TV-9D9 / Timegap Between EpIII and EpIV
« on: November 4, 2003, 09:56 PM »
The time gap between EpIII and EpIV is a lot to stomach and it sort of leaves you hanging wondering WTF is going on in the Galaxy the whole time based on the most recent spoiler reports.

Enter EU and the ever $$$ generating enterprise of LFL limited.

Vader hunting down the remaining Jedi searching for Yoda and Obi (unless they are presumed dead)
How did the Rebellion get started and grow?
Who recruited Dodonna, Rieekan etc
What were Bail, Obi and Yoda doing for 20 years
Stories of the Death Star Construction
Tales of 3PO and R2
The final fate of Jar Jar and the Gungans
Chewbacca finding Han Solo and a whole bunch of Wookiee fiction...are they really slaves? Is Solo an Imperial
Boba Fett growing up
Tales of Luke and Leia's Childhood

There seem to be a lot of loose threads and a big leap of faith, sorta makes you wish there was an Episode 3.5

Go here

I love this outline...seems like it fits pretty much

The thing I do not get is how Bail Organa can go from Renegade Senator back to being a Senator by the time of his death in ANH

Something doesn't fit there unless the Emperor doesn't know Bail helped everyone out....

Watto's Junk Yard / The Black Hole
« on: October 31, 2003, 02:52 PM »
No not the Grand Canyon at night

The other other great Sci Fi movie of the 70's which was made by Disney

A few weeks back in the chat room Nicklab, myself and Force Guy were talking about this movie.  I had it on DVD and had saw it as a kid but didn't really remember it too well

Well a week or so ago I popped 'er in and watched it

While the story is awesome and the effects are great as well...its like Disney started having a brain fart half way through the movie

The Science while probably not totally accurate was great until they hit the meteor shower.  All of a sudden the vacuum of space has no effect on them

Then, they reach the indoor garden and the vacuum is back and they almost get sucked into space

Then, they try and get on board the probe ship and guess what...no vacuum again...then the ship breaks up and they all go into the Hole...

Maxillian, B.O.B. and V.I.N.C.E.N.T. are all great, the cast is also pretty good  and Reinhardt is a classic Disney baddy

So not sure what to think of this anymore other than it is a classic Disney cash in movie trying to bank off of Star Wars and Star Trek and does it with so so results...

I'd be all for a remake or redo of this with even better effects and a movie a little more based in science

I have my Brother's bachelor party tomorrow, I'm in charge since I am the best man.  We are renting a school bus for some serious bar hopping action here in the Minneapolis Area.  Nobody has to drive which makes for an all around great time

I've been to a couple of doozys in my day though...anyone have any PG-13 experiences they would like to share :-*

I realize I may see like a Johnny Come Lately but I gotta throw out some kudos to the good ole alma mater who is sitting at 6-0

Probably the biggest 2 game stretch in my lifetime for the Mighty Minnesota Golden Gophers is coming up starting tonight with Michigan in town and Michigan State in town next week

It shall be a wonderful night and the dome might actually be sold out

They are talking riots here if they win as well which is asinine :-\

GO GOPHERS!

Watto's Junk Yard / College Grads...Do you use your degree?
« on: October 6, 2003, 02:04 PM »
I use my degree extensively because I am in a highly trained and dangerous environment and one flub up means people could be hurt or killed.  But I look no further than Mrs. OCB who has a bachelor's degree in Music Therapy to see that there a lot of people in the world who went through 4+ years of college and spent a lot of time and effort for something they don't use

I think to many people are being told they need[/i] to go to University or College when in fact they do not, it is a status symbol thing...

How do you feel about that time and effort and money that went to something you didn't need to do your job?  The social side is probably just as important which I'll agree on...

The Prequel Trilogy / Palpatine and Sidious and Sifo Dyas
« on: October 3, 2003, 11:38 AM »
Anyone still think differently that they are one and the same, I hope not...

From theforce.net

- Palpatine and Sidious are the same person. The dark side shrouds everything, even Jedi eyes.

The Prequel Trilogy / Aqualish
« on: October 3, 2003, 09:45 AM »
Now I've ranted before about how pissed I am that the PT Creature shop changed many of the OT Creature shops designs but the one that pisses me off to no end is the Aqualish

Why they got changed from a Walrus to a Spider makes me sooooo mad

Anyhow, in the latest Homing Beacon it is revealed that

Quote
Nicholson counts himself lucky to have landed a behind-the-mask part in Episode III as Senator Po Nudo. On the off chance you are a fan of the Aqualish representative from Ando, you may be sad to hear that Po Nudo does not survive to the end of the new movie. In fact, the greatest extra acting challenge for Nicholson was the fact that Nodu’s dead body serves as set dressing for a scene that took the "living" actors over ten hours to shoot.

So it sounds like the Separatists are all taken out...Two jedi knights on a mission to save the Supreme Chancellor perhaps?

Watto's Junk Yard / Kill Bill
« on: October 2, 2003, 12:13 AM »
Anyone going to go see the latest Tarintino flick?

I will, although like Kevin Smith I think each movie has gotten progressively worse

Resevoir Dogs ruled
Pulp Fiction was also a great movie (And Great Soundtrack!)
Jackie Brown was good but it needed to end quicker
