Title: No immediate plans to see Ep. III?
Post by: stormie on May 18, 2005, 09:43 AM
Anyone else?

The wife and I have our hands full with two little 'uns (18 months and 2 months) and no family or friends close or able to watch them for us, so getting out for 3 hours to see a movie is pretty much a no-go. We haven't seen a movie in the theatres since 2003. :o We both want to see it, but we also realize it'll be in the theatres for a while, or we'll at least catch it on DVD eventually. And we're not about to take the kids. In addition, neither of us like big crowds, so the idea of a packed theatre is not greatly appealing. In fact, I waited at least three weeks after opening night for both Ep. I and Ep. II before seeing them, just to avoid the masses.

Just curious to see if anyone else is planning to wait a bit (or longer) before taking the Ep. III plunge. But to fulfill my Ep. III cravings, I am trying to soak up just about every bit of spoiler info/data possible. ;)

I'm going to the midnight show, but my best friend has a lot of comittments with work, lots of travelling n stuff, and he won't be able to see it for two or three weeks either.

I suggested he try to sneak away during part of his trip to catch it, but his wife won't allow him to see it unless she's there too! ;D

I was in a similar situation for Clones, our first son was like 8 weeks old at the time and my wife was staying home, luckily my mother in law came up for a few days and I got some time off the day it opened and went to a matinee.  Then, we went like 2 weeks later as one of our first post-kids dates.  Sucks on the babysitter route though, and I can sympathize.  Outside of our parents and maybe our siblings, we really don't feel safe leaving our kids with anyone else

I guess a few people are down to the last hour of waiting here, but there's no midnight showings near me. Gonna go tomorrow night at 9.15pm after an hour and a half all-you-can-eat in Big Lukes. Got VIP box tickets, so it's pop, licensed bar and private surround sound!

Not busy tomorrow so I could see it myself earlier, but what if it sucks...!? ;)

I always wait and see the new movies over the opening weekend, as the first few days are very packed and sold out.

I'm going to have to wait another week simply because I'm getting final exams together and trying to get them graded before I leave for the summer.  I would go this weekend, but my wife bought me half season tickets for the Texas Rangers and I've got two games!!

I figured I was gonna wait awhile to see it, but for some reason I cracked yesterday and went after class. I thought they'd have sold out and I'd have to buy tickets for a later showing, but I was able to get my ticket about 30 minutes before the showing. It wasn't even crowded, mostly parents and their little kids.

But go see the movie asap stormie, it's worth not waiting.

I couldn't stand waiting, I've seen it 5 times and plan to see it quite a few more. :)
