I could come up with about a jillion AOTC/CW/ROTS ideas, but for now this seems like the perfect time to restage an earlier suggestion of mine....
Tusken Camp Massacre
--Campfire and hut
--Tusken female with child -- most likely a repack from 2002 Saga, which still holds up well IMO
--1x or 2x Tusken warriors -- a new SA version would be ideal of course, although if they went the repacking route my choice would be the 2003 Camp Ambush figure since he's a better sculpt and the POTJ Sniper has already been repacked with the massiff and in OTC.
--Some sort of Anakin -- maybe the Saga Tusken Camp version with softgoods robe. I'm not too picky on this part since Anakins are a dime a dozen.

Since AOTC I've wanted a set like this. For a while a Cinema Scene seemed like the only route, but this concept would be pretty useless for a 3-figure set, and the Cinema Scenes are dead now anyways. But the Battle Packs are a PERFECT platform for this. I'd probably even buy multiples, which I very rarely do.
Thoughts? Too bloodthirsty for a "kid's toy"? If so, downplay the massacre aspect and simply call it a Tusken Village or something?

I picked up the Clone Attack on Coruscant last night, so I wouldn't mind battle packs like that, 4 troopers and an officer. They could do it for snowtroopers, stormtroopers, more clones for Phases 1 and 2 armor, battle droids, wookies, gungans, maybe senate guards, utapau warriors, and geonosians.

I agree, I think probably the best way to make the battle packs is to keep loading them with army-builders, and of decent sculpts at that. The Target 5-pk is awesome. But the TRU Hoth pack is weak since they used mostly outdated sculpts from 1997.

EE is already doing something like that with the Stormtrooper, Rebel Commando, Sandtrooper, Astromechs, AOTC Clones x4 Variations etc. Though I'd like to see them do it on a larger scale, like you're suggesting.

Wait, Entertainment Earth is going to offer multipacks of Stormtroopers? Do you know if they are going to be the VOTC versions?

No, the army builder packs Tedious speaks of are white mailer box 4-packs... They did a Commtech Stormie set, Sandtrooper set (the only good set, though the Stormies were nice at the time), Endor Rebels, and Fleet Troopers... They're ok sets, and I'd take them over the Enterainment Earth concept of makign the 4-packs a display item that costs you an arm and a leg if you want to actually build a sizeable army.
The astromechs fall under that latter category. Nice figures, bad packaging for supposedly "army building" focused sets.
I'm ok with Battlepack army builder sets like Target's Coruscant Clone set. I think that's neat, and if they used quality figures like VOTC Stormtroopers I'd be happy as a clam to buy these for $25 - $30... The idea's neat but I don't see it happening only because Hasbro's so ass backwards about how it handles army builders and exclusives. The best you can hope for is overpriced sets, or things you couldn't find enough of. TRU getting in droves of 5-packs of just VOTC Stormtroopers is a pipe dream, but it'd be great.
