She works for Official Pix and handles a lot of that. She handled all the volunteer stuff for C3 too.

Nice lady.

Aahhh....I see. I was just wondering where she was, since I haven't seen her around in a long, long time.

I didn't even think that Anne lady still was a staff member at Scum...while she may be working behind the scenes, she only has 13 posts and hasn't made a post since February of last year. She says she's in charge of the Wedge collection engine, but it hasn't been updated since the beginning of ROTS. Not trying to bash her or anything in the slightest bit, just wondering what she does for Rebelscum since apparently she was prominent enough to get an invite.

Well....

Here's the Gareth thread in question. The reason why no knows about it is beacuse, dispite the fact that almost all who got taken were in America, Jeremy desided that a thread in the feedback section was not needed and kept only the one thread opened in the Europe section where all the American forum members would natually look.

I could be wrong, but I think Gareth was coddled.

I actually followed that thread from the begninning (or close to it).  It appeared that Gareth was trading items he didn't yet have, weaving a tangled web that eventually came apart on him.  I remember several instances where members suggested he was being coddled, only to be shut down by the moderator, and I believe in once case even threatened with suspension.

(Sorry if this post has become OT)

I find that whole situation odd as well. Its obvious that Gareth was trying to scam people, got caught, and made up some half ass "pity me" story.   ::)

Whats weird though is that Jeremy protected him so much. I mean in all honesty, there have been threads with 100x worse flaming at Rebelscum that have stayed open and not a word was said by a staff member. The people involved were pissed because he was scamming them, and they have every right to be. I don't think that the "flaming" that was going on was even that bad, let alone unwarranted. I don't think that bannings or suspensions needed to be used at all.   :P

I understand that the staff want to be non-biased and try to be fair to everyone, but there is a line. Halfway through the thread it turned from Jeremy being balanced to defending Gareth. I equate this to the people who protest that a convicted serial killer is not being treated humanely enough (or like Saddam in the news recently at his trial and how he bitches about everything). Did they treat their victims humanely? No. So they shouldn't be treated humanely. (Its a bit of a morbid metaphor, but you get the jist of what I'm trying to say).

While Gareth hasn't technically flat out admitted he is scamming, or been "convicted", even if he is telling the truth he still messed up in a lot of ways.

I don't know if banning Gareth was such a good idea either...now the only way people can reach him is via email (which he doesn't seem to reply to), and I'm guessing that since a lot of the information he has about the people he's dealing with (their addresses, the transactions, etc.) are probably from PMs, if he was wanting to send them their packages but didn't have their information saved they would be screwed.

Good luck if any of you are involved with this.

I thought I heard rumors of a Goonies 2 surfacing about a year ago...

I remember hearing this too. I did a quick and brief search and found that it is apparently under development with the working title of "Goonies II: Never Say Die". I couldn't find a whole lot of information about it, so I doubt that if this movie is made we will see it anytime soon.

Anyone remember this gem, the Goonies 2 video game for NES?

I am uneasy about this as well. I'll be very, very angry if they aren't in the same scale. I guess we will just have to wait and see how all this unfolds.  :P

Who gives a ****?  So some ******bag gets his jollies by posting under numerous aliases, thus pissing people off.  Here's a hint - that's what he wants.  Ignore him and he'll go away.

I wouldn't care that much if it was just that he was annoying (then I could just ignore him), but he tries to find out personal information about both me and CHEWIE, and thats sort of creepy. Granted, I'm not a dumbass and there's nothing he could find out thats not publicly available. He also tries to harass members of my site, and if I can end his fun again by alerting a mod, I'm going to do it.

Trust me, I have ignored him. I've just been PMing the mods lately as opposed to publicly outing him. The problem is that no matter how much you say to people to ignore him, someone is always going to say something. Personally, I'd rather have people outing him right away rather than him staying for a while.

I used to love TRU. But last week an employee blatantly lied to me, and now I could care less if the store in my area goes belly up.

Here's what happened: I was looking through the figure aisle with my brothers and mom a few days ago. My brothers were looking for things to get me for my birthday. We spotted 2 racks of McFarlane Military figures, and the tags on the pegs said that they used to be $10.99 but were on clearance for $1.98. My brothers grabbed one of each figure and headed to the checkout. However once we got there they said that it was a mistake (even though it was on two different pegs  ::) ) and that they shouldn't be that low in price. I was still in the figure aisle while my family was buying these, and all of a sudden I see a TRU manager hauling ass toward the figures. The employee didn't know I was with the people at the checkout, so I watched the employee because I had a feeling they were going to do something shady. Sure enough, the employee gets to the rack, looks around with a "oh crap we screwed up" look on her face, then grabs all the remaining figures off the pegs and just sets them in a pile to the side. So I go to the checkout to see whats going on, and the employee that moved the figures goes back and says that when she went back there, there were no figures on the pegs so she couldn't verify it. So they tried getting out of their mistake by cheating a customer. Then they started saying that it could just be a customer that moved the figures onto the pegs, even though it said McFarlane Soldiers in big words. I asked them if these figures weren't the ones that were on sale, which were then? They tried making something up about mini McFarlane military figures (which they don't make). We got fed up with the lies and left.

So basically what the manager was telling me, was that even if the figures were on the pegs, they can't verify if thats the real price.

Clicky here

I've PMed an adminstrator about this guy, as I highly suspect its Greenday. Unfortunately, the administrator told me that since his IP address doesn't match Greenday's (obviously it won't, his IP changes all the time!), and he hasn't admitted who he is, the admin won't do anything about him, saying "he hasn't done anything stupid yet". I guess this thread he made isn't stupid enough.
