Other Toy Lines / Re: Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis figures
« on: May 17, 2006, 07:15 AM »
Then I found out there is a WWLA Exclusive Jack O'Neill figure that is limited to 500. Plus if you go to Diamond Select Toys and click on the Stargate logo you will see the special about the mail a-way Elite Serpent Guard & about the unpainted versions of the toys that they are randomly sticking in cases.

My wife is going to kill me over this new collection.

There was a FCBD (Free Comic Book Day) Jack O'Neill that was a give-a-way piece on May 6th. I had to go to secondary market to get one.

If this toy is any indication of the line this will be a decent line for standing around and looking cool, but low on the playable scall. Not a lot of articulation and needs a flat serface to stand on.

I'm wondering where would I post my missing lest for Marvel legends? I got into these really late so I'm looking to catch up and would love the help.

Here is a good spot and in the Classifies section. At least in here if you are missing something we can help you make sure the list is complete.

I love reading those guys comments about Hasbro. While the SW line has not been perfect and there is always room for improvement, the amount of product that sells in the line is probably 2 to 3 times the amount that sells in the Legends line. Add on top of that the size of the figures and the less articulation, i'd guess SW would make tons and tons more money than Legends

However, the thing that hurts SW is the License Fee that Hasbro signed...that totally screws the bottom line

Those guys think Legends is the end all be all in the toy aisle, but I'd bet that sales for other toy lines are even higher (Trasnformers, Power Rangers, TMNT etc)

The other big challenge is that Hasbro is taking over a mature line that doesn't have a whole lot left to do to interest collectors. They'll almost have to cut some articulation out to try and reduce the unit costs and they'll need to pump out the Main Characters to keep sell through high with the kiddies (see Vader, Darth) Its almost a no win in my opinion...they are banking on the movies being huge but that in itself is risky (see Spider Man 2, FF and in some stores Hulk) figures still on the pegs

Don't forget that just about everywhere you can still find Batman Begins toys (a year after it was released)

The biggest problem they had with the FF is that the toys weren't released until 3 months after the movie hit theaters and in a lot of area's the movie had come and gone.

If they were to start releasing Marvel Legends in waves like they do with Star Wars so that we get a few of the new figures as the current wave is dying down and keep popular toys from the current line shiping (such as more of the Variants and figures that were 1 to a case) as the new stuff comes out they we avoid having 3 Vengence & Things from the Legendary Riders line sittng for 4 months till Bring On the Bad Guys is launched. This way interest in the line remains money still pours in and lower lag time on people waiting.

I have to agree about Prof. X, i really wish we could have go tth eover chair instead of the one we got. I woul dhave been happ if they did a mailaway just for the chair.

It would have been nice for them to have included Wild Child for the AOA Sabretooth as well. An acessorry Set later on would be cool (Chair for Xavier, Sword for Nightcrawler or at least a Brimstone smoke stand for him, Racks of Iron Man parts for all the different Iron Man's, suction cup webbing to make Spiderman look like he is swinging.)

I wonder if Marvel is going to take the sales of these last waves of figures on who they could make new toys of for the future? After all they could start making runs of story arcs from the comics. Age of Apocalypse, Secret Wars, Phoenix Saga, New Avengers, and such.

Michael Crawford reviews the WM wave.

He says the variant Sentry comes with the same piece that the regular Sentry does, and you'll need the Wolvie variant to complete the Giant Man.

After reading the Crawford review, I have to say he has some really good points about the figures, but I wasn't impressed with his review of Kitty. I think Kitty is by far the best female figure that ML has done.

(As we all know the Wolvie variant is going to be a beotwch to find.

I have found all the X-Men figures that I am looking for other than I need one more of the Burnt Wolverines.

What are you doing with the Giantman pieces from AoA Sabretooth and the two AoA Wolverines?  If you want to get rid of them, I'd be interested in them.  Let me know.

I have a co-worker who's husband I have deal with already. If he doesn't want the extra Wolverine and Burnt Face wolverine pieces they are yours.

I am really stumped with the choices that Toy Biz is doing with the build a figure. They are putting figures from a line that make no sense...

Galactus - WHY Professor X & Nightcrawler
Sentinel - WHY Spider-Man & Black Panter
Apocalypse - WHY Maestro & Ironfirst
MOJO - WHY Luke Cage, Falcon, Baron Zemo, & Iron Man
GIANT MAN - WHY Kitty Pride, Captain Britian, Wolverine, Sabretooth & Havok

Wouldn't it make more sense for the Sentinel, Apocalypse & MOJO series to be an ALL X-Men series, and make GIANT MAN to be an ALL Avengers series, and make the Galactus Series a mix of FF and Avengers.

I like the Bring on the Bad Guys line, but not to build an Onslaught. Onlaught would be cool line to have done a Franklin Richards, a possesed Professor X, and other figures that had something to do with the story.

The previous rumor of a HOLOCAUST build a figure would be great to do an all AOA line of toys.

I will get off my soapbox now.

I found one yesterday afternoon. I have found all the X-Men figures that I am looking for other than I need one more of the Burnt Wolverines. I have seen every piece in the collection except the Bearded Sentry.

By the looks of it the Face Off figures are coming 6 to a case, and you get 1 of each set up. Hulk with Bubble Head Leader, Hulk (Angrier looking) with elongated head Leader, Daredevil  with JD Hogg (Dukes of Hazzard reference) looking King Pin, Daredevil with out a mask with Abraham Lincoln Hogg (Boss Hogg's goodie goodie complete opposite Twin Brother) looking King Pin, Captain America with Red Skull and Captain America (Maskless) with Barron Zemo.

Stoped at my local Wal-Mart here in MN and found 2 Ant-Man's and 1 Thor. So the series is hitting shelves.

Minneapolis!

I am so okay with Minneapolis. Considering that they have done them in Denver and Indianapolis which are smaller than Minneapolis. After all having it in LA will cost everyone an arm, leg, and their first born. I think we have just found the birth place of the Sith...LA!!!

I've never gone to the shows myself, but I've heard they're hit and miss like any other toy show. There can be a large selection of items, but you're always going to find those 1 or 2 dealers who want your first born for a toy. The Kane County show is the only regularly scheduled toy show in Chicagoland and I've been told it's worth at least one visit, perhaps one day I'll actually make the drive...

You are correct with your assesment of the show. I make the drive down from Minnesota for the show in March & October. They ussually have a June show, but not this year.

Can anyone confirm this? I was under the impression that it was just the variant wolverine that had the 10th piece.

Either way, I probably won't be able to afford to get 10 figs anyway. Will try to get my hands on Kitty Pryde though.
Variant Sentry

From what I remember reading in Toyfare (103 I think) they said that the Wolverine & Sentry with the different heads are NOT variants. They are considered to be an individual figure for the set. That every figure will come 1 to a case and you will have to buy the whole case in order to put the whole Giant Man together.
