Power of the Jedi / Re: Force Files
« on: April 2, 2003, 03:24 AM »
The later items, mainly the last three waves lost the force files.  Most people seem to regard these as  a transition towards the SAGA line.

The force files seemed to get a not so great reception.  The consensus among most collectors seemed to be "give us more accessories, not more paper".

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: New Clone Wars Anakin & Durge
« on: March 29, 2003, 02:42 PM »
Well, having read the new Dark Horse Star Wars:  Republic title where Durge makes his premier, he seems like the bad guy you love to hate.  And definitely mean!  The way they've drawn him makes his armor look somewhat Samurai-like.  Reminds me of the Silver Samurai, of X-Men and Wolverine fame.

POTJ was definitely one of my favorite lines.  Nary a stinker in the bunch.  As for the toughies?

-Masters of the Dark Side  2-pack

-Scout Trooper-Imperial Patrol (clean)
-Sandtrooper-Tatooine Patrol
-Scout Trooper-Imperial Patrol (dirty)
-R2-Q5
-IG-88, as JediMAC mentioned, has become kind of scarce
-Han Solo-Bespin Capture (one of my favorites!) hasn't been hanging around all that much.  You can probably get one reasonably
-BoShek
-Teebo
-R4-M9 (this wave in general was tough to score)

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Will '03 see transition cards?
« on: March 29, 2003, 02:28 PM »
Actually, it seems that we're getting transition cards right now.  The SAGA card has definitely changed for this year, and it seems to me that they'll be very shortlived since we're going to the Clone Wars packaging and new SAGA style packaging that was shown at the media event.

Despite the fact they look good (with exception to San Hill), in the back of my mind I've got the itchy feeling I'll never see any of them on shelves...

Anyway, I must say, the best looking figure of them all, in my opinion, is Yaddle. Perfect face sculpt. Mace's plastic top and fabric bottom looks odd, anyone else notice that?

Question = think the Jedi will come w/ sabers?

Uhh, don't you mean Even Piell?  Yaddle's not in the set.  And the Jedi do not come with lightsabers, FYI.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: recreating the Arena Battle
« on: March 29, 2003, 02:22 PM »
Hello all, Iv'e been out of town for a while.  How about Ayala Secura and Barriss Offee, were they at the arena?  I recall someone stating Ayala was not.

There's a couple of shots where I've seen Aayla Secura.  In one, she's kicking a droid.  In the other, she's being walked towards the circle of survivors.

As for Barriss Offee, the only shot where I've seen her very clearly was when all the Jedi ignite their lightsabers.  You'll notice she's got a blue one :)

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Pegwarmer of the Year Award
« on: March 29, 2003, 02:15 PM »
Looking at the whole year, I'd say Zam Wessel-Bounty Hunter AND Zam Wessel from the preview assortment have been some of the worst pegwarmers going.  Odd, since not one, but BOTH 3-3/4" versions of a Bounty Hunter character haven't sold well.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: THIRD Imperial Officer head variant is a go!
« on: March 29, 2003, 02:13 PM »
I've managed to get the smaller brown haired version (1) and blonde haired (2) variants.  Albeit, I got the brown haired one at a show.  I managed to get the others at a better deal.  I'd definitely like to see the case packouts get at least 3 Imperial Officers per case, and not one.

I'd go with the AT-TE.  Runner's up include Jabba the Hutt's Sail Barge and the Sith Infiltrator.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: recreating the Arena Battle
« on: March 6, 2003, 08:24 AM »
Yes it doesn't make much sense at all, originally there was debate that the theatrical credits said Lott Dod and the Official Website said Gilramos Libkath, since then it has been changed to Lott Dod and most on-line references (including the Data Bank) say Lott

Just checked out the Visual Dictionary, and that called him Gilramos Libkath.  Yet another inconsistancy.  Hooboy!

« on: March 5, 2003, 01:46 PM »
I guess the whole Lott Dod thing is a bit of a mystery.  The voice actor certainly doesn't sound the same from TPM to AOTC.  Also, the designation on the Lott Dod figure in the SAGA line is The Phantom Menace, not Attack Of The Clones.

Saga '02-'04 / Re:New Saga 4-packs: Love 'em or hate 'em?
« on: March 4, 2003, 07:07 PM »
I like the 4-pack.  Too bad there's not a fourth army builder in there.  I like the Vader, but he makes me want to buy fewer of the sets than I might if there was another Trooper, Officer, or Droid in the set.

The Neimoidian with Nute Gunray on Geonosis was not Lott Dod or Rune Haako.  His name was Gilramos Libkath.
