Title: Halo Toys
Post by: Reid on August 26, 2005, 02:09 PM
Anyone collect Halo or Halo 2 toys? I have Halo 2 series 1 Master Chief. The one I want to get most is the series 3 Spec-ops Grunt. Anybody Collect?

I used to be a hardcore Halo Collector - I have all of Series 1 (carded and loose, except for the vehicles, which I have loose) including 4 Active Camo Master Chiefs!  8)
I stopped being a "completist" on this line after the first series of the Halo 2 figures - now I buy just the ones that look good.  On my desk right behind my keyboard I have 6 various Master Chiefs (including a custom one in my "cobalt" color scheme  ;)).
Halo rules and these figures are great!  I am really looking forward to the newest assortment

I think I have 5 or 6 from Halo 2 and two miniwarthogs that I now use for clones. They are pretty nice. I'm a huge fan of the game.

I played around with these years ago before they came out at Gencon and was planning on picking up a couple, but the price was too much IMO. My roomate has the Halo 1 Black Master Chief; it's pretty good but something is a tad bit off about it IMO. I used to collect the smaller versions, but my Suncoast never had any new stock and it became a hassle tracking them down, so I stopped.

I only collect the smaller scale Covenant figures and vehicles as they can be used as alien species in the Cantina et. all.

The Covenant vehicles (Ghost, Banshee, and up-coming Spectre) all hold Star Wars figures so I use them for customizing. I picked up 6 Halo2 Ghosts and 1 each of teh Halo Banshee and Halo2 Banshee. I planon picking up a Spectre or 2 as well as the upcoming Heretic Banshee.

I'm definitely picking up the Spectre when I see it. That's my favorite vehicle in Halo 2, especially when I'm online. My friend and I play every-man-for-himself Sniper King on Headlong, and we just gun people down in the Spectre just to tick 'em off. ;D

My GameStop discontinued its action figures... :'(
I was in there last night and I don't know, they rearranged and everything and they aren't there! Maybe they'll put them out after XBOX360 comes out. Darn, I really wanted the Spectre and Arbiter!

I collect these, but I don't have anywhere NEAR all of the line. I just can't find them anywhere.  I've got a lot of the different chiefs, but I'm short on my vehicles and aliens. Are they making a new Cortana? I'd really like to get one of those, but I just can't find her anywhere.

It looks like Series 8 is going to be the last series of Halo 2 figures. Series 9 and 10 are cancelled. (http://carnage.bungie.org/haloforum/halo.forum.pl?read=719046)

Figs in Series 8:
Master Chief v.4 (http://www.joyridestudios.com/halo2_8_mc.asp)- Shotgun, Pistol, and Flood Infection Form

Covenant Jackal (http://www.joyridestudios.com/halo2_8_jackal.asp)- Plasma Pistol and Shield

Heretc Elite Leader (http://www.joyridestudios.com/halo2_8_heretic_elite_leader.asp) (now named Sesa 'Refumee)- 2 Plasma Rifles and Holodrone

Heretic Grunt (http://www.joyridestudios.com/halo2_8_heretic_grunt.asp)- Plasma Pistol, Shipping Delayed Due to "Production Issues"

That Heretic Grunt would be so much better if it included a bigger gun. I forget the name of it, but there's this gun that the Grunt's use in the game and it has a knife-like thing on the back end. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Title: Re: Halo and Halo 2 Toys

Umm...what game are you playing, Roton?  ???

The only weapons the Grunts used were plasma rifle and needlers, and I think at some places on Legendary, Plasma Rifles.

The Brutes, on the other hand, had the grenade launcer with the melee blade on the end. But the Brutes were really different than the Grunts.

You're thinking of a Brute Shot.

Lol... If a Grunt tried to pick one up, it would crush them. So it would be better if it didn't include a Brute Shot.

I loved the part in Halo 2 where you got to beat the crap outta this guy, so this is a must for me. Sucks that there's only one Hollywood Video near me... Hope they'll carry it.

Does anybody know the release date for this? Is it already out? Has anyone picked it up so far?

I wish they would make a regular grunt

Both orange and red flavors of infantry Grunt were released in the Halo 1 line... And a Spec-Ops Grunt was released in the Halo 2 line... Hope they make a Green Grunt (Heavy Gunner) and a White Grunt (Pilot). They could both be repaints of the Spec-Ops Grunt, pack a Needler and Plasma Grenade in with the white one, and a Plasma Turret and Plasma Pistol in with the green one and you'd be all set.

Will the recently released Series 8 be that last wave? I was wondering because there's still a lot of characters and weapons to be made, like:

7' Figures:

Sergeant Johnson (Halo 2) w/ Beam Rifle & Battle Rifle
Commander Miranda Keyes w/ Dual SMGs & Frag Grenade
UNSC Marine (Halo 2) w/ Rocket Launcher & Frag Grenade
Elite Honor Guard w/ Energy Sword & Plasma Rifle
Spec-Ops Elite Commander w/ Covenant Carbine & Energy Sword
Brute Honor Guard w/ Brute Plasma Rifle
Green Grunt (Heavy Gunner) w/ Heavy Plasma Rifle & Plasma Pistol
White Grunt (Pilot) w/ Needler & Plasma Grenade
Elite Flood w/ Plasma Rifle & Covenant Carbine
Sentinel 2-Pack w/ 343 Guilty Spark

Accesories:
Sentinel Beam
343 Guilty Spark
2401 Penitent Tangent
Fuel Rod Gun

Any I missed?

Hope that Series 8 isn't the last wave, after all, it's more than a year 'til Halo 3's released.

He's in Series 8- just with different weapons I think.

I remeber hearing on some forum (not SW, a Halo one) that Series 8 was the last Halo 2 wave, so Joyride can focus on planning the Halo 3 figures.

If I recall, the figures were out like 2 months before the game- some exclusives were in stores almost 3 months I think.

That's weird, the last wave of Halo 1 figures came out around 4-5 months before the release of Halo 2... Hopefully the year-long break between Halo figures means we'll get some really great Halo 3 product.

Looks like they're putting out some last little items:

Halo 2 Weapons Pack (http://www.diecastexpress.com/shopping/prod_detail/main.asp?productID=103354&maincatID=10463)

UNSC Small Turret, Covenant Small Turret, Brute Plasma Rifle, Shotgun, Assault Bomb, Frag Grenade, Plasma Grenade.

That looks pretty cool.

Jackal Major (http://www.diecastexpress.com/shopping/prod_detail/main.asp?productID=103330&uid=3309484D-E667-4713-99A4-19F2772156E9-7883938&maincatID=10463&catID=10463)

Same version of the Series 8 (or 7?) Jackal with a gold shield.

Blue Spartan (http://www.diecastexpress.com/shopping/prod_detail/main.asp?productID=103353&uid=3309484D-E667-4713-99A4-19F2772156E9-7883938&maincatID=10463&catID=10463)

Includes Large Stationary Turret (the one on top of bases on multiplayer), Blue Flag, Shotgun, 2 SMGs, and interchangeable left hand.

This guy comes with lots of goodies....I like that.

Finally, a Red Spartan (http://www.diecastexpress.com/shopping/prod_detail/main.asp?productID=103327&uid=3309484D-E667-4713-99A4-19F2772156E9-7883938&maincatID=10463&catID=10463) with a Battle Rifle and Plasma Small Stationary Turret.

All are Diecastexpress.com (Joyride's online dealer) exclusives and are expected to ship late September.

Gentle Giant And Microsoft Form A New Covenant

February 9, 2007, Burbank, Ca. – Gentle Giant Ltd. announces a new partnership with Microsoft and Bungie Studios, that will bring fans of the best selling Halo franchise a series of high end collectibles and figures. Halo is a premier title for the Xbox platform, with the eagerly awaited third installment in the trilogy currently in development by Bungie Studios.

Gentle Giant plans a full slate of collectibles that will entrance casual Halo gamers and hardcore Halo fans alike. The license spans the Halo trilogy, meaning that Gentle Giant will produce a range of products from the entire series, including:

3-inch block figures (produced under the official Kubrick name in partnership with Japanese toy giant Medicom, pioneers of the block figure category),
12-inch collectible figures
resin mini-busts, and
1/4-scale mixed material statues

“This is something of a dream scenario for us,” said Gentle Giant Vice President of Product Development and Design Dev Gilmore. “We’ve had a long standing business relationship with Medicom and only have the utmost respect for everyone there and the products they produce, so we’re thrilled to partner with them on the official Halo Kubricks. Plus we have the opportunity to break some new ground and bring a whole new line of amazing collectibles to the Halo-loving masses. It doesn’t get much better than that.”

Dammit! (http://http://www.figures.com/databases/action.cgi?setup_file=fignews2.setup&category=actionfigures&topic=6&show_article=1518&nl=1)

This really sucks, I was looking forward to Joyride's Halo 3 figures...

Looks like the 7' action figure license is up for grabs. Watch Mattel get it and release 20,000 Master Chief variants. I can see it now...

Master Chief
Master Chief (Jet Wings)
Master Chief (Ice Armor)
Master Chief (Fire Armor)
Master Chief (Kung Fu Grip)
Master Chief (Mega Grip)
Master Chief (Venom Armor)
Master Chief (Rocket Boots)
Master Chief (Power Attack)
Master Chief (Brute Slaying Armor)
Master Chief (Grunt Slaying Armor)
Master Chief (Holographic)

And Cortana, Brute, Marine, and Prophet Of Regret figures packed x1 per case each...

Both the Ghost and Brute are much bigger than I'd thought they would be, lots of great detail on both of them. The Brute has some pretty good articulation too. SW figures fit perfect on the Ghost, especially the AT-TE Gunner.

Joyride was the company that made Halo figures for Halo: CE and Halo 2. Sadly, they lost the license and now McFarlane has it. You can still find some Joyride figures at stores like GameCrazy, GameStop, or Toys R Us, and also online. Amazon has a buttload, and a few under $10. McFarlane's Halo 3 figures are set to be released around February/March of next year. You can preorder them on Amazon for $12.99 each. Hope that helps.  :)

Technically, today was the "official" release date for these figures but stores have had them out for about a week.

I would highly reccomend picking at least one up if you're a Halo fan. I bought the GameStop Exclusive Steel CQB Spartan and the figures are top-notch. Great articulation (almost too much), unique paintjobs ("battle damage" and paint details on undersuit), Interchangeable armor, these guys have it all. If they were only an inch and a half shorter, they would be in scale with Star Wars and would blow Hasbro's work out of the water...

I'm not too into the game(s), but I'm thinking sbout getting a couple of figures from this line. Master Chief looks cool, but what I'm really looking at are the Brute figures. That's a neat alien design. The only thing detering me is the price per figure.

Just wanted to bump this up since soon wave two will be out. I'm going to need some help securing the exclusives this go around as they are many.

If you can help me out with Halo 3 figures I have a short list to look for. All are exclusives. The first wave was scarce in my parts and I had to resort to eBay. Something I did not want to do.

Here's the short list:
WAVE 2 due out around June ( I only need one of each with exception to the last one in the list):
• Spartan EOD (Blue)-Wal*Mart Exclusive
• Spartan ODST (STEEL)-Game Stop Exclusive
• Spartan ODST (CYAN)-Wal*Mart Exclusive
• Spartan E.V.A. (BROWN)-TRU exclusive
• Spartan ODST (Black)-this one is the only non-exclusive one. I need 3 of these

Blue colored for Wal*Mart (selling theirs for $9.99 each), Brown colored for TRU (selling theirs for $11.99 each), and Steel (grey) colored for Game Stop (selling theirs for $13.99 each).

Any help would be greatly appreciated and of course I'll pay cost plus shipping so there is not cost to yourself in the end. Don't make a special trip on my behalf (especially with the price of gas nowadays), just whenever you happen to be on a toy run, if you could check the Halo stuff.

Thanks to any and all who may help.

Wave 2 of the Halo3 figs is now out! So I HAD to bump this up.

I need some help securing the exclusives this go around, PLEASE.

Here's the short list:

Please help. I paid through the nose last wave, eBaying the final two I needed (both being the Wal*Mart ones). I'd rather NOT do that again.

Thanks to any and all who may help. Sorry for the shameless begging...

Carp, I forgot, there is also a GOLD colored Spartan exclusive to FYE and Suncoast.

PLEASE help. I need one of these as well as the few others I listed.

These exclusives are getting to be ridiculous. For this specific one, I called all of my FYE/Suncoast stores within a 25 mile area. Either they aren't carrying them in store or the couple that have carried Halo figs in the past only get a case and then it's done.

What's the frackin point of having these exclusives if stores aren't going to carry them??

I DON'T want to eBay these, but I can see that happening. GRRR!

Scored the TRU exclusive last night. So I just need the two WalMart, one FYE/Suncoast exclusives and 2 mass retail ODST (Blue visor) figures and I'm done with this wave.

I hope the Recon figure is available everywhere. Atleast we can have one type of Recon thing.  :'(

I wish they would of had Rogue as the special helmet, because that's the only helmet (Elites included) in the game that I hate.

I'll keep a look out for you. I will say to call your local FYE/Suncoast's and ask them about it. The only one remotely around me only got in TWO of them. I lucked out and happened to call at the right time on Wednesday and they got them in yesterday. I had to drive 30 miles one way to get it, so it was a little costly for me in gas. However there is only one on eBay right now and it's upwards of $41. So work on that one.

The Gamestop/EBgames one isn't too hard. Again call around for that one. If you're in one of their stores, ask them to look it up at other stores and see if you can have one special delivered to your local store.

The WM ones are going to be a pain in the arse again. I never found them from the first wave and subsequently had to eBay the darned things. I paid more than I'm normally willing to spend on such things. I'm SO hoping that doesn't happen again. However the very discouraging news (at least for me) is that I've visited no less than 11 different WMs in the last 2 weeks, and NONE of them knew what I was talking about with regards to the Halo figs. None of them could help with special ordering, etc. I've been asking, begging, pleading my local store to carry them, but to no avail...

The mass retail black ODST is NOT a Spartan, so make sure you correct that when asking for it. It has completely different armor other than the helmet from the regular Spartans. It's more a camo jumpsuit with some armor on it.

Like I said, I'll look out for you, I just ask the same in return. Cost plus shipping as per usual.

Thanks Sal. I will be hitting some Wal-marts this weekend. I will definetly be keeping my eye out for you. A friend of mine was able to grab the TRU one for me.

Wal-mart is always a pain.

I called like three Gamestops with no luck. :(

ANd they closed all the FYE/Suncoasts in my area.

I am so S.O.L.

Hmm, I might be able to score a Gamestop one for you. ( I might have already said that, and if so apologies for repeating).

What I don't get about FYE/Suncoast is that if they have an exclusive, you'd think they'd WANT to SELL them...

A rumored I've heard is that for the stores that will carry them, they will only get 2-4 figs. That's beyond ridiculous.

Anyway, here's hoping we can help each other on these.

Well....no sooner did I post the previous response then I checked my eBay account.

I won an auction for both the Gamestop and mass retail ODST figures.  If you want them, let me know. total is $33.56 for the auction (including shipping). I can see if the seller would ship straight to you. Otherwise, he'd ship to me, then I'd have to ship to you, so it would be a few dollars extra for that shipping as well.

Just let me know. (I'll provide the eBay auction number to you for proof-by PM-if you want it).

I was able to score the Black ODST. So I'm now just down to the two WM figs for this wave and I'm done with wv2!

Picked up a Series 3 Flood Combat Form at TRU.

You can get the Human Flood for CHEAP on Amazon.com.
$3.99 per figure! Now THAT is cheap for a Halo fig. The reason why this one is so cheap I think is due to the lack of articulation. But it's still a sweet figure. I already had three beofre seeing this price, but I may just buy some more because that is such a good price.

Well, I'm in need of help for one of the latest figures. It is the Blue Hayabusa ( http://www.spawn.com/toys/product.aspx?product=3824 ) exclusive to Wal*Mart. I'm not worried about card condition. If anyone can help me I'd greatly appreciate it. The figure should cost $10 plus tax. I'll pay cost+shipping+$5 extra for your trouble.

Please PM me and/or respond in this thread if you can help.

Whew this topic needs a serious refresh...

Wave 6 (Medal wave) is due out any time now. I have a complete wave on order from BBTS as well as an extra each of: Brute, Flood pureform, White Recon, 6 red grunts.

Also, be on the lookout for the remote control Warthog (can be found at Gamestop for about $25). There are also a RC Mongoose and RC Hornet (yes it FLYS!) coming this month.

As well the McF Halo Mongoose sets are due to drop this month as well.

Damn, I'll be spending about $400 on Halo stuff this month. Just at the WRONG time for me too... I'm buying a house. Well, thankfully I've had these toys budgeted for, but still my wife may have a small conniption.

Green with Rockets? Do you mean Master Chief?

If so, that's from an older wave, but man, that's a great price!

I've got an ever increasing collection of these figures now. At last count it's approx 150 figures.

Not to burst any bubbles here, but did you know that there is a third mongoose? It comes with a Crimson and Silver CQB Spartan.
Main link: http://www.spawn.com/toys/product.aspx?product=4028

Likewise when you say waiting on your favorite, did you know that the picture you posted was NOT of Master Chief? In fact the one you posted is a Spartan from the "Halo Wars" video game, not Halo, Halo 2 or Halo 3. There is a significant difference in the armor and coloration.

For the record I too am awaiting this specific figure. It was to be in the latest wave of figures that is currently out in stores, but for some reason McFarlane pulled it back. It will now be coming out in a two-pack with the actual Master Chief. See pic below:

Here's the main link: http://www.spawn.com/toys/product.aspx?product=4100

I've been collecting this line since McFarlane took it over. I've enjoyed it quite a bit and it's not really expensive to collect, save a few exclusives, mostly stemming from overseas. Still, it's nothing compared to the money I've spent in the past on SW.

Jesse, if you're interested in just the accessories, then you might be interested in the weapons pack. They issued one a wave or so ago and are reissuing it. Here it is:

And the main link: http://www.spawn.com/toys/product.aspx?product=4093

It's a decent mix of both Human and Covenant weaponry. Though if you're after an AR or BR, then yeah, you're going to have to buy the figures for now. I'm hoping for a NEW Weapons pack that includes those weapons among others, instead of this reissue. But you take what you can get I suppose.

and yes i know bout the crimson mongoose but Australia wont get that one.

If so, I can see them makign the "Falcon." No, not the Millenim Falcon, but the Halo Reach Falcon. This the mini-Pelican VTOL aircraft seen in the REACH trailer.

Post by: jedi_master_sal on February 2, 2010, 09:01 AM
ok...where the hell did you get those from? lol
Those are awesome.

That tank is huge. If it were made into a toy, I'd guess it to be in the $150 range. While I'd buy one, I don't know if there is enough of a fanbase (of buying fans) to warrant it being made.

Now the Warthog though, that is a different story. That would be much less expensive, I can see it being in the $40-60 range. And McFarlane could easily make both the Turret and Gauss canon versions at the same time. In fact they could include the parts for both to allow us to choose which version we want to display. Though see how toy manufacturer operate, I would see McF releasing the Turret one first, then the Gauss later, possibly as an exclusive. Oh and then there is the artic deco version.

That Banshee is sweet. That's easily a $30 toy.

Damnit why did you have to show these? lol I wants them, I wants them! heh heh

but the most we can hope for is a warthog. I love the idea and i quote

The Banshee is definitely out of scale with the rest. It's a much smaller craft than the Tank. My statement of it being a $30 toy should be understood as, "in scale, this toy should retail for $30." So apologies for not making myself perfectly clear. Of course if McFarlane were to include a figure to pilot the craft then tack on another $10-15.

poodachoo, if you've got more pics, please post them, or at the least, I'd be happy with links so I could check them out myself. Again, thanks for posting these.

Yeah, I saw this. Beautiful vehicle. I can't seem to find out how much it's going to retail for. I'm guessing between $50-65.

Lots of good stuff coming for Halo. Halo Reach figures!

I'm very happy about the Ghost. The Grunt that comes with it (as pictured) is one from Reach, that is why he has a very different backpack. Bungie folks are calling it the "mini-keg."

Huh, I just realized that the warthog in the above picture is NOT the final product. It looks like it's a mock-up made of foam or balsa wood parts. Look at the texturing and I noticed a holding pin in the second picture where the windshield meets the fender.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great piece, but since it's not the final product, I wonder if McF brought this along to gauge interest in a Warthog.

Let me say that I'm emphatic about having a warthog. It's one of the more iconic vehicles of the Halo series.

That warthog does look like an excellent vehicle.  I like the looks of all the figs and vehicles they've shown.  Still, I can't help but wish that these were in the 3.75-4" range so they'd match up with the SW and Joe figures.

100% agree.  It's the only thing keeping me from getting into HALO.

True but im happy that they reduced the size down to 5'' from like 8'' or 9''the old bungie joyride ones that i have cause vehicles really wouldn't be possible for that size.

I agree on the size, the 5" line seems to be a decent size, it's just that nothing else I own other than mid-90's Star Trek is really in that scale.  I have one Master Chief and probably would have bought a lot more if they'd been in a format that was compatible with the other lines I collect.

I have several Avatar ships/creatures, for example, because they look cool and fit in the 1:18 scale.

I don't mind the size. One good thing is that these figures aren't all that much more expensive than SW figures and their much bigger. Not really many army builders either, so I'm not burning through money for these. While this line is rampant with exclusives, it's not been all that bad to find them, eventually.

I'm glad McF took this down from Joyride's scale. Besides, JR never had the detail that McF does. I don't think there would be that much detail though in the 3 3/4" scale.

Though to be sure, I'd have bought them in that scale as well. I'd love to have these standing next to my other figs, SW, Marvel, etc. They look like giants now though in comparison.

Yep, I saw these several weeks ago.

poodachoo, you should check out Halocollectors.com for Halo stuff. While there is only about a dozen of us that are active, you'll get Halo info much quicker there since it's specifically a Halo site.

I'm not trying to steal you away from here, just saying if you want to broaden your Halo fandom, you can add Halocollectors.com to your repertoire of websites you visit.
