Try removing the rug and see what the puppy does.

I really enjoyed that illustration. Are you the one who did the 'How Smart I Am Today' chart, as well? I've got that one saved on my hard drive.

That doesn't ring any bells...  Any chance you could post it or email it to me so I can check it out?

Another thing that popped into my head is that possibly one time she came running into the room and slipped/wiped out there and got hurt a little bit.  Sometimes dogs can be spooked for awhile after doing something like that.  Then again, I'm sure you would have witnessed that, as I doubt your dog is running in there when you guys aren't in there.  Anyways, I hope you get it figured out, and she gets more comfortable again.

We leave the door open in the day now so it's very possible that she hurt herself (not badly enough to linger).  Now that you mention it, the other day though she tried to jump onto the bed around that spot far from where the carpet starts and did kinda biff.  I mentioned that last night but the girlfriend dismissed it as probably nonsense.  That just might be it.

Not me - but it's always possible that the puppy did.

Whenever that happens we clean it up real quick though - concrete floors rule when raising a puppy.

Of course, the bigger one's never been terrified by puddles of urine before...

The only thing I can think of is the television.  But I changed that on Saturday and the behavior started tonight.

I got a new bigger one for the living room - moved the one that was in there into the bedroom and trashed the old one.

I'll try the temperature thing and then I'll try seeing if she'll come in the room with the t.v. off.

The building is only like 4 years old - so I doubt there's anything spooky going on...

12052
I wasn't sure if you were insinuating ghosts or just a cold spot in the room.

Gotcha.  Will check this evening.

Chicken fried rice and vegetable (or chicken) spring rolls.

I'm also a sucker for Chicken and Vegetable Tempura.

It just started yesterday - and I'm not someone who after seeing Best in Show thinks it's acceptable to take a dog to therapy.

I'm gonna figure out how to fix this one in house if at all possible.

Now there are mixed signals coming out of Arafat's hospital - some are saying he's clinically dead - others only saying that 'he's alive'

We might have a 'celebrity' - well, famous person - die today!

2 things, Zod.

First, can you put a thermometer on the "danger zone" about the area she generaly runs through, at around the time you go into your room for bed? Then check to see it it's abnormally low compared to other areas in the room.

Second, is Emmerson named after the school?

Kevin

She's named after the poet - we call her Emmy.

I'll see if I can find a thermometer around the place this evening and report back.  - but we don't have the heat or a/c on so I doubt there's any difference.

It's always exciting when you find another one you missed that was actually from the DBB himself:

04/23/03 - RIP Mary Dorothy Christian.

Added.

Also added Miss Elizabeth.

My dog suddenly is terrified to come into our bedroom.  She always just runs right in and uses the rug to jump onto the bed (We've got polished concrete floors).

Suddenly, yesterday - and for no apparent reason, she freezes at the door way.  Looks terribly scared and will not come in no matter how much the girlfriend and I try to call her.

So, I did what any dog owner would do - I got dog treats and tried to lure her into the room with them.  She was going nuts all the way from the kitchen to the bedroom door but then froze and would NOT enter despite dog treats.

After 3 minutes of pleading with her - she turned to her left, scurried down the wall (along the t.v. stand), turned right at the wall with the windows on it, then scurried over to the bed and jumped up from the opposite corner - a much longer route - and she was terrified the whole time.  I again note that she has to use the rug ot jump onto the bed since the floors give her no traction.

Here's a little map of the room to outline what I just described:

Let me know if any of that doesn't make sense.

I'm not saying there's ghosts or anything like that - but I'm completely baffled as to why she would all of the sudden be terrified to enter the room.  She has no problem leaving the room and is fine and wants to stay and hang out once she makes it to the bed.

Any ideas?

Here's a picture:

It's only the older one (the black one - Emerson) - the puppy (Dante) is completely fine and normal and will go anywhere without freaking out.

Anyone's pets ever do anything weird like that?  If she's still doing it in a day or two I'm thinking of calling the vet - but I have no idea what they'd possibly say beyond telling me to call the ghostbusters...

Just heard that Yassr Arafat has died.

Waiting for someone to report it at rebelscum.

EDIT:  Now the hospital is denying this.  We'll see...

EDIT 2:  Added Bob Hope.
