our daughter but it seemed to be a big deal to her! :o :-[
