Feedback / Rob's (pka Kneel Before Zod) feedback
« on: February 22, 2006, 10:58 AM »
Man, Rob doesn't have a feedback thread here yet?   :o

I know that everyone already knows Rob's a good guy, but I'd just feel dirty if I didn't post some feedback for a good transaction!   ;)

Anyway, Rob paid me licket-split and right-quick for a recent deal.  Thanks again Rob!

Hey Hasbro! / More Evolutions Please!
« on: February 15, 2006, 10:57 AM »
Dear Hasbro,

One thing that really diappointed me about Toy Fair 2006 was that there were no new Evolution Sets shown.  I know that you said "we aren't planning any more", but after they sold so well and got such great fan response (just look at our Evolutions Thread - it's 56 pages of rave reviews!), I thought you'd eventually see the light.

There are so many great Star Wars characters from the Prequel Trilogy that deserve their own Evolutions set:

Obi-Wan Kenobi -
SA Epiosde 3 Jedi Padawan
SA Episode 2 Jedi Knight
SA Episode 3 Jedi Master

Padme/Amidala -
SA Episode 1 Padme Naberrie (w/Pod Race Screen)
SA Episode 2 Padme Amidala (Pick any one of the many costumes you skipped)
SA Episode 3 Padme Amidala (Pick any one of the many costumes you skipped)

Even our favorite Protocol Droid would be nice -
SA Episode 1 C-3PO (Exposed)
SA Episode 2 C-3PO (Silver/Gray)
SA Episode 3 C-3PO (Gold)

I could go on and on with the examples.  Maybe the Evolutions Sets can be the Prequel Trilogy's thing?  You know how the Original Trilogy gets the "Vintage" throwback line to give us highly articulated sculpts of classic OT characters?  Well, the Evolutions Sets could give us highly articulated sculpts of the Prequel characters!

Just something to think about as you get ready for Toy Fair 2007...

Your Pal,
Jeff

Watto's Junk Yard / My New Empire
« on: February 4, 2006, 09:20 PM »
Things are about to happen this summer that will completely change my life - don't worry though, it's a good change.

The self-imposed waiting period has passed, so I can now reveal that my wife and I will be adding to our family.   :)

She is due in early August, but will most likely deliver in late July because we are expecting twins, which usually arrive a few weeks early I'm told - about 38wks instead of 40wks  (they arrive early even without the traumatic betrayal of your Jedi husband).

Just thought I'd share the good news with all my great friends here at JD (and I was too lazy to send out a bunch of PMs  ;)).

Saga Collection '06 / 2006 TRU Clone Wars Gunship
« on: January 20, 2006, 12:28 PM »
I guess this thing can be "officially" confirmed because it is now up for pre-order at Amazon.com for $45with an expected ship date of May 1st (but we all know how those ship dates go  ::)).

Should be the same old Gunship, but this time with the killer paint deco from the cartoon.  $45 though seems like a HUGE rip-off considering the first release went for $40 and was clearanced and the RotS version sold like hotcakes for $30.   >:(

Unless it's got a bunch of pack-in figures, I'm going to have to pass...

Saga Collection '06 / TRU Defense of the Galactic Senate Battle Pack
« on: January 20, 2006, 12:07 PM »
Since it's now up for pre-order at Amazon.com, I thought we better start a topic.   :)

Last I read, this set was TRU exclusive and no one is really sure what is supposed to be included.  It says it's due May 1st, but we all know how well Amazon/TRU keeps those dates.   ::)

Maybe we'll learn more at Toy Fair?

Saga Collection '06 / 2006 American International Toy Fair
« on: January 19, 2006, 12:02 PM »
So, we're just a little over 3 weeks from this year's Toy Fair.

What are you hoping to see?  Have questions you'd like our Toy Fair crew to ask Hasbro?

Personally, I hope Hasbro has info for us about the stupid Bounty Hunt figures.  I'd really like to know what's what before they hit (which could be March at the current pace  :P).  I also can't wait to get a look at some of the other waves we haven't seen yet, including the 2006 vOTC line-up, the Endor Wave, the Naboo wave, and the Yavin/Death Star wave!

Hopefully the rumored Ewok Village 3PO will be as articulated as we all want and I'm curious as to which Pod Racers made the cut for the Naboo wave.  Here's to hoping that Ben Quadrinaros finally makes the cut!   ;)

Thanks again and enjoy all your new Kubricks when they get there!
