Title: Looking for bubbles for custom carding
Post by: kirk_dougall on August 28, 2006, 05:28 PM
I'm looking at trying to get either old used bubbles from vintage or modern cards with similar style bubbles to the vintage line. Or a source for repro bubbles.
Can anyone point me in the right direction or do any card collectors have aload of bubbles there looking to get rid of?
I need them to be relatively cheap which is why I think repro may not be the way as I may be wrong but I'm guessing the prices are quite high?

Hey all
I've been researching bubbles (blisters) on the net and have found a company that sells custom made ones and they are a lot better deal than the ones found at tjtoys (guardian dragon).

The name of the place is Andex, and their site is at: www.andex.net.  They also do cardbacks as well, along with clamshells and various other things.  But, here is the deal.  I requested a quote from them and the guy just called me on the phone.  He says the minimum order is 10,000 units (bubbles).  Yeah, holy monkey crap thats a lot!!!  But, the price on this is $85.48.  THAT is a good deal imo.  You wouldn't think something like this would weigh a lot, but it comes 2000 per box, 5 boxes total, all weighing in at 22 lbs..

He is also sending me some samples as well free of charge to make sure its what I want.  Now, when I get these and they match up correctly on my card, I'm wanting to find out if anyone else (multiple parties) would be interested in going in on this with me?  I certainly dont need 10,000 bubbles!  I'm thinking splitting this up 5 ways (1 box per party) and we all split the cost and shipping.  Would any of you who card (or want to start carding) be interested in going in on this?

oh, I forgot.  You'll have to get the same kind as me I believe.  Which is stock no. 9780.  The dimensions on that are:
4" x 2 1/8" x 1 3/4"  (LxWxH) with a 3/8" flange.

I'd definately be interested but it would depend on the shipping cost to the U.K.

I dont think it would be that much.  I can get all the supplies sent here and mail them to the respective owners OR I'll see if they can split the order up and send each box to each person.  Doubtful, but I'll at least see.

If you dont want the exact same kind as me, I'll also see if they'll do multiple kinds in one order.  The size of mine is comparable to modern potf2, maybe a tad off.

I may be interested but I don't need that many bubbles.  I'm still on the fence on carding some of my custom figures.

I'm basiclly looking for a cheap alternative for my vintage figs I sell in the store.
At the minute there in little baggies pinned up but ideally i'd like to get some cheap card and print off some card backs for them.
They don't have to look perfect and I don't expect them to but they'll be better than a baggie.
I work the price out at roughly $18 per box? $18 for 2000 bubbles is nothing!
the weight divided by 5 is 4.4lb so I can't see the U.K P&P being to much.
I'm definately interested would just need to know the P&P cost on them really.

Hello,

Any update on this?  I just discovered this thread.  I would definitely be interested in some bubbles.  Let me know.

Thanks!
