Boo Vos. Yay Cato!
Can we get some non-Zombiefied Geonosians in this line too? Purty please?
-
Boo Vos??? :o
-
I wonder why a Zombie Geonosian would come out over a regular Geonosian. Maybe there's a removable worm that de-plugs from his nostril? ;)
I'm SO happy to see Cato, I thought she wouldn't make the line since she was in only one episode! Maybe she breaks outta jail with Bossk and Boba in a future episode??
-
Boo Vos??? :o
Which episode was he in again?
Oh right...NONE OF THEM. ::)
Nothing against the dude personally, I just hate to see them waste a TCW card slot on a figure who has never even been on the show, when there are so many other worthy candidates out there with multiple appearances.
That's my only beef. Same deal as Kul Teska, but at least he is way more interesting than "Tarzan-Jedi". (imho)

He was mentioned in a previous episode, just not shown. Maybe the time the figure is out he will have appeared in the show, so I wouldn't freak out just yet.
-
Another possibility is that a show was edited and he got cut out. I seem to recall Hasbro mentioning at some point or another that it's similar to working with the movies before they came out, in that they'd make something and it maybe wasn't important after the editing process was done, but they'd already made the figure based on something they were given earlier by LFL.
Think Ric Olie circa E1. :)
-
Good points all, and this really isn't something that annoys me too much, it just seems capricious when there are so many other worthy options out there since Season 1.
I suspect it might also be related to this, courtesy of the most recent HH Q&A:
In an answer last time, you mentioned that the upcoming Vintage Collection Magnaguard was originally scheduled for another round of now-cancelled Droid Factory packs. Are there any more figures from those cancelled sets that will make their way into the line somehow?
** Excellent question. The answer, right now is "no" but not for lack of wanting to include more of the figures somewhere. Most of them, however, were firmly EU figures (drawn from the comics, for the most part) which does not leave them a lot of options for homes right now. There are some great figures in there, and we will keep looking for ways to bring them out, though. Stay tuned!
So who knows, maybe he was slated for another line and got scrapped, so TCW wound up being the most acceptable home. (not sure how far along with tooling/sculpting they may have gotten, maybe it was an easy switch)
-
I don't really give a stuff if Vos is seen in CW seasons (yet) or not.
Hasbro in their Q&A are pretty specific read pedantic with their selection criteria for getting ANY figures made so Vos is not going to be in the CW series somewhere?
Unlikely..... ::)
Great character and if he's being made then it beats the other very ho hum characters that have already fill slots in various waves and are peg-heaters not peg-warmers.
So if they are making a Vos for the CW line - yay!!
-
Either way, Vos will likely sell.
-
Exactamundo.... ;)

Thanks to the toy catalog being found in the Fall 2010 Clone Wars vehicles, it looks like this wave has been confirmed:
'10 CW34 Undead Geonosian
'10 CW35 Clone Trooper Draa
'10 CW36 Clone Commander Jet
'10 CW37 Quinlan Vos
'10 CW38 Cato Parasiti
-
Hasbro response from most recent round of Q&A:
"There are no plans for an updated Quinlan Vos or Villie figure."
D'Oh!
:P

Sounds like a solid wave for sure. It will be awesome to get some figures from the Geonosis story arc, though I would have preferred a normal Geonosian to the Zombie version. Maybe the figure will have some interchangeable parts so people can have both. Like the other waves, I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the figs from SDCC or CV.
-
I am VERY much excited for Cato Parasitti! I like the name they're going with for the Geonosian - "Undead Geonosian", as opposed to "Zombie Geonosian", as it was named in rumor lists.
-
I'm still hoping for a figure of Barriss Offee.
-
Can't wait to see these!
-
Are they holding back on showing Vos or did they show him somewhere and I missed it?

Nope, he hasn't been shown yet. It's puzzling because he first showed up on the rumor mill, which could have made him a simple rumor, but he was also listed in a Hasbro "Star Wars" product catalog. The fact that he hasn't been shown yet as either an action figure in the TCW line or as an actual character in the series in any Season 3 teasers/trailers is odd.

F'ing amazing, maybe even topping the Embo wave. Cato is MARVELOUS.
Great, great stuff...the Zombie Geonosian even comes with detachable limbs!
I also think it's funny that they went out of their way to NOT show Quinlan Vos. Yes, Virginia, there IS a CW37 figure...
-
Cato is a unique looking figure, but I'm not a huge fan of the character.
Jet is awesome and I've been looking forward to him. Draa I don't really remember, but he's pretty cool.
The zombie geonosoian is gonzo.
-
That Cato is friggin' awesome! It appears 2011 will be the year of the Clawdite Shape-Shifter - AOTC Zam Wesell and Cato.
I'm not really jumping for joy or anything for the clones - we've just gotten too many of those. ::)
I really was not expecting anything great from the Zombie Geonosian - but this sure was a treat. I can't tell, though, if that thing sticking outta its mouth is its tongue or that mind-control worm.

It's a worm.

Nice wave overall. I like Cato as well, but I'm really surprised at how much I like that Zombie Geonosian. When it was first rumored, I didn't really think all that much about it, but seeing the completed figure it really does look sweet.
-
Yeah, the zombie geonosian is indeed cool. He's just got so much personality in that void expression. Also digging Cato, the more hunters the better. Does anyone else think the orange clone in that photo is holding a boombox and listening with headphones? I know it's a bazooka, but the way it's positioned, that's what I always see when I look at it.
-
Vos still coming? Sure looks like it!

-
I figured... must be a Season 3 spoiler, so they didn't want to show him yet at C-V.
I'd guess that the "secret" GH 2-pack that they mentioned probably involves him too...
-
Does that say "includes speederboard"?
-
Skate or Die! Time for a little 'gleaming the holocron' with his rad board, dude!

I can't wait to hear the Vos fanatics melt down collectively when they see that he's a Jedi skate rat with a "valley" accent.

Righteous :P

Kudos for the exclusive first look at Vos. You guys rule!
I agree with Jeff, he must be in Season 3 because it seems ridiculous to have held him out of CV otherwise. Then again, it would have been smarter to just go ahead and show it rather than letting the photos leak the next week too. ::)
I'm calling this schmoe "Tarzan-Jedi"...or maybe "Master Perry Farrel".
Stupid, but I'll buy him.
-
Love the Vos figure and look forward to adding him to my collection.
-
I love that he's wearing his outfit from the comics, I half-expected the crew to design him an all-new outfit.
-
great work on the peak at the new vos figure!
im not a big animated CW figure fan, but i'll definteley have to pick up this vos. i havent seen much of season 2 or heard anything on season 3, but is that valley/skater jedi comment true? :o i hope not......but either way it's awsome to see vos get some more exsposure.
-
There are some nice new carded and loose pics of Vos up on Yakface now...
-
Wow, it's amazing how well this figure could fit into the realistic line - his headsculpt (to me, at least) looks like what we should have gotten from Hasbro in the CPs line. It's a great sculpt. The only thing that stands him apart from being 100% realistic are the long/skinny legs.
And whoah, that is one LONG lightsaber hilt. It looks like a double-sided lightsaber, minus one blade.

A possible reason for the longer hilt is that it might attach to the speederboard (http://www.yakface.com/2010/august/VOS_board.html) for extra play function. Whether or not that shows up in the series remains to be seen.
-
Hmm, I'm not so sure if I like this idea, it'll be an awkward combination of having a lightsaber stick out of skate/snow board.

Lets not forget these are children's toys. Not everything can fit into "our" realm ;) I'm sure the kiddos will love the idea.
-
Aah, good point. At least he's SA.
-
Just in time for his debut, Vos and crew are in stock at BBTS
-
Shocked to read this wave has been spotted already at Walmart! (courtesy RS)
Loving that new figures are out, but I kinda hate the timing...don't like when the waves are right on top of each other like this. I only just found Wave 4 yesterday!
Not only is it a sudden drain on the $$$, it means we'll have no new figures to look forward to in December. :(
-
What this I'm hearing about Commander Jet not shipping with this wave?
Jeff - any details? I saw the blurb on HH as well as some comments from various fan forums.
Would be a shame, he looked sharp.

He is not listed in any of the case assortments for this wave (or the next one), so it appears that he was bumped out into 2011.
No word yet from Hasbro on what happened to him... :(
-
Saw a case here in KC . No Jet :(

Walmart?
-
Yep....
-
Thanks, hunting around again for these today.
Not sure what will become of Jet...I just noticed that they actually revised the numbering for this wave. Jet was supposed to be CW36, but now Quinlan Vos has that number.
This strikes me as odd because they did not renumber the TVC wave missing Yoda or Wedge.
Maybe we'll see him in the eventual wave with Cad Bane in Clone Armor. ::)
-
Just saw these are up now at HTS for Pre-Order, sans Jet. With the Family2010 code, it comes to $29.33 for all 4 new figures. Tempting, if not for the estimated 12/6 ship date. Still, it could be worth it to enjoy the luxury of skipping Walmart for the next 2 weeks.
-
Found these today. Didn't notice a Jet, but then again I have a blind spot when it comes to Clones these days. I did get Vos and the Geonosian, who is wickedly cool.
-
Has anyone spotted this Wave at a Target or TRU yet? I am getting severely beaten down hitting multiple Walmarts every day looking for a better carded Vos and Cato for openers. It's been a good 3 weeks or so now that these have been in circulation, that's a pretty good head start for one giant retailer over another. When are the other guys going to catch up?
Around here the wave hit all at once, one case per store, and sold through almost immediately Thanksgiving week. All of the stores that had these here have since restocked 2-3 times but never put out any more Wave 5 cases - just more of Wave 4, revision 1.
Heck, it'd be nice if HTS would restock these already. Any excuse I can find to stop hitting stores this time of year is worth it.

Back up at HTS as of 4pm CST. Use HOLIDAY2010 to save 25%, free shipping if you spend over $50 after the discount. ;)
-
Well, I bit the bullet and picked up another Cato and Vos, along with the Droid Tri-Fighter. (The HMP is sold out ALREADY!) Thanks for the tip, Jeff.
I am officially done with Walmart! ;D
-
FYI for anyone interested: I found 2 cases of this wave tonight at TRU, right off the truck. The box was marked "W5R1". Great timing as they still had the 2 for $9.99 sale going on. Might be worth checking around your local TRU tomorrow to knock out this wave for $20.
First sighting I have heard of this wave outside of Walmart...
-
I found the undead geonosian at TRU today. None of the rest.
-
Found cases of this wave at TRU, and snagged them on sale. ;D
-
Found some of these at a Wal Mart in Minnesota, but the system wasn't recognizing them. Finally got a set, but it was a pain.

This was the case weeks ago when I bought mine too, and now that I have doubles/triples I have started returning a few and run into the same issue. Weird. They all rang up fine at TRU, so I assume it must be some sort of Wally gaffe.
I've seen a healthy supply of this wave recently, which is great - even the Cato "helmeted" variant. ::)
-
I picked up Boba Fett and Quinlan Vos last night. Quinlan Vos' lightsaber hilt is rather long you know.
-
A "that's what she said" moment?
