Hi All,

Entered into a deal with Ed and BAM!

Less than 12 hours after finalizing the deal, he's already sent along the payment!

Very quick and very easy!  A+

My info is that this one is designed NOT for Sam's Club, but rather it will be available at their competitor, CostCo.

AND, it looks like the pilot is a re-hash of the X-Wing "Red Leader" figure and NOT the Saga Gold Leader figure.

 :'(

Not unexpected given today's era of cheap out, but still disappointing.

Thanks for the heads up, Brian!

Very nice.  I like the way they made the OTC cards into "regular" cards so they could get us a few prequel figures!

Ah, public shaming.  What a great punishment.

Court Approves Public Shaming of Mail Thief

Darn mail-stealers!  When will they realize that is isn't a victimless crime...  :'(

On the train/subway/bus/etc, unless you are disabled/injured yourself, get the hell up out of your seat and offer it to an older lady who is looking for a seat.

On three different occasions over the last week (Boston and Minneapolis), I've seen dumb-ass punks (age 18-21) sitting and shooting the s**t while an elderly woman stands right next to them trying to hold onto the railing and keep her balance.

Not an ounce of consideration amongst them.  I'd like to think that when my Grandma has to ride the bus to the hair salon, some dumbass Slim-Shady wannabe or yuppie businessman prick reading the paper doesn't make her stand.

Excellent casting for He Who Shall Not Be Named.  Next "big" part should be Prof. Moody.  Any ideas?

Here are a few other recent cast additions:
Brendan Gleeson ....  Mad-Eye Moody
Miranda Richardson ....  Rita Skeeter

They have also cast pretty much all the big kid roles (Krum, Fleur, Diggory) and the other School teachers as well, but they are pretty much no-name actors/actresses.

Don't cruise Potter sites too much but anyone have any scoop on their plan for Goblet?  2 Movies shot at the same time?  Large amounts of editing leaving lots of stuff out?

Last I read, they were dumping the two movies part.  Tis true they were planning a Kill Bill-esque Vol 1 and Vol2 , but I think WB decided that was too much watering down the HP franchise since they have to keep this thing rolling for at least 7 movies.

The current plan I believe is to dump a lot of the intro parts (World Cup Quiddich) into dialogue and skip the actually filming.  IE, Harry and Ron talk about how they went to the match, but we don't see it in the film.

Whew.

Wolves keep Hudson

T-Wolves now have 11 players under contract and are ready to roll.  In years past, I'd have been upset with a "Status Quo" off-season, but this year keeping the same group of guys seems to be the way to go, especially with pending implosions for the Kings and LAkers.

Woot!

Got my SDCC Swag box from the MAC today!

Unlike those poor bastiches who ordered from SWShop.com, my Silver Sandtrooper arrived Minty Fresh!  PLUS, the box was chocked full o' freebie goodness as well!

Props to the M-A-C.

JD Sports Forum! / AL Wild Card Race
« on: August 9, 2004, 02:22 PM »
OK,

Who wins the AL Wild Card?

Boston Red Sox (My pick)
Texas Rangers
Oakland A's
Anaheim Angels
Clevland Indians

I'm pretty sure that Minnesota can hang on, especially with the White Sox being so Diseased.  I am also certain that the Evil Empire will win another AL East, barring a major disaster (ie a plane crash with all team members aboard).

The West, however... I'm not so sure about.  Seems like the A's have the pitching, the Angels the hitting, and Texas the will-power to stay in the hunt.  Someone is gonna win the West, but will the runners-up have a shot at the Wild Card?  Is it an all-or-nothing division this year?

I'm going to stick with my original plan and choose the A's to win the West... leaving the Wild Card door open for the Red Sox as the Angels and Rangers crap out.

Jeff

ps.
Having just spent the week in Boston, it's safe to say the folks there don't appreciate Douggie Baseball just quite yet.  At least not as much as they miss No-mah.  That NomarGate stuff is crazy... lotsa cheap Nomar T-Shirts around though.

Also, I got to tour Fenway.   Absolutely Amazing.  I was sad I couldn't take in a game, but the tour was great.  Got to go to the press box, the .406 Club level, the Green Monster Seats, and take a walk on the warning track around the field (no going on the field though as it was being groomed :().

Truly a "wicked awesome" ballpark.  Makes me sad to have to sit in that teflon baggie covered cement monster to watch a baseball game  :'(
