Title: Celebration Japan Shadow Guard
Post by: Hes No Good to Me Dead on June 23, 2007, 03:40 AM
I guess the Shadow Guard Kubrick will be released at one of the festivals in the near future. It is just a black version of the Royal Guard.

Hmmm... isn't there a "Shadow Guard" 3.75" figure coming in the Force Unleashed line?

Maybe Medicom is getting sucked into the "FU" media blitz too?
Title: Re: Shadow Guard
Post by: evenflow on June 25, 2007, 01:17 PM
I thought that at first too, but it hinkt he whole shadow trooper concept is very popular in Japan so this may just be another way fro them to capitalize.

With all the S8, S9, Blue Stars and Maul Bike set hype, this one's kind of been lost in the shuffle...

I wonder what happened to the Kubrick Shadow Guard that was shown at the Parco'07 show?  It's been almost 11 months since the show happened and it never got solicited or sold at a convention anywhere.

???

I could see this being the next 100% / 400% combo  :P
Title: Re: Shadow Guard
Post by: evenflow on May 12, 2008, 12:03 PM
Maybe its a Force Unleashed incentive in Japan for buying the video game like they sometimes do with movies there.

Any new 400% would be good, period.

The only picture I remember seeing was that one from Openers that had both the VCD and 100% Kubrick shown:

Hard to say when it's coming out, the VCD Shadow Guard is a SDCC exclusive & would think the Kuby would come out shortly. Maybe we will see something at the International Tokyo Toy Show June 19-22nd. Dunno.  :-\

Or the next World Character Convention is coming up on July 20th/21st, that might be where this one pops up...

Ah...  finally - Celebration Japan!

Looks like it's limited to 1500 pieces - 750 at the show and 750 through the website.  Here is the link (http://www.bearbrick.com/wccgon/) to enter the lottery...  looks like ordering will start around 11am on July 20th (Japan time obviously).

Cool looking figure, but I have no problem making one of those myself if I can't get a hold of the official one :P

Hmm... will this usher in the possibility of TFU Kubricks?

I really hope that they don't go down that path until they get a few more rounds of OT Kubricks.  There are still some core figures that need to be made.

I sent a note to my neighbor who is currently visiting her family back in Japan about ordering the Shadow Guard Kubrick.

Here's what she said:

Quote from: Brent's Neighbor
I checked the Kubrick website.  The star wars shadow guard will be on sale at the convention center for 750 piece and by internet 750 piece.  The internet sale will start on July 20th 11:00am till all pieces gone.

The bad news is that is the first day of summer vacation for Japanese students and they will not be near a computer when they are being sold.  Its unlikely I'll be getting these locally.  However, for anyone else with local connections this info might help.

Well, if anybody can help out I'd like to get one of these.  Maybe a second to open.  But I'm sure there are a bunch of others on here who do also.

Damn, that's a good price for that figure.  Nice looking too!  Will look good next to the carded Shadow Stormtrooper...

I wonder why they're selling them so cheap?
Title: Re: Celebration Japan Shadow Guard

They are making $35. per fig so it's still a good mark up when they are $15. each at the show.

Glad to see that most of the Shadow Guards are going to JD members.  8)

I noticed that the seller global put 3 more up & those are gone, then added 2 more with bin's of $79.99. The others that I noted are still up for $49.99.

I seem to have missed out on the lower price point with these.  Oh well.  I didn't really have the funds available right now anyway.  This will be a nice to have for me, but not a must for sure...

I'd liked to have been able to get one for cheap but I've already committed to buying some other stuff.  And with the SDCC exclusives and new action figs releasing this weekend.  I'm pretty much broke.

Well I guess it is at this point I'll say thanks to Dale for posting those links.  My Japanese buddy was unable to secure the Shadow Guard for me, either at CJ or online as it apparently sold out immediately.

I grabbed one too.  $64 shipped isn't such a bad deal a good deal for a 1500 piece carded Kubrick... :)  :-X

Agreed and I figured it might be as good a deal as would come along online.  I'm halfway expecting the price to rise now that the online sales are sold out as well.  Lots of folks like me might have been waiting in hopes of getting one cheaper.

I haven't heard anything from my local contacts.  I didn't expect them to get this one though given the timing.  Anyway, its not one that was a "must" have for me anyway.

If any missed out on the Kuby, another has popped up for $49.00 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Medicom-Kubrick-Star-Wars-Shadow-Guard_W0QQitemZ300244396728QQihZ020QQcategoryZ48972QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). The cheapest since we bin'd those last ones.

Got my Shadow Guard in the mail yesterday.  I was really excited when the box arrived, but when I opened it, I found my Shadow Guard stuffed into the box such that the top of the card was bent.  About a 1/2 inch down from the top (across the punch out) there is a crease all the way across the card... :'( >:(

So, anyone got an extra carded Shadow Guard (MOMC), that they were planning on opening anyway, that would be willing to trade me for mine?!  Please PM me and let me know...  Thanks.

Hey I Am Sith-

You bet, I'll trade ya.  I have one coming in the mail as well, it should be here any day.  I'm gonna open him up, so, assuming my card is tip top, no problem on the trade.  I'll let you know when it gets here, and we can go from there.

Sith-  You may want to take Outcast up on this, since with him there'd be no waiting, and it's already a guarantee of a good card.  As of today, my Shadow Guard still hasn't arrived, and I also don't know its condition yet.  Of course I'm still willing to do the trade, but sounds like he's ready to go with his.

Send out an e-mail to the seller & ask if they shipped it Brent, one of the other buyers in the group left feedback for getting it.  :-\

You may have to contact Paypal.

Yurp.  Did the email tonight, waiting on an answer.  I've got a week to spare and wanted to give a heads up.  Could easily be the crappy Canadian postal system but with that month allowance from paypal, gotta watch the date.

If it's saying it's at customs then you should have it any day, the site is never up to date. Heck, I had a parcel that it said in customs in Vancouver & I got it the same day. Gotta love Canada Post.  ::)

Yurp, CP sucks arse.

I remember doing a trade with a guy on the spawn board.  He was super patient and waited almost three months (we talked via email the whole time).  Sent it expedited, so had the tracking number.  When I got someone on the phone they said exactly what the web site said - it was in Toronto for rerouting, where it had been for 89 days apparently ::)  Good thing with expedited is the insurance and whenever I sell something I explain how CP sucks, here's a worthless tracking number but at least it is insured.

I'm happy with the tracking number and the response from the seller.  Not quite so keen on the shipping it 14 days after I won/paid the auction part though :-\  As long as it arrives ok I'll give him positive feedback, but one star for shipping.  Two weeks later is crap for timing, I've seen people give negs on items in others feedback for not having the item in that time, never mind not shipping by that point.
