Try out this handy-dandy page:  http://csls.diamondcomics.com/.  It's Diamond comics Comic Shop locator.  It'll find the nearest store to you.

What Mos Eisly docking bay housed the Millenium Falcon in A New Hope?

Toy Reviews / Re: Anakin Secret Ceremony

It should certainly be mentioned that the articulation is pretty good on this Anakin.  I've got one loose, and it doesn't fail to impress.

ARTICULATION
-2 x ball jointed shoulders (really 4 points right here.  In my book, one ball joint equals 2 normal joints, since it aids the arm in moving horzontally and vertically)
-2 mid-arm swivel joints
-neck
-waist
-2 x legs
-2 x ankles (which twist around and extend to "tippy toes".  again, a more versatile joint in the same school of thought as the ball joint)

Add on top of that, that this is one of the more neutrally posed Anakins, sans action features, and I'm really happy with this one.

I've got an open sample of Aayla Secura, and she can actually be posed kicking.  That was a pleasant surprise, IMO.

She was definitely worth the wait, from seeing her getting sculpted at Celebration 2 last May until making my purchase in March.

Hasbro will be showing off some goodies at this show and the San Diego Comic-Con.  So, it's certainly worth going just to see some of this stuff.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Concept Toys
« on: May 8, 2003, 10:54 AM »
I could deal with concept figures.  BUT, I think they should be limited.  How so?  Make them available through the fan club only, perhaps?  And only make one or two per year.  There's only so much to draw from for the concepts.

Some of the good concepts?

Darth Vader from that lightsaber dueling image
Boba Fett in all white
Snowtrooper

What I'm kind of shocked about is the concept figures that haven't been mentioned that we've already gotten.

-Darth Maul-Sith Apprentice
-Qui-Gon Jinn-Jedi Training Gear
-Obi-Wan Kenobi-Jedi Training Gear

These are all very similar to the concept artwork for EPISODE I.  And on top of these, we've got the McQuarrie Concept Stormtrooper on the way, and quite possibly Asajj Ventress.  She was the original concept for a Sith Lord in EPISODE II.

Yeah, Boba was coming later this year I believe...I thought the same time as Yoda and Han

He still is.  He's going to be battling his way out of the Sarlacc, according to my source.  He's probably one of the pieces that Hasbro's waiting to unveil at Comic-Con or Wizard World in Chicago.

BTW, if you're not able to hook up with someone for these figures, try Disney Delivers.  Their phone number is 1(407)363-6200.

When I called them the other day, to my surprise, they knew exactly what I was talking about.  So I get the feeling that lots of people are calling on a regular basis.

King Kong definitely sounds like it's a priority for Jackson to do first.  I can certainly understand him taking a break from the whole world of Middle Earth for a while.  When it comes to making The Hobbit, I'm curious if Ian Holm will be up to the challenge of the lead role.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: So, who plays an instrument here?
« on: May 8, 2003, 12:18 AM »
I started out on alto sax.  Years later, after a hiatus from that instrument, I took up bass guitar.  Now I play several variations of that instrument, as well as the upright bass.

I've been playing in all-original bands since 1995, and my current project might actually be headed somewhere.  We gig around the NYC area, and might be doing dome regional touring in the not too distant future.
