i recently bought a 12 back R2 on ebay with a smashed bubble and when i got it out of the box and inspected the card it had a 12/32 sticker on it. what a surprise the guy didnt put that on the ad. dose anybody know how rare these are and are they worth more than a 12 back. i sent it to AFA and it got a 75 bubble 85 card anb a 85 figure. this is one of my rare figures in my collection and im trying to get a value for insurance reasons but i cant find any others. can anybody help...

I'm not sure about rarity or price for these particular cards. I know I don't have one for the Stormtrooper, and don't see many for the other characters. I did locate another owner of your R2 12d here (about five posts down) (http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=1843863), so at least we know yours isn't the only one.
I'm interested to know if AFA labeled yours as a 12/32 or a 12d...or both.
Hope this helps a little.

sorry the grades that i gave were for my Empire R2 the 32 back is a C80 B75 F90.75 ex+/nm. the sticker says
1978 KENNER STAR WARS
12back
R2-D2
32 BACK STICKER
the AFA number is 12311162
i gave it to AFA at the SDCC in '06 and they took for ever to return it to me. the guy said it was rare and that there are just a few greaded. i just want to get a reasonable $ figure for my records.the bad thing with AFA is that they put what you write on the app and if you forget something or dont know that it is a variant of any kind they wount take it upon themselfs to ad it for you. so i din't put a D back on it.what i read is that kenner put theys out when the ESB figures where going out and they found a few 12 back boxes left over and instead of repacking they just printed stickers and put them on the old stock.so they might all be D back ill have to look this up. thanks...

I sold a C-8 version of this for $250 at least 2 years ago.
Those 12/32's are very* rare.
